Notting Hill Mayfest 2011 - Call for Submissions

Notting Hill Mayfest is a programme of events across St. John’s and St. Peter’s Church taking place from the 14th May until the 2nd June 2011. Now in its 9th year, our aim is to inspire and bring together people of all ages, faiths and ethnicities and provide a platform for emerging artistic talent.

We offer a rich and varied selection of music as well as a Mayfair and an art exhibition. The festival takes pride in supporting relatively unknown but highly promising artists, hoping to give their careers the boost they may need.

We are calling for artists working in 2D, 3D, photography and installation to exhibit in St. John’s gallery space throughout the festival. The exhibition will showcase an eclectic mix of artworks and celebrate cultural and artistic diversity; we welcome submissions from student, amateur and professional artists – there is no criteria!

This is a unique opportunity to expose your work to a dynamic and vibrant community; the festival will be marketed widely and with a jam-packed programme of events and concerts taking place in the church, we anticipate large visitor numbers.

There will be a submission fee of £10 per artwork. Any sales will be the responsibility of the exhibitor. No commission will be taken by Mayfest.

To submit a proposal, send:

A good quality JPEG of your work (with titles, dimensions and prices)
A link to your website if you have one and contact details
A short statement about your practice and why you wish to be involved in this year’s exhibition

Email: mayfest.coordinator@gmail.com
Post: Mayfest Co-Ordinator, St Johns Church, Lansdowne Crescent, Notting Hill, London, W11 2NN

The deadline for submissions is 8th April 2011. If you have any queries, ideas, or would like to come and see the space, feel free to contact us.

Photographers Open Studios/Exhibition Spaces in Kensington and Chelsea

Hi, I am a Fine Art photographer specialising in collage and b&w portraiture and erotic photography. I would go a bit further and say that my artistic approach to the themes I find fascinating is pretty unconventional, to say the least.
I am looking for Open Studio/Exhibition space in South Kensington and Chelsea Area.
Some of my recent works can be seen at www.cultureinside.com, www.saatchionline.com and www.fineartamerica.com.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
Thanks,
Iliana

I have just concluded a large body of photographic work about migrancy after delivering 6 months of workshops with the models - refugee women. I am looking for a public gallery to show the work in which would be interested in organizing a debate around the issues of migration and arts. Any suggestions from anyone?
Thanks,

Mobile Projector

I am planning to show photographs of a canal walk at an exhibition to be held at the end of March.

I want to show these photographs in the form of a series of projected images in order that the viewer can also experience the walk

I am needing a reliable mobile projector. Could anyone advise me where I might be able to loan or hire one at a modest cost for an extended weekend?

Thank you for any advice and help

I am based in Richmond - is there any sign of Emerge or a similar initiative coming our way? I sometimes feel a bit of an art drought in this borough and that everything is happening in east london.
