in this article, I am going to share with you the no B.S. guide on how to make money online.

First of all, there are dozens of ways to make money online.

In this article, I will not be covering the ways to make money online. Instead, what I will do is acually explain to you how to actually make money online.

The Formula of Making Money

To learn how to make money online, you should know the formula of making money first.

The Formula to make money is:

Leads + Offers = Money $$$

Whereas Leads are the prospective customers who are interested in what you have to offer.

And the Offers is anything that you can think of that can make you money.

Examples of offers:

• Your own products (digital or physical)
• Affiliate products you are promoting
• Advertisements spots for sale on your site
• etc… (all things that makes you money are considered as an offer.)

The Sales Funnel

let me break this down to you by introducing you to something that is called a “Sales Funnel”

1. The Sales funnel starts with traffic. Traffic is basically the number of people who are able to see any form of your online content.

• Website
• blog posts
• YouTube videos
• facebook posts

there are many ways to get traffic. The top 3 best places to get traffic is via:

1. Google (being on the front page result for a keyword)
2. Facebook (because people like your content, they share it and it gets viral via facebook)
3. youtube (same explanation like facebook and google)

2. The Lead capture mechanism is something that you use to get the traffic (visitor’s) information.

• can be an optin page where you collect their email address
• can also be a free membership site where they are asked to sign up (good examples are social networking sites and forums)

Tip: an easy way to get information from your visitors is by giving away a free incentive like an ebook that they can download in exchange for signing up to your site or email list

3. After you “captured” their information, they become prospective customers or Leads.

4. A series of follow up emails that provides value to your leads helps you build good relationship with your leads

5. By providing more value and building a good relationship with your leads, you improve your brands credibility and earn their trust that leads to higher conversions in sales on what you have to offer.

Take note that an offer is not always the product that you are selling. An offer can sometimes be a way on how you structure a deal with your leads. You can do that by giving a twist or over delivering what you have to offer.

some examples could be:

• Offering a once in a lifetime discount on a t-shirt you are selling
• You can give your leads exclusive coupon codes to get your products in half the price
• offer a bonus e-book if the customer decides to purchase your product within the next 2 weeks
• the ideas on how to structure your offers are unlimited.

6. The last part is where you actually make those sales and make money. :-)

How To Make Money Online (The Re-cap)

To Make Money Online, you are going to need two components.

1. The Leads
2. Your Offers

the same formula is true and used by almost all kinds of businesses (Online or Offline)

For example, if you are running a grocery store, you need prospective customers (leads) to come inside their shop to checkout what you have to offer (which are grocery items)

on the other hand, without offers, the grocery store won’t survive. (obviously)

to make money online, you need to have leads and offers.

The more leads you get, the more “interested people” will see your offer. the more interested people see your offers, the more likely you’ll make a sale.

Focus on this little formula, get it into your head to make more money online.

More Content + More Offers = More Money $$$

The more content you provide via your blog, youtube, facebook or any place on the internet is going to provide you with more traffic that will eventually give you more leads to capture.

The more leads you get, the more money you can potentially make.

The more value you provide your leads, the more likely they would buy your offers

And by presenting more offers either by selling more products or offering your products in different ways is going to result in *you* making more money online.

There are lots of websites out there that teach you how to make money with Google. Most of them, only talks about Google adsense. in this post, I will talk about the different ways that you can do to make money online using Google.

if you own a website, it is much easier to make money with google. That is why I recommend you to start one today if you haven’t already.

Blogs do well with Google. if you don’t know how to make one, I can make one for you free.

if you don’t own a website, that’s also OK. you can still make money with google even if you don’t have a website.

You see, there are different ways that you can do to make money on Google and squeeze out all those money juice from your web site. The first one that I would like to talk about is Google Products.

Make Money Online With Google’s Products

if you are new to internet marketing / make money online, you probably do not understand much of the tools that I am going to mention below. Don’t worry because I will be explaining each in good detail on how you can use these tools to make money online.

However, if you find yourself lost and have a question, don’t hesitate to ask by leaving a comment below. I will answer your questions – asap.

For the record, these Google products do not “actually” make you money. What they do instead is *help you* make more money using your website. how? by maximizing your website’s performance and making your life easier.

