Therefore, after he grew up, he will take for granted that all things belong to him.

Second, when he say some evil words, you can ridicule him. Or when he accumulates more and more evil words, his words will make you very angry.

Third, never education him something about spirit and moral until he became an adult and let him do everything he wants to do.

Fourth, avoid telling him that he did a wrong thing, or sometimes he would felt guilty. Therefore, in the future, when he is arrested for stealing something or doing other crimes, he will feel that the whole world is against him. At that time, he seems like a victim.

Fifth, help your child to tidy away all things which he throw everywhere at his disposal and never let your child clear up by himself, or he will be tired. So that he will get into the habit of pushing towards all the responsibilities to others when meet some cases.

Sixth, never ask or interfere which books your child read. No matter they are good or bad books, let him read freely. You clear up your family clearly, and also disinfect your dinner set completely, but you pay no heed to how much garbage in your child’s head.

Seventh, parents quarrel with some hot words frequently and never scruple the child is present. So, when the parent’s emotion break even get divorce in the future, the child will not feel surprise.

Eighth, no matter how much pocket money your child asks, give him without no reason. Ask your child do not go to work to earn money and tell him do not save money, because you think why he want to suffer just like you lived in your childhood.

Ninth, always tolerate and satisfy his unreasonable demands for his diet and living, or if he is angry, it is a serious thing.

Tenth, parents stand on the child’s side firmly when he conflict with neighbors, teachers or police. In that way to make the child know that to you those people are not fair.

Eleventh, when the child get into trouble, parents state carefully,“this is a trivial thing, a bit to make fuss?”

Translator:gx05046jane
Love the child wisely is an issue which should draw the attention of the parents. Mother Meng’s “Three Moves” is an example to love her son wisely; Madame Curie’s “Intelligence Exercise” is an example to love her daughter wisely; Zhou Hong’s appreciation education to tingting is an example to express wised love. Throughout histories, both at home and abroad, it seems all the people with great success were supported by parents’ wised love.
1 To guide your child play with purposes

Let your child play in the games, and learn how to do and how to thing; Let your child play in the nature to make friends with animals and plants, he or she will be full of love and passion to life; Let your child play with his or her companies, he or she will learn how to be tolerant and how communicate and cooperate with others; Let your child go to technology house, museum and library, his or her desire for knowledge will be strongly triggered by the heavy cultural atmosphere.

2 Don’t approve or disapprove blindly

Do not be emotional while educate your child: when you are happy, you treat him or her like treasure, and feel wonderful; while your do not happy, you anger to him or her and feel awful. We could not approve or disapprove our children blindly. We should treat them practical and make them realize and evaluate themselves properly—do not self-conceited and do not belittle themselves.

3 Do not compare your child’s weak points with others’ strong points

Stimulation will never be an education way out of date. Appreciate your child sincerely and to be imputes and push for them in their process of advance. Do not always compare your child’s weak points with others’ strong points to make them lose hearts.

4 To apologize to your child sincerely

Once you are wrong, you have to admit your mistakes and apologize to your child sincerely. This will help your child to shape a right outlook for wrongness and rightness, besides; they will be able to realize and correct their mistakes in the future, so as to get success. Furthermore, apologize to them sincerely and properly not only help to keep you face, but also improve your image in your child’s heart and promote love between you and your child. So why not apologize to them sincerely?

5 Do not only pursue for a good mark

Study mark is only a side in your child’s growing process, not all. The purpose of study is to live happily. If this kind of pleasure escapes your child, it will be a distortion of the purpose of study. Therefore, we should make every effort to make our children study happily, do not nagging your child with “study hard” and stimulate them by money to get a good mark. Parents have to keep in mind that a good mark is not everything.

One of the MOST important things I want to do for my kids is to create opportunities for them to to use their imagination and ingenuity to “create”. Albert Einstein once said that “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

I fully agree with his statement. I have accomplished so much in life because I actively nurtured creativity in life and in business. When I worked in marketing there was nothing that served me better….my job was to imagine a company brand, marketing materials, a PR campaign, collaterals, and then create what I saw in my mind. I still have my portfolio with all of my concepts and designs. I knew I wanted my children to feel the same empowerment that I did from being able to visualize something and then make it a reality.

Our home by design is a haven for creativity and artistry. We have paints, soy and beeswax crayons, sketching pencils and instruction books, stencils, beads, clay, play dough, beeswax, sewing supplies, costumes and face paints, henna, decoupage materials, cross stitch and knitting supplies…we are always adding to our “creation station”.

Yesterday I read a book that really resonated with me. I couldn’t put it down! It is The Creative Family - How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Blake Soule. It is full of advice on how to easily encourage a creative atmosphere and it has many simple projects for the whole family to do. It also gives many ideas for inspiration. I loved her ideas to use kids artwork to make thank you cards and Christmas cards, I loved her idea to use beat up vintage children’s books for art projects, and I loved her ideas for organizing everything. I will be making our own inspiration wire like she shows in the book, which is filled with beautiful color photos of her home and her family’s projects. My favorite tip was hands down the one where she suggested taking shirts with paint/marker/food stains and dying them. I hadn’t thought of that! There is also a chapter devoted to being resourceful and not wasteful. It has many planet friendly ideas.

