The Seattle-based skipper of the Cornelia Marie from the widely viewed Deadly Catch series on Discovery woke up from a medically induced coma on Tuesday he was placed in to reduce brain swelling after undergoing 12 hours of surgery Sunday night.

Harris was flown to an Anchorage hospital on Friday after suffering a stroke while unloading his crab fishing vessel last week at a port on St. Paul Island, Alaska. He eventually was brought out of the coma and had been making steady progress toward recovery until the sudden turn. Although his family & loyal fans were clinging to small signs of a recovery, he ultimately succumbed to the trauma a few hours ago.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad," Harris’ sons, Jake and Josh, said in a statement. "Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”

“Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him. We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart. We share our tremendous sadness over this loss with the millions of viewers who followed Phil’s every move.”

Not exactly the results we were waiting for.

Also until Murtha’s funeral has suspended all media activity.

John Patrick “Jack” Murtha Jr. was 77 years old leaving behind quite a legacy where he was respected by both the opposition as well as his own party members.

Prince Harry will be the first Royal to actively take part in the British Record Industry Trust (BRIT) Awards with a video as part of the ceremony to be held next Tuesday, Feb. 16th at the Earls Court Arena in London at 8PM.

The British blond prince will make a special appearance along with his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, to mark the 30th anniversary of the awards as part of a PR campaign to involve the Royals in popular culture.

The 25 year old royal celebrity said "The BRITS is a celebration of all that is totally outstanding and unique about British music.  But what’s less well known about the BRITS is the fantastic work it does raising millions of pounds for The BRIT Trust."

According to UK’s The Sun, this will be the first time the program has featured a Royal salute in the 30 year history of the show.

The Brit Awards, or the Brits, are the British Phonographic Industry’s pop music awards. According to the award show’s Web site, a congratulatory message from Prince Harry will be aired during this year’s broadcast, acknowledging the milestone birthday.

The show will include performances by Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole, Lilly Allen, Florence and the Machine, Kasabian, JLS, and Dizzee Rascal.  
Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Pixie Lott are among the 2010 nominees.

After appearing together at Monday’s arraignment for Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s family issued a series of statements decrying the doctor’s not-guilty plea to the charge of involuntary manslaughter.

“He’s lying. He’s guilty. Nobody was there but him,” Jackson’s mother, Katherine, told the assembled media while leaving court. “He’s just trying to save his own behind. … He killed him. He wasn’t monitoring him.”

Murray, who faces up to four years in prison if convicted, didn’t make a statement following his court appearance & neither did he interact with the Jackson family members, according to reports. The Houston-based doctor is expected to leave Los Angeles after posting $75,000 bail.

Murray, who was acting as Jackson’s personal physician for a comeback concert series in London, admitted prescribing the sedatives to Jackson but denied any wrongdoing on his part.

“The standard of care for administering Propofol was not met…Recommended equipment for patient monitoring, precision dosing and resuscitation was not present,” the autopsy report states, referring to the anesthetic that ultimately killed the King of Pop.

The autopsy results back up the findings of AEG-approved doctors, who gave Jackson passing marks during a physical earlier this year, but the coroner’s report doesn’t bode well for Dr. Conrad Murray.

Although no charges have been filed, Jackson’s personal physician remains under investigation for criminal manslaughter for dosing Jackson with the powerful anesthetic propofol as a sleep aid, despite such sedatives only being approved for use in a hospital setting.

According to the report, after an examination of the body and thorough toxicology tests, the L.A. medical examiner found that the primary drugs that killed Jackson were the highly publicized sedative along with lorazepam, which is a benzodiazepine, a class of drugs similar to tranquilizers.

Other medications detected included midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine and ephedrine.

Since  Propofol is traditionally used intravenously in hospitals and is considered unsafe outside operating rooms since it requires monitoring by an anesthesiologist, police are eyeing manslaughter charges against the singer’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, for administering the drug to Jackson.

A search warrant affidavit unsealed earlier this week in Houston, cited a toxicology analysis that Jackson had “lethal levels” of propofol in his system.

