Last year, the Oilers were second in their division. Now they’re sitting on the bottom of their division with a much lower record than expected. In addition, their star player, Connor McDavid, is playing and scoring much less than he was expected to. The Pacific division has had a dry start to their seasons, all except for the new team, the Vegas Golden Knights. There haven’t been any outstanding games shown by the other teams. The Pacific division has been stirred up in comparison to last year and any expected outcomes haven’t been produced yet. There are a lot of games left to be played and all it will take is a couple teams to hit a hot streak to change the standings in the Pacific division. One team that I was hoping to see a better turnout for their season was the Arizona Coyotes. They had a very rough year last season and now they aren’t seeing much of an improvement. The only team that has one less win than them right now are the Buffalo Sabres. The Coyotes are 7-18-5 and the Sabres are 6-17-4. They are fighting to not be in the last place slot in the entire NHL. It’s tough to watch these teams struggle, I don’t like watching professional teams look so uncoordinated. I hope their seasons start producing success for the players and the club as a whole!

On a different note, the Blackhawks came in first in the central division last year and now they are second to last this year. The Blackhawks have many skilled players but they just seem to be under-performing. Another team in the central division that isn’t doing nearly as well as they were doing at the end of last season is the Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks and the Wild finished in the top two spots in the central division last year but aren’t playing like they did at the end of the regular season. Right now these two teams are sitting in two of the three last place slots. The team that is in last in the central division is the Avalanche. They had a horrible season last year and although they are doing much better now, they are still the team that was expected to be in last place. A team that was quiet last year and in first place in the central division is the Winnipeg Jets. Right now, the Blues and Jets are competing for first place and it should be interesting to see what the product of further competition should produce.

Following the Central division, there is the Metropolitan division. The biggest changeup that we have witnessed in this division thus far is the surprising grit that the New Jersey Devils have shown. They had a poor season last year coming in last place and right now they hold second place in the Metropolitan division just two games from being tied for first place. The other teams in the division aren’t too far off from what has been expected. The Pittsburgh Penguins have been doing mediocre for being a Stanley Cup team and have had some great losses to teams with large deficits. Usually, the Stanley Cup team poses a challenge to the rest of the league, but there hasn’t been anything extraordinary yet.

Lastly, we have the Atlantic division which hasn’t surprised us too much. There are two teams in this division that have been a lot of fun to watch. These two teams hold the first and second place in the division and have some great players. The Lightning are in first with the Maple Leafs trailing by one game in the win category but 3 points to tie. On the Lightning, they have Stamkos and Kucherov which are the dynamic duo. These two players have had some great passes, plays, and goals that you find yourself watching over and over again. On the Maple Leafs, you have Auston Matthews who is 20 years old and has had an amazing season. He is a top contender for points and he has incredible goals. These top two teams other than the Vegas Golden Knights are some of the best teams to watch right now. The bottom teams in the Atlantic division do not come at much of a surprise. The only team that comes at a surprise for being low in the standings are the Ottawa Senators which are in third to last but were in second place last year. They have had an unfortunate season but they have the ability to make a strong comeback. The Sabres and Panthers are the bottom of this division and haven’t been a top contender for a while now.

This Warlock profession guide is written with a different intent. There are many great profession combination’s that can work very well with a diverse class like the Warlock, and the goal of this guide is for you to take away the best possible profession for your Warlock’s playing style.

Warlocks are amazingly powerful damage dealers in World of Warcraft, but can be somewhat of a glass cannon at times since their armor is entirely cloth. Although since Wrath of the Lich King Warlock gear has become spirit based, both intellect and stamina are still very important. Many Warlocks choose to focus more on intellect than stamina due to the nice damage bonuses, but they lose health as a consequence. As a Warlock, it’s important to pick your profession carefully so that you can level efficiently without being afraid of dying–unless you have an extremely fat wallet, you’re going to need that extra gold later!