The First Google product that I would like to talk about is Gmail.

#1 Gmail by Google

(I bet you already know what this is?)

if you dont, well.. you are leaving under a rock. Gmail is the most popular Web mail service by google. I recommend you get an account if you still have none. Obviously, Gmail is helpful when you are sending/receiving email. But what most beginner web masters don’t know is that you can actually integrate your custom email address with gmail.

Doing so will let you send and receive eMails via gmail using your customized email address.

as an example, I have a custom email that is (admin[at]elie-palima.com) what happens is, I send and receive my emails through gmail using this address.  so, instead of sending/receiving an email as eliepalima@gmail.com, the recipient would actually see the email as admin@elie-palima.com.

Helpful because it increases your brand awareness by getting the recepient see your website domain as the email address and would help people to remember your site more.

if you want to learn how to integrate gmail, these guys did a good job of writing a tutorial about it.

#2 Google Analytics

One of my favorite Google tools.  Tracking is everything especially when you are trying to make money online with a website. without proper tracking, it’s going to make you feel like a blind folded kid trying to hit the Piñata.

This is why I recommend you use the best website tracking tool available on the internet. Google analytics.

it’s free, and will track almost all visitor-activities that is on your site including:

1. traffic = visitors coming to your site (obviously)
2. Search terms visitors used to get to your site
3. What browsers they are using
4. are they using mobile device?
5. social media interations
6. Even live stats/ real time statistics
7. much more cool stuff….

How Google Analytics can help you make more money online is simple. it will report to your most popular pages and see how much a ‘feature on your site is converting and from there, you can do some experiment and ideas that will make you more money.

if you’re running private advertising on your site, Google analytics can help to. Potential advertisers love to see stats and how your website is doing. Showing them a screenshot of your website traffic on google analytics would help alot in closing an advertising sale.

#3 Google Webmaster Tools

Google launched this tool to help webmaster better SEO their website and I use the Google webmaster tools for 2 reasons:

1. to see how Google search engine see my sites
2. Improve my websites’ visibility in Google search results
3. See search terms that are ranking well for my sites

With these kinds of information, it will be easier for you to generate organic traffic to your website. More traffic, more sales potential.

#4 Google Docs

is just like Microsoft office. (but much better)

1. it is a free tool
2. you get to edit your files online
3. you get to collaborate with other users

Google docs is very useful whenever I’m doing/monitoring freelance work. Using Google docs, you can immediately see what your employee is working on and is very helpful for tracking client reports.

#5 Google’s Website Optimizer

useful when you are experimenting on your site’s design. Google website optimizer is a place where you can experiment and split test your web pages and see what design would convert better and it is very useful for alot of things.

I first heard of this tool from Joel Comm. He use this tool to maximize his Google adsense income to over $100,000++ per month.

But, it doesn’t end with google adsense. you can use this to almost everything you want to test convertion with! like, your optin-forms for example or your “buy now buttons”

How good can a “make money online with google” post be without covering Google adsense.

Adsense is another product by Google. Before, I told you about google products that will just help you make money online. This time, it is different.

Google adsense is a product by google that will actually make you money online. How Google Adsense work is basically it’s contextual advertising.

1. You sign up for an account
2. generate an ad-code
3. install that ad-code on your site
4. And BOOM. you make money each time ads are clicked or generated 1,000 impressions

Below is an example of a Google adsense ad:

The key to making lots of money with this program is to generate as much search traffic as possible. if you are able to generate around 30-60,000 visitors a month, there’s a good chance that this program could make you around $1,000- $5,000 per month.

The more traffic you generate, the more clicks and ad impressions you’ll make which would of course, make you more money.

However, if you are thinking that just by plastering your google adsense ads and generating these traffic would make you thousands a month, you should think again.

There is way more to Google adsense that you should learn. 3 of the most important are:

1. Ad Placement

Learning and experimenting on where to place your Google ads will help you maximize the income you are making. Place it somewhere where the visitor might miss it, would lead to less clicks. a good thing to remember is to keep the ads above the fold.

2. Ad Design

if you’re running google ads, then your main concern is to get your visitors click the ads. even if you work on your placement, if your design is bad, it won’t convert well for your site(s).

