There are rare examples of its use as early as the 14th century, but it became common by the 16th century.

In many places, autumn is a time for harvesting most crops. Deciduous trees (trees that lose their leaves every year) lose their leaves, usually after turning yellow, red, or brown. Also, in many countries, autumn is the time a new school year starts. In the UK, the period of school between the start of September and the end of December is known as the 'Autumn Term'.

When it is autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, it is spring in the Southern Hemisphere. When it is autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere. On the Equator, Autumn is very much like Spring, with little difference in temperature or in weather. Autumn is a time when most animals are looking for food so they can store up for winter, because they soon will be going into hibernation. The weather gets colder and more windy.

The various Climatic Changes that occur in cyclic pattern are termed as 'Seasons'. There are four general seasons occuring on Earth - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Autumn Leaf :

Autumn leaf color is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the autumn season, one or many colors that range from red to yellow. The phenomenon is commonly called fall colors and autumn colors, while the expression fall foliage usually connotes the viewing of a tree or forest whose leaves have undergone the change. In some areas in the United States, and in much of Canada "leaf peeping" tourism between the beginning of color changes and the onset of leaf fall, or scheduled in hope of coinciding with that period, is a major contribution to economic activity.

Function of Autumn Colors :

Deciduous plants are believed to shed their leaves in autumn primarily because the high costs involved in their maintenance would outweigh the benefits from photosynthesis during the winter period of low light availability and cold temperatures. However, there is no reason why leaf fall should necessarily be preceded by the production of vivid autumn colors, and the function of the color change is still uncertain. Autumn colors (especially red) are not just due to the breakdown of chlorophyll; in fact anthocyanins (red-purple) are actively produced in autumn.

What use is the production of pigments in leaves that are about to fall? A number of hypotheses have been proposed, including photo protection, coevolution and allelopathy.

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" In Wordsworth’s Tables Turned stated, in other words, that the human can archive goodness by becoming one with nature. The poem heavily stated that the human should throw down the books, stop “wasting” your life on learning and becoming knowledgeable and book smart when all you have to do is go outside and enjoy nature. This would help you achieve all that is needed in life. Wordsworth thought that nature had a huge impact on the human’s imagination. He felt that nature was humanity’s teacher. Wordsworth had the view that people are at their best when they are closest to nature. Being close creates harmony and order.

In schools, education is based on what grades people get. While striving for that most people forget about the thing that brought them into the world, Mother Nature brought everything in the world where it is today. William Wordsworth went further in this description when he wrote The Tables Turned. In the poem The Tables Turned, the poem presents the opposing point of view of Wordsworth and his friend. While Wordsworth feels that nature leads all, his friend does not agree and thinks studying is more important. Wordsworths ideas have a great meaning to me. His ideas of nature being better than knowledge are very similar to that of my own beliefs in that studying from books may lead to failure, Nature has much to offer anyone and that Natures rules have a more important meaning than that of Science and Art.

About the Author

William Wordsworth was known as the poet of nature. He devoted his life to poetry and used his feeling for nature to express himself and how he evolved. Wordsworth had two simple ideas that he put into his writing of poetry. One was that “poetry was the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.” The second idea was that poets should describe simple scenes of nature in the everyday words, which in turn would create an atmosphere through the use of imagination. Wordsworth is deeply involved with the complexities of nature and human reaction to it. To Wordsworth nature is the revelation of god through viewing everything that is harmonious or beautiful in nature. Wordsworth had the view that people are at their best when they are closest to nature. Being close creates harmony and order.

With such people as William Wordsworth, William Blake and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe fueled romanticism with their writings and poems. William Wordsworth, for example, wrote many poems about nature and his beliefs on how life and nature are closely related to one another.

Posted by
Syed Abrar (alies) Arif

Posted by
Syed Abrar (alies) Arif
