Around noon, I was able to speak with the editor, Dmitry Volkov (also an Olympian and three-time medalist) about his ambitious concepts, and the unique “swimming-as-art” nature of his magazine. To make things interesting, the shoot needed to take place the next morning! I spent the remainder of the day preparing equipment and finding available studio space, a hair and make-up artist, and photography assistant. It was definitely short notice, but we pulled it off and I’m so pleased with the results.

Morozov is an incredibly talented swimmer. This year, he won the NCAA Division I Championships in the 50 free and 100 free. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he won a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay, and at the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships he won seven medals. It was a privilege to photograph him and to be surrounded by other incredible Olympians in the process.

Supporting the look of their Marine wedding, we styled the albums in white leather, with navy blue leather spines, silver-outlined cover photos, silver gilding on the page edges, modern silver text descriptions and volume numbers on the spine, all inside of a white leather slipcase.

Since this is a Hand Crafted Elegant album, most of the pages are beautifully matted in white, with a subtle ivory liner around the photographs, as you can see below on the right. Of course, these albums also feature full-bleed, flush mounted pages, as shown on the left. Our Hand Crafted Elegant Albums are a gorgeous blend of classic elegance and modern album styling.

Adam and I have known Erica for nearly 10 years and she is one of the sweetest, happiest and fun girls I have ever known. I feel so lucky to call her a friend and to have another girl to share a Lakers obsession with (although she is way more obsessed). ;) We can not wait for Erica and Nick to tie the knot at the Four Seasons Westlake in just two short months!

It’s such a blessing to be able to capture authentic moments of pure joy like in the photograph above. While I wouldn’t call our style of photography wedding photojournalism, documenting the real moments throughout a wedding in a journalistic fashion, is absolutely an important aspect of what we do. This is one of my favorite photographs from their wedding.

Rauz and Ramin had a Baha’i wedding ceremony, which was very simple and meaningful, with prayers and poetry read by close friends and family.

The wedding reception was held in Riviera Country Club’s gorgeous Crystal Ballroom, known for its many arched windows, spectacular views of the coastline, and stunning chandeliers. We love photographing receptions in this room, and it can also serve as a great location for elegant portraits.

As you can see, the combination of the purple wash, the green leaf pattern, the initial monogram on the dance floor, spot lighting on the centerpieces, and the Ahmanson Ballroom at Skirball Center’s incredible ceiling made for a beautiful, dramatic ambiance.

Ashley and Chazz’s wedding took place in one of the most gorgeous churches I have ever been in, the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena. Just breathtaking. On top of that, their reception was held at the Pasadena Sheraton, which is located right next to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The architecture in this city is just amazing. Ashley and Chazz were able to get some killer portraits because of it. We had such a great time photographing their wedding because we got to hang out with an incredibly sweet couple all day. We are so happy we could create this Digital Layout Album for them to enjoy for years and years.

When we shot their wedding at Riviera Country Club a few months after their engagement shoot, Heather mentioned how much she LOVED their engagement portraits and she wished their session was on our website. I told her how much I loved their shoot as well and that I wanted to get it posted also. It took me longer than I had wanted, but I finally did it! See Heather… I was telling the truth. ;) I hope everyone loves the engagement portraits as much as Heather and I do. Enjoy!

Tim and Andrea (and, of course, baby Ryan)!

We had the honor to photograph baby Ryan when he was only a couple weeks old back in December. We feel so privileged to photograph newborn portraits, since we know they will be remembered for years to come. Plus, we get to hang out with tiny, cute babies. =)

Because their photograph had the most votes by our Facebook fans, they have been awarded a 16×20 Canvas print ($470 value) of their photograph. Congratulations you guys!

The 2nd Place image comes from Gail and Justin’s LACMA Engagement Shoot. Adam had a great time photographing this sweet, hilarious couple at one of the great L.A. area museums. Luckily, both of us were fortunate enough to hang out with them all day photographing their wedding at Intercontinental Hotel in Century City back in October.

The 3rd Place photograph comes from Rauz and Ramin’s beautiful Riviera Country Club wedding in Pacific Palisades. Adam and I both agreed, without a doubt, this was our favorite photo from their wedding because the pure happiness on Rauz’s face was completely captivating.