A good rule of the thumb when designing / placing your Google ads is to…

DO NOT MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE ADS.

the reason is because, Visitors would generally avoid ads and banners on your site. That is why you should work on “blending” the colors and placement of the ads on your site. if you get it to happen, it would lead you to more income.

3. Learning The Adsense Policy

it would be a stupid step if you don’t. You do not want to piss off Google and get your account banned. that is why it is super recommended you learn and read this policy first before starting with the program. it is a short read and would help you a lot.

The Secret To Making More Money With Google Adsense

Most people think that the best way to make money with google is trough their Adsense program. What they don’t know is that Google advertisers are making more money than its publishers.

Google adwords is a place where you can advertise on google’s search results. Remember the Google adsense ads example? these are the guys who own the websites listed. – they are the ones advertising on google.

in many cases, these advertisers are the ones who are making most money with google.

The reason is because, advertising in google leads to more targeted traffic.

Try searching for, “make money online” you will see a result like this:

The advertiser on the very top of the search result is usually the highest bidder for that keyword. if you’re on the very top results, that usually lead to more clicks and traffic that would eventually make the advertiser more money because, the person who is searching for the keyword is targeted.

it is similar to how you make money with Adsense. The difference is, the ads are place on the videos.

Make Money By Being On The Front Page of Google Search Results

This is by far one of the best way to make money with Google.

When you own a website, you want it to be discovered. The best way to do that is by being on the front page in google for your targeted keyword.

Have you done a google search lately? did you ever ask WHY some sites rank higher for a particular keyword? The answer is search engine optimization.

Let’s say your website is about “dog training” and you are someone who is selling Dog training related products.

instead of using Adwords to pay google to list your site on their search results, you can get there for free by doing search engine optimization on your site.

Can you make money on youtube? Yes. You can make money on YouTube. They have a so-called “partnership program” that you can join in and once you get accepted, YouTube will display ads inside your videos that will make you money each time the ads are clicked on or gets 1,000 impressions.

here’s how the ads look like:

Smosh makes lots of money on their ads from their YouTube videos

Sometimes, there can also be ads displayed on the right hand side of the video like this:

watch annoying orange or any other popular youtube channels. You'll see ads like this. and they will make money each time these ads are clicked or viewed 1,000 times

Youtubers like

• Smosh
• Daneboe (creator of annoying orange)
• Shaytards
• Ray William Johnson
• Philip Defranco
• Michelle Phan
• And many other youtube partners (there are thousands of them)

Has been reported to be making an estimated annual income of $300,000+ from the YouTube partnership program alone. And, I can’t blame them if they all quit/forget their ‘regular jobs’ offline because of YouTube.

• it’s an excelent way to make money
• it’s fun
• it gives them The Ultimate Life Goal

but Don’t get too excited yet. There’s a problem.

You won’t get accepted on YouTube’s partnership program easily

The YouTube partnership program will only accept your application if your channel and videos has a lot of views. The number of your Subscribers is another factor.

these things, don’t happen overnight. (unless of course, you have a video that goes viral. but still, that’s not enough to get accepted.)

This is why, I will be sharing with you this video of Michael Buckley of what the buck show. Michael Buckley is one of the most successful YouTube partner in YouTube today and he has been reported to be making $200,000 of annual income from his YouTube videos alone.

Clearly, to make lots of money on youtube, you’re going to need

1. a lot of video views.
2. alot of subscribers
3. Proper branding of your channel
4. of course, get accepted on the partnership program

However, from buckley’s video, I feel there’s something missing and something that he forgot to mention. And that’s having a channel niche.

A niche is basically the main topic that your youtube channel will be covering ie:

• Smosh (humor/comedy)
• Boyce Avenue (music covers)
• michellphan – (makeup tutorials)
• Shaytards (video blog about his life)
• Philip defranco (News blog)

The reason why I suggest you have a niche for your channel is because:

if you focus on a single topic, you’ll be able to reach more audience and it will help your audience avoid confusion. instead of a general channel that posts random video topics.

