e-MaHE - a good start!

Blogs, known as virtual “diary“, become an important part of our life, of our interpersonal relationships, of our daily experience sharing. When our idea of starting e-MaHE became more and more developed in terms of design, structure and content, the decision of including a blog was pretty obvious. I started thinking about themes for the first writings, about how we decided to make e-MaHE, about our experience of working together, about the first frustrations, about the enthusiastic welcome of the project inside INCHER, even about the preparation “behind the curtains”.

But so much happened until now, that I can write for days; therefore I will pick some memorable experiences of our last couple of weeks.

I have some nice memories from the start of the project, when we made the design, select the colors, and it definitely didn’t look like it looks now. I remember it was colorful and chaotic. We had more or less the same vision of how it will be look like, beside the small details regarding the use of Mahe-orange and Incher-pink, and only this two colors, and the advertisements, which are still seen by some of our friends as “too much Google ads!”.

I do remember a lot of frustrations regarding the banner. No brainstorming, no Google search, nothing could help me to make a nice banner, which expresses the identity of e-MaHE. So, we had for long time a flash banner, which finally helped us to develop the logo we use now, because at one point the circles in the flash made a nice picture together with the writing. So, we are quite proud of our new logo right now, and I’m sure, it will last some time… at least until our team grows and a new vision is developed.

What I’m also happy about is the way e-MaHE was welcomed in INCHER. Our first presentation for Prof. Kehm was really successful, because she was positively surprised, offered us her support and gave us a lot of suggestions for further planning and organization. Also the directory of INCHER had positive implications for the continuation of e-MaHE, what makes us again more self-confident and eager to work further. And if I started talking about presentations, I don’t want to forget one of the most important, that for the MaHE students, last week. I personally felt like the teacher in class, because there were not many questions or comments, but I have a feeling that many MaHE students will find it useful. Even some of them expressed their interest to work with us and gave us in private suggestions for further development.

At this point I want to wish all the authors successful writing and hope that they will find e-MaHE a very useful portal in the field of higher education. The same I hope them to be open and critical regarding our project, the project of all MaHE students. And I want to wish Bhina to keep his motivation and enthusiasm, but also a lot of patience
