Releasing one album under the name The Organisation in 1970 (produced and engineered by Conny Plank) with a group of various musicians, they left The Organisation and formed Kraftwerk as a duo, releasing their first album entitled Kraftwerk the same year. Playing shows in Germany, they fleshed out their live performances with drummer Klaus Dinger and later brought in guitarist Michael Rother. In 1971, Ralf Hutter quit Kraftwerk leaving Schneider, Dinger and Rother as a trio. The trio recorded a session with Conny Plank but those sessions have yet to see the light of day. The trio played live for the next six months, leaving very little recorded except a live performance on German tv show Beat Club and this recording. These 5 recordings, recorded live for Bremen radio, strongly foreshadow what Rother and Dinger would create as Neu! in the aftermath of this incarnation of Kraftwerk.
