I’ll just start right out and apologize for any swearing that takes place during this “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast and just blame Mama Gotz. Yup, from what Stu tells me, she might be partly responsible for a red-light that one of the Little Gotz’s got, and oddly enough, even though we talk about the latest Playboy with a naked (sort of) Marge Simpson, most of that conversation is clean.

Since it was Halloween weekend, though, there is some talk of the good times Stu had with the Little Gotz’s and lack of trick-or-treaters, I tell Stu of my tales of fright, and no, I’m not talking about the fact that my BFF and I went to see “Michael Jackson's This Is It,” the Michael Jackson documentary/movie/it’s too damn bad he died because that would have been one hell of a concert story.

Stu, meanwhile, got wrapped up in some home improvement, some lack of internet access, an “Army of Darkness” B-Movie recommendation thanks to the acting of Bruce Campbell, and not caring about “A Christmas Carol,” while I’m looking forward to “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” can’t make up my mind about the Chicago Bears, and might need a Facebook intervention thanks to Bejeweled Blitz.

All of that and more, and hopefully a new podcast next week, that is if I can finally beat The W.G.N., and my Sis, in Bejeweled Blitz, unless, of course, my BFF breaks my wrist first.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Paranormal Activity, Hair Cuts, To H1N1 or Not to H1N1, and The Bears Still Suck.

I wasn’t cold, nor frightened while watching “Paranormal Activity,” so I tell Stu Gotz all about it during our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast, while Stu tells me he got a haircut, but I couldn’t tell. The haircut thing really had Stu in a tizzy over the weekend, mostly because he was too late to see Pat at Pat's barbershop so he and the Gotz boys ended up in a salon, but I still think he got ripped off.

We both saw a lot of movies, mostly thanks to cable and DVD’s, so I tell Stu if “Milk” was any good while Stu didn’t like “I Love You, Man,” even though I sort of did, nor did he care for “Imagine That,” and he lets you know if you should let your kids see “Caroline” or not.

Yes, we also talk about the Chicago Bears although we might not talk about them much more as the only good thing about the game for me was seeing my future in-laws, and we both wonder about the H1N1 virus, a.k.a. Swine Flu scare, and how Stu thinks the vaccine people need to take a lesson from Scotty in Star Trek when coming up with their vaccine production predictions.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Staying in Bed, Management, Toy Stories, Not Being Prepared, and Balloon Boy!

I wanted to crawl back into bed this morning, and during our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast, Stu explains that he wanted to do the same, but for a very different reason. Me, I was in full klutz mode for a couple of days, destroying a vase with flowers that I couldn’t remember properly why I got them, then dumping a couple of quarts of iced tea on the dog, and also nearly taking a header in the shower, while Stu, well, Stu has a cold. But neither stopped us from having super-exciting weekends as I wept with joy at the taste of “Count Chocula” while wallowed in tears thanks to the loss by the Chicago Bears, and Stu wondered about the “Being Prepared” moniker of the Boy/Cub Scouts. At least we both had some movie viewing, with me snuggling with my BFF to “Management” while Stu and the Gotz Family enjoyed the 3-D versions of “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2.”

The weekend also brought some resolution to the story of “Balloon Boy,” and his dad, a story that also had Stu investigating the song styling’s of The 5th Dimension which somehow led to Monty Python. Oh well, at least we didn’t have Olympic talk this week. Oh, wait, we did, thanks to drug gangs in Rio de Janeiro. How do we talk about so much stuff, including reminiscing about “The 5th Element,” in so little time? Listen and find out!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Peace Prize, Couples Retreat, Where's My Sidekick Stuff, and Stupid People!

Now that I think about our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, Stu didn't really tell me much about his weekend, but I did let him know that if he wanted to take Mama Gotz to see "Couples Retreat," well, it might not be a bad thing. Thinking about it further, I guess neither of us talked about the weekend that much because it really wasn't that exciting, so we did talk a little politics (President Obama's winning of the Nobel Peace Prize, and my theory of why he won), we talk a little health (should you, or should you not get the flu shot, or better yet, the H1N1, aka "Swine" flu shot?), surviving without your Internet (Stu cannot), Sidekick woes (and Comcast cable TV woes and AT&T U-Verse wishes), Alyssa Milano naked (even if the movie sucks), and what better way to end a podcast than with talk of stupid people (who seem to live at Starbucks, Target, and Wal-Mart).