The document also indicated that Murray told detectives he treated the singer for chronic insomnia by giving him 50 milligrams of propofol through an IV every night for six weeks, though he tried to reduce that amount, believing Jackson had an addiction.

The morning the Moonwalker died, the doctor acknowledged that he had already given Jackson a cocktail of milder sedatives. When those failed to knock him out, Murray opted at 10:40 a.m. to give him 25 milligrams of propofol, which induced sleep right away.

Per the affidavit, the cardiologist said he left Jackson in his bedroom alone and under the influence for two minutes while he tended to other business.

But authorities have noted big holes in Murray’s story, pointing to three separate cell phone calls the doc made afterward from 11:18 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. that lasted 47 minutes, information Murray didn’t tell investigators.

That key discrepancy means Murray may have been out of the room much longer than he admitted and could prompt the filing of criminal charges against him.

“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character think like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I’m asking quite a lot of myself and with lots of different people as well,” he said.

This movie is based on Guy de Maupassant’s 19th Century novel Bel Ami, and it stars Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas as supporting actresses, and Pattinson has a few steamy scenes with them also.

Indeed, the Heisman Trophy winning Tim Tebow, who features in the American College Football for Florida Gaptors, and has been counted among the most promising Quarter Back prospects in the United States of America, has recently been in the news, over an advertisement featuring him and his mother.

The said commercial, featuring Tebow and his mother was aired during the Super Bowl XLIV matchup in Miami, between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts, and spawned massive consternation among some Women’s groups, for its alleged ‘anti –abortion’ insinuation.

And what’s ironical about the trend of events off –late, is that even as the whole world has got talking about this supposedly controversial advertisement, hardly a handful would have actually watched the ad in question.

The said commercial sponsored by ‘Focus on Family’, which has sparked furor among a host of self -styled ‘Pro Life’ advocates and numerous religiously inclined groups, features Tebow and his mom, explaining as to how the precociously talented rugby player wouldn’t have been born, if she had an abortion.

However, even as the Pro Life Advocates are reportedly filing petitions in a bid to pull the ad off air, other groups like Americans United for Life Action, are rallying behind Tebow and pitching for the right of free speech, and the initiative has already spawned a staggering member count of 38,500 and counting.

And just to give a further sense of how the group has been trying to solicit popular support for Tebow, it has posted a message saying;

“AUL Action encourages you to make a short video about your own personal experience to share here on the Support Tebow’s Super Bowl Ad page. Just make your short video and upload it to this page. There’s a chance your video could be featured on the AUL Action blog and website.”

So even as CBS mulls on whether to run the ad during the next Super Bowl matchup, what’s fairly clear to see is that ‘poor’ Tim Tebow has been unfairly targeted by the so -called ‘Pro Life’ evangelical hawks.

According to the CNN report the release of Dear John on 5th January 2010, Avatar has been replaced by the movie Dear John which has fetched an estimated $32.4 million. As a matter of fact, the film stands at the #1 place shifting Avatar to 2nd place for the first time in 7weeks with $23.6 million.

With the advent of the most romantic season of the year i.e. the Valentine’s Day is on the cards…. It’s an obvious choice for the masses to go on with more emotions and drama rather than action and adventure.

MSNBC and Billboard report that Howard Stern has shown interest to judge the next season of “American Idol” after the current judge Simon Cowell leaves. It seems he knows his worth and knows well that probably he would be the best choice as the new judge.

It is reported that Stern has announced that he is ready to judge the show if he is paid $100 million. He says that the value is worth for a person like him and for a show like “American Idol”.

Stern also says that only he can replace Simon and no one else can make the show a hit. He further adds that there is no one who knows how to broadcast a show. Even that only he knows how to evoke interest in audience.

Stern’s current five-year, $500 million contract con with the satellite radio channel Sirius is about to expire and it is obvious that he wants to make at least the same amount of money, if not more, from his new job.

Will Fox pay Stern $100 million? We bet they will…because like everyone else and Stern himself, even the “American Idol” producers know that Stern is the best choice!

