This video is a great representation of the underlying problems with our economy. I could even possibly say that it is a problem created by the “greatest generation” but I would have to do more research before sticking to my guns on that one. Take a look at this video and leave me your comments.

Watch this video and then after this video, read “The Democracy Countdown”. It is an interesting theory on what is happening today. Not that it can’t be changed, but lets put some perspective on what is happening and why.  The Character in Chinese for the word “change” also means “opportunity”.  Think about it.  Is our run over as predicted or is this just another opportunity for change in our society to continue to be the greatest.

MEMORIES

4 NOVEMBER 1954

It was another day at hockey practice

In an old, dark arena, lit fully only when real practice begins,

But we are out on the ice early, skating and enthusiastic,

Playing a game, a competition between players and the goaltender,

The wager is 10 cents a shot, score or save.

Today the goalie is hot;  he is up 80 cents

Against one of the teams best scorers

Who once again skates in, determined.

He shoots from close-in, harder this time,

The puck jumps up into the shadows of the sparsely lit arena

And in the briefest of moments changes a life . . .

For the goalie never sees it and the puck finds his eye.

And so does life surprise us all, painfully at times,

But as one chapter of life closes, others open;

It may take time to see the new way,

But there are always options and choices

And, in reflection, I was the lucky one.