One tip that I fully endorse it to buy quality art supplies for your kids…not the cheap stuff you get at big box stores. Yes, it does cost more but their creations are worth it. After all, we don’t like using low quality tools when we have a job to do. That is one reason I like soy crayons so much…they color smoothly and evenly unlike chunky, splotchy petroleum crayons. Quality watercolors are steadfast and won’t fade like the little Crayola sets you can buy. A good wooden handle, animal hair paint brush will last for a long time as opposed to a cheap plastic one. A good place to look for cheap but high quality materials is at yard sales and estate sales. I know I am looking for children’s desks this summer. Even if they are in bad condition I can paint them and give them a makeover.

Among the projects outlined in the book…a pencil roll, felt blocks, a pair of pants from an old T-shirt, freezer paper stenciling, embroidering your children’s art on clothes and pillows, making memory books, and making bedtime bags….plus much more.

I think it would be hard for anyone to read this book and NOT be inspired by it. I know I will be referring to my copy for a long time to come.

Translator:gx05043celia
The parents who are 40years old still remember that, in the 1960’s, some children had their own piggy banks. The piggy banks are made of plastics and ceramics. Above the jar, there was a hole which was wide as a coin of 5 fen. At usual times, we put the pocket money which we saved into the piggy bank. When the Chinese New Year came, we would open the jar and took the money out. We would count the money and bought a cloth which we like or a school learning supplies. At that time, we felt very happy. This was our early fiscal “model”, when we were young children.
Nowadays, a family has only one child, so the child likes a little emperor. Children can get a lot of information from the media advertising and their friends that they can get anything they want. So, they formed a certain value which contains desire and money. For every parents, the required course is that how to teach a child to learn the financial management from childhood.

To be honest, nowadays, children are not lack of money. They can get a lot of money from their grandmothers and grandfathers, at the meantime, they spend a lot. But economists believe that once child touches money, they should be taught to learn much about the meaning of money by their parents. This is also the best time and ways to educate children how to learn financial management.

When your child is five or six years old, basically he or she can understand the relationship between money and buying, Such as how to distinguish money, know the addition and subtraction and how to spend money. At this time, parents begin to prepare some pocket money to their child. However, how much money they should prepare, this is a question that parents should consider.

In fact, children’s pocket money do not need to add year by year, because adding pocket money can teach them nothing. The most important thing is that to let them understand the knowledge about the balance between demand and financial resources.

The children who are eager to increase their pocket money should be taught that the money is given by their parents and the money is not come easily. Parents should guild and introduce the ideas to their children. For example, when parents buy school lunch to their children, they should put this spending into children’s pocket money. If children want to get much more money, parents can ask them to cook the lunch themselves.

Except to give children proper pocket money, parents should let them set the consuming concept that saving first, consuming later. To the children, if they have a goal which they want to buy-----that they think is very important. The saving will be more meaningful. A economist suggested that parents should encourage their children to set a short-term goal and save their pocket money. And then, after two or three weeks later, they can buy a lot of things, such as toys, books and learning supplies. Later, parents can encourage their children to set a greater goal and save money for several moths, even a year. So, they can achieve greater goal.

This approach can make children feel that the distance between the objective and the progress is not very far. So, usually they will focus their attention on their goals but spend the pocket money on other things. The most important lesson for children need to learn in that“how to responsible for their own spending.”

To some older children, parents can encourage their children to save money by allowing children to saving goods which is considered as the equal money. A foreign couple adopted such method. When their child was 10 year old, on his birthday, they opened a current deposit book which contains 500 U.S.dollars to him. After six years, the child saved some money per moth. The couple would give goods which the value is equal to the saving to him.

To encourage children to save pocket money is not only a purpose but also a kind of means. I t wants to make children know that how to be in charge of their “expenses”and manage their expenditure much more and more times and introduce some financial management concept of budget. This is the real thing that every parents should teach their children.

Translator:gx05026sulifang

How many American children surf online?

In May 1999, with its Government's invitation, I went to American primary and secondary schools to inspect its computer and network education, and had doubt on "live in the network". This phrase usually means that personal has little choice, so we must passively adapt to the network society, otherwise ,we will take the risk of being obsoleted. The American computer and Internet penetration rate is much higher than China's, but I did not see the children living in the network, but network in the children's life. Children are still living their own lives, while network just is a new exploration and entertainment tool in their life. With the help of teachers and parents, they are learning how to use it.

As soon as I arrived in Washington, I got a statistics on the American children surf online. According to the estimate of Jupiter Communications Inc. in December 1998 , the United States has more than 20 million children ,aged 2-year-old to 12-year-old ,online, while only 2.7 million in 1997 . From this we can see how rapid it increase. The American family’s computer penetration rate is about 50 percent. A majority of primary and secondary schools students surf online in school’s library and classrooms. On October 14, the New York Times reported a survey on primary and secondary schools’ networking showing that in 1996 the networking of American primary and secondary schools was accounted for only 36 percent, while it was up 85 percent from 997 to 1998. Among them, middle and high networking schools were 91 percent and the primary networking schools were 82 percent. In the United States, 44 percent of classrooms have Internet facilities, and 6.3 students have a computer in the classroom on average.

The Clinton administration strongly popularize computer and Internet education in primary and secondary schools. For this, in 1998, the Government spent 1.9 billion dollars in education subsidies. Their goal is that each secondary school’s classroom should have five networked computers, primary schools and kindergartens have three. There are 15 to 20 students in a classroom , so an average of 4 to 5 people to use a computer. Among the schools I had visited, some advantaged schools have better conditions than this. A primary school headmaster told me proudly that they have as many computers as secondary school, that is, each classroom has five computers. Disadvantaged schools made effort to achieve this gold by sponsorship and other ways. Mr. RayPorter, who works in San Francisco Unified School District's computer research center, showed me to visit their computer store room. There were hundreds of donated computers in it and technical staffs were assembling, upgrading, and readying for distributing them to all primary and secondary schools of San Francisco. He said that the goal of the San Francisco campus was higher than the federal requirements; they would have six computers in each primary school’s classroom. Compared with China, the American computer and Internet penetration rate is very high, and most of children can surf online easily by computer in the classroom and library.