When the Hollywood beauty requested to retain her juror badge she was allowed to do so.

However, just when things began to be peachy gloom descended upon the star-gazing security guard who posed for a photo with the actress at the courthouse for snapping a shot of Stewart, according to E! Online.

Stewart goodheartedly decided to click a photo with the guard but trouble ensued when the photo became public. The photo was then posted online by the guard’s friend’s wife before it was quickly picked up by various media outlets and made public. Now it seems that the people involved may have violated some rules and may stand to lose their jobs for taking a picture with the actress.

“Cancelled because unfortunately the photo that went up from Kristen in court was stolen and put on several blogs and got to the media and reached the ears of the court,” the wife wrote online. “Right now my husband and the security guard are in trouble for it having gone up and second because it is confidential when celebrities are in court. Now I feel bad. … I am really scared, because I think it is possible that they could lose their jobs.”

We are yet to receive a comment from the actress’ side.

But, let me clear that this was all a silly mistake. Actually she is new to Tweeter and she wanted her fans to visit a website which was a bout her husband Tony Parker, a famous basketball player, and mistakenly she pasted the link to a porn site instead of the desired site.

Nonetheless, she got the air of her mistake, and she readily apologized on the next Tweeter post, which read, “Oh noooo! I put the wrong Twitter site for my husband! The one I put earlier goes to some porn site!!!! Don’t use it!”

Now, the entertainment websites are ridiculing her for this mistake, because she has said before that she is very much in love with her husband, and they are like best friend.

‘We are just best friends. I love his company and I am married to the person I want to be with. I cannot ask for more. We respect each other as people and as a couple, and we trust each other. The best thing is that he loves to surprise me and I love to be surprised.’ They are quoting her as saying.

But the thing is, they are forgetting that she is on Tweeter for the last 7 days only, and anyone could have done that mistake. Moreover, she apologized for it. Sometimes, these websites just feel enjoyment in ridiculing others.

BBC reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have decided to sue a newspaper for publishing false reports about their alleged breakup and division of assets and custody of the kids. The newspaper in news is the “News Of The World”  which has printed some fallacious news about their relationship on 24th January 2010.

According to the newspaper, Brangelina are on the verge of separation and has already met the lawyers in December 2009 to seek advice on the assets sharing out of £205 million and also for the custody of their six children.

Brangelina’s lawyer Keith Schilling has confirmed that the reports are all false and hold no truth in them. He also adds that the couple has asked for an apology in terms of reasonable financial demands which the newspaper has failed to meet. The couple has blamed the tabloid for spreading false news which has been taken up by several other media till now.

There is no comment from the spokespersons for “News Of The World” yet.

It seems “News Of The World” is in grave trouble for publishing false “News Of Brangelina”! Good luck, guys!

Ace Showbiz and Now Public report that two more stills from the film Eclipse have been published on twitpic.

Both the stills feature the same outfits and the same background that was there in the first still published by the People magazine in October 2009. If the first pic showed Robert and Kristen sitting in a garden looking deep into each other’s eyes, the second and third pics show the couple as they lean on the grass gradually getting more romantic and cozy. The third pic is in fact a hot one!

And as per a report, carried by Celebrity and Entertainment website TMZ, it would appear that the Medical Board has now come out with a damning indictment of the ‘rogue’ medical professional, who was assigned as the personal physician to the deceased Pop legend, in the lead up to his planned series of gigs in London.

On the evidence of the said TMZ report, it is learned that in a hard hitting indictment, the Medical Board, which issued him the license to practice his trade in California, has reportedly labeled him as a ‘danger to the public.’

It further appears, that while not making any direct reference to Murray’s complicity in the MJ death case, which is currently sub –judice, the Medical Board of California has reportedly mentioned in its document filed with the court, that it believes that the doctor showed ‘utter disregard for the care and well-being of the persons entrusted to his care.’

And it is further known from the TMZ report, that the Medical Board reportedly wants the judge to take the necessary steps against Murray, as the cancellation of a medical license can be a long drawn process.