Enchanting and Tailoring

The most common profession for Warlocks is definitely the Enchanting/Tailoring combo. Warlocks can be an expensive class because of all the potions required during regular leveling, and making your own armor can definitely help reduce the overall cost of leveling a Warlock. Because only cloth armor is worn, Tailoring becomes the most obvious choice as a profession. A Warlock can create very nice pre-raid armor through Tailoring. However, the best aspect of becoming a tailor is that it allows players to create their own bags. Bags can be surprisingly expensive in the world of Azeroth, and it can really save some gold to be able to make your own. Even better, bags sell for huge profit in the Auction House. The best bag for a Warlock is the Abyssal Bag, which is a Soul bag that can hold up to 32 Soul Shards. Any player that levels a Warlock for long enough knows how frustrating carrying around Soul Shards can become. Enchanting can strongly supplement this choice because a few good enchants can significantly improve a Warlocks PVP and PVE experience. Although all good players and classes use enchants, it is almost essential for a Warlock to use enchants as it becomes much more important in DPS classes. Disenchanting can be quite profitable and can turn useless junk into Auction House treasure. A player can disenchant many common items into essences, shards, and dust that they can then use to fund their enchanting.

Herbalism and Alchemy

It’s no secret that Warlocks burn through mana and healing potions at an amazing speed regardless of build. Choosing the Herbalism and Alchemy professions puts Warlocks at an advantage in raids and instances as well as PVE. Elixers and flasks are great for improving raid and instance performance, and the Auction House profits aren’t bad, either. The Life Blood buff, acquired by becoming a Herbalist, can be a real life saver in a tough battle as it can heal for 2000hp over five seconds. Since many Warlock talents require sacrificing health for mana, this can be an extremely useful buff for any player.

Other

Another useful Warlock profession is Inscription, which you can use to create stat enhancing glyphs to either use or auction. Warlocks, depending on their build, may have a hard time questing and raiding due to low mana. The injectors for healing potions and mana potions can be extremely useful. Choosing the Engineering profession not only allows a Warlock to create injectors but also Goggles, which are favored by DPS caster classes. Although certainly not the most directly useful Profession to leveling, some Warlocks opt to become Miners simply for the Toughness buff. This buff can improve your Stamina by 50 which can help especially during AoE.

Best Locations to Farm Relics of Ulduar

While there are many locations you can farm these relics from I will only include what I have found to be the top three locations along with tips and techniques for each spot.

1. Snowdrift Plains (North Western Corner of Storm Peaks). This is my favorite location to farm these relics from because of their amazing high drop rate. The problem with this location is that all the gold farmers know this as well, but there is a workaround to this problem. Most people try to farm these from the quarry pit but on the other side of the snowdrift is another location that sees very little traffic. So your best bet is if you see two or three people in the quarry just head on over to the other side and enjoy all the drops for yourself.

2. Vrykul Mines (Inside the Brunnhildar Village). This is another one of my favorite locations for farming relics of Ulduar. The miners inside the village have a high re-spawn rate as well as a high drop rate for these relics. The main problem here is that the location also is home to a daily quest and so can become crowded with competition. It’s not a big drawback however as the daily quest is fast and easy and you’ll soon be the only one left still farming in here.

3. Fjorn’s Anvil (77,63). Just west of the Dun Niffelem and beyond the frozen lake is where you’ll find Fjorn’s Anvil. This is my favorite location for farming relics of Ulduar. All you need to do here is to kill the seething revenants, over and over again. Why is this spot so great? Simple not only do these creatures have an insane re-spawn rate but they also drop greens, gold and of course the relics. On a good run you can pick up easily at least 100 relics an hour here.

The main problem with this location is high traffic. Not only are there other players completing daily quests here but this is also prime ganking grounds. So the solution is simple, if you see heavy traffic around here, then go check out the other locations mentioned above and return here later when things cool off.

If you ask me, FishVille is not really much of a game and more like a past time pet simulators. I mean, keeping a dog and cats is a wonderful idea, but fish? Well it is not really a bad idea once you give the game a try. Zynga does provide a good way for most people who do not have time or the patience to keep real pets. Thumbs up for Zynga on the fish idea!

First we look into the gameplay, you started off with a small fish tank which you are provided with a few credits to buy some fish eggs and also a fish food. Once you decided what fish you wish to buy, all you have to do is to put the egg into your fish tank and start raising your fish from there. I am not really good with fish, so I could not really tell the difference really, only thing I know about fish is when it is on my plate cooked and ready to eat.

