The anticipation for college enrollment and getting shortlisted in merit list will give them sleepless nights. Choosing the right college is extremely essential to begin your career. A reputed college provides a necessary platform to the student. Students will not only get the right environment but will also get the higher chance to get selected in the reputed company through campus interview. They say when you aim high you get higher outcome.

But the million dollar question is which college is best for your kids? Since there are many options available, how do you come to know that which college suits your student.

Every year more than 2 million innocent kids aged below 5 years succumb to diarrhea. Most of these deaths are their family members are ignorant about proper hygiene. This needs to be end because we can’t let innocent die in this manner. Lifebuoy has taken up the initiative of reaching out millions of people across the world and inform them about the need of washing hands.

Over the years, it has been championed the cause of maintain proper hygiene, but it’s for the first time, it has become part of a mission. This mission involves a village named Thesgora that has been noticing one of the largest number of diarrhea cases across India.

The video talks about the village where children are not able to survive more than 5 years age. The video shows celebration of an entire village when a child of a villager crosses 5 year age. This is certainly a time for jubilation because this has never happened in past. People don’t take their hygiene seriously. For instance, rarely do we see parents asking their child to wash hands before taking meal. This should be must in every family, but a majority of families doesn’t have this tradition.

A dirty hand can make us sick or cause serious ailments, so washing hands with soap before taking meal is a must. Lifebuoy is a trusted and a well-known brand, so if you’re conscious about its mission, then you can be part of it, by joining its facebook page. Anybody who wishes to help the needy kids of that village should come forward and help Lifebuoy.

Ever since the announcement by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) of having ”preliminary” results pointing to the discovery of the long-sought “THE GOD PARTICLE”, Scientifically known as the Higgs boson, on july 4th 2012, the world has been in a frenzy. Physicists around the globe welcomed this news with intellectual fireworks.

However, there have been some major misconceptions about the Higgs Boson due to its popularly coined name THE GOD PARTICLE- Higgs boson. This term was coined by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Leon M. Lederman and science writer Dick Teresi, in the book titled “The God Particle: If The Universe Is The Answer, What Is The Question?”. But it wasn’t what he wanted to call it. Originally he wanted to call it the “Goddamn Particle”, because “nobody could find the thing”. But his editor convinced him “The God Particle” would sell more copies. We don’t know whether that’s true, but what certainly is true is the name stuck.

Due to this name ”The God particle” there has been so much speculation about it being some missing link to God. Some people are falsely thinking that science and religion are about to converge finally. This is untrue. The reason this particle’s name was accepted as The God Particle was because its discovery was so important for the verification of the STANDARD MODEL of the UNIVERSE. It already existed as a mathematical & theoritical reality for long, being one of the 12 ELEMENTARY PARTICLES of the STANDARD MODEL. But its actual discovery will take the world of science a step forward in achieving the goal of finding the last evasive particle in Standard Model and unifying the STANDARD MODEL with Einstein’s general relativity.

So what exactly is Higgs-boson ? At this point we can be certain that it is not the proof of existence of God, or has anything to do with the deity we pray to.Scientifically speaking HIGGS BOSON is a tiny subatomic particle that apparently weighs about 130 times as much as an atom of hydrogen, the lightest gas. It interacts with other subatomic particles that are building blocks of atoms in a way that slows them down. It’s the reason that matter in the universe has mass. . Actually as per Standard Model all force carrying boson should have mass zero, the exception is W+- and Z0 the carrier of weak force. Higgs predicted the particle known as Higgs boson which will provide the mass to these force carrying boson. Mass gives the particles inertia, or resistance to being moved faster. For a simple analogy Compare Higgs bosons to groupies mobbing a celebrity. The other particles are the celebrities, desperately trying to move but slowed by autograph-seekers. Higgs bosons don’t have pens, but the attention they give to the other particles slows them, creating inertia.

