Four Simple Teas To Warm You Up and Cheer Your Heart

I love sipping on hot tea.

Tea is the perfect comfort in a cup.
When you need time out reach for the tea (or yes coffee for my die hard coffee lovers, but back to tea today).

Sometimes I get over milk and heavy tea drinks and I want something refreshing that is still warm and has that cleansing feel that makes your heart feel content.

These 4 teas below fit the bill and will leave you pouring a second cup. They keep you hydrated yet provide the comfort you need. They are a one cup wonder too so no tea pots just easy ingredients straight into the cup.

These are well worth trying. Besides they look so pretty and everyone deserves to enjoy a pretty drink.

Let me know how you went if you're game to try.

Recipe:

Boil that jug with fresh water.
In your favourite tea cup place 1/4 cup of cold water. (This stops the boiling water from scolding the ingredients and causing them to make the water bitter)
Add in your fresh ingredients of choice.
Pour in boiled water.
Find a lovely place to sit and sip.

Fresh Ingredients:
1) Lemon basil tea. Slice of lemon and two fresh basil leaves cut into strips.
2) Lemon Ginger. 1 slice of lemon and a small piece of fresh ginger root.
2) Sage and honey. 3 sage leaves and 1/3 teaspoon of honey.
3) Mint leaf. 3 or 4 mint leaves.

Note: When using fresh ingredients try and get organic, pesticide free.

Why I Love Lipstick

I love lipstick.

If I could only choose one make-up product to wear it is always going to be lipstick.

Yet, in loving lipstick over the last few years I became stuck in a rut. I only wore the same two shades - a neutral brown pink and a deep red with a touch of you guessed it brown for special occasions. I am shuddering!!!! Why???

Then Fox In Flats style dare came along, a fashion photo challenge to wear and try new styles and trends with fashion and with your makeup. Orange lipstick, bright pink lipstick, red lipstick have all been on the list.

I wore and I fell in love.

Fresh, vibrant, beautiful and fun. Different shades where changing my look all with a simple swipe of colour.

I have not touched my old lipsticks since.

I am now a lipstick queen who loves nothing more then to try new colours. It has made me feel pretty, on trend, and womanly and there is nothing wrong with feeling all three of these. Yes please!

Lipstick, all sorts and types from gloss, to vibrant, to pale and pastel and just the down right pretty are beautiful.

Go on change up that lipstick, it the only way to go. You will feel alive.

Mission Beautiful Explained over a Cuppa.

I love it when women see themselves for the beauty and amazing creation they are.

Grab a cuppa cause I am sharing a piece of my heart with you today. I need you to listen, I want to be heard, I want you to understand and today I simply want to encourage your gorgeous heart while you encourage mine.

My piece of heart.

I had the most wonderful mother. Growing up I adored my mother. She was everything a mother was supposed to be to me. Kind, caring, fun, full of hugs and kisses and everything nice, she could bake a mean cupcake, she always smelled soft, and so much more. She was so pretty and so sweet.

Yet, by the time I was entering my teens I began to realize that there was something going on in my mother and it was not right, she was not right...

My mother had bipolar, she was depressed, my mother was skin and bones anorexic, my mother was bulimic, my mother was so unhappy. The truth was that my mother could no longer see herself.
It was devastating to watch, heart wrenching to see someone so beautiful become destroyed. I won't go into the reasons why, responsibilities or faults as there are none worth discussing, no blame to lay. Only know that it has left scars on me, it has left a mission on me.

From that time on I have only wanted one thing for us women and that is to see ourselves.
I want us - you - to see the amazing, mysterious, beautiful person that you are in all diversity, in our different cultures and customs and in our uniqueness. I want us to understand that of all creation "women" was created to be the most beautiful, glorious wonder and that no one else can carry the heart of love, giving, sacrifice, courage, strength, understanding, song, purpose and so much more in the way that we do.

When a women sees herself she then knows who she is - valuable, an undefined beauty, important, significant, worthy and with a voice of action that matters and can make a big change in this world. She can stand and face anything, she is not to be messed with, and the world truly turns in a different direction when she speaks real truth and shares her spirit. Don't get me started with what magic happens when she smiles or better laughs. She is powerful and this is beauty incomparable.

When a women sees herself there is no more striving to be something she is not, false body image expectations fade, unattainable high pressure goals disappear and conforming to lies from mistakes, the media, trends, or disbelief in ourselves whether whispered from ourselves or worse spoken by others we can kick to kingdom come!!!!

I am on a mission - mission beautiful - so you can see you, individually, one of a kind, perfect in our imperfections (yep you don't have to be perfect to be absolutely beautiful) and standing strong. You will change the world if you see you and see others for who they are too.

It did not end well for my mother because she never saw herself again and I never got to see her again either. Sadly she committed suicide when I was 19.

So, now you know why I am so passionate about women knowing their value, importance and beauty from the inside to the out and passing this on to our daughters and there daughters.
My mother is beautiful, that never changed despite it all. She just could not see it any more. My mother is amazing, valuable, gorgeous, fun and so courageous and brave for living with the battle she did inside her mind that stole her physical body.

Know this forever that you and me and women everywhere are the beautiful with every breath, through every age, forever. This is truth and you' re allowed to walk it everyday.

I love it when women know how beautiful they really are and can see the amazing beauty they bring to the world.

It's no secret that I am not afraid to champion us women in all our dreams, desires, ideas and simply just because. It's no secret that I also love my Instagram photo taking too - a lot!!!
So I have combined the two and created my own Instagram photo mission challenge. It is called Mission Beautiful. I have joined the party.

In truth I am doing this for myself especially and for anyone who wants to join. I really believe that the more women who know how gorgeous they are and how what they - you - uniquely and diversely bring and share from beauty, inner courage, love, fun and strength to the world the better. Dance lifts your soul.