As a responsible owner (unlike me), you will need to feed your fish from time to time, but good thing about virtual pet compare to the real thing. They cannot DIE! I was like… have not touched this games like over a month and my fish is still swimming around in the fish tank after I decide to log in (See I told you I am a bad owner).

Next thing you must know, like a real fish, the game starts you off with a baby fish, from there you will have to nurture your fish to adulthood. Sound easy? It actually is! All you have to do is to remember to feed your fish and make them happy. If you are kind of curious how long your fish is going to go from baby to adulthood, just put your mouse pointer over it and you will be able to see the status bar.

If you get bored of seeing the same old fish, you can either tap on the glass to make your fish swim around the tank (Just for fun) or you can sell them off and get a new fish and start from beginning again. Best part of this game is that you can even name your fish after your best friends.

Last but not least, decorations! Once in awhile when you have enough cash to spend, you can always drop by the local pet shop and do a bit of shopping. Things like plants, rocks, corals are all available with the right amount of cash in hand. This is where you really makes a difference in your aquarium and compare them to your friends.

FishVille is a very beautiful simulator as all the fishes look colorful and attractive. Even when I am actually a cat person (I personally have a cat in my house), I like how my aquarium turns out. At least I do not have to be freak out when my cat try to reach for my virtual fishes.

Sound

Funky music is all I can say and once it gets into your head, you might like to turn the music off. I would leave the sound FX on, hearing the sound of bubbles and fishes is kind of relaxing really.

Conclusion

Really this is not much of a game, it is a Pet simulator. For those who love to keep fish, but afraid to invest your time and money into it then Fishville is for you. If you are looking for adventure or some other simulators, then I would suggest avoiding this game.

Personally I score this game/simulator 3 out of 5.

He recommended Darvas’ strategy and told traders that the Darvas System is, “widely used and followed today by the best traders in the world, and still this breakout method is little understood by most…”

His statement could not have been more accurate.

Zanger is still a big advocate of Darvas’ teachings and he tells traders that applying the Darvas method will “yield fortunes beyond the reader’s wildest dreams.”

Zanger was listed by Trader Monthly magazine as one of the top 100 traders in the world with an annual income of $25 million!

David Ryan

David Ryan got started with a $20,000 account in 1982. He more than doubled this account in less than one year.

This quick success gave Ryan the confidence to enter the prestigious U.S. Investing Championship in 1985. He won the event with a return of 161%. To prove that his performance was not a one-hit wonder, he entered the competition again in 1986 and, despite finishing in second place, achieved a gain of 160%.

Ryan ended up winning the event twice and from 1985-1987, he produced a compounded return of 1,379%!

Not surprisingly, Ryan credits Darvas as being a major influence on his trading method.

Gary Smith

In 1985, a nearly bankrupt Gary Smith took a meager $2,200 and turned it into an account that now produces annual profits of more than $190,000.

How did he get started? He credits Nicolas Darvas for having the most impact on his career as a full time trader.

Gil Morales

In 1999, Gil Morales wowed investment circles with a one-year return of 971%! But how did he do in the bear market that followed? In the period ending from 1998 through 2005, Morales achieved a total return of 10,904.25%!

Today, Morales is a sought-after fund manager and publicly recommends that investors learn from Nicolas Darvas’ teachings.

Ced Moses

Ced Moses made a big name for himself when he entered and won the 1991 U.S. Investing Championship with a record-setting return of 379%! He would go on to start his own hedge fund where triple-digit returns became the norm and he was named to Nelson’s list of The World’s Best Money Managers.

Who does he credit as a major influence on his trading strategy? You guessed it, Nicolas Darvas.

Timothy Sykes

When Timothy Sykes was 18, he took his Bar Mitzvah gift of $12,415 and started trading with it. In just three years, at the age of 21, Sykes had traded that small account into a $1.65 million fortune. He would go on to start his own hedge fund, which quickly became one of the top-rated funds in the Barclays Fund Rankings.

Sykes lists Nicolas Darvas as a key influence on his trading approach and states succinctly that Darvas’ system is “timeless” and that despite the fact that Darvas created his system in the late 1950s, “his technique still works to this day.”

