This release adds update notifications and addresses some less common Word import issues.

• Observes Advanced Options for Updates settings from WordsFlow’s import options when updating links created by non-WordsFlow import filters (such as Adobe’s Microsoft Word, RTF, or Text filters). WordsFlow first looks for document-level merge settings saved with WordsFlow > Edit Import Options for Document and then for workspace-level merge settings saved with WordsFlow > Edit Import Options for New Documents. If no saved settings are found, default settings are used (legacy behavior). This change provides greater control over change tracking, table column/row movement, and style mapping when updating stories that don’t use WordsFlow’s import options.
  
  If your link update of a placed .doc file is unstable, you can now disable WordsFlow’s default generation of change tracking as a step towards making it more reliable. With nothing selected in the active document, select File > WordsFlow > Edit Import Options for Document and then select Advanced Options for Updates. In the sub-dialog, change the Change Tracking setting to None, select OK and then OK, and then try your link update again.
• Fixes a problem that resulted in missing content when importing a Word document containing table cells that use Content Control (OOXML structured document tags).
• Fixes a problem that caused imports of Word documents containing an unnamed numbering level to fail with a “TypeError” message.
• Fixes a Word import problem that resulted in the loss of a table cell’s text direction.
• Fixes a problem that caused link updates of stories containing images to, in rare situations, fail with a “KeyError” message.
• Restores compatibility with InDesign 2024’s 19.0 release while maintaining compatibility with newer InDesign 2024 releases.
• Adds an application startup alert and a Download Newer Version menu item when a new version of WordsFlow becomes available. The alert is only shown once for any given release, while the menu item remains available until the plug-in is actually updated.
• Actively fetches WordsFlow’s version status in its About dialog.

This release adds update notifications and fixes a couple of problems.

• Fixes Clear All Links > in Selection when used with table cells to redraw the document with the cleared links’ markers removed. Previously, markers were left showing for the table cells’ cleared links until something else caused the document to redraw.
• Removes any practical limit on the number of fields that may appear in a DD or a data snapshot. (It used to be 512 but is now a little over 32,000.)
• Fixes a long-standing problem that leaves a snapshot’s index file (the “.x” file that appears next to the data file) stuck open if an error occurs during a Create Data or while re-creating the data snapshot at close.
• Adds an application startup alert and a Download Newer Version menu item when a new version of InCatalog becomes available. The alert is only shown once for any given release, while the menu item remains available until the plug-in is actually updated.
• Actively fetches InCatalog’s version status in the About dialog.

This release introduces a new set contents of statement.

This patch mainly addresses issues when importing directly from an Excel file.

• Preserves rich-text override formatting when importing data directly from Excel worksheets. Behind the scenes, InData uses XPress Tags to capture font, font size, and font face (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, and subscript) changes where they differ from the cell’s base style (“Normal”, “Good” or “Bad,” for example). If any tags are inserted, InData forces defaultisstyled to true for the import such that all fields are «put», by default, as styled XPress Tags. If you have fields that need to ignore Rich Text, use «put nonstyled» for them in your prototype.
• Fixes the disappearance of special characters (like bullets) when importing directly from an Excel file.
• Fixes a problem introduced in the 3.5.1 release that could cause scripted imports to fail with a “[P19] This type of anchored item is not currently supported” error for prototypes containing anchored pictures (and other normally-recognized anchored items).

This patch fixes scripting and extraction issues.

• Fixes a problem introduced in the 2.35.1 release that could cause the data set saved by Create Data and Create Data File to be incomplete if contains page numbers extracted with the # qualifier.
• Fixes a problem introduced in the 2.35.1 release that could cause scripted updates to skip links on (or in) anchored items.
• Fixes a scripting problem where an update with selectedFrame when there is no currently-selected frame could cause the application to shut down.

This patch fixes string comparisons that should be case insensitive.

• Fixes a problem introduced in the 3.5.1 release that made the string comparison operators is, =, is not, !=, is in, is not in, and contains case sensitive (such that "a" = "A" was incorrectly reporting false, for example). With this release, "a" once again equals "A" (and "å" and "Ä" and…). (macOS only)

• Works around yet another incompatibility introduced by Adobe with their InDesign 2026 21.2 release that can cause the application to shut down when a hyperlink, cross-reference, or text anchor is inserted.
• Restores compatibility with InDesign 2026’s 21.0, 21.0.1 and 21.0.2 releases (compared with InCatalog 2.35.2) while maintaining compatibility with newer InDesign 2026 releases.
• Restores compatibility with InDesign 2024’s 19.0 release while maintaining compatibility with newer InDesign 2024 releases.