Another thing I’ve been thinking about to get a successful youtube channel is by copying what your ‘competitors’ (just can’t think of a proper way to describe it) are doing on their videos.

if you’re going to start a humor/comedy like smosh, it’ll probably be best that you copy what they do. of course, DO NOT COPY THEIR VIDEOS THAT WILL BE TOTALLY UNORIGINAL.

what I’m saying is, you :

1. Copy How They Promote Their Brand

an examples is you can have your own logo like what smosh do and display that logo on your video intros

2. Copy How They Get Subscribers and Video Likes

if you go and watch successful youtuber’s videos, most of them encourages their audience to “Subscribe” or “Thumbs up” at the end of each of their videos

3. Copy How They Maximize Revenues From Their Videos

YouTube’s Partnership program is not the only way to make money on YouTube. if you watch smosh videos for example, you’ll see that on each of their videos, there’s always a link pointing to their own website which is another source of income for them.

if you’re able to put all these together, especially Michael buckley’s tip, there’s no doubt you’ll be able to be successful at making lots of money on YouTube.

Bonus Tips To Make More Money On Youtube

Like I said, the youtube partnership program is not the only way to make money on YouTube. Below are more examples and ideas on how you can make more money on YouTube.

#1 Affiliate Marketing

I’ve explained how affiliate marketing works here. if you have a popular youtube video, you can monetize it by promoting affiliate products.

#2 Product Placement

if you have a popular youtube channel, companies may reach you asking you to mention their site or product on your videos. of course, you can either get paid or get free stuff by doing this.

on the other hand, if you’re someone or some company, you can search for popular youtuber and ask them that you would like to have a product placed on one of their videos.

Michelle Phan on Lady GaGa Poker Face Tutorial below. if you fast forward to 1:08 of the video, you’ll see ww.beautychoice.com did a product placement on her video that has 32,138,842 views at the time of this wrting.

IMAGINE how much traffic AND SALES that video brought to beautychoice.com

Greg Jarboe of Search engine watch did an interview with someone from beatychoice.com and said they are making alot of traffic and millions of sales in a year from youtube. you can watch the interview below:

The best part of this is – they never paid the youtubers money. They just gave them products to use for their videos.

#3 Selling Your Products

People are into stories, “see before believing” and connection before buying something. if they are going to buy a car, they should do a test drive first. And that’s what’s great about creating videos and posting them on YouTube. 2 reasons:

2. get to tell a story
3. connect with people
4. get more audience reach

A Good example of companies who does a good job of selling products on youube is the guys over at Dynomighty Design. they have products like bracelets and wallets that are making over $100,000

The rules are simple, find the best blog to guest write on, compose a compelling article, submit your article to the site owner and wait for publication approval. Once your article is accepted, it will be published as a guest post on that particular blog. A published article of course has your author bio which includes a backlink to your site. That’s how a normal guest post marketing works.

But what if your author bio and your backlinks suddenly disappear after a few weeks of publication? All your hardwork are put into waste. I have been doing guest posting for a couple of years now and I always experienced this type of issue. Why some bloggers tends to behave this way? What are the options that you can do to persuade the blog owner to reinsert your author bio and your links? Based on my experiences, I will give you some ways that could possibly help you on reinstating your guest post links.

Ways to acquire your links back to your guest post page

First off, there are different cases why blog owners tends to remove links from their guest post databse. This includes spamming activities, the blog was sold to a new owner, or the blog owner is simply unprofessional. If you know that you are correctly following all the guest post guidelines set by the blog owner, then there is no reason for your links to be removed.

So what are your options? The first thing that you can do is to contact the site owner and ask to reinstate your author bio and your links. Make sure to be polite with your message even though you are totally annoyed. Remember that you are still at the end of the stick and you have no control about the situation. Your second option is to login with the blog’s WordPress dashboard. Most blogs that are built on WordPress platform allows their guest authors to have their own guest writer accounts. If the blog that removed your links offers this option, it is better to check your WordPress dashboard first especially your profile area where your author bio information can be found. Check if the information is intact and then save your work. Refresh your guest article page and see if your author bio and links are back.

Usually, this trick will solve your problem. However, any modifications you did on your WordPress dashboard can be tracked by the site admin so your links will again be in jeopardy. Once the owner removed your links again, then it’s time to contact the blogger and ask for some explanation.