What They ALL Have in Common

These prolific traders all became well-known for achieving seemingly impossible returns in a very short period of time. They all started with relatively small accounts and turned them into fortunes. And they all have one thing in common: their tremendous respect for the teachings of Nicolas Darvas.

Perhaps this is something more than a coincidence. Perhaps Nicolas Darvas truly deserves recognition as a Hall of Fame trader.

Recent studies have shown that people who play games that require a great deal of thought and strategic thinking are more likely to perform better at work and to have less stress and anxiety in their lives. This admittedly sounds somewhat dubious to many people who have never really had the opportunity to play these types of games. This is admirable. If I’m confident of anything, it’s that to be an author you have to be willing to spend hours of your life equivalent to entire years out of your life slaving away writing. I’m just for sure that you need to read at least just as much.

One thing that gets unfortunately overlooked by many is that you also have to be willing to leave your books and your computer behind sometimes. To engage others.

Not that you can’t be an introvert. Thousands of widely regarded successful authors were introverts. That’s is because in some way or another they were able to overcome, albeit sometimes only briefly, their restrictions and step outside of their comfort zones.

That’s because while writing can take many forms; journaling, hobbies writing, personal letter writing. Authorship is a profession, and that means that it falls within a business structure. No matter how sincerely you believe that Jack Kerouac went from nothing to a fantastic book within two weeks of boozing (which FYI, in reality, he didn’t). If you want to move books from shelves, you will need to approach the task earnestly. With a humble attitude that is open to working with others.

The business of writing, designing, editing, publishing, marketing, and selling your books requires a multitude of strangers. Regardless of whether you have a small budget, or you’re JK Rowling.

In fact, the small your budget, the approach is better suited to involving a large number of people each with small, potentially volunteer style task. For instance, having friends complete a narrative edit before giving it to a professional editor, to reduce the amount of paid time the editor has to spend on the manuscript.

For your first book, I highly suggest having a strong group of people who can offer various products, services, and insights to help you stay focused, motivated, and up-to-speed on the ever-changing self-publishing landscape.

Being a successful author requires a lot more than just writing a great book. You have to get into the weeds, be willing to change out of your writer’s cap and into a variety of other hats depending on where you are in the process.

There is so much helpful information here I try to time my visits to make sure I’m not eating into my writing time!

2. Kindlepreneur

If you want to dig deep into the goulash of marketing your books, Dave Chesson of Kindlepreneur is your man. His strategies are groundbreaking. Every successful author has to wear many hats, and Dave shares his years of marketing experience and success to show you how to promote the heck out of your books.

3. The Book Designer

Joel Friedlander, the creator of The Book Designer, says “Writers change the world one reader at a time. But you can’t change the world with a book that’s still on your hard drive or in a box under your bed.” This embodies the Community Writer mentality. Joel gives you everything you need to get your book out of the box with a variety of self-publishing guides, advice, templates, and toolkits. With his experience in book design and advertising, Joel has the creds to help you produce and sell a great-looking book.

4. The Creative Penn

The Creative Penn is run by Joanna Penn, who has been wildly successful with fiction and nonfiction. In her blog and podcast, she covers every aspect of what it takes to start and run a successful author business. There are tons of writing forums out there to choose from, so I suggest you have a play with a few of them. This one works a bit differently which is why I like it though. Scribophile provides detailed and helpful critiques from a member exchange. The analyses you’ll get are so much more than just a pat on the back – you’ll get actionable ways to improve your writing.

13. Scrivener

Scrivener is a powerful writing tool for authors that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring your documents. Get a free 30-day trial and watch some brief YouTube tutorials to get acquainted with the system quickly.

14. Grammarly

This proofreading application is an improved version of your standard spellchecking program. Just copy and paste blocks of text into Grammarly, and it will check your writing for common mistakes. The reason it’s better than most spellcheckers is that it provides useful feedback that will improve the overall quality of your book. You will learn a lot very quickly by taking heed of the side bar suggestions and explanations.

15. Hemingway Editor

Excellent writing is quite often straightforward writing, and Hemingway was the master at that. Whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction, your narrative should get to the point with simple language. With the He
mingway software, you will learn how to simplify your writing.