Murray, it ought to be mentioned here, has been charged on twin counts of ‘involuntary manslaughter’ and ‘felony’, and was found guilty of prescribing potentially dangerous anesthetics to Michael.

And quite in keeping with the Medical Board’s recommendation, it would appear that the L.A County Court Judge has already warned Murray not to administer anesthetics, including the dangerous Propofol.

Even as the court decides on the merits of the charges against Conrad Murray, what’s for certain is that his future as a medico has been seriously compromised.

And as per the latest reports, it would appear that we know now why the hunky American tennis pro, would have gotten all head –over –heels, over this luscious, blonde belle.

Indeed, on the evidence of the latest, it appears that Andy’s wife, who is a professional model, has reportedly featured on the cover of popular magazine ‘Sports Illustrated’s’ special ‘Swimsuit’ edition this year.

It is further known that the 22 year old ramp –blazer, is reportedly delighted at being picked as the ‘cover face’ for the Swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated, and was quoted as gushing that it is ‘the news of a lifetime.’

The lady further opined that the said cover photograph, which features the sensuous Brook, striking a racy pose in a semi -clad yellow bikini, is a far cry from the more daring pics that SI had gone for in the last few years, and that the current Swimsuit cover was more akin to the sober covers of the 80’s and 90’s, featuring Elle Macpherson.

And as for her doting hubby, it is known that Andy is reportedly relieved that Brook wouldn’t be as anxious next Feb when the next SI Swimsuit edition is due out.

Again, it ought to be mentioned here that Sports Illustrated, always keeps the face of its Swimsuit edition under wraps, till less than 24 hours before it is due to hit the stands.

The lady was further quoted as saying, “I still don’t know the formula for the cover. It’s luck, the perfect suit and perfect storm to get it.”

Guess the lady needs no ‘formula’ coz she’s really got the goods!

An insider revealed that producers of the hit Fox show said Stern, America’s highest-paid radio personality, is their favorite choice to take over from Simon Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season. They approached the King of All Media after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he was open to other offers.

Cowell was paid $50 million a year. A source connected to Idol said, "It’s one of the few shows that could compete with Stern’s $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and Idol bosses think he’d be even nastier than Simon.”

Although radio’s shock-jock was playing hard-to-get with AI he was quoted as saying he would be more than happy to replace the acid-tongued Cowell as a judge on the show provided they paid him $100million."They’d have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough. Yeah I would do that show for $100 million."

Although shock-jock Stern is great as a radio jockey he is not appropriate as a judge on America’s No. 1 rated show due his limited knowledge of contemporary music (a point he proves every time a singer is invited to his show). Having Ellen DeGeneres on the judging panel from the ninth season of AI is still ok but having two non-musical entertainers on the judging panel would be detrimental to the credibility of the show. Given Stern’s penchant for controversial remarks & statements he might offend the sensibilities of many in American Idol.

Let’s hope all the rumors is just a way to get Sirius, the uncensored radio station, reconsidering his paycheck & renew Stern’s contract which expires next January!

In a sensation story published on January 24, the newspaper alleged that the gorgeous Brad Pitt & the sensuous Angelina Jolie were on the verge of a £205 million separation & were meeting top LA lawyers for the division of their assets and for the custody of their children.

“The couple signed the document in early January. They agreed to share their money and assets and custody of their six children, all of whom would live with Angelina in the event of their parents’ breakup.”

The celebrated couple’s lawyer, Keith Schilling accused the "widely republished" allegations "false and intrusive" besides adding that the newspaper in question did not meet “reasonable demands” adequate for a proper apology.

Pitt & Jolie had reportedly demanded for the retraction of the allegations, which had subsequently been "widely republished by mainstream news outlets".

A statement from Schillings Lawyers also noted that Sorrell Trope, labeled by certain publications as a divorce lawyer advising Pitt and Jolie on legal matters, had never even met the couple.