What children do online?

With so many computers and so easily to surf online, what children will do in the classroom? This is one of questions I want to know. When I went to a school, no matter it was a high school, middle school, primary school or preschool, I always asked firstly:” what your students use computers and networks to do?” In our country, I generally see the children learning typing, practicing with BASIC programming language, using educational software to improve their mark or go to e-campus, so I felt surprised as the presidents told me seriously or happily that the kids were doing research.

Regardless of their students were in high school, junior school, primary school or pre-school, More than one headmaster told me "Do Research". Watching those six, seven-year-old children running around in the classroom, I did not think they can do any research. A primary school’s headmaster of Illinois explained to me that: “you work in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and do your research. You discover a problem, and then seek a way to get the answer of this question. The children just do the same as you do.” She took me into a first grade classroom of a primary school, in which the children were surrounding the teacher and listened to stories. The president talked to the children loudly:”this is a guest coming from China. She wants to know how to use computer to do research. Who can help her.” Two children stood up immediately, ran to the computer and operated it, explaining to me that there was some available information about the dinosaurs. However, They were only six years old.

In San Francisco SpringValley primary schools, a teacher SteveRoth talked to me on a fifth-grade course on the Civil War. It was a typical course before its beginning: some children may have heard of the Civil War and some may have read books about it, but some may know nothing about it. The teachers encourage them to search any relevant information on the Civil War according to their interest by internet. Any information was all right as long as it was about the Civil War. The children did research by themselves online or formed a group to cooperate. As a result, some of the children found the main battlefield and battle of the Civil War; some children found its music, the heroines, or did research on the climate of that time. Every child or each group collated their findings and printed out, and then read to their classmates, sharing of these resources and actively discussing the significance of the Civil War and so on. Teachers did not ask them to recite something like the date and the result of the Civil War, but hoped that the children would know how and where to search these information if they want to know about the Civil War, how to distinguish the information is reliable or not, and how to understand them and so on.

I think that president is right—-the children are really doing research.

The knowledge that the children are adopted by doing research is what has been identified, and what the researchers study has not formed yet.

The Presidents' educational philosophy

This school’s president, in talking about her educational philosophy (Later, I found that those presidents I met would like to talk about their own educational philosophy), said that: “In the process of education, we should pay attention to scientific concept rather than technical. Technology is a kind of education Tools, and how we use this tool is the key point. Technology should be used for research, design and create, also we can say that it is a research tool. What we want to teach our children is how to use computer and network to create, research and design. Although there are a lot of useful computer languages, it’s not so important to teach them the computer language. We hope that children will use their own minds, not computers, because minds are the most important thing. Through education, they should maintain a healthy skepticism. They should ask questions, not just accept. This is what we should teach children."

SteveRoth also said that:"At this era, there are so many new technologies and information that you do not know it is right or wrong, useful or useless. So it is an ability we should learn to know which is more useful and reliable. Since technology is just a tool, we should use the accumulation of technical experience to evaluate by ourselves finally, and our courses is to give children this ability. "

It is almost a common feature on internet education of those schools I have visited that computer and network is used as a research tool to encourage children to study and take access to new knowledge. JimKonantz, the minister of Los Angeles Unified School District's technical guidance for Computer Education Ministry, said clearly that:” The purposes of children to use computer is to do research and learn knowledge by doing research. My educational philosophy is that computer is the tool of research, especially in primary school. To learn how to use research tool is much more important than to learn the special computer knowledge. So we do not teach children computer language. If some high school students are interested in C language, they can learn.

Children's home network

The American students use computer not only in school, but also at home. Of course, their families must have computers. Then, what kids use computers to do at home?

Once I lived in an American family in Freep6rt, Illinois. It is a quiet small town which is not as lively as East and West coast. People in this town are very conservative, and they do prayer before dinner. The host of this family, a computer engineer working in a bank, was now capturing the "millennium bug" problem, and his wife is a dietitians. They have two children, a 14-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy. Before I went to their family, I was told that the two children are computer fans, so I imagined that they would indulge in computer day and night. But after I lived with them, I found that although they really liked computers, they did not spend all of their time on it. They were busy in doing homework, participating in Scout activities, sports competitions; chatting with their friends and taking care their beloved dog. There are two things I want to mention. One is about homework. Most of their homework is manual operations, so it cost most of their time, for example, the historical homework. The teacher required them to make a model of Freeport town 100 years ago according to their imagination which they can not finish in a few hours. The other is about the dog. The dog raised in the garage when I lived in their family because I was afraid of dog. The children always accompanied the dog in turn for pitying that the dog was too lonely.

According to the U.S. Nickelodeon children's cable television companies ONLINE survey, 67 per cent of children surf online in order to get information, 65 percent play games, 49 per cent chat in a chat room or use of BBS, 48 percent use the Internet for creative Activities, 46 per cent downloaded on-line information. In the United States, not only schools provide children with access to the network, but many companies such as children radio and television companies and some child-related organizations also have established children's website for children learning, communication and entertainment in their spare time. I have visited a children's website "Children Interaction" which WGBH Boston radio station is the host. At the very beginning, “Children Interaction" was designed to encourage children to participate in the WGBH television programs. The content of television programs were designed by children. Since its opening up in January 1999, 250,000 children had visited the site by mid-May. Many children intrude what kind of television programs they like. It has 10,000 people visiting it per day on average, and receives about 10,000 proposed e-mails on the television programs every week. The web site publishes 1,000 of them for children to discuss continually by choose.