Book Publishing and Freelance Help

16. Archangel Ink

Archangel Ink is a one-stop solution for getting your book ready to publish. Archangel offers a range of services to help you with cover design, editing, formatting, audiobook production and much more. I feel that if you haven’t published before you learn a lot by manually going through the process of completing your manuscript via Scrivner, finding editors/cover creators via say Reedsy/Freelancer and then uploading it to KDP/Createspace. However it can be frustrating, so I completely understand throwing down some cash and handing of some or all of this to someone else. I’m currently considering using Archangel Ink to produce and audiobook for me.

17. 99 Designs

This is a service where you post a design project, like your book cover, and dozens of freelancers submit mock-up examples. You then select finalists based on the submissions and choose the winner to work with you to create a finalised version. 99Designs can be pricey, but it’s a great option if you want a professional cover design for your book.

18. Grammarly

I won’t rant on this too much as already do that frequently enough if you don’t have the free version of this you need to get it now. What some of you might not know, is that via the paid version they have an option to connect you with a professional proof reader. I haven’t used this before but considering the calibre of everything else they do I think it’s worth investigating.

19. Freelancer

One the most significant websites for hiring freelance talent. If you want to find the largest pool of people, then this is a great place to look. The app makes chatting with prospective freelancers seamless so you can manage your project and selection of the perfect candidate on the go.

20. Reedsy

Reedsy offers a boutique experience in editing and cover design. Most freelancers here have worked in the publishing industry, so they have a thorough understanding of what will work for your books. But you should also expect to pay more for the freelancers you find here. If you’re going the self-publishing route within fiction, a professional editor is a must, an absolute necessity, seriously. Reedsy is a great way to find one, with almost every budget available. If you can’t afford the lower tier, I suggest saving your pennies or going the traditional publishing route, where a publisher will provide you a professional editor to work with.

Getting Feedback

21. Survey Monkey

Is an easy to use survey builder; ask multiple choice questions and get demographic information about your audiences, like age, sex, or occupation. You can use it for your current email list, or post a survey with a lead magnet somewhere your target audience will see it (forums, pay-per-click ad etc.)

22. PickFu

PickFu allows authors to get instant feedback on your book before you publish using audience polls. This is a more advanced option for those who already have income streams, again I don’t suggest paying for a resource unless you’ve used a free version and had equitable success with it.

Email Marketing

23. AWeber

With a drag and drop email builder, unlimited image storage and an easy to use interface, AWeber is a great option to manage your email marketing communication.

24. MailChimp

MailChimp offers 12,000 emails to 2,000 subscribers – free. That’s what MailChimp can do for you. A great email marketing resource if you’re just getting started. MailChimp is easy to set up, easy to manage and offers an easy to scale pricing plan as your list grows. As the Wix email option ‘Shoutout’ has a capped number of emails you can send but an exportable email list. You can use MailChimp to send additional emails if you are pushing the boundaries of the free Wix option.

25. Constant Contact

You can’t call yourself constant contact and then not be available to your customers. And that’s just what makes this email automation company shine. They offer round the clock support 7 days a week. They also offer 60-day FREE trial.

26. SpyFU

Search for any domain and see every place they’ve shown up on Google: every keyword they’ve bought on AdWords, every organic rank, and every ad variation in the last 11 years. This combined with Wix’s seamless SEO makes key words unbelievably easy. You don’t need to have some ten years long.

Learn how to connect with these domains, too. Find online and traditional leads methods — social media, email, phone, and address — you can’t find anywhere else. So you can look at other authors within your niche and find out exactly where readers are going to find them.

Staying Organized

27. Google Keep

Keep is an excellent organisation tool. It stores every idea, research plan and content structure. Which can quickly be dumped into Scrivner later.

28. Evernote

Another option this is with a few more features is Evernote, you can save snippets of content you find online and go back to all of it in a searchable, taggable easy to find notebooks on Evernote. It also connects to my Google Home via IFTTT which frustratingly Google Keep doesn’t seem to, so I can handsfree keep notes easily.

29. Google Drive

Accessible from anywhere with internet, Google Drive is a great collaborative tool for teams to use when you’re working with content, files, or images in tandem. Google Sheets and Google Docs makes group work seamless, and all work can easily be shared with hyperlinks.