I love dance!

Today I am doing a little dance. It's for many reasons.

Firstly, I am back blogging and sharing with you the things I love now that my Internet connection dramas are over - hey it happens to the best of us. :) The best bit is I get to come and visit your blogs (if you do) and catch up on all your beautifulness.

Secondly, it is Wednesday and that means middle of the week joy. Live your dreams sweethearts, go on get right on in them this middle of the week!!!

Thirdly, because it's fun, it feels freeing, liberating and like you are letting the very core of you out to just take over and have a moment.

The Yummiest Immune Boosting Pumpkin Soup Ever.

Totally beautiful and yummy food:

I love pumpkin soup.

Total comfort, packed full of flavour and this one is perfect to boost your immune to help chase away those seasonal change sniffles.

This pumpkin soup is loaded with garlic and onions which have been scientifically proven to aid your immune system in fighting any bugs and viruses. It also has an extra kick of garlic, basil and olive oil in a pesto for better health and well being. This soup is a major win and totally delicious. One bowl will not be enough.

Super Boost Pumpkin Soup:

Around 3 - 4 cups of chunky chopped pumpkin pieces.
2 cups vegetable stock
2 medium onions quartered
2 medium potatoes
2 cloves garlic grated.
1 tsp of butter
olive oil
salt and pepper
pesto - click here for my recipe from my Mediterranean feast.

Placed roughly chopped pumpkin on a oven tray and roast in a hot oven till soft and browning.
Meanwhile prepare pesto. (Optional)
Next, peel and chop potatoes into chunky pieces and either steam or boil till soft and drain any water off.
Remove pumpkin from oven.
In a large saucepan add the grated garlic, butter, splash of olive oil and onion and cook for 2 min on medium high heat.
Add in 1 1/2 cups of vegetable stock and bring up to the boil then reduce heat to a low simmer.
Add cooked potato and roast pumpkin and simmer for 5 minutes.
Wizz or blend soup together adding any extra vegetable stock if needed till soup is a smoothish texture.
Return the soup back to the saucepan if needed and place over low heat. Mix through 1 tbs of cream (adding cream is optional depending on how healthy you want to be).
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve in a lovely bowl with a generous amount of pesto and a dob of extra cream.

A Little Something Extra: The Best and Too Easy Hot Chocolate Recipe

3 tsp of your favourite drinking chocolate powder

Milk

1 tsp of rice malt syrup (optional or can use either brown sugar or goldern syrup)

Marshmallows

Cream

More drinking chocolate

Straw

Cute cup or mug

Fill your favourite mug or cup with 3 teaspoons of drinking chocolate powder and the rice malt syrup if using. Otherwise you could add some golden syrup or brown sugar. (Rice malt syrup is found in your health food aisle and is a golden runny maltose sweetener that has a mild, soft caramel taste to it. It's totally good for you as your body uses it for energy and not icky fat storage like processed sugars.)

Fill mug or cup with milk to fill just under 1/2 the mug or cup and float in any marshmallow.

Pour boiled water into the mug or cup to fill it up and make warm.

Top with a dollop of cream out of a container or the spray whipped canned type for super ease.

Dust with more drinking chocolate and add a cute straw.

Make a couple and share with the loves in your world.

Totally Yummy Food - The Easiest Soup To Make Ever

I love easy, practically lazy cooking and I love soup.

Satisfying, scrummy, heart warming, and real comfort food.

Today I have two easy, and I mean easy, soup recipes that satisfy and are just for you and your tummy =
selfish soup for you cause sometimes you just need you and a bowl of deliciousness.

Now I know that some of you like peas and some of you don't and some of you like corn and some of you don't so take your flavour pick. It's one recipe either using peas or corn and some extra elements to add a burst of flavour, just too easy.

The Easiest Soup:

1 cup of vegetable stock
1 1/2 cup of either peas or corn kernels (I used frozen)
1 small onion peeled and quartered
1/2 a clove garlic (or more depending on your garlic needs) finely grated
Salt and pepper to taste.

Flavour Enhancers That Take It To Eleven:
Pea soup: Smoked salmon, sour cream or goats cheese, dried mint.
Corn soup: Salami of choice (I like mine hot), sour cream or goats cheese, dried basil.

Place stock, peas/corn, garlic, salt, any pepper and onion into a saucepan and bring to just boiling then reduce heat to simmer for around 5 - 7 minutes. Remove and pour into a blender and wizz to a thick soup consistency.
Fry in a dry pan salmon or salami till crispy.
Pour soup into a cute bowl and top with either the smoked salmon or salami, sour cream or cheese and sprinkle with dried herbs and any extra salt and pepper according to your taste buds.

Be selfish, live in the soup comfort moment and enjoy.

I love a simple crisp white shirt.

Oh there are so many ways to wear a white shirt and it is classic, classic, on-trend stylin.

Long sleeve, mid sleeve or short sleeve. Collared, buttons, cuffs - down or rolled up.
Wear with jeans, slacks, skirts, over your swim suit, or in the morning alone...
Keep it simple or glam and accessories it up.

The sky really is the limit with a white shirt and you can't go wrong.

You must have one or two in that wardrobe, it's a must.

8. Golden haze we were just about to drive through. It was as if a sun ray had fallen just in this spot and when actually in it, we were golden blinded, I thought I was going to crash the car into one in front cause we lost visual in it's sparkle. You will totally swoon over her love of op shop and vintage wears too. Yes I want a home cooked meal out of one of her amazing vintage casserole dishes or a cheerful cup of tea out of her vintage cups.

Elaina is one of those wonderful friends for life kind and she is just that so very kind and friendly.
