I think you already need to be a CJ affiliate to apply. The network is at cj.ringrevenue.com. The are using http://ringrevenue.com as their platform.

CJ Pay-Per-Call is a new type of affiliate network that allow you to get paid to send leads to phone number or landing page with phone number combo.

Here is a nice little chart that outlines how Pay-Per-Call works:

Once logged-in to CJ Pay-Per-Call there is a little stats chart that outlines your call quality. Did the lead convert into a buyer? For example, if Brighthouse networks had a pay-per-call offer and the lead purchased a triple combo (phone, internet and TV) then that would likely be placed into the high call quality column. Just an internet service lead might be placed in the Medium call quality column. An unconverted lead would be placed in the no payout column.

At this time there are not a lot of advertisers using CJ Pay-Per Call but that’s probably because it’s fairly new and they just don’t know about it. It’s pretty much a win-win for the advertiser and publisher. Especially when some CJ traditional advertiser place ordering phone numbers on their landing pages and the affiliate gets stiffed that commission.

There are a few big name advertiser on board with the pay-per-call system such as Service Master, ADT, Angies List and Allstate.

I hope this form of landing page and phone lead combo advertising grows quickly. I see some BIG potential with it. Again I think you already need to be a CJ affiliate to signup to pay-per-call.

What do you think?

I recently placed second place in one of their affiliate revenue contests and I won a new iMac.

Being that they don’t sell the 24″ versions anymore, they upgraded my prize to a 27″ iMac for free.

Here is a picture of my old monitor setup:

I got back from a conference several weeks ago and the dang monitors above were not working. So I had to run off and grab a temporary monitor from Best Buy (20″ Hannspree) which is sitting next to the iMac in the picture below.

The picture of the 27″ iMac above doesn’t do justice. This baby is HUGE with a LED-backlit display. You might have noticed that it is about as wide as the two 17″ monitors side-by-side at the top of the picture.

Thanks again to Ruck, Steve and the rest of the Convert2Media crew for the upgrade.

The video is REALLY long but you might want to listen to it in the background while you are working.

After logging in wasn’t exactly sure what to do next so if you have a Google Wave account please contact me. We can add each other so we can begin testing all the features some more.

What extensions have you tested and might recommend? Anything good Google Wave extensions for Twitter or Facebook?

How Can You Get A Free Google Wave Invite?

First let me start that I don’t have any at this moment. I assume once you start using it a little bit they will add some invites into my control panel. Patrick, can you answer this? However, at the time they do send me the invites you can win one (or cash if they don’t)

Simply retweet this post with (or something similar but make sure you include @timschroeder):

RT @timschroeder Who Wants a Free Google Wave Invite? Win one here: http://bit.ly/1s7Iml

As soon as I get the invites I’ll randomly select the winners using random.org and message you on Twitter (so you need to follow me as well).

I’ll be giving away all the invites I get so there will be multiple winners. I’ll also update this post when this contest has ended. If I don’t get any invites within one month to give away, I’ll randomly select 2 winners and I will paypal you $50 each.

Good Luck!

To say it was a success for me will probably be an understatement. It was my first time attending Adtech and as an affiliate looking for more traffic sources (such as media buys) I felt this event was gold. Here’s a recap:

Day 1 at Adtech

Our trip started off a little rough. Our Delta flight from Orlando to New York City on Tuesday was completely canceled because of some sort of “electrical” problem. We were supposed to arrive in NYC around 5pm but had to re-route our trip. We arrived around 8pm. We jumped into a cab and headed to our hotel, The New Yorker. This was our first time staying at this hotel. We booked our room kind of last minute and some of our other hotel options were already booked full. When we arrived the counter clerk told me that I had booked the “small room.” She offered to upgrade us two levels for free. The room was tiny so I hate to think what the “small” room might have looked like. You pretty much run into the bed the second you open the door. We have stayed in New York City several times now so we know most of the hotels have tiny rooms, but with the upgrade we were expecting a little more. We did get a nice view of the city which was probably the upgrade she was referring to, not the size of the room.

After dropping off our bags, Deb and I decided we were not up for any partying that night so we went to a local Japanese restaurant and then called it a night about 11pm.

Day 2 at Adtech

We got a late start on day 2. We had breakfast at the hotel diner about 10pm and then headed over to the Javitzs Convention center for the Adtech show. The convention center itself was nice. The registration line at Adtech was not nice. I think we stood in line about thirty minutes and then they started handing out some temporary wrist bands so we could get into the expo hall and get our conference badges later.