Physics is a sublime subject. So is God. Instead of waiting for the two to merge using the logic that our puny minds can fathom, it is better for now to let the two run their apparently divergent courses and let us appreciate each individually for what they mean to us. There is no conflict here.

We may not have found God, or any missing link to him. but because of this discovery, we as mankind have taken a huge step in providing a lot of credibility to the STANDARD MODEL of the UNIVERSE, which in turn is a giant leap in the quest that almost every physicists in the world has undertaken. Finding the THEORY OF EVERYTHING. We are a long way from realising that dream and who knows what will we find on this journey, someday, maybe even God. But i would say this, that even though we didn’t find a proof of existence of GOD, I love physics, So when I come across something beautiful in physics which makes me feel joyful, I perform a silent thanksgiving to God, for having created such an amazing subject.

VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER hosting or digital private hosting enables you to get separate entities for several various customers using one server. So this is certainly one service that permits 13, 000 provider to essentially partition in addition to creates multiple amounts of virtual computers from one server. Shoppers are made to have storage space on sharing time frame including hardware and networking relationship. The best part is always that every single clients might actually appreciate all the advantages that are quite similar to dedicated services including private OS, freedom involving accessibility, file system and security and safety. This means that a particular kind of VPS hosting can be viewed as an interface between dedicated and Virtual hosting.
Along with VPS Hosting you are able to achieve sophisticated performance together with privacy in a reduced cost as compared with dedicated hosting.

VPS is competent to access several administrative tasks which includes server configuration, hosting several websites, installing software and restarting web hardware. Therefore, it is definitely imperative for customers who call for security and availability, tempting them to opt for this sort of VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER hosting companies. If you have been using distributed server and shifting to dedicated services the best choice for you will be to transfer to VPS hosting services. Not to mention the economical clause. There are numerous service providers who lend their assistance for as little as 10$ per month. As document systems and operating-system are maintained separate for every single buyer, users will be able to expect sharing of machine CPU, hard drive output/input and multilevel relationship.

If you are planning to visit for channel reseller hosting provider, you can have overabundance of control of all services while possessing an edge over other resellers found in the industry. For almost all web-developers wanting to establish a system website, VPS hosting is the optimal choice. They are also considered as a perfect choice for each webmaster that are trying to upgrade all their skills with server management, without having actually taking the august task of building a fully specific server. Many webmasters would be able to install customized applications and alter the modules for storage space. They can, simultaneously, enjoy best security over their websites as every VPS web hosting service incorporates its own software therefore reducing a chance of breaching your privacy from cyber-criminals. So when speaking of VPS web hosting service, they are the best for many who will need complete flexibility and control within the budget. So with this type of web hosting service you could actually enjoy internet hosting of the two worlds for your tariff of one.

The Earth’s climate is changing & I am talking about POLAR MELTDOWN. This is nowhere more apparent than at the poles, where many areas are warming at a rate two or three times the global average. Climate scientists have long predicted that the increase in greenhouse gases from human activities would cause the most rapid and dramatic climatic changes in polar regions.

The North pole is melting, and there’s very little Santa can do about it. No matter how green his elves are. It’s worse for the Inuit people, polar bears, walruses, and a host of a less charismatic residents of the far north. Inuit leaders repeatedly deliver warnings about dwindling caribou herds, ground collapsing from beneath villages and ice too thin to hunt on. This disappearing ice is the very reason polar bears are now listed as an endangered species. The South Pole isn’t faring much better. The Antarctic Peninsula is among the fastest warming locations in the world and, according to the European Space Agency, the enormous Wilkins Ice Shelf is in imminent danger of collapse, much like the Larsen ice shelf fragmented a few years back. That’s bad news for global sea levels as well as would-be ice dwellers.

The U.S is shrinking- physically. It has lost nearly 20 meters of beach from its east coast during the 20th century. The oceans have risen by roughly 17 centimeters since 1900 through expansion and the ongoing meltdown of polar ice. That increase is however a very small fraction of what is to come.