Children also learn how to do scientific experiments online. There are 34 scientific experiments attractive children in”children Interaction”. In order to improve children's ability of practice and cooperation, “children Interaction " asked the children to really make a scientific experiment with one or two partners after they know how operate on internet. Then write down the process and the results of the experiment, and send an e-mail to sites, and get its reward.

It is not necessary to have computer education

Of course, some families do not encourage children to use a computer or network. In Kansas of Missouri, Home Schoohng is very popular. That is, parents give their children primary and secondary education at home. I have visited such a family: the mother, who has a master's degree in education, taught five children at home. As soon as I entered, she said, she might made me disappointed, because although she knew I was interested in computer education, she didn’t want to teach children how to use computer now, nor can she offer any information in that regard. I asked the reasons, and she told me that to the children the most important and the most basic capabilities are reading, calculation, writing and communication in the process of growing up. These do not necessarily have computer capability to form. For example, you are a scholar and you have never learned computer when you was a child, but you are certainly capable of controlling you life. She took me to visit the basement of their home, which also was her husband's studio-- her husband is a musician. There were some good computer equipment can be used for music creation. She explained that it was not because their families didn’t know computer or network technology, but, in their opinion, it can be no computer while can not without those basic abilities to a child.

What is the result from the comparison between China and the United States?

Seeing so much “do research”, I can not help recalling the scene I see in our country. In 1996, I was invited to visit a place of quality education. In a classroom, about 40 primary school students were busy in typing exercises on their own computer. Students were crowed by a tense air and paid all their attention to the typing fingers so that they had no speech, no questions, and no thought as well. There was no voice except for the keyboard sound. When I entered the classroom, I just felt suppressed, even lost my interest of talking with children. I also have been being as a judge of children's computer competition. I regretted to see that the children's game is always about the five-stroke input speed, BASIC language, and the page production technology. And the adult lack of the basic interest in children’s creativity of their works. What the adult concern is the technology, that is, in the children's works, whether it use the sound technology, or its animation technology get to which level and so on. Adults also attaches great importance to computer and the Internet as a tool, but this tool mostly confined to learning the classroom knowledge. The classroom knowledge is limited, so children do not need to use computer and internet to explore what more of the circumstances. Computer and the Internet is a tool to strengthen the instilling knowledge, strengthen to memory knowledge. This situation is often made me doubt in the target of technical education. If we do so,it is no sense for we to set up the compuyer and technology courses to children .

In Kansas ,Missouri , I will mention this issue to PARKHILL’s computer educational president Mr. PaulKelly. First of all, he talked something about the national technology education standards to me. In the United States, the federal government does not have a unified syllabus and teaching progress, but some of the relevant departments and organizations will publish some guidance and reference standards. The National technology education standards is promulgated by the International Technology Education Association (ISTE). It depents on themselves to use it or not, or they can have their standards.

We can see that the U.S. computer and Internet education make children become the masters of new technology in the ideal at least. They do not want children to be controled by new technologies and environment, passively to adapt the new technologies, but insist that children has the dominant position in the air of technology ,emphasize that children how to take advantage of new technology as men. Indeed, network is the real network in children’s live, and network and computer are not only as a tool of live and study, so the children do not live in the world of network without any chice. The propose of computer education is to train children for an active users. He can use computer to solve the problems when he needs it, but use it or not, it depeng on himself. According to the computer educational presidents of some schools, most of children surf online one or two hours a day on average.

The background of the American network education

The American computer and Internet education is not isolated, but has a very profound and close ties with the U.S. education philosophy , education system and education thought. I have said that, among the schools and the children's television programs production companies I had visited, many people would like to talk with you about education philosophy. People have different views on education philosophy which decide the feature of the school or company he works in. However,in general, personal and his childhood is very important in American education. This point is greatly influenced by an educator, Mr. Dewey,of the 20th century. In his opinion, child’s education should put children’s interest first. He pointed out: "Life is growth, so a person in a stage and in another stage’s life is equally true and positive,is colourful and important in its content and status as well. Therefore, education is an enterprise that providing you the condition of growth and adequate living conditions no matter how old are you. So the educators should respect “the immature state ". Mr. Dewey criticized the two tendency of neglecting the aims of children’s education. One is to prepare to be a standardized adult as the purpose of education, which lead to a tendency of "just considering the favorite things of adults, regardless of the capacity of the educated now he has", "and taking a distant goal as achievements"; the other tendency is having the same purpose, ignoring the special personal capacities and needs, forgeting that all the knowledge is achieved in a specific time and place. The essence of these two trends are neglected children and their personal needs, just emphasizes the adult’s social requirements on children. Under the influence of such philosophy, their childhood do not get the attention for they are to be adult. The educators greatly concerned about children themselves, their childhood, their needs, interests and development.

with such background of education, computer and Internet enters the classrooms, and children’s lives. We can see that, despite it is new technology, under the educational philosophy influence of putting people’s interest first, computer and Internet is still being used to cultivate children's autonomy, exploration spirit, research capabilities as well as cooperation and exchange capacity, still full of the humanistic care. This is not different with others education.