30. Tomato Timer

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management strategy preferred by many authors. It’s not always easy to keep track of the non-writing tasks related to your book projects. With Brain Focus Productivity Timer, an excel sheet (or just pen and paper) and Scrivner’s session tracking you can keep motivated with tangible evidence of how hard you’re working. Not only time associated with the project. Team Viz is another excellent paid alternative to this method, and you can’t forget the simple Tomato Timer (tomato-timer.com)

31. Slack

It’s like super chat. Instant communication. Instant file transfer. Indexed and Searchable. It is fantastic for collaboration if you have a specific project you are working on. Again, use wisely, if you are co-authoring for example. Not if you’re just working with a freelancer for a short time, instead use the platform’s chat for content protection!

32. Lander App

I have experimented with A/B testing in the past but didn’t feel that it was hugely beneficial. I think that you have to have a relatively sophisticated reason to use A/B testing. Potentially I’ll use this for a book launch with a landing page in the future. Of those that I experimented with, I found Lander App to be the most straightforward to use.

Again, if you don’t know what A/B testing doesn’t worry, you don’t need to! Don’t jump to trying to use A/B testing, focus instead on the following:

– Mailing list Opt-in rate

– You unique visitor Site traffic

– Total engagement (comments, email responses) / Book Sales

For the third point there, you concentrate on engagement if you haven’t released your first book yet!

Website Hosting

33. Freenom – A Name for Everyone

One of my favourite hosting companies, if you’re just starting out, I don’t suggest spending any money on anything if you can avoid it. This is perfect for this, as instead of choosing a.com or a.net you can get a free domain and easily swap with redirection later once you’re profitable. Personally, I use Wix for all website things, but this is an excellent option if you’re just starting out.

34. WP Engine

WP Engine is a hosting company that provides managed WordPress hosting for websites around the world. They have great support, and their servers help your WordPress
site run a top speed. I use Wix as I find it far more user-friendly, however, the advanced features do require a minimum annual cost. With WordPress, most features can be scaled up for free, but a bit more mucking around with add-ons and tech stuff.

The Right Start

To effectively utilize the crafting professions in AoC to make gold, you need to get off to a good start at Level 20. You cannot choose your crafts until Level 40, but you can start harvesting at Level 20 and those resources you harvest will be invaluable when you start crafting later on.

While the harvesting professions are largely quite boring, you should take the option to learn all 6. There are a few reasons for this. First, you don’t want to pay for resources later. Second, you can start gathering and storing away resources early for when you hit level 40 and start crafting in earnest. Third, you can find resources everywhere in the game, but you won’t find every resources everywhere in the game. It’s a great start and you will thank yourself later for it.

Choosing Your Crafting Profession in AoC

Of the five primary crafting professions in AoC, there are three that can actually make you money with two of them that are better than the rest. Here is a quick run down:

Armorsmithing – This is the longest and most arduous to level up but the most profitable of the professions. You can create armor for any slot and add valuable gem slots that coincide with any level from 20-80. If you have the time and the resources, you should choose this one. Also, you can craft your own gear and save a ton of gold later on.

Weaponsmithing – If you want a somewhat easier profession to level but still want to make gold, this is your best bet. Craft any number of weapons with gem slots for big gold rewards later down the road.

Gemcutting – This is a popular but hard to master profession that requires you to pretty much go out and farm on mobs or spend a ton of gold in the Trade Posts buying the necessary gems.

Alchemy – Alchemy may prove to quite profitable down the line, but the first 6 weeks of the game’s launch had it largely broken so it will take time for that to be determined.

Architecture – This is a money sink and is only necessary for those building their Guild’s City. Adjustments are being made so Architects can actually make cash later, but for now, steer clear.

The Best Crafting Profession in AoC

By far, the best of the above professions in Armorsmithing. You can create your own armor, making any slot’s gear, and add gem slots for big benefits. It takes a ton of time and a ton of gold to level it up, but when you hit Level 80 and get your Tier 6 taken care, it will prove itself as the best crafting profession in AoC for gold making.

Interestingly, happiness studies have exploded over the last few years. It seems like new books on the subject are popping up regularly. The volume of research-based, best-selling books indicates that this is a topic that people are very interested in, though the interest can hardly be thought of as new. Even the Founding Fathers had it in mind!