ROBERT BINDSCHADLER a glaciologist for NASA says “Plan for 1 meter by the end of this century, the heat of the ocean is killing the ice sheet”. Some of the famous predictions- Florida under 5 meters of sea level rise and a gaping bay, where Bangladesh used to be- may be just centuries away. But we can expect an ice free Arctic and different coastal contours by 2100. 200 million people will live within one meter above the present sea level, including 8 out of 10 of the world’s largest cities and all the megacities of the developing world.

The gravitational pull of ice on surrounding waters is a recently appreciated surprise too. Generally speaking, if Greenland ice melts most of the sea level rise happens in the southern hemisphere, and vice-versa. West Antarctica is the region we believe is most susceptible to destabilization by ongoing global warming. And even if Green house gas emissions decrease, the polar meltdown will be difficult to avoid because ice sheets lag the overall climate and, once melted, have a hard time re-forming.

So folks, it looks like we are on a one way trip to Underwater city. And even though we can try and slow down this process, there is simply no going back now. And who are we kidding, we first need to stop on the current track, before we even think of turning back. As Al Gore so famously said about this issue, “ Our ability to live… is quite at stake.”

Looks like in future, Santa’s reindeers may need water wings. And it wont be a bad idea to let AQUAMAN join the AVENGERS. At the rate at which we are going… He may end up saving the world single handedly.

With a nationwide hunger strike, protests and marches against corruption, and the tussle between the government and the civil society, there is so much to debate in the news these days, one can’t help getting sucked into Internet War that are in the form of comment threads. But psychologists say this addictive form of vitriolic back and forth should be avoided — or simply censored by online media outlets — because it actually damages society and mental health.
These days, online comments “are extraordinarily aggressive, without resolving anything, At the end of it you can’t possibly feel like anybody heard you. Having a strong emotional experience that doesn’t resolve itself in any healthy way can’t be a good thing.”
If it’s so unsatisfying and unhealthy, why do we do it?

A perfect storm of factors come together to engender the rudeness and aggression seen in the comments’ sections of Web pages First, commenters are often virtually anonymous, and thus, unaccountable for their rudeness. Second, they are at a distance from the target of their anger — be it the article they’re commenting on or another comment on that article — and people tend to antagonize distant abstractions more easily than living, breathing interlocutors. Third, it’s easier to be nasty in writing than in speech, hence the now somewhat outmoded practice of leaving angry notes (back when people used paper).

And because comment-section discourses don’t happen in real time, commenters can write lengthy monologues, which tend to entrench them in their extreme viewpoint. When you’re having a conversation in person, who actually gets to deliver a monologue except people in the movies? Only people like OPTIMUS PRIME and Alfred in THE BATMAN gets to make such monologues. Even if you get angry, people are talking back and forth and so eventually you have to calm down and listen so you can have a conversation.
Chiming in on comment threads may even give one a feeling of accomplishment, albeit a false one. There is so much going on in our lives that it is hard to find time to get out and physically help a cause, which makes ‘armchair activism’ an enticing proposition. Unfortunately, mainstream media have made a fortune teaching people the wrong ways to talk to each other. People understandably conclude rage is the political vernacular, that this is how public ideas are talked about , isn’t it?.

Communication, is really about taking someone else’s perspective, understanding it, and responding. Tone of voice and gesture can have a large influence on your ability to understand what someone is saying. The further away from face-to-face, real-time dialogue you get, the harder it is to communicate.

Media outlets should cut down on the anger and hatred that have become the norm in reader exchanges. “It’s valuable to allow all sides of an argument to be heard. But it’s not valuable for there to be personal attacks, or to have messages with an extremely angry tone. Even someone who is making a legitimate point but with an angry tone is hurting the nature of the argument, because they are promoting people to respond in kind. If on a website comments are left up that are making personal attacks in the nastiest way, you’re sending the message that this is acceptable human behavior.