The expo hall was amazing. I think there were over 250+ exhibitors. I’ll spare you the long list because you can find them all here. I wish I would have taken more pictures of the booths because some of them were pretty slick. Speaking of slick, one of the first booths we stopped by was the Convert2Media booth. They had a bar-style booth with some nice brew on tap. It was great chatting with Ruck, Steve, Mike and the rest of the Convert2Media crew! Did you happened to see Ruck’s custom ordered shoes? I think I intentionally took a little extra time on this row of the expo hall so I could go back and get a refill a couple times. By the way, when Ruck asks don’t ever tell Ruck what other networks you might be working with because he will pretty much curse you out (in the nicest way). I stopped by the Convert2Media office/mansion a few days ago to pickup an amazing prize I won from a recent affiliate revenue contest they held. More on that later.

I pretty much stopped at every company booth that I might be able to advertise with because I’m going full steam ahead with direct and media buys. There were also a ton of affiliate networks at Adtech as well. Of course I stopped by and chatted with my friends Mike Kelly and others at Market Leverage. Can you make great money with Market Leverage? A screenshot is coming soon.

Before leaving the expo hall we stopped by the Clickbooth booth and ran into Eric Schechter and my buddy Murray Newlands. Eric hooked us up with some VIP tickets to their party at Pancha. Eric is the social media guy at Clickbooth. We talked a lot during the event and it was great getting to know him more. There are so many good things I could say about Murray that I’ll be making a separate post about him and what he is up to. If you are an affiliate network not collaborating with Murray Newlands yet, you should be.

We only made it about half-way through the Adtech expo hall during day one. Deb and I had some lunch and then headed back to the hotel for a break.

While at the hotel Dina Riccobono from Market Leverage contacted us and hooked us up with New York Knicks tickets. These weren’t just tickets, they were $750 a piece Legends Suite tickets. We had awesome seats, great service, quarterly stat updates, and a Knicks Swag Laptop bag filled with a Knicks shirt, sweatshirt, and hat. Dina Riccobono = Awesome.

Also there was Zac Johnson. Zac is a great guy but you probably already know that. You’ll find some great tips on his blog including such as his recent Breakdown of a Profitable Facebook Ads Campaign.

John Reiser was also there. He is a professional golfer and will be blogging about his journey as a pro golfer here. John is a super cool guy and was a lot of fun to hang out with. I look forward to seeing him at some other events soon.

After the game Deb and I headed over to the Clickbooth party at Pancha where we did some more networking and chatted with Eric Schechter, John Resier, Murray Newlands and others. Slick Rick was the featured performer. “La di da di we like to party” old-school.

I also met Brittany, my publisher manager at Clickbooth. Deb really loved her because she though Deb looked 25 years old tops, but we are both in our early 30’s with two kids. She thought I could be 25 years-old tops too, but that’s normal for me. Not a bad thing I guess especially in another few years. Haha. Brittany and I had an unfortunate head-butt and I hope she didn’t end up with too much of a headache. Sorry Brittany but it was all your fault!

We got back to the hotel after the Clickbooth party a little after 2AM and crashed.

Day 3 at Adtech

I woke up with a bit of a hangover but I had still had a lot of new and old contacts to meet in the expo hall so we forced ourselves to get up and get going. We grabbed some coffee and hit the rest of the expo hall. I met a lot of new companies for the first time and now have a ton of new test buys to setup over the next few weeks.

Later that day we attended a BlogUP hosted by Eric from Clickbooth and Murray Newlands (his BlogUP recap). The turnout was small but a ton of great information was shared. They will be holding more events soon so make sure you attend the next one. After the BlogUP we all went out for a nice dinner and shared more ideas and stories.

We had a 7AM flight out of NYC the next morning so headed back to the hotel after dinner. We still only got about 4 hours of sleep that night.

Was Adtech Worth The Trip?

100% yes. This was by far my most productive conference in terms of meeting new contacts and finding new business. As an affiliate, even if you are not into media buys and such, there were a ton of affiliate networks attending as well. I look forward to attending again next year. Our next trip will be the Affiliate Summit 2010 in Vegas. I can’t wait for that one too.

Did you attend Adtech? What did you think of the event?

Why Did We Attend Blog World?