Translator:gx0512605011cola
Ⅰ. Position
There were a piggy, a sheep and a milkier. They were captivated in the some corral. One day, the herd caught up the piggy, and the piggy howled loudly like a bull at a gate to dispute. However, the sheep and the milkier disliked its howl , so they said,” He often catch us up , but we never howl like you .” When hearing this, the piggy answered,” capture to you and to me is absolutely different. What he need on you is only your feather, but life for me!”
People in different position and environment are hard to realize the other’s feeling so , he or she is unsuitable to crow over the others’ chill, frustration and distress, but should pay his or her carefulness, understanding and good-tempered heart.
Ⅱ. On one’s own account
The little snail asked his Mom why they bear a forced and heavy carapace by birth.”
Mom: There is no bone to support our bodies. What we can do is to climb, but not so fast, so we need the carapace.
Little snail: sister caterpillar also has no bone, and she climbs not so fast too. Why she needn’t bear such a forced and heavy carapace?”
Mom: Because she can turn into butterfly, and the sky will protest her.
Little snail: How about little brother angleworm? He is the same with me, no bone, and climbs not so fast .And he will never turn to be butterfly neither. Why he needn’t bear the carapace.
Mom: Because he can dig into the soil, and the earth would protest him.
Hearing this, little snail began to cry out and said,” We are so pitiful! Neither the sky, nor the earth would protest us.”
Mother Snail comforted him, saying,” So we have carapace”
We neither depend on God, nor the earth, but on our own account
Ⅲ、Shark and fish
Once, one did an experiment. He put a most feral shark and a flock of tropical fish in the same pond, and blocked off them with the aggrandized glass. In the beginning, the shark continuously collided that unseen glass every day, but what he did was useless. He could not go across to the opposite. And the experiment personnel would put some crucians into the pond to make sure the shark not to run short of quarry. However, the shark still wanted to go across to the opposite for tasting the delicious food. He also would continuously collided that glass from every hole and corner with might and main every time. But, he gained heaps of scars every time, even broken and bleeding all over the body. This situation lasted out for some day. In addition, whenever the glass appeared crack, the experiment personnel add a thicker glass.
Afterward, the shark did not collide the glass any more and he pay no attention to those bright-colored tropical fish as if they were the on the mobile mural. The shark waited for the fixed crucians every day and hunted by his nimble instinct as if he is in the sea, extremely arrogant, and full of firm and dominated vigor. Actually, all above are just feints The reality was that , in the last moment, thought the experiment personnel took away the glass, the shark had not reflection.. He still swam in the fixed area not only regarding those tropical fish as go-by, but also gave up chasing those crucians fleeing to his side. He was not willing to go across to the opposite any more. After this experiment, the personnel bemocked the shark as the fainthearted fish in the sea.
However, only the people who failed in love know the reason why he gave up: he was scared of pain.
Ⅳ、 miracle
France, a devious small town, it’s said that there was a specially efficacious namma, often appearing miracles that could be used to cure all kinds of diseases.　One day, a veteran with one leg, claudicant, went by the street of this town leaning on a stick. The townees sideward said to the veteran with a pitiful tongue,” Poor guy, why can’t you impetrate the God to get you one another leg? This was heart by the veteran .He turned around and replied,” I needn’t do that for a new leg, but for His help to let me know how to spend my life without one leg.”
Reveal: learn to owe those lost, admit the fact of losing. No matter how, gain or lose, let your life fulfill of light and gloss. Never weep for the past, but to live out a life of you.
Ⅴ、Fishing pole
An old man was fishing at the river, while a child went by for watching. The elder’s skill was very practiced, so not for a long time that his basketry was full of fish. The old man felt that the child was lovely, so sent him all the fish. However, the child shook his head to reject. The old man felt so surprised that he said,” Why?” The child answered,” I want your fishing pole.” ”Why”, the old man still asked. “I will finish eating these fish soon. But, if I have a fishing pole, I can go fishing by myself so that I can feed myself for life.” the child answered.
I think you must say that,”How clever the child is!” But, you are wrong. If he just wanted the fishing pole, he could not have any fish to eat, because, he knew nothing about the fishing skill. Having a fishing pole without skill meant nothing for the key point to fishing is the “fishing skill”, but the” fishing pole”.
There are so many such people who think they possess of fishing pole in the path of their lives, so they don’t fear any frustrations on the path. Thus, they are hard to avoid slipping up on the mire. It is like that, to the child, the old man had unfinished fish for the fishing pole; to the staffs, the boss collects wealth for seating in the office.
Ⅵ、sincerity
Under innumerable trials and hardships, after all, I rustle up this E-test. I think, to be mankind, we must be sincere, honest and kind. I hope you who see it can cherish my fruit and help to prop it up, still, to make this E-test be seen by more people and they can learn something from it, which is my objective. It can’t not occupy more than three seconds. Here, I would like to appreciate all of you.

Translator:gx05043celia

Some parents are very distressed, because their children are no interested in reading, no matter how they induce their children to read.

He Zhen(a researcher comes from Family Education Research Center of ZhengXiang, shanghai, as well as be known as an expert who research and practice the problem of family education. Now, he is serving as a family education expert consultant to the Department of Education, Women’s Federation and the Youth League Committee at some areas.): How to induce children to like to read. In the process of educating my own child, I have taken three avenues:

First, buy more books which your children like, meanwhile, guide them to read the related books. Some parents buy the books that just consider whether it can help their children’s study or not. Such as, one lesson with one practice, compositions collection, and so on. The facts have proved that the more these books you buy, the more they would weary of study.