So folks, as enraging you may find some people’s ideas and thoughts, please try not to engage in a aggressive Internet wars of comments, it will never do any good.

Instead use the tools of subtlety and sarcasm, they’ll never miss to win you Internet War, without declaring it a war.

In the beginning there was light, RUNNING LIGHTS, the brilliant light of the big bang shining through a sea of protons, neutrons and electrons. But as the universe expanded and cooled, the electrons joined the protons, making neutral hydrogen atoms, and as the universe cooled further, the light went dark. Eventually, however, something tore the electrons from the protons, thereby re-ionizing the universe. Space has remained ionized—a plasma of positive ions and electrons—ever since. Now an upcoming paper proposes the surprising cause: runaway stars flung from their galactic birthplaces.
“Re-ionization was one of the major cataclysmic events in the history of the universe,” says Charlie Conroy, an astronomer at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Yet because re-ionization occurred so long ago, even the greatest telescopes struggle to probe this distant epoch. Observations of the farthest quasars as well as the big bang’s afterglow indicate that re-ionization took place sometime between a redshift of 6 and 12, a measure of astronomical distance that corresponds to the time when the universe was only 380 million to 960 million years old. But exactly what caused this great transformation is a mystery.
The culprit must have been something hot, because only hot objects emit extreme ultraviolet light, whose wavelength is less than 912 angstroms, or 91.2 nanometers (a nanometer is a billionth of a meter), and whose photons are so energetic they rip electrons from protons. Quasars once seemed a logical bet, because they are hot and bright and existed long ago. But astronomers have failed to find enough quasars at great distances to do the job.
So the focus has turned instead to hot stars. Trouble is, these stars presumably lived in galaxies filled with neutral hydrogen gas—which absorbs extreme ultraviolet light.
“Of all the ionizing photons that hot stars are producing in today’s galaxies, only about a percent of the photons actually leave the galaxy,” Conroy says. “Those ionizing photons are being wasted in the galaxy.”
Now, in work to appear in the August 20 issue of The Astrophysical Journal, Conroy and Kaitlin Kratter of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics propose a resolution to this dilemma. They say that hot stellar runaways—stars shot out of their nurseries—may have reionized the early universe.
Stars born with the most mass—more than 16 times that of the sun—are so hot that astronomers classify them as spectral type O. These O-type stars glow blue and emit most of their radiation at ultraviolet wavelengths, then explode just a few million years after birth. In our own galaxy, the Milky Way, about 30 percent of them arerunaway stars. One famous example, visible to the naked eye, is the star Mu Columbae, which is fleeing its birthplace in the constellation Orion and now resides in another constellation altogether.
A runaway star can make its escape when one star orbiting another explodes, freeing its partner at high speed. Runaways also emerge from star clusters, where gravitational encounters among stars fling some of the members away.
Our galaxy is so huge, with a disk more than 100,000 light-years across, that runaway O-type stars don’t escape it during their short lives. In the early universe, however, galaxies were much smaller. During the epoch of re-ionization, they may have been just a few hundred light-years across. “If a star is traveling at a high velocity, it can actually leave the parent galaxy,” Kratter says. Then the star’s extreme ultraviolet light shines into the space beyond the galaxy. As a result, Conroy says, “These stars could be a very important player in the re-ionization of the universe.” “It seems like a viable hypothesis that these runaway stars can contribute significantly to the ionizing radiation,” says Brian Siana of the University of California, Riverside. “But the question is: Are they the dominant factor?” Siana says supernova explosions may have punched holes in the gas of the first galaxies, producing a Swiss cheese–like structure that allowed extreme ultraviolet radiation from hot stars to seep out of the galaxies, obviating the need for runaways.
Conroy and Kratter suggest a way to test their idea. Astronomers can’t see individual stars at the great distances corresponding to the epoch of re-ionization. But if hot stars escaped the first galaxies, the galaxies themselves should look larger at wavelengths where they emitted ultraviolet light than at longer wavelengths, because the hot, ultraviolet-bright runaway stars had fled their homes. Seeing such distant galaxies is too tough a task even for the Hubble Space Telescope, but Conroy and Kratter say that 30-meter ground-based telescopes planned for the future should find them, shedding new light on the universe’s ancient metamorphosis.