In The Pursuit of Happyness, Chris Anderson (played by Will Smith) is continually frustrated by his son’s daycare, who can’t get the word happiness right.

Have you been feeling like you can’t get happiness right either? How hard is it to be happy anyway?

There are a number of things that have been shown to make people happy. The ingredients are all pretty simple and it is fairly easy to identify ones that are missing. For instance, not having enough money to take care of your family’s basic needs. Having family members in crisis. Lacking specific goals to change outcomes. These are things that make us unhappy.

We Can All Identify Things That Are Contributing to Unhappiness

So why do many people still, at least mostly, feel happy? Why does hope and optimism continue to rise even when many of the basic ingredients are missing?

Is there anything you can do to fan this little spark of happiness into a flame? Does it even matter if you are happy? Current research in the field of positive psychology offers insights into these questions.

Shawn Achor is a former Harvard professor and the current CEO of Good Think Inc., a Cambridge-based consulting firm which conducts research to understand where human potential, success and happiness intersect.

According to Achor, “We’re finding it’s not necessarily the reality that shapes us, but the lens through which your brain views the world that shapes your reality. And if we can change the lens, not only can we change your happiness, we can change every single educational and business outcome at the same time”

If You Can Change Your Lens, Will You Change Your Life?

Research conducted by Achor indicates that a positive brain is 31% more productive than a negative, neutral or stressed brain. According to Achor, raising your present level of positivity allows your brain to experience what is called a happiness advantage. This simply means that your intelligence, creativity and energy levels increase.

This indicates that not only do you need to change your lens, but you specifically need to make your lens more positive. There’s more to this good news. When you are positive, dopamine floods your system, not only making you happier (and counteracting stress hormones), but also turns on all of the learning centers in your brain!

Sign Me Up! What Do I Need to Do?

Happily, Achor gives several ways you can rewire your brain in just a couple minutes per day. You can do one or several. Each will help increase your happiness.

• The first is gratitude. The exercise is to write three new things you are grateful for every day for 21 days (no repeating of things you are grateful for). This retrains your brain to look for positive things instead of negative.

• Second, journal about one positive experience per day.

• Third, teach your brain that behavior matters by exercising.

• Fourth, meditate – which allows your brain to relax and unplug from multitasking.

• Finally, Achor recommends practicing conscious acts of kindness, such as writing one positive email to a friend or relative each day.

Haven’t We Always Wanted to Be Happy?

Even the Mayo Clinic has an article about how to be happy. They recommend investing in relationships, practicing gratitude, cultivating optimism, finding your purpose, and living in the moment. Many of the same things that Achor’s research has found to be helpful in increasing happiness. There are even (research-based) happiness quizzes so you can see how happy you are. Some even track your happiness level over time!

I hate feeling unhappy, depressed, or anxious. In fact, I try to avoid triggers that are going to make me feel this way, like news reports (which are all pretty much negative). However, when circumstances in my life cause me to experience all three of these emotions, I know I need to take a step back. It is easy to spot a general sense of negativity and gloom because it seems to lodge in the middle of my chest. This definitely affects happiness, or more accurately, unhappiness. The good news is that happiness doesn’t have to be tied to circumstances.

Do you want greater happiness? There are research-based solutions that can literally change your mind. All you have to do is implement some of these strategies. Number 1: Job choice. The preferred job choice is the Swordsman one. The trick is killing enemies on the fastest time. To be able to do this, you need the Magnum Break Skill, Fly Wings, and potions/fruits (whatever heals/cures the characters). To be able to be a Swordsman, you have to get your job level to 10.

Number 2: (Once a Swordsman) Where to level-up to be able to use the Magnum Break Skill. To be able to use the Magnum Break Skill, you have to increase your job level up to 10. Go to the Spores for this one. Get as much Magnum Break level as possible.

Number 3: Where to increase your base level up to 30: Go to the Poison Spores. The key here is luring and defeating as much Poison Spores as you can handle and kill with Magnum Break. Use your potions/fruits and Fly Wings along the way.

Number 4: Where to increase your base level up to 40: Go to the Orc Warriors (Orc Village).

Use the same technique used above.

Number 5: Where to increase your base level up to 53 and attain enough job level to be a Knight: Orc Zombie.

