Spy Daddy is here! And yes, I know we're not here for Alias, but it still warms my heart to see Victor Garber sitting up there onstage with the fantastic cast and crew of the awesome Eli Stone.

Eli's press session at ABC's Press Tour was especially juicy, so here are the goods:

George Michael May Be Back: Executive producer Greg Berlanti said scheduling the show's iconic, pilot-episode guest star for more episodes has been tricky, but they are working on making it happen. "We've been talking about a Christmas episode [George Michael] would do around our ninth episode, so he may come back for that."

Katie Holmes Might Return: After the panel, Eli producer Marc Guggenheim told me exclusively that Katie, who is shooting in the next few days, might return. "There is absolutely the possibility for the character to recur. She's wonderful and if she wants to come back, she's more than welcome."

More on Katie: "We really wanted to bring eyeballs to the show and do anything we could to get people talking about the show," says Berlanti. "I said I can go ask Katie and see if she's interested, and I went and I begged her and she said, 'I'd love to.' She [plays] an attorney, [although] not practicing law in the episode. She is not just in one or two scenes. She is in a significant portion of the scenes. She is singing and dancing, but we do want to keep some of that a secret."

After the panel, Jonny Lee Miller (Eli himself) told me: "Apart from the fact that Katie is extremely hardworking and a really, really nice person to have around the set, we did 17 hours yesterday and most of her time was spent dancing. We had a big long scene to do, and she did not bat an eye. She was a really really great person to have, and for us, it's hopefully going to help us."

This Season, Eli Goes Public: "That was always our plan, to end the season with having the brain aneurysm removed," Berlanti said. "And in the season premiere, we'll find out definitively whether he is a prophet...This year is about Eli embracing being a prophet and how people around him embrace that as he becomes more public." Berlanti added that the visions and singing and dancing won't stop, especially because Eli is following Dancing With the Stars this year on ABC's fall schedule. "We will open a few episodes with dancing numbers, because we are shameless like that," he said.

Slightly Spoilery Scoop: Berlati told me that somebody other than Eli has a vision this season—that another character's life is in jeopardy. Actor Jason George (Keith Bennett) referred to the people surrounding Eli as his "apostles." Interesting, no?

In arguably the biggest piece of stunt casting since How I Met Your Mother lassoed Britney Spears, sources confirm to me exclusively that Katie Holmes is returning to the small screen this fall on ABC's sophomore drama, Eli Stone. A spokesperson for the show declined to comment, but I'm told Suri's mama is on board for one episode.

The gig, which should give a nice boost to the critically-adored but marginally-rated series, marks a reunion between Holmes and her former Dawson's Creek boss, Eli exec producer Greg Berlanti. After shooting her eppy later this month, Mrs. Tom Cruise will head to New York, where she'll be making her Broadway debut this fall in a revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

ABC will launch this fall with perhaps the most stable schedule of any network in years.

As expected, Alphabet web revealed a fall 2008 lineup that looks a lot like its fall 2007 sked – and that’s by design.

Just two new series made it on the sked: A revised U.S. adaptation of hit BBC thriller “Life on Mars,” and Ashton Kutcher-produced reality skein “Opportunity Knocks.”

"We're returning our dominant core group of shows from last fall," McPherson said. "The few openings we had we've filled with the kind of quality programming viewers have come to expect from ABC, and we have a very strong bench."

Also new to ABC, as expected: "Scrubs," which bows on the Alphabet on Tuesdays at 9 pm in the winter, while the "Dancing with the Stars" results show is on hiatus. "Scrubs" will be paired with new animated half-hour "The Goode Family," from Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.

Also in midseason: The untitled Tyra Banks/Ashton Kutcher show, which will air Mondays at 8 during the "Dancing" break.

ABC went into the upfronts with most of its major freshman entries renewed for next year. What’s more, many of the Alphabet net’s pilots have yet to be shot – and ABC Entertainment prexy Steve McPherson made it clear that he wouldn’t schedule any new shows without first seeing some tape.

ABC’s decision to stick with a mostly stable sked is also recognition that the net was performing well in the fall – until the writers strike, and of course “American Idol,” halted that momentum.

Here’s how ABC’s fall sked stacks up:

That means Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are mostly the same as last season. In the plum post- “Grey’s Anatomy” slot, the twisty time-travel storyline on “Mars” seems even more natural given the show it will temporarily replace: The twisty time-travel adventures of “Lost,” which is back in midseason.

Other returning series include "According to Jim" and ABC News' "Primetime: What Would You Do?"

Eli Renewed! October Road Axed! Moonlight Dead?

Renewals and cancellations are flying fast and furious on this, the first official day of "upfront" week. Here's the latest:

• Eli Stone has been renewed for a second season. (Woo-hoo!)

• October Road has been canceled. (Boo-hoo!)

• CBS is expected to bring The Unit back, and may slot it on Fridays at 9 pm. What does that mean for Moonlight? Good question.

• Also at CBS, How I Met Your Mother is a shoo-in to return for a fourth season, although Old Christine remains a question mark. ABC, however, is almost certain to scoop it up should Les Moonves pass.

Even more surprising is Klein's co-counsel -- Maggie. Meanwhile, Taylor begins to fall for Matt, and Jordan fights to remain head of the firm.

Fret no more! It looks like Beth, the V-card stealer from the pilot, will be back by the Mar. 27 episode, but which Stone is she there for? Hmmm... Also, someone else in that episode, titled "I Want Your Sex," will be getting some serious lovin', and I didn't completely hate the idea of it, but you might!

David from San Diego: More Eli Stone please!
There's going to be a new twist on the visions as Eli will be flashing back, in his brother's shoes, to his past in order to find out more about his father's death. That should be depressingly interesting. Also, Eli may be on the way to recovery through a tricky procedure that is clearly dangerous. As Eli points out, "It's just like getting your appendix out... if your appendix was buried deep in a vital part of your brain."

A man claimes that a major earthquake will destroy the Golden Gate Bridge on a specific day soon. When nothing is done, the man goes to Eli and they sue the city of San Francisco. The mayor decides to err on the side of caution and closes the bridge.

Episode 1.13 - Soul Free
A man has battled, and beaten, cancer twice but the disease has spread to his brain. He is a former workaholic, married to a rabbi, and decides that instead of fighting it a final time and suffering, he wants to enjoy his last few months with his wife and kids. His wife does not believe that he knows what he is doing and tries to get him declared incompetent.