"I have had no contact from… Angelina Jolie and / or Brad Pitt," said Trope in a letter quoted in the statement."I have never met… your clients or had any involvement with either of them. The foregoing is true with respect to all other members of this firm."

A spokesperson for the News Of the World was unable to comment at the time of writing.Pitt and Jolie, who are not married, have six children.

All India Radio and Times of India report that My Name Is Khan is free to release worldwide on 12th February 2010 including Mumbai where the Shiv Sena had threatened a ban earlier. It is reported that tight security will be provided for all the theatre premises to avoid any kind of violence from the Shiv Sena.

The director of the film, Karan Johar met Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan on Tuesday 9th February 2010 and Sivanandan assured that My Name Is Khan would not face any disruption at the theatres. Karan had gone along with a group of exhibitors and distributors to ask for security measures.

Karan seemed to be very satisfied after the meeting and confirmed that Mumbai Police would provide personal assurance for security. He was clearly very happy and said there was nothing to worry about any more.

LA Public Relations reports that with his entry in twitter world, Craig Ferguson has already stirred up the media. Reason? Use of expletive words! It is hardly a day as he has signed up for an account that his use of abusive language in tweets has made him news.

It is reported that Ferguson seemed to have been addicted to the micro-blogging site and couldn’t control his excitement. It was clear from his use of the F-word so often.

He also tweeted about his views on Super Bowl, about his dogs, his addiction for Mythbusters and many more. His 7th tweet was a question asking whether he can use the F-word on twitter and within a few minutes he tweeted again, of course using the word this time!

As per the latest reports, it would appear that the ‘bitter’ couple, who have been staying apart in accordance with a temporary restraining order, is set to patch up soon.

On the evidence of a report, carried by E! Online, it is learned that the ‘fell out’ partners are reportedly planning to move back to their Los Angeles residence.

Hinting at an imminent rapprochement between the ‘bitter’ partners, Brooke’s attorney Yale Galanter was quoted as saying to E! News, “Brooke’s desire was to get the order modified so they could have contact and communicate because of their children. Judge Boyd was gracious enough to grant that and now Charlie and Brooke are on their way back to L.A. to continue their lives.”

Just to lay a brief sense of events which led to their temporary estrangement, Charlie was arrested on Christmas Day last year, for an attempted knife assault on his wife, and had to spend the festive night behind bars, before being released on bail.

The couple was told to lay off each other, in the subsequent legal proceedings, till the court takes a final call on their marital harvest.

Galanter was further quoted as saying to E! News, “We need to give them a chance to be alone and catch up on everything that has happened over the last couple of months. We’ll see what happens.”

Galanter further let out that Charlie and Brooke are set to hit up Colorado next month, in a bid to sort out their differences, in privacy.

The couple’s return date to the Aspen court has been scheduled for March 15.

We can only hope that the couple can smoothen out their differences by then!

The 36 year US Congress veteran, who was a vocal critic of the presence of the American troops in Iraq, was hospitalized on 31st of January, at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA, in the light of complications arising out of a recent gall bladder surgery.

And as per the latest reports, it would appear that the venerable politico could have suffered a damaged intestine during the gall bladder surgery.

On the evidence of a report, carried by The Washington Post, a Pennsylvania Congressman, who has been a long time friend of Murtha, has reportedly said that the veteran suffered a fatal damage to his large intestine, during the gall bladder surgery.

Again it ought to be mentioned in this context that, Murtha was admitted at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md, for what was a fairly routine gall bladder surgery.

However, his fellow House of Representatives member Bob Brady has now revealed that Murtha suffered an intestinal infection following the surgery and had high fever when he was admitted to the Virginia medical facility.

It is further known that a deeply aggrieved Brady sought to recall his long time association with John Murtha and referred to the latter as his ‘buddy’.

Even as the demise of Murtha, would inevitably have left a void in the American political space, the same might potentially bode adverse political implications for the Democrats, as the Republicans will now train their sights on the vacated Pennsylvania seat, which has been described as ‘marginal’ for the Dems, by Washington based political analyst Amy Walters.
