The whole conference comes together bringing praise and worship to our Father God. Then, before midnight we break into small groups praying for the New Year. Our campus, the lost people, and other prayer requests. We pray through midnight. It was such an amazing and powerful way of bringing in the New Year. After the prayer, we sing more and laugh and cheer and dance! It is the most amazing New Year experience I've ever had! Praise God!
-Erin

Last year at Winter Conf. we were able to go into the community and deliver care packages to people. This box ends up here at E6:HQ.

It pains me to write this, but we must seek out the owner of a jacket that has been sitting here since last year. It is a black leather jacket. Embroidered on the left chest and full across the back in red stitching is the word "HIGHLANDER" in all caps and beneath it is a sword and the phrase "there can be only one." The team members here sometimes wear it when it's cold and we're going to the mexican restaurant and I forgot my jacket that day.

If you lost this jacket at conference last year, our loss can be your gain.. again. Also you will need to draw a picture of it by hand, mail us a photo of you wearing the jacket in two different settings (formal and informal), compose a song describing your sorrow and loss (a poem is also acceptable but it must rhyme), and we would really like it if you would register and go to Encounter06 this year, (knowing that your wound will soon be healed).

What you're saying about Encounter06

Well, I'd say that I'm coming back to Encounter this year because of the community and relevance I felt last year. I was pretty new to the movement when I came, and after experiancing the love and friendship from these people who just wanted to know me for me, I knew I had found a great place to do life. Also, the teaching and seminars were very relevant and thought provoking. I hate going to conferences where it almost seems like a waste of time, but at Encounter, I felt very engaged and I took a lot home from the conference. I was given the chance to lead a discussion group and different prayer groups. I was even able to lead a group on the streets in Greensboro when we went sharing.
Kyle

The biggest thing that impacted me at Winter Conference was the amazing worship. Considering that we had the chance to personally serve the community of Greensboro, listen to awesome speakers, and just hang out and have fun in general, saying that the worship was my favorite aspect of Encounter is not an empty statement. The connection with God through music was electric. It was something your heart could not contain, something that touched you at the core, something that showed you God's beautiful and terrible glory. I'm a very expressive, emotional guy, and for me, woshipping with a thousand other students brought me face to face with the Living God. That was my encounter and it rocked.
Shane

Last year I was so pumped about the conference that I never slept.