My son usually likes to read the books about Altman, so I bought a lot of these books to him, and then guided him to read the related books. Such as: robots, science, tell me why, as well as dinosaurs, animals and plants, and so on. Even though he is 8 years old, he has already read more than 400 books. The books which he read refer to every type, even including the very boring and difficult physics and chemistry.

Second, buy books to your children continually and create an environment which all family members are book-lovers. With the reading atmosphere and without interference reading choice, as well as the specific restriction on reading time and quantity, then, the collection of books in your family will become more and more. At that time, your children will love to read naturally.

According to a test, I found that if a second grade primary school child has more than 100 books besides the textbooks, almost every child would like to read. So, my suggestion is that parents should spend over 100 yuan on buying books to your children per month. Therefore, after your children graduate from elementary school, they will have nearly 800books. By reading these 800books, your children not only like to read, but also can get the larger information than that from the textbooks.

Third, you should be a listener and share your children’s feelings which they get from reading. When your children want to share their own knowledge they have learnt, no matter his expression is specific and accurate or not, you should be dedicated to listen. When they talk something you do not know, you should reflect your pleasure surprise and heartfelt appreciation to them by your language and expression and admit our ignorance. Therefore, our children will find the self-confidence and a sense of success from our ignorant.

Arrange the nutrition in reason for three meals every day

Scientific and suitable arranging for everyday three-meal nutrition is very important.Colloguialism says "diet cures more than the doctor".Therefore,in winter, you can edible more red Chinese date, lotus seed, sticky rice, yam, longan meet, lotus root and so on.Chicken, duck, fish, meet, egg and milk are all high-protein,high-fat food.If taken suitably,it can enhance the quantity of heat. Also, there are dried mushroom, agaric(black and white),pigeon, eel, soybean, chestnut and so on.Simultaneity, arrange the meat and vegetable, don't foget to eat more vegetable, fruit, vitamin, foodstuff, amylum, and this kind of food. It's suitable for children to adjust cures by red Chinese date, prince seng, longan soup and so son.

Experts reminds that children cures should be suitable. You'd better consult the doctor. If the method and dosage is not suitable,on the contracy,it will appear bad feedback of chest bored and sex earliness.

Children and lying-in woman shouldn't blindly take tonic

Some parents like to give excessive high-protein food for children to eat. They don't know that because weans' digestive system is on the stage of non-development mature period, excessive nutrition is easy to make their digest and absorb bad, leading certain inllness source. On the other hand, some children have sensitive response to fish, shrimp, crab and so on,which can result in this kind of sensitive illness repeatly and hard to heal.Their body immunity will be low, constitution will be weak.If children repeatly suffer this illness, cures should be carried out at the guidance of doctors for using drug on cerntain illness. This will
Experts also reminds that, since the pregnant period, pregnant women shouldn't misapply tonic,health-care tonic, otherwise,it may misfortune the embryo, and even lead to abortion, premature delivery. And children misapplying some tonic will make themself sex earliness.

The handicapped can suitably taking tonic

Three kinds of children is certain to consider suitable cures in winter.First, children of handicap and slow body growth.Second, children who is usally a valetudinarian all long, and easy to catch a cold, cough, bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia. As for these kinds of children, cures can not only prevent illness to come on,but also can enhance their resistivity. However, before taking tonic, children should take "plough medicine",and have cured the illness.Only when they are not ill and can have meals nomally, they can cure.Third, for the children who ihas weak spleen and stomach, bad enteron function,no appetite, easily tummy, the doctor should understand this kind of children's habitus, then begin to take tonic.

Generally speaking,in Autumn and Winter season, parents only need to pay attention to children's warm keeping and timely append clothes and quilt. Also, the clothes and quilt should be suitable.Excessive thick and warm clothes are easy for them to sweat, this will appear pore expanding.Adding that the outer climate is cold and hot by turns, taking off after sweating is easier to catch a cold, and make respiratory tract ill.

For children constitution, carrying out therapeutic diet

In winter, cures should depend on the constitution, and create customized prescriptions for patients, only by this will receive good effect.

"Can't sleep. Clown will eat me!"
- Bart Simpson

Snap quiz: Kids love clowns. Right?

Not so fast. According to a study published in January in Nursing Standard (a British journal), it's quite the opposite. I'm happy to report (for reasons I'll explain) that kids actually loathe clowns. The authors interviewed 240 hospitalized kids (ages 4-16 years) and asked if they appreciated the obligatory visits by clowns to cheer them up. The authors were surprised to find "that clowns are universally disliked by children. Some found them quite frightening and unknowable."

What a relief. I have always found them to be so, but as a sensitive, child-loving pediatrician, I've felt it politically incorrect to voice my prejudice.

**********
I vividly remember the following internal monologue when I was about seven years old and a clown insistently tried to amuse me at the Michigan State Fair: "Omygod. What manner of creature is this? What is his little game? What does he want from me? Why he is so in my face? How have I come to live in world where beings like this exist? Get me out of here. Dad, save me. This guy is scaring me!"

Turns out that - unbeknown to me - I'm part of the great silent majority who abominates clowns (we'll deal with mimes and Patch Adams at another time), and who holds in great suspicion the motives and mental health of many who put on red noses and oversized shoes to "cheer up" the children.

So I'm glad I don't like clowns, because if I liked clowns I would want to see them and I detest clowns.

**********
Author's message
To me, this whole clown debacle makes an important point: we adults just don't understand kids. We think of their lives as blissful and carefree, living large and loving clowns. But of course they are far more complicated than that, often wracked with anxieties and insecurities and feelings of powerlessness, mystified at the workings of the world and easily undone.

