I started working on the music and it was a breath of fresh air to take a break from my epic-space-battles that I am preparing with my music project Dol Ammad and to focus on simpler and cuter sounds for a video game.

The sound design was tons of fun as me and my cat Batman were running around in the studio with bags, pop corns, coins etc to make the proper sound effects.

I was really interested in a sound for a bag full of pop corn exploding so I bought tons of croissant bags that I bursted in various ways and tested the results.

Of course the real fun came when we moved the mics into the kitchen to record the actual pop corns.

Let’s hope I didn’t get oil on my expensive mic….

The game also called for various munching sounds. No problem there, I just devoured the pop corn I had just made

In the end I had a great time and the honor to be part of a great game design team.

That’s right Batman, you can break open the champagne now!

Argy has been involved in my music projects for more than 10 years and we have developed special communication patterns and language regarding mixing and mastering my strange hybrid music. It was great to see how we have evolved over the years and how naturally we now work into developing what I think is our best sound production so far!

I am finalizing the artwork and the rest of the details and “Hyperspeed” will be off to the pressing plant very soon. Stay tuned as I unveil the epic art, a videoclip from Hyperspeed and the pre-orders of the Vinyl and CD editions.

Ohhhhhh… I feel wasted….

The concept of Cosmic Gods will be divided into these 2 (probably?!) books and into 2 separate albums entitled “Hyperspeed // Cosmic Gods – Episode 1″ and “??!???!?!?! // Cosmics Gods – Episode 2″. I’ve over-used the word “Parts” in the past…. Part 1 , Part 2, Part …. so I chose the word “Episode”. Anything that is more Star-wars-y is better than anything else after all

I am closing the deal for the artwork for “Hyperspeed” at the moment. The art is STUNNING!!! I still have my jaw on the floor and I can’t wait to show it to you. This is definitely Vinyl material! Cya later, Space on.

I enjoy drumming as much as I enjoy synthesizers and sound design and it was a great pleasure to lay my own hits and kicks on the epic new material for the upcoming Dol Ammad album.

There were some very tricky and “hyper-speed” parts (damn… who wrote this stuff?) but I managed to pull through even though I had to take a break every hour for milk, coffee and swedish massages.

Of course the perfect eyes and ears of Batman were there to check the performance.

But Dim as always was a monster in time-keeping and dexterity and didn’t have any problem having the little furry demon by his side. I am so glad with the result, the songs have gained their heavy overcoat and their sub harmonic rumbles and are reaching the final stages of production!

And here he is performing his famous growls, trying to sing along a black metal LP that is spinning:

OK OK, make the growls STOP!! I’ll release Dol Ammad into vinyl Batman, you win…

My beautiful babies were ready to be immortalized for the new Dol Ammad opus and I was so happy to fine-tune the sounds I designed the last year for “Hyperspeed”.

Analog sweetness and digital harshness blended together with bleeps, sweeps and arpeggios to create the perfect cosmic environment for the space journey that lies ahead.

The songs are taking their full shape and form and I can’t wait to show you the result. I hope by the end of the month I will have some videos ready for you. Stay tuned and Space On!

I wanted to give the Dol Ammad logo a more “spacey” and “epic” feel and this is why I designed it with a textured 3D feel and a small sense of perspective. Do you like it? Let me know your opinions! I feel it will suit perfect the more “bombastic” and “power” feel of the upcoming “Hyperspeed” album.