We are called the India the largest democracy of the world. This is a misnomer. We are the largest – I agree. But is India a democratic country?

Citizens are the owners in a true democracy. The citizens have given the right to parliament and the government to take decisions on their behalf, for their welfare. In our country the government, the parliament and the legislative assemblies have blatantly misused this right. The representatives who are selected by the citizens must be answerable to the citizens for all their acts of omission and commission. The government servants who are paid salaries through the taxes that the government collects from citizens should serve citizens and must be accountable to them. The decisions on what to do and what not to do should be taken by the people. Political parties, political leaders and government agencies should only implement them. What we need is change in the way we operated for last sixty three years. What we need is SWARAJ.

It has been a week since the 75 year old went on a fast. The government, which we selected for the welfare of the country and its people, is neglecting the issue.Clearly, they don’t care. The basic element that defines a democracy is lost.

The government is filled with corrupt ministers and politicians.Lok Sabha has 162 and Rajya Sabha has 39 MPs, on whom criminal cases are pending.Obviously, our selfcenterd government is trying to chalk out a plan to save their asses. Its not only the MPs who have charges of corruption against them. There are 15 cabinet ministers with charges of corruption against them with proper evidences, according to the IAC( India Against Corruption), including our Prime minister as well the newly sworned President.

But, all said and done, my curosity lies in – How government is trying to handle the situation, after they have no way out left? Are they trying to hang in there so that these old folks die of hunger and the protest against government just fades away. I don’t think our ministers are that stupid when it comes to their political career. The politicians will fight till the very end if their reputation are at stake, even being known to the fact that the public is very much aware of their misdeeds. The consequences, if Anna Hazare or Arvind Kejrewal die of hunger before the demands of a stronger and effective lokpal are met, would be catastrophic. Well, catastrophic would be an understatement.

I read newspapers stating that -Team Anna has lost its focus, due to less coverage by the media. I couldn’t do anything but laugh at their stupidity. If this is what the government came up with to dismantle the unity of Team Anna, then Rahul Gandhi’s statement for requesting more intelligent and educated people to join politics seems legit. The protest doesn’t need publicity. Half of the country is already engulfed in this wave of tussle against corruption. IAC supporters have been carrying out protests in Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Tirupathi, Patna, Ahmedabad and ofcourse at Delhi. It would be an understatement to call it a protest now, its WAR.No government will sign on their own death certificate, neither the ruling nor the opposition. The government has chosen to go tough way on Team Anna, but there is no backing down for them.

But, We cannot afford to loose Shri Anna Hazare, right now. We lost Mahatma Gandhi at the wrong time, and so was the case with Jai Prakash Narayan.

The government is hell bent on saving their ass, and Anna is deterimined.

Anna Hazare to end his fast at 5pm on 3 August .Terminating their fast should not be considerd as a backdown in the battle of attrition but as a shrewd measure to ensure that in 2014 neither the Congress nor BJP or anyother corrupt political party come into power. Telltale suggests that Anna might form a political party, but he himslef will not be a part of it.

If, at all, the government hinders the idea of a political alternative,I suggest, there not to be elections in 2014, no one votes until a new political party is formed consisting of members recomended by Team Anna. The central government should only be a group of people who would be in direct contact with the public. Why do we need MPs and MLAs, when they are of no use.

But,if we give an alternative then we need to have a proper selection process. How do we select good people? We, the public, will find such people. We will also need to decentralize. We will have to think about farmers, laborers, etc. We will have to provide a truly secular alternative.

Let the dictatorship of the people prevail.