With our adult projections, we naively assume that all children love clowns (to the point we even inflict them on hospitalized kids). Which is why I love this study. Someone finally had the good sense to actually talk to and ask the kids themselves what they like and why. We need to do a lot more of that.

The internet is a fantastic way for us to communicate, quickly and easily and is questionably responsible for changing our lives over the last 20 years. There is no doubt is can help us gain knowledge, communicate, bank, shop, sell, make money, be creative and to express ourselves. However, for every good there has to be a bad and the internet is the same. No matter how we interact as human beings there are still those among us who are evil at heart and prey on the innocent.

We have to think the unspeakable before we can protect our children and there is no better place to try and hide than behind a telephone line or satellite dish with hundreds of miles separating us.

I was at a talk at my son’s school the other night and I am still amazed at how many parents don’t know what their children get up to on their computers. It’s not because we are not concerned about our children it’s because of the technology, we are scared of it and don’t have the inclination to learn about it: ‘it’s for the young’. Tell me this; if you had to learn how to use computers and the internet to save your child’s life, would you do it? That’s how dangerous the internet could be, so it’s better to learn as much as you can.

Here are 10 ways to keep your child safe online

The most important thing to do is talk with your children about safety online and how important it is for them to talk with you about anything that happens whilst on the internet. It is important for your children to understand that you are trying to protect them and talk with them about some things that have happened in real life to other children and how you want to prevent this happening to them. Advise your children that you don’t want to invade in their privacy but you will be keeping tabs on what they do online from now on.
Make sure you are the administrator on the computer and create another user account for your children which you will have control over. This means your children will be restricted as to what they can view and download.
The first thing to do is put a filter on what your children can and can’t access online and what type of sites they can view. Windows Vista has a parental control built in however there is other software out there which can help to keep children safe online, the most popular is ‘Net Nanny ‘.
Learn what your children are learning. Get to know sites like Bebo, Facebook, MySpace, and create a profile on them to get to know them better.
Learn how to use MSN messenger, AOL Messenger, Google talk etc. Insist that your children record their conversations so you can scan them at a later date. This sounds very intrusive but I would much rather keep my children safe and have them think I am being a pain. Learn how to record conversations in these messenger services and check on them weekly. You don’t need to read every detail of the conversation, you are there t protect, not to spy. I have advised my children they can still talk how they normally talk on these messenger services and they will not get into trouble, within agreeable limits of course.
Keep your child’s computer in a communal area within the house. If locked in a room there are unscrupulous people who can get your child to do something that they don’t want to if they know they are alone in a bedroom.
Remember that older children are curious about sex and relationships and the internet can be a safe way to explore this. If you find inappropriate content on the computer and it is not illegal and disturbing don’t worry too much. Try and remember what you were like as a teenager and how curious you were.
Check the sites your children are visiting by clicking on Control + H whilst in the browser they usually use. This will give you an idea about their surfing habits.
It’s not so common these days but make sure if your children enter chat rooms that they do not stumble in over 18’s cat lines. Also advise your children not to chat in the private rooms available on these sites, especially with people they do not know.
Know who to report any abuse that may happen on the internet. The first port of call is obviously the police if it is serious enough. However there are websites you can go to report abuse:

Virtual Global Task Force
Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre
DFES funded Parent’s Centre on Bullying
Internet Watch Foundation

Other sites you might be interested in:
http://safekids.com/
http://www.getnetwise.org/gnwtv/
http://www.kidsmart.org.uk/
http://www.netfamilynews.org/
http://www.parentscentre.gov.uk/usingcomputersandtheinternet/

Monitoring Your Baby’s Nanny: What You Really Must Do …

One of the more important steps that you can take when it comes to caring for and tending to your baby is hiring a nanny. Therefore, because of this fact, it is crucial that you take certain definitive steps to monitor your baby’s nanny thoroughly and consistently.

At the outset, when you bring a new nanny into your life and into the life of your baby, you should not leave the new hire unsupervised with your baby during the initial period. This does not mean that you must hover over the nanny during the entire time she is on duty. However, it does mean that during the initial period following the hiring you must not leave your baby alone with the nanny entirely. In other words, you will not necessarily want to leave the house for an extended period and leave the nanny behind alone with the baby.

Of course, if you are a working parent, this can be a challenge. Therefore, you may want to block out some time away from work – perhaps a week’s time – to tend to the orientation of the nanny into the family and to follow through on your own observation of the nanny.

In addition to the preliminary period of the nanny’s employ and the steps you need to take during that time, you will also want to make sure that you maintain a constant dialogue with the nanny over time. The reality is that you oftentimes can pick up on troubles if you are in an ongoing state of communication with a nanny, if you have established a closer relationship with her individually.

Moreover, you will always want to closely watch your baby or child (or children) when in the care of a nanny. A parent that stays well connected to his or her children can more readily detect changes in behaviours – no matter how slight – which may signal some sort of problem or issue with the nanny.

An ever increasing number of parents are taking the step of having a so-called “nanny-cam” installed. Actually, these parents tend to be having a set of nanny-cams installed throughout the residence to best track the nanny and to record (literally) what she does or does not due when on duty. This might seem like a rather drastic step. However, nanny-cams have become very affordable products and when it comes to protecting your children … the nanny-cam can be a solid investment.

If that is the case, do not make the same mistake that many people have made in this day and age. Specifically, just because you read it in a book or watch and hear it on a DVD does not mean that it is gospel truth.