Number 6: Change into a second job as a Knight.

Number 7: Go back to the Orc Zombies to increase your base level up to 70. Try to change your weapon into a Pike and replace your skill from Magnum Break to Bowling Bash as fast as you can. Also, rent a Peco Peco as fast as you can

Number 8: If you don’t have much Zenny, keep on fighting Orc Zombies until you reach base level 99. Otherwise, go to other monsters which give more experience points until you reach base level of 99.

Number 9: Weapon choice: get as much strength as possible depending on your Zenny.

Number 10: What to increase: I would suggest filling up the DEX first as much as possible. Then, do the same with VIT. Lastly, spend the remaining points on STR. If there are still remaining points, it’s up to you where you would want to spend them.

Number 11: Use potions/fruits reasonably.

Number 12: Use fly wings for time efficiency.

This gives you an idea of how to level-up fast on Ragnarok Online. You can mix it up depending on your taste, style, and the like. Good luck!

Luckily, there is a happy medium I have found to work by providing me with a

plethora of beats and instrumentals that fit the mood of the kinds of songs I

like to write (mostly dark, twisted lyrics with dark humor or stories).

Google is a want to-be rapper’s best friend. By using the search engines,

I have been able to stumble upon a few sites promising beats that work

with my style. Take some time to look for “instrumentals”, “beats”, and

long-tail keywords such as “how to create songs at home” to really

zero in on what you want, which is: AFFORDABLE beats that get your head

nodding and your creative juices flowing.

Now, what’s really in is all this southside, “dirty dirty” crunk beats, etc.

This may be your thing, but because the rap market is so saturated,

you have to stand out, both lyrically and conceptually. That is why

it is soo important to focus on gathering your beats from only ONE or

TWO producers. This will give you more of a unified sound. When you

go all over the net looking for “free” this and “free” that, you are asking

for a discombobulated demo or street album that will come off as

unprofessional and corny.

There are a lot of guys out there selling their beats. How do you know if

they are any good, or worth the price? Look for producers who are selling

LOTS of beats but who aren’t just GIVING them away. The problem with

free beats is that EVERYONE and their momma is using them. Instead,

get quality beats, preferably for a ONE-TIME fee so you have all the

time you need to remix them, alter them, speed them up, slow them down,

etc. without worrying about buying more or paying some monthly

And finally, DO your research. Always remember that writing and performing

The question though, is how do you do that? How do you make sure that you can keep on selling copies of your books for years to come?

The answer is simple.

You need to write more books that your readers want to read.

And it doesn’t matter if you’re writing fiction or non-fiction. The advice I’m going to give you works for both.

What you need to do is not just write a book, but write a series of books. That way, once someone has read your book, they can come back for more.

The first thing you need to do is plot out your series. Then each book you write has to be a complete book in itself (needs a satisfactory ending or conclusion) plus it needs to keep your readers hungry for more.

If you write fiction, then it’s easy to write an ongoing saga split into a series of books, just like the Harry Potter novels did. Each one was a book on its own, but at the same time, the story of the three main characters, just kept going and going as different problems arose for them in each consecutive book.

If you write non-fiction, then you need to write a series of books all based on the same topic. For instance, if you want to write about dogs, you could write one big generic book, or you could split it down into more detailed books about dog health, dog training, breeding, looking after a puppy, grooming, showing and so forth.

That way, as your reader’s dog grows from puppy to adult, they can keep buying books about how to look after it. And if it’s one of your books that they started with, and you’ve advertised your other books in the back of each one, then chances are good that they’ll stick with the same author.

And it’s the same with fiction. Once your readers get to know and like your main characters, they’ll want to read more about them. Or you could write about different characters but in the same place, like a haunted house that tries to kill people who stay there, or a series of horror books about zombies, or a series of Western novels or romance books.

Once you start thinking about it and researching for ideas, you’ll be amazed at what you can come up with.

But the important thing is to keep writing, publishing and marketing every book you write.

Though not as well-known as the other books on this list, “IT Works!” was first published as a pamphlet in 1926 and has been in print ever since. The author is listed only as RHJ and it was found out later that RHJ was Roy Herbert Jarrett and little is known about him other than he was born in 1874.