After you contact the blog owner, there is a high probability of a reply since you are considered a “blog partner”. This is your chance to have a constant communication with the site owner until he reinstates your author bio.

But this will not always be the case. Some bloggers won’t answer your email queries for days or weeks. Don’t be discourage and don’t lose hope. What you can do is to send another follow up email because your first message probably ended up in the spam folder and your message wasn’t received.

If the blog owner still never replied to your work, try to leave a comment on one of his posts to get some immediate attention. This way, the blog owner won’t have any excuses that your request wasn’t received.

These practical ways will help you to have your author bio and links back to your guest article. If the blog owner is totally ignoring you after all these methods, then ask for article withdrawal. There is no point in contributing an article to a blog site without even a simple attribution to the author. The blogger will most likely give in to your request and will delete your article. After that, you are free to submit your article to other blogs that accepts guest post.

In summary, guest posting is a very important aspect of Internet marketing. Make sure that you monitor all your published articles on other blogs to keep an eye on your back links which can protect your article investments. Remember that the best way that you can acquire back your links is through proper communications.

2. And The Ones That I do not Recommend

I hope this article would help you out in some way if you are looking to learn how to make money online.

if you’re someone who already has experience with making money online, This article Can Still be a good Refresh about the topic.

Some of The Known and Obvious Ways To Make Money Online:

1. Joining eBay and Craigslist

• These are types of websites where you can buy and sell Physical Goods.
• If you are selling physical products offline, it’s a good idea to sell them on eBay as well.
• They can also be good places to get rid of things that you consider junk

2. Freelancing

• Where You offer services or get Hired to Work as a Virtual employee
• Odesk.com, Freelancer.com and Elance.com are some of the best places you can go when you are looking for ‘freelance work’
• Web Designer, Writer, SEO consultant, Data entry, call center representative are some examples of ‘virtual jobs’ that you can find on the sites I mentioned.
• Alternatively, you can also independently offer your services outside the sites I mentioned. For example, you can:
• Offer your services on forums
• Or by Staring Your own website that primarily focus in selling your services

3. Joining ‘Get Paid to’ sites

I’ve Already done/tried everything on the list above. They are all legitimate ways to make money online. in fact, some of the methods listed above; I still continue to use.

• Me and my wife still sell stuffs on eBay
• I still do freelance work in oDesk
• I’ve joined and tried almost “get paid to’ websites

in fact, if you visit my blog or simply search for my name online, you’ll see me talking a lot about these programs.

They Are All Good sources of making *Extra income* – But not More Than that.

That is Why I do not Recommend You (or any one else) to use These Methods Anymore.

Why I don’t Recommend “Get Paid To”, Freelancing and eBay Anymore:

1. You Make Little Money From These methods
2. The Money you’ll make are inconsistent and not permanent
3. They Take A lot Of Work and time
4. 90% of ‘get paid to’ sites turn into scam – Risky

On Freelancing, you can get paid based on your rate and it Can Still work for you as a part-time income.

But The Problems with freelancing are:

1. You Still have a “Boss” that you need to please
2. Availability is also a ‘must’ in most freelance work.
3. it still takes a lot of work and time (work and time, where you can instead invest in other areas that can make you more money)

Lastly, Get paid to’s, freelancing and eBay Does not Fit The Criteria of *My Ultimate Life Goal*

The Best Ways To Make Money Online

What I am going to show you next are the Best Ways To Make Money Using The Internet. How it works, and how you can make money out of it.

The Methods (except youtube) are done using *your own* website and not any one else and Best of all, you get to be your own boss using these methods.

1. Contextual Advertising

Contextual Advertising a type of ad that you can place inside your website that shows Relevant ads based on your content.

How it Works:

1. You sign up for an ad network (preferably Google Adsense)
2. You copy and paste a piece of code inside your website
3. It will show relevant ads based on the current page where the code is installed
4. You make money Each time someone clicks on the ads displayed on your website.

Contextual Advertising in my opinion is one of the easiest way to make money online. It is very easy to implement on your site (Does not take a lot of work) You can Monetize just about any type of content that you can think of.

