Dear weblog

I'm sorry for not updating you! I'm awfully busy these days. I mean, I'm supposed to be... you know...

today after talking to a friend of mine, I decided to take Strategic planning with another professor. I guess this one is not as ... as the first one.(what's the word when you bust your butt studying real thick textbooks and several articles and take several quizzes and do hundreds of assignments and then there's a huge project and then you write up a term paper and at the end you don't get a grade that you deserve?)

God! I think my English sucks! please tell me about the mistakes that I make here. (at least the stupid ones! pleeeease...)

from now on, I'm going to write a little about my country, my people, life in Iran and these kinds of things but it's all going to be good stuff! and in case you're wondering why I've decided to do so, it's because I want to let the rest of the world (yeah sure! like I got 1000000 visitors a day :D) see that there's a lot more to Iran than what people may see on TV and read in newspapers.

I don't know if that's the case in other parts of the world as well but here when a guy and a girl make friends and they're not dating, they just keep telling eachother "you're like a brother to me...you're like a sister to me..."

yesterday I started teaching a TOEFL preparation course. I'm teaching at a well-known language institute in Tehran, and my students are either university students or graduates.

I was a little bit nervous but I think it's pretty normal for the first session, regarding that I've never taught in a class full of students who are as old as or even older than me! I also made a few tiny little mistakes but this is perfectly normal too!

sleep deprived

I usually take a nap in the afternoon, especially now that the days are pretty long and weather is so hot [outside]. I try as hard as I can (it's a lie. I don't try at all), not to sleep more than 30 minutes, or an hour at most, but I can't. I even set the alarm for an hour later when I go to sleep, but when it sounds, I turn it off and wake up an hour later

there's only four hours left of this year. I don't know why but I feel kinda sad. I definitely should not! but I do!
my sister's cellphone just beeped several times which means she's had a few more happy-new-year messages and I'm kinda happy about mine getting stolen because I don't really think I would have any messages of that kind and if I did, I'm quite sure it would make me feel sadder. last week I was robbed of(!) my cellphone. I was trying to hop in a cab with some other guys and right after I got in, I realized that my dear z550 was gone for good. it was a hell of an experience you know! I searched all my pockets like a million times. but the thing is that I always thought if someone stole it I'd sort of die or something! I mean I expected myself to be way more upset than I was. well... It's gone anyway.

Today this guy from MIT was giving a lecture at Sharif. I had nothing else to do, so I thought I'd go and see what's it about. Well... he talked for an hour about some stupid unanswered questions which he was interested in working on and all. I went there with three other guys and one of them (Hadi) fell asleep during the lecture! But honestly speaking, it wasn't that boring :). I'm not really sure about that but I think one of the professors (the founder of our business school) was chewing gum! Oh I almost forgot! A really BIG (well... not that big actually) sat right in front of me and totally blocked my view. God! It drove me crazy…
