Samsung to launch pop-up stores in London to showcase Galaxy S III

South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has announced that it would launch quite a lot of pop-up stores across London to allow consumers to try out its latest flagship handset- the Galaxy S III. Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and Old Spitalfields Market will be the first to get Samsung’s pop-up stores, called Samsung Mobile PINs, on 29th of May- the date announced for the European debut of the third-generation Galaxy S. Two more Samsung Mobile PINs will be launched in Hyde Park and in the Olympic Park over the summer. read more

Lower gasoline prices to encourage travel during Memorial Day weekend

Lower gasoline prices are widely expected to encourage more motorists to hit the road for long trips or short outings this Memorial Day weekend. Gasoline prices have been creeping gradually downward after peaking at around $4 per gallon during the final days of March and early days of April. According to GasBuddy’s senior petroleum analyst Gregg Laskoski, motorists in Pennsylvania enjoyed a decline of 5.2 cents per gallon of gasoline over the past week; while national average slipped by 2.8 cents per gallon in the same week. read more

Pacific Symphony says it was thrilled to record score to ‘Diablo III’

Pacific Symphony orchestra said it was “thrilled” to collaborate with video games giant Blizzard Entertainment. More than one hundred classically trained musicians from the renowned orchestra recorded soundtrack for Blizzard’s recently released role-playing game Diablo III at the Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in July last year. Pacific Symphony President John Forsyte said video games are one of the most remarkable sources of new symphonic scoring. read more

BlackBerry continues to lose market share to rivals

Waterloo, Canada-based RIM’s struggling BlackBerry platform continues to lose market share to its biggest rivals- Adorid and iOS. As per figures compiled by research firm IDC, BlackBerry’s share in the global smartphone market slipped form 13.6 per cent in the first quarter of 2011 to merely 6.4 per cent in the first quarter of this year. read more

Fiat has claimed that its non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mazda demonstrates its commitment to Alfa Romeo and the willpower to develop Alfa Romeo into a real global brand. Jonathan Ive, senior vice-president of industrial design at Apple, has been knighted for his services to design and enterprise. The 45-year-old British designer, who is now based in the United States, was honoured yesterday by the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace. Ive was made a KBE (Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours list for services to design & enterprise.