My wife, Deb from ChattyGal.com recently started blogging and I have to admit that she is a much more committed blogger than myself. She started her blog just a few weeks ago but she has some nice posts for the “gals” and a few posts that us guys might enjoy. She also made her own Blog World 2009 recap post here.

A few weeks ago Blog Catalog held a contest to win full passes to Blog World. All you had to do is create a video and tell why you should be picked to win the free tickets. Well, Deb won the tickets and you can see the two winnings videos here. We decided to pack our bags and head to Vegas.

Day 1 at Blog World:

After driving to Savannah from Orlando to drop off the kids at the grandparents we flew to Las Vegas on Wednesday. We stayed at the Hilton Las Vegas. The hotel was decent. I’d say it is a step ahead of The Rio where Affiliate Summit is usually held but not nearly as nice as the Bellagio and other 5-Star Vegas hotels. The conference didn’t start until Thursday so we did a little gambling at the Hilton that day and then took a taxi over to the Bellagio for a dinner buffet and a little more gambling. I lost money the first day and Deb broke about even.

We were tired because of the three hour time change and ended up back at our hotel about 8pm Vegas time. We knew we would have some late nights so we decided to hit the bed.

Day 2 at Blog World:

We woke up at about 6am which would have been 9am Orlando time. We had breakfast at the Hilton and then headed over to the conference center to register and get our conference badges. We walked over from the Hilton and it was quite a hike. It didn’t help that the conference center was huge and we had no idea where we were going.

Registration was quick and easy. I only got an expo hall pass and Deb had a full session pass. She headed over to see some sessions and I went back to the Hilton. I got some coffee and worked on the computer a bit. Then I lost some more money playing blackjack and slots. Losing money at the casino is getting to be a pattern at this point. I actually ended up winning several hundred dollars the last day of the conference and went home with a little profit.

That evening Blog Catalog took Deb and I out to a nice dinner at the Hilton. Everyone from Blog Catalog was really nice. There was about 20 of us at the dinner. A special thanks to Tony, Angie, and Jason.

After dinner Deb and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil, LOVE. The show is performed to The Beatles music. The entire show was unbelievable and it was one our favorite Cirque du Soleil show we have seen yet! Our seats were really close to the stage. We have also seen “O” in Vegas the the show in Orlando. After the show it was close to midnight and we called it a night.

A big thanks to Dina and the crew from Market Leverage for hooking us up with the free tickets.

Day 3 at Blog World:

On day three we had breakfast and Deb headed to some sessions. I stayed at the hotel and met my buddies Mike Kelly and Gary from Market Leverage for lunch.

After lunch myself and the ML crew headed over to the expo hall. The expo hall was large and there seemed to be a decent amount of booths. The actual floor didn’t seem that busy. As an affiliate marketer I would not say there was a whole lot for me on the floor. As a blogger I could see where it could be very beneficial. Clickbooth was the only affiliate network with a booth. It was nice running into Eric Schechter from Clickbooth a few times.

While walking the expo hall we chatted with my conference buddies Zac Johnson and John Chow for awhile. It was great seeing both of them again.

Later that night Deb and I were invited to dinner at the Envy steakhouse with Market Leverage. It was the best steak I’ve ever had. John Chow and Zac Johnson also attended the dinner along with about 20 other people. Zac and John were trying to get me to attend the bloggers super panel so they could bash my blog because I had not posted in several months. It’s one of things NOT to do when trying to build a blog.

After dinner we headed over to a TweetUp party at Lavo Nightclub. The place was packed. The music was good as well as the drinks. We got back to the hotel late that night and crashed.

Day 4 at Blog World:

This day was kind of uneventful until the evening. Deb went and got a Body Wrap with Dina from ML. I had a hangover and lounged around most of the day. I did some slots during the day and made up for my losses during the previous days.

That evening we went to a party by the pool at the Hilton. Market Leverage and others had there own cabana. The food was really good and it was nice basically just relaxing around and chatting. After the party Deb and I went briefly to a karaoke meetup downstairs where some singers did pretty good but most sounded horrible.

Was Blog World Worth The Trip?

Yes! As an affiliate marketer there wasn’t a whole lot for me at the expo hall. However it’s always great to meet both new and old friends. The networking is what makes most of these conferences worth it. I didn’t take as many pictures as I was hoping but I do have one from when we met Adam Carolla (Loveline and The Man Show) in the Expo hall. I’ll try and upload it soon.