And, oh yea, it might filter into next weekend, but neither of us seem to give a damn about the "Where The Wild Things Are" movie that is coming out next weekend, even though I might go see it anyway.

Weird weekend talk, but then again, without a Chicago Bears game, I was a little lost. Happy listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Chicago Sucks, A Movie Weekend, and Wiping Your Ass.

Our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast starts on a sad note as Stu Gotz and I lament about Chicago’s not being chosen to host the 2016 Olympics. We break down why Chicago lost, what was wrong with the news broadcasts, what was wrong with the celebration preparations, and even Mama Gotz tells Stu her theory for the snub. But we quickly get over our sadness as I saw a plethora of movies over the weekend, namely “Zombieland” (loved it and Bill Murray), “The Invention of Lying” (liked it and Jennifer Garner), and thanks to Netflix, I found that “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” isn’t a horrible movie, just a generic romantic comedy good enough for your cable viewing.

Stu, on the other hand, had a rough weekend as some shelf building injured his normal, butt-wiping flipper, and quickly learned he is not ambidextrous and probably won’t fair well if he really is injured. He also learned that kids sometimes follow the leads of other kids but was proud of his son's ability to seek out a garbage can, and his money pit, or rather RV, is ready for some camping. Stu also has his idea for a perfect wedding gift and has now secured that he may not be invited to my upcoming nuptials.

All of that, some Chicago Bears talk, in under 20 minutes!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Chicago Olympics, Monday TV Viewing, Surrogates, Jim Cantore Calls Stu, and More!

Maybe it’s just a guy thing, but as I started our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast Stu Gotz caught on immediately to the saying “Here I sit, broken hearted…” But farts and pooping did not last long in our talking as naked women and Stu Gotz getting a call from Jim Cantore with The Weather Channel immediately took precedence. Then with President Obama heading to Copenhagen to boost Chicago’s Olympic big, and the return of the Chia Obama, why not hit some politics as well, so we do.

Now the both of us know that politics can be controversial, and since our weekends try to stay fun Stu tells me about the martial arts talents of the Little Gotz’s, we both saw “Surrogates,” (okay, so much for fun during our weekend), and the new TV season has us both stymied as to A) Recording all of the shows we want to, and B) watching them, especially since Stu wants me to watch some show on cable called “Pawn Shop.” We talk a tad about the Chicago Bears, Stu wonders if Saturday Night Live will get fined by the FCC for dropping the F-Bomb, and Stu made the discovery of the century – He found Franken Berry, Boo Berry, and Count Chocula at his local target, and brought in the boxes to prove it.

We cover a lot of topics in eighteen minutes, and hope you enjoy some of them.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Goodbye Summer, Lots of TV Talk, Melting Cars, and A-Holes.

Stu Gotz wonders if you can get sued for calling someone an asshole, so as we begin our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast I let him know the rules as I know them, thanks to Penn & Teller. Luckily Stu calms down (he's a little peeved at the Chicago Cubs) so he can let me know if the Gotz boys, and Mama Gotz, liked "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," and with the Emmy Awards being last night, we give our Emmy Award run-down, or, well, we talk about them a bit. Me, I'm a little sad to see summer go, what with Autumnal Equinox happening tomorrow (maybe I should try to stand an egg on its end), and a little sad I don't remember all of the movies I have seen because I had "Smart People" in my Netflix queue for me and my BFF to watch, and then I was surprised to find I had seen it already.

But new TV is upon us so I tell Stu if "Community" is any good, he can't help but get in a word about a cable show, I'm looking forward to "Survivor: Samoa" and the dumb blondes, we both have TiVo setting to do, and finally, Stu is wondering if the potential side effects for Latisse, a drug that can give you longer, fuller eyelashes, is worth it because unlike the song lyric "Don't it make my brown eyes blue," there is a possibility of making your blue eyes brown.