By way of the information presented to you in this blog post, you are provided with elementary advice about how you can make the best use of information that is contained in books and on DVDs. By reviewing these materials, you will become a wiser consumer of the various types of advice that you can receive from books and DVDs about raising and rearing your children in the 21st century.

The fact is that there absolutely is nothing wrong with reading parenting books and viewing parenting DVDs. However, you would be best served by not wedding yourself to closely to one source of information.

When all is said and done, when parenting books and DVDs are closely considered, in many instances there are helpful tips, pointers and suggestions that can be gleaned from a number of different products of this nature. In other words, you really should took an approach that involves you contemplating what is offered in these books and DVDs, consider whether it makes sense generally and consider whether it fits into your own accepted concept of what will make you a good parent.

The fact is that very few people are devoid of their own innate parenting skills and abilities. Moreover, most people certainly are intelligent enough to foster their own ideas and thoughts pertaining to parenting. In the end, by using books and DVDs the result should not be merely to mimic the behaviour described in these products. Rather, books and DVDs should inspire you to be more thoughtful and proactive when it comes to the parenting of your children … today and in the future.

Parenting books and parenting DVDs are two of the many tools that you will want to consider utilizing as you work at your parenting skills, as you strive to improve the relationship that you have with your children.

DEAR SARA: I just found out that I’m pregnant, and I want to be prepared for baby expenses. I don’t see the need to spend a lot of money, but it’s difficult to pinpoint where frugality stops and excess begins. It’s such an exciting time. Can you offer a few frugal baby tips? — Rachel, e-mail

DEAR RACHEL: Congratulations! There are many choices and decisions when it comes to baby supplies and gear.

One thing I would not be frugal on is safety, so keep that in mind when buying products. I don’t recommend buying a secondhand car seat unless you know it has not been compromised. If you purchase secondhand gear such as high chairs, toys and playpens, be sure to check for manufacturer recalls. You can find that information on the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission’s Web site at www.cpsc.gov.

DIAPERING: Consider using cloth diapers. They’re not for everyone, but they have Velcro enclosures now that make them convenient. Liners make changing easier, too. If you opt for disposable diapers, register on manufacturer lists to receive coupons (these are often available at your doctor’s office) and ask around for diaper coupons. You can make homemade baby wipes by cutting a roll of heavy-duty paper towels in half (or your own cloth wipes by using flannel and sherpa or baby washcloths) and adding 2 cups water, 2 tablespoons baby oil and baby wash.

CLOTHING: Ask around and see whether anyone has any baby clothes they don’t need. You can save a lot of money if you’re willing to clothe your baby in secondhand clothing from friends, thrift stores, consignment shops and garage sales. Babies grow quickly, so be practical when it comes to newborns. For example, sleepers instead of fancy outfits would be money spent wisely. Remember that newborns don’t need shoes. That’s a want, not a need. Clothing options are even greater online, where you can swap clothes and buy new and used clothes inexpensively at places such as Freecycle.org, eBay.com and swapthing.com to name a few. Once your baby has outgrown them, you can swap them or resell them. Stay organized and make a list of basic nursery necessities to prevent impulse purchases.

FEEDING: Consider breast-feeding instead of bottle-feeding. If you prefer to bottle-feed, be sure to register with the formula company for free samples or ask your obstetrician for samples. You can also make your own baby food. I recommend the book “Super Baby Food” by Ruth Yaron (F.J. Roberts, 1998). If you plan to buy baby food, use coupons to lower the cost.

UNECESSARY ITEMS: It’s easy to splurge on baby items. If you want to stay on budget, don’t forget that some items just aren’t necessary. You don’t need a wipes warmer, diaper genie, tons of baby toys, baby detergent or even a changing table, if you think about it. However, only you can decide what you don’t want to live without.

Children today are eating more and more junk food and we are slowly getting into a diet crisis, so what are the facts?

The National Diet and Nutrition Survey found that:

92% of children consume more saturated fat than is recommended
86% consume too much sugar
72% consume too much salt
96% do not get enough fruit and vegetables.
The Chief Medical Officer has compared the crisis in children’s diets to a health ‘time bomb’ which must be defused.

Children’s dietary health, in particular childhood obesity, is widely recognised as one of our most pressing public health problems. The recent Foresight Report on Obesity makes grave predictions for the future state of the nation’s health unless we act now. Without action, 55% of boys, and 70% of girls, could be overweight or obese by 2050 and obesity will cost the country £45 billion a year.

Above is shocking, but why are our children always choosing junk food?

Children are constantly bombarded with junk food marketing. £480m is spent each year advertising products high in fat, salt and sugar on television alone.

Junk food marketing contradicts all the messages about healthy eating children receive, undermining their ability to choose better food and their parents’ efforts to feed them healthily.

Research by the Food Standard’s Agency, and others, has shown that junk food advertising directly and indirectly influences children’s food preferences, purchasing behavior and consumption.

So what can we do to help stop this?

A series of surveys have demonstrated that the majority of parents are in favour of a protecting their children from junk food advertising. A recent British Heart Foundation survey found that 68% of parents were in favour of pre-9pm junk food advertising restrictions, with only 7% against.

Which? found in 2006 that 79% of parents believe unhealthy foods should not be advertised during the times children are most likely to be watching television.

Ofcom found in 2004 that 81% of parents and carers wanted some form of regulation of the advertising of junk food products, while just 11% wanted no change at all. 48% supported a ban on junk food advertising before 9pm (24 percent opposed); 57% supported a ban on junk food advertising during children’s airtime; 24% supported a total ban on junk food advertising.
