<p> With a looming recession swirling over the euro-zone, the global economy continues to seem shaky. But despite the stress to markets being seen around the globe, countries like Canada are experiencing a slight rebound. And according to recent surveys published by Manitoba HR consulting and career management firm People First HR Services, and national firm Manpower Canada, there seems to be an upward trend in employment and recruitment metrics throughout the country. Canada, it seems, will remain steady in 2012.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The survey results clearly show that employers have recognized the need to attract and retain top talent, particularly those organizations who suffered staffing and set-backs through the recession, says Colleen Coates of People First HR Services. This is especially the case for executive and management positions, according to the 2011/2012 Compensation Survey for Manitoba. We are seeing salary increases across most employee groups trending back to normal pre-recession levels, says Colleen. A quick look at the Government of Canadas employment outlook website indicates an overall good employment climate in Manitoba.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>But apart from Manitoba, wider Canadian employment prospects are looking up as well. According to a study done by Manpower Canada, the first quarter of 2012 will see a slight improvement in country-wide employment rates. Approximately 16% of Canadian employers are looking to increase their payrolls in Q1 2012 while 71% expect to maintain their current staffing levels. The mining, financial services and wholesale &amp; retail trade sectors all anticipate upbeat and positive hiring climates in the beginning of the New Year. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>And despite a cut in 17,000 jobs between August and November 2011, there are still, on net, 152,000 more people employed in Canada than before the recession, lowering our overall unemployment rate to 7.4%. Partly due to this, Canada will retain a top position among world economies in 2012, flying in the face of 2011s volatility. If one looks around the world, however, they might see a different picture. Debt remains high all over as growth expectations continue on a downward trend, spurred by the euro-zone crisis. And according to a UN Report high unemployment (and a deficit of 64 million jobs worldwide) is partially responsible for reinforcing the weakening of the world economy. The fight to close in on unemployment, says the UN, will last well beyond 2015.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>

<p> PROINSO, a company that supplies modules, inverters, trackers and fixed structures for ground- or roof-mounted PV systems, supplied a total 303 MW in modules and inverters in 2011 that were installed in solar projects around the world. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Thanks to last years turnover, PROINSO, a company of OPDE Group, delivered a total 1,115 MW to different countries, thus hitting a record high and becoming one of the worlds leading companies in the solar industry.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The 2011 figures include 106 MW in modules and 197 MW in inverters. European and North American markets (US and Canada) accounted for 83% of PROINSOs sales last year, which makes them the companys main markets. It is worth pointing out that Germany and the US posted a leap in the last quarter.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Compared to only three years ago, there has been a market reshuffle, since in 2008 100% of PROINSOs PV solar product sales were recorded in Spain, whereas last year the Spanish market accounted for 12% of the volume sold. It is worth mentioning that products sold to Spanish EPC contractors sometimes went to projects carried out in other countries, like Italy, which would mean exports are being underestimated at present. Nearly 88% sales were foreign sales in 2011, which shows the accelerated pace of PROINSOs international expansion in the past three years.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Company sources also stress PROINSOs bid on such emerging markets as Eastern European countries, Croatia, Morocco, Israel, Middle Eastern countries, Algeria, Libya, Turkey, China, Australia, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and India. In India, the company started operating in 2011, supplying 35 MW in solar products so far. The sales share in these emerging markets was 5%. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>PROINSO Marketing Manager Teresa Marticorena remarks, We expect our bid on international expansion to be successful in terms of rise in sales, with a 15% share in these emerging markets over the next years and a reduction of the share of European markets in terms of global sales.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>PROINSO has branches in Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy, US, UK, France, Canada, China and Czech Republic, and a Network of Qualified Installers with 1,900 members.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The multinational company has distribution agreements with Trina Solar, Canadian Solar, Schott Solar and REC for modules, and with SMA for inverters. In addition, it is a global distributor of MECASOLAR trackers and fixed structures.</p>

<p>International Network with 1,900 Qualified Installers</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The sustained growth of business in the past years was broadly based on PROINSOs strong International Network of Qualified Installers, made of 1,897 companies that have helped achieve this high sales volume. The Network was established two years ago, and the number of both installers and additional services provided by PROINSO has grown exponentially since then. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The countries with the largest numbers of PROINSO Qualified Installers are Italy (725) US (352), Spain (192), Germany (167), Greece (147), France (81) and the UK (47). These companies have at least three years experience in the solar industry and teams of engineers and installers capable of designing and carrying out solar projects.</p>

<p>The Network has also reached Austria, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guyana, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Nigeria, Netherlands, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine, all of them countries in which PROINSO is delivering products at present. </p>

<p> On January 23nd, co-sponsors Elements Caregiver Collective, Compassion First Collective and Southwest Arizona Patient Alliance (SWAPA) will present their petition to add Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a debilitating illness to the list of illnesses that qualify for Medical Marijuana Therapy.   Most often associated with veterans who have been in active combat, PTSD can affect anyone who has suffered through a traumatic event.  One in five veterans returning from Iran and Afghanistan are affected by PTSD.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>It is a glaring omission that no mental health illnesses were included in the initial list, said Corey Miller, collective manager and MMJ patient. Veterans who are suffering PTSD are effectively barred from the opportunity to treat their symptoms with cannabis.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Miller, a decorated veteran of Afghanistan and Purple Heart recipient, uses cannabis to treat the ongoing chronic pain and inflammation from his war injuries. I could not manage ten hours on my feet without medicating.  I couldnt work if I had to take morphine or vicodin.  I am less productive, less responsive when I use opioids.  </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>While medicating to treat his physical injuries, Miller experienced firsthand that medical marijuana alleviated his PTSD symptoms as well. It helps manage the general anxiety and sleeplessness. I can avoid the harsher drugs that I find incapacitating. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>According to VP of Operations, Ingrid Joiya, &#8220;Given the ongoing research and anecdotal stories regarding how medical marijuana has helped patients suffering from PTSD, Elements is committed to serving those persons impacted by this mental health issue. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>&#8220;We are cautiously optimistic that the Arizona Department of Health Services will be receptive of the application.  Director Humble has shown a tremendous degree of professionalism and commitment to implementing the rules which include the procedure to add debilitating illnesses.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Recent court decisions lift the hold on the dispensary component of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (AZMMA) and the final details on execution are being worked out.  More than 16,000 patients and 700 caregivers have been licensed by the Arizona Department of Health.  </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Since Governor Jan Brewer has now dismissed the state of Arizonas court action enabling the dispensary program to move forward, a celebratory event will be co-sponsored by Elements and Kush Club. <p>Launched in late 2011, the program provides and funds education, fitness and nutrition resources for all CAP360 corporate office associates. A personal trainer and nutritionist work together with employees both individually and as teams, and software has been installed to help associates manage goals and track their progress.</p>

<p>Ken Wade was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a systematic disease that predominantly affects the lungs. &#8220;Id lost a lot of weight and muscle and was so weak I couldnt walk, much less work. I started treatment, and then worked with our personal trainer on regaining balance and agility. We moved on to cardio, strength and building stamina. Ive gained 40 pounds and I feel like Im back where I used to be. The program was the best thing that ever could have happened.&#8221;</p>

<p>Karen Mantuia shares his enthusiasm. Since the programs inception, shes shed nearly 100 pounds.
