I packed up my model railroad in this box and appended this note nearly two decades ago and dropped it in my parents’ basement. Well… Today after visiting model railroad mecca Northlandz, we are cracking it open. So MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Grandma and Grandpa Ellsworth! (I just hope it works.)

While I haven’t seen this reported elsewhere, it definitely stays in line with Apple’s heavy-handed techniques in the past. Which is too bad. I thought this was a pretty cool approach on Toyota’s part, but with this turn of events I think commenter Eagleye says it best, “…looks like even Toyota is Apple’s b!tch…”

The opening sentence says it all: “Online video’s next big challenge may just be the bathroom break.”

Interesting article that posits that connected devices make online video more like “plain old TV” with both the good and bad aspects. And the bad aspects can be exacerbated by trying to cram too much advertising (e.g. the same amount as traditional TV) into the online video ad breaks.

Food for thought.