Of course, there are more better ways to make money other than contextual advertising and I’m gonna cover that on the rest of this blog post.

#2 – Youtube Partnership Program

The Process Is almost Similar to contextual advertising. The only difference is, this time, the ads are placed inside the videos.

How It Works:

1. You create an interesting video that people would like to watch
2. Get Around 10,000 views on that video
3. Signup for Youtube’s partnership program
4. Once accepted, Youtube will display ads inside your video
5. Just like contextual advertising, you make money Each time ads are clicked or viewed every 1,000 times

independent YouTube Channels like Smosh, The annoying orange, Philip defranco has been reported to be making an annual income of more than $200,000 on Youtube partnership program alone.

#3 – Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a brilliant way to make money online.

• You don’t have to have your own products to make money
• You don’t have to deal with customers
• All you’ll do is promote someone else’s product and get a commission each time you send a customer to the product owner/company

How Affiliate Marketing Works:

• Pick a Product To Promote preferably
• From clickbank or amazon.com
• Generate an “Affiliate” Link for the product you chose to promote
• Promote The Product Online Using Your “Affiliate link”
  Earn a Percentage of the sales the product made

Affiliate Marketing is one of my Favorite Ways to make money.

• With affiliate marketing, I get to setup so-called “affiliate sites” once.
• Leave it…
• And make money from them over and over again
• Even while you sleep, you can make money from affiliate marketing.

#4 – Private Advertising

Is a way where you sell advertisement on your website directly. Private Advertising is a Great Way To Make Money. Unlike contextual advertising or affiliate marketing, you get 100% of the whole profit. Private Advertising comes in many forms but the most common are Banner ads and a text link ads.

Here’s How it Works:

1. You either wait for potential advertisers to contact you or contact them directly asking them to advertise on your site.
2. Make Money Depending on how much you charge for the ad spot on your site.

Private advertising at its best is a very effective way to make money but only if you have good amount of traffic coming to your website. So if your website is new and gets little visitors, advertisers would not likely buy from your site.

This is why a Good Rule Of The Thumb When Doing Private Advertising is to only offer it when you are already receiving at least 1,000 visitors a day on your site.

#5 – Creating or Selling Your Own ‘digital’ Products

You Can Make Money by creating your own products and selling them online.

This Could be Any ‘Digital’ products that you can think of.

1. Ebook
2. Software
3. Video

Why Digital Products?

1. No need for shipping
2. Easier to sell online
3. Easier to make

Creating and Selling my own digital product is something that I haven’t done before. But I am planning to. simply because:

• I believe it is a great way to make money
• Remember affiliate marketing?
• With your own product, you get the chance to have people promote and sell it for you for free!
• That’s one of the Positive side of having your own product.

#6 – Subscription Based Products

This one is similar to creating your own product. The only difference is, you charge your customers on a recurring basis. In my opinion, The ‘Subscription based’ method is the best way to make money because with it, you get continuous flow of income unlike the other methods I mentioned where you only earn money from the customer once.

To give you a good idea about subscription based products (in case you want to start one of your own), Here Are Some Good Examples of websites that implements the subscription based method:

• Hostgator (web hosting company)
• AVG (anti virus software)
• Lynda.com (membership site)
• Aweber (email Marketing Software)

I recommend you visit these sites and see how they are implementing the subscription baed method on their site.

The Subscription Based Method Can Also Be Applied to:

• Affiliate Marketing

- Where instead of promoting a ‘one time’ purchase product ,You can pick/promote ‘subscription based’ products to promote instead.
Hence, give you recurring commisions

• And Your Private Advertisement sales

Where instead of charging a 1 time purchase of the ad spot on your site, you can make it a subscription-based payment instead in a way, that advertisers need to pay you on a per month basis.

(Bonus Way) = Getting Donations

I do not really see this as a “best way” to make money but it is worth mentioning since I see some sites that have good success with this.

You can earn extra revenue from your site by asking for donations.

How it Works:

• You simply put a donate button on your site (preferably from Paypal)
• You make money each time someone donates
• If you like, you can also place ‘Amazon wish list widget’ on your site.
• You might never know, someone could actually give you donations
• But again, I do not see getting donations as a way to make money. I just think this could be a