For reasons beyond the comprehension of human thought, Stu Gotz and I couldn't get together yesterday for our normal "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but that's okay because it gives us a chance to talk a bit about Jay Leno's new show, how both myself and my BFF didn't find it funny, and Stu has his wish what Kanye West would have really said. But our Monday wrap-up aside, my weekend was about football (nice Chicago Bears and Ohio State Buckeye's losses) and computer programming, while Stu was able to get away with Mama Gotz to see "Extract," and Stu lets us all know if it's any good.

Stu is finishing up his summer TV viewing of cable shows, I'm cheering on The Fab Five, kind of hoping they win America's Got Talent (although I wouldn't be surprised if The Texas Tenors win), and with a Matt Damon movie hitting the big screen in "The Informant" next week, I might be telling Stu of my escapades to the movie theater...

And hopefully a Bears win over the Steelers.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! No Blago, Some Big O, Being Sicko, and Obamo.

Labor Day delayed our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast, but Stu Gotz starts things off by trying to figure out why I’m not going to read “The Governor” by former Illinois Governor Rod Blagejovich. Meanwhile, as I’m ruining the podcast with coughing fits as I get over a cold, Stu isn’t suffering from his allergies, at least while we are recording.

It being Labor Day weekend, though, for me it was fairly relaxing as I was dealing with said cold, although I did clean the garage with my BFF and catch “Office Space” and “Mean Girls,” while Stu saw some movie no one heard of called “Big Stan.” Stu did not care for it.

But the big news in Chicago was Oprah shutting down Michigan Avenue for her kick-off special with the Black Eyed Peas, among others, and nationally President Obama was going to talk to kids to tell them to stay in school, but some people were afraid. Of what, Stu and I aren't really sure, but I give some ideas why.

And finally, Stu caught “Whatever, Martha!” with Jennifer Koppelman Hutt and Alexis Stewart, for whatever reason, even though he gets the name wrong, calling it “Really, Martha!”, and maybe he should have asked Martha Stewart for her advice because he took down the kiddie pool, much to the dismay of the little Gotz's.

Fall is coming, so is football, so next week we will probably give our Chicago Bears rundown, and maybe catch a movie in a theater, but for now...

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Wal-Mart Game, No Nudity in Playboy, Red Wine, and the Meaning of Labor Day.

As we start this podcast episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!", I explain to Stu that I might be dropping my subscription to Playboy, though it has nothing to do with My BFF and everything to do with Heidi Montag. Stu, meanwhile, had some excitement of his own in a bathroom. As far as weekends go, Mama Gotz relearned a lesson from her youth and Stu gives the blow by blow, even though it's not the blow by blow Stu was hoping for. I tell Stu all about the hardware store quadfecta of Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe's and Menards, and introduce Stu to the Wal-Mart game.

We also talk a bit about what Labor Day is all about, Stu got to see "The Promotion" and didn't really like it, I watched Penn & Teller chat about The Vatican, and congrats to Scuba Bo and Scuba Sue and their budding romance - or so says their respective Facebook pages.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Lot of Trees, Crashing Cars, Inglourious Basterds, The Fab 5, and Don't Forget the Boobs.

Something I always wanted to do, but it just seemed sort of weird to do it when I was single and alone, was go to the Morton Arboretum in the Chicago Suburbs, but now that I have My BFF, a perfect weather Sunday brought about a lovely afternoon looking at trees, and I tell Stu all about it during this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast episode. While I was enjoying nature this weekend, and a visit to the new Apple Store in Naperville, IL., Stu and the little Gotz's were enjoying destruction, as in car destruction at the Route 66 Raceway for a demolition derby. We both saw "Inglorious Basterds" and give our verbal reviews, I actually watched "Monk," but did Stu?, and we discuss that if you're going to plan on being a nutjob murderer, don't forget to add "See if girlfriend has breast implants and then remove them after killing her," because whoever killed Jasmine Fiore, well, Ryan Jenkins found himself dead, and Fiore was ID'd via her boobs.

Another nice weekend, Stu got to see The Mystery Dude, and neither of us are that excited about the movies opening next weekend, but I am looking forward to cheering on The Fab 5 on "America's Got Talent" the next time they are on. We talk about so much in so little time!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Goods, Monk, Harry Potter, and a Light Fixture.

