Although this is Emmy's 3rd summer at the beach, it felt like her first visit because now she can run around and really explore. At first she was a little scared of the water, but she squealled with delight when her feet got wet. She loved finding chunks of sand stuck together and in them she saw cows, sheep, babies, and horses. She found an almost deflated balloon, and it became a favorite toy. This movie is just about 2 minutes long-- it gives you a glimpse of Emmy's love of the beach!

Playground Construction Watch the video
Andy and five Compass School students built Emmy a playground during the School's "Project Week". The intended audience was the students and staff of Shackleton (we mailed it to them from the road). It’s about 15 minutes long, so unless you were involved with Shackleton, were visited by us on this trip, are itching for a road trip, want to see some beautiful scenery, or are just are one of our fans, you might not be interested in this one. Why is this on Emmy’s blog? Well it was kind of our “Last Hurrah” before she came into being. It's kind of crazy to remember life before her.

May Day Watch the video

Emmy's Waldorf pre-school celebrated May Day with a maypole and some live music.

first entry

i thought i'd start a blog as motivation to document emmy's childhood with photos, writings, and videos. stay tuned.....