As always, thanks again to Market Leverage for everything. You guys rock.

So it has obviously been a long time since I made my last post. Here are a few random updates:

1. I’m finally getting TimSchroeder.com designed and will be starting a new blog there. eMonetized will still be around but I’m probably going to make some changes to this site. Go follow me on Twitter so you will know when the new blog is ready!

2. I’ve been working a lot with Market Leverage lately and hitting some record revenue numbers for myself.

3. I went to the Market Leverage Charity bowling tournament several weeks ago. ML hooked us up with a limo ride to and from the event. Thanks again. I tried to teach my affiliate manager Chelsea how to become an expert bowler like myself but that was a hopeless cause. Dina R. as usual ran around taking pictures and videos of everthing. Mike K. wore his gang attire.

4. Finally visited the ML offices in Orlando/Lake Mary FL. About time considering I live about 30-45 minutes away. Really nice offices. Chelsea even made my lunch for me so I plan to stop by every Friday now. Now I just have to just make it to the C2M offices mansion which is literally 10 minutes from my home.

5. I finally got a Mac! I’ve always been comfortable with my PC but I thought it was time to compare. It’s rare that you hear about someone getting a MAC and not liking it a LOT more than their old pc. I got the new 17″ Macbook Pro and so far I am loving it! I just bought Parallels today so I can also run Windows on it…

6. I need a haircut.

7. Tyler Cruz owes me some free advertising (he knows what I mean)

8. I have not Twittered in a couple weeks but I will soon so remember to go follow me.

9. I’m probably going to do some big advertising and big contests when TimSchroeder.com goes live. I’ll probably blog there a couple months and then decide for the second time that I’d rather work on my affiliate campaigns than become a famous blogger.

10. I had to put something here for 10 because I didn’t want to end on a 9. I just thought of something to put here. Andrew Wee, I’ll finally get to that podcast in another few weeks months.

11. …609, SM, geigo, 787, k… How about a little competition fellas? Oh, and again, Tyler get my check in the mail.

I tried it for the first time at ASW 2009.

The Cashinator machine is a lot harder than it looks. You can easily spend too much time chasing one bill and zap away your time quickly. In any case, I crushed the measly $27 dollars in winnings from John Chows first try in the Market Leverage cashinator! My total was a gigantic $30. Take that Chow! I guess it’s only fair to tell you that the Cashinator at ASW 09 was filled with $2 bills and I think John Chow was chasing $1 bills?

If anyone wants to challenge me to a Cashinator Duel at the next Affiliate Summit, reply here. Winner takes all and then gives the money away on their blogs. Here is the previous ShoeMoney vs John Chow cashinator dual (+ Tyler and Zac).

And here is my first shot in the Market Leverage cashinator.

I want to thank Market Leverage CEO Michael Jenkins and Marketing Manager Dina Riccobono for the invite. My wife and I were invited to a private dinner with Market Leverage at the Switch in The Encore. The food and atmosphere was amazing.

Here is myself, my wife and CEO of ML, Michael Jenkins. I look forward to chatting with him more at the Market Leverage offices. I also sat in on his Affiliate Videos session. He is one really smart guy and I have a lot of respect for him. During the dinner Michael announced ML’s new Green Links technoogy. It’s the first of its kind among affiliate networks. Hover over a green link on their website and a video will popup explaining it. It’s really cool. I’ll write more on this soon.

Here is myself and Dina Riccobono of Market Leverage. She is sweet, smart and from what I’ve seen, a superb marketing manager. Also quite the busy bee. Michael, you should give Dina another a raise. It was also nice to chat with Mike Kelly, Jen Fluker (and the rest of the ML crew), Ms Danielle, and Nate Whitehill of (Unique Blog Designs).

Here is another picture of the table with a side-view of Andrew Wee. I was able to talk to Andrew quite a bit during dinner and other parts of the Summit. Nice guy.

It was nice to meet Zac Johnson at the dinner. Hopefully we can hang out more at the next Summit.

ShoeMoney was also at the dinner. I was only able to chat with him briefly because he was sitting at the end of the table but he is very approachable and likes to make silly faces in most of his pictures.

And here is a picture of myself and my beautiful wife during the dinner.

Here are a couple videos of the dinner, one which shows the walls moving at the Switch.

Thanks again to ML for the dinner.
