I know, I know, I know, I haven't updated the site in months. During this time, I've been battling heavy depression and suicidal thoughts - a problem I had as a teenager some 8-9 years ago. It nearly ended my life then, and because I was worried I might end up killing myself now, I've basically shut down most of my life in order to deal with it.

But it has been getting better, slowly but surely, and I do expect to get back to work soon. And why choose today to make this update, despite the fact that I'm not fully recovered? Because it's the 2nd year anniversary of this site. There's a *sorta* happy thought.

Ellen Page has signed on to play the iconic title character in BBC's film adaptation of the British novel Jane Eyre. It just wouldn't be another five years without a new Jane Eyre film.

Ellen is among some 30+ celebrities in a month-long online video campaign supporting Burmese Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. In her skit, which is set to air on Sunday, Ellen will draw a Hitler mustache on a portrait of Burmese military leader Than Shwe.

For the uninformed (and I wouldn't blame you), Suu Kyi is the National League for Democracy party leader in Burma and won the general election in 1990. She would have assumed the role of Prime Minister, but the military refused to hand over any power, and since then, Suu Kyi has been under house arrest for over 12 years, and has been in detention since 2003. During that time, she has received many awards, including a Nobel Peace Prize.

Ellen Page, taking down lesbian rumors on SNL?

Ellen's turn at SNL was, for the most part, pretty bad, but it ended with with a sketch that'll be talked about for awhile.

There are two things I make of this sketch, which are two things I've been saying about Ellen all along:

1. She isn't a lesbian. It's a comedy sketch, it's meant to poke fun at rumors, not to confirm someone's sexuality.
2. As suggested by Andy Samberg's line at the end, even if she was, it just shouldn't matter.

Ellen dragged out of Hell

For the past month, it seemed like Ellen Page was signing up for a new movie every other day. Today however, it was announced that Ellen will drop out of Drag Me to Hell due to a change in the start date of production, which caused conflict with her schedule.

Juno goes 1-for-4 at Oscars

As I had predicted, Diablo Cody (original screenplay) picked up the lone award Juno won at the Oscars.

I did fairly well with the rest of my predictions. Here are the ones I missed:
Best Picture (No Country won, I picked There Will Be Blood)
Best Supporting Actress (Tilda Swinton won, I picked Cate Blanchett)

In some way, I'm actually a bit relieved that Ellen Page didn't win because quite honestly, Ellen really wouldn't deserve the award if she did. I say that as the seemingly lone Ellen Page fan who isn't passionately blind.

Juno hits DVD and Blu-ray April 15th

Juno, which is still in the box office top 10, will be hitting store shelves on April 15th.

There will be two different DVD editions - a single-disc and a two-disc. The two-disc edition will have audio commentary by Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody, four making-of featurettes ("Way Beyond 'Our' Maturity Level: Juno - Leah - Bleeker", "Diablo Cody Is Totally Boss", "Jason Reitman For Shizz" and "Honest To Blog!"), eleven deleted scenes, three outtake reels ("Gag Reel", "Gag Takes", "Cast and Crew Jam") and screen tests.

The Blu-ray version will contain everything the two-disc DVD edition will, plus two TV specials - "Fox Movie Channel Presents: World Premiere - Juno" and "Fox Movie Channel Presents: Casting Session - Juno".

Those of you with HD-DVD players are screwed, but you should have known that two years ago.

Looks like Ellen Page has signed on for another movie - a psychological thriller named "Peacock" which also stars Cillian Murphy. This is like... what... the third movie she's signed on for in the past 30 days?

The title is derived from tiny Peacock, Neb., where Murphy's character, a split personality, fools the town into believing his two alter egos are man and wife. Page plays a struggling young mother who holds the key to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities.

The Hollywood Reporter reports (I don't feel like wording that any better) that Ellen will host the first post-strike episode of Saturday Night Live on March 1st. Ellen's a funny gal, but I've never seen her as an SNL style kind of funny. Sounds interesting though.

Correction: Tina Fey is hosting the first post-strike SNL episode, the Saturday preceding Ellen.

Ellen will be a guest on Barbara Walters' annual pre-Oscar special, which airs the hour preceding the awards. She makes sense as a guest, but you're going to be scratching your head as to why Harrison Ford, Vanessa Williams and Miley Cyrus are also guests.

Ellen Page has apparently been casted for Sam Raimi's first horror film in some 16 years. The film, titled "Drag Me to Hell" is reportedly a "morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse".

During the DICE summit yesterday, former Eidos president Keith Boesky mentioned a "casual" game based on Juno is in development. I wonder how one makes a videogame out of Juno. This will probably end up more hilarious than the movie.

Ellen is among ten actresses gracing the cover of Vanity Fair's annual "Hollywood" issue. She isn't on the "front" cover though, but rather one of the fold-out flaps.

The other actresses sharing the spotlight are Emily Blunt, Amy Adams, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Alice Braga, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin and America Ferrera. The theme is "the fresh faces of 2008", which totally explains why Jessica Biel and Anne Hathaway is there.

A behind-the-scenes video is also up on Vanity Fair's website. And here I thought each actress was individually shot and then Photoshopped together.

Religious website Beliefnet apparently has film awards, and Juno is up for "Best Spiritual Film" and Ellen for "Best Spiritual Performance". Quite honestly, I'm not sure what either had to do with religion or spirituality.

Rise of the hamburger phones

Apparently, sales of hamburger phones (one memorable prop from Juno) have increased over 700% on eBay since the release of Juno. Then again, I doubt hamburger phones were exactly selling before the movie had come out.