I don't know how it happened, but both Stu Gotz and I saw "The Goods" over the weekend, and even though, during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, we discuss our differing opinions, we both agreed that the movie made us laugh. Sure, most people went to see "District 9," but since we aren't most people, why not let you know if you should see a movie you might not have planned on spending your bucks on - that's our gift to you. And speaking of movies, I also got to see "The Rocker" while watching my local cable TV, saw "The Soloist" while watching my Blu-ray, while Stu was confused as to exactly when the last episode of Monk is.

On other notes, Stu went to the Museum of Science and Industry here in Chicago and caught the Harry Potter exhibit (I'm still trying to figure how he thought the "science" of Harry Potter would have been explained), while my Saturday of a lot of little projects turned into replacing a light fixture over the stairs, but that's okay because it was a project that needed to be done.

Next weekend Stu and I might sneak off and play hooky to see "Inglorious Basterds," and not "Inglorious Bastards" as you might spell it.

As weekends go, this one in Chicago was hot, and if things stay the status quo, next year when Lollapalooza comes through I'm predicting humid, with temperatures in the 90's, and a chance of showers. It's not that Stu Gotz nor I went to the big concert, but during this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, I get to tell Stu about my trip to see "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." Stu had excitement of his own as some of his in-laws are in town, and wouldn't you know it, it wasn't the kids who took a spill and maybe broke a foot, but one of the older folks. Stu did get to see a movie, namely "7 Pounds," the Will Smith flick, and thought the beginning of the movie was really slow, while I caught the remake of "Race to Witch Mountain" with Dwayne "Don't Call Me The Rock" Johnson on Blu-ray.

I let Stu know about some Walmart woes, Stu wonders why some companies can't just be satifsfied (like Radio Shack becoming The Shack), and even more because, well, it's a weekend and sometimes we do things.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Lots of Traffic, New Spectacles, No Funny, and a Lazy Sunday.

Sure, in Chicago they say there are only two seasons, winter and construction, and usually it is construction season that causes all of the traffic delays, but Stu Gotz tells me during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast that there is another form of traffic, related solely to the reemergence of football season, and he was just lucky he was heading out of Bourbonnais, Illinois, when training camp for the Chicago Bears started. He also had some traffic woes when he was going to pick up Mama Gotz, but luckily he had some gorgeous weather for a diving excursion. Me, I was chastised by my local optometrist who wondered how I was getting contacts for all of these years without a prescription, and I told him I didn't realize it was that long since I got my eyes examined because 1-800-CONTACTS would just send me an e-mail asking if I needed a refill, I told them yes, and low and behold - more contacts. I also told Stu about a nice time that was had by all at the Grand Opening my BFF held, how Sunday was lazy without any movie watching, although thanks to "The Soup" on E! I found out my brother was in Key West and got to hang with Al Roker on the Today Show. That's him, sitting behind Al. Sort of wish I had known and set my TiVo. Oh well.

Since neither Stu nor I saw "Funny People" last weekend, maybe next week we'll both try to catch "G.I. Joe." Stu, though, did see "G-Force," and lets you know during the podcast if it's good for kids, and maybe adults as well.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Sleeping, Fireworks, Merry-Go-Rounds, and Chicago Cubs!

Somehow both Stu Gotz and I both ended up in downtown Chicago for Venetian Night, and during this episode of our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" we all find out that I slept through it while Stu was worried about his kids drowning. I do tell Stu that I stayed awake for dinner at Carnivale, while Stu at least enjoyed some fireworks once the kids were on terra firma. We also talk some firework traditions in Chicago, namely pulling over on Lake Shore Drive to watch them, and Stu had his share of asshole kids, as well as asshole/stupid parents.

With my extended napping, there was no time to see movies for me, and Stu didn't catch any in the theater, but he did see "Mamma Mia!" on HBO, and comments on the singing of Pierce Brosnan. We are both kind of happy that the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox are doing well, we don't really talk too much about Sarah Palin quitting, and we want to see "Funny People" this coming weekend, but both wonder how funny it will be.
