As wives and mothers, we often look to home décor and bedding accessories for our household to represent the luxurious lifestyle we wish to lead. We want our homes to exemplify our tastes, as well as provide the most comfort possible, within our budgetary limitations.

As young couples begin their lives, they find that the bedroom is the most logical and affordable room in the house to begin expressing their personal style and vision. That is why so many people put a great deal of time, effort, and money into finding the right comforter and comforter set to serve as the template for creating the perfect bedroom suite.

For many of us, our bedroom is the room in which we spend most of our time — a full one third of our lives in most cases. For many people, our bedroom also serves as a retreat from the outside world when everything else in life turns difficult. It is our haven away from the constant chatter of children and away from the stresses of the day’s activities.

Materials Make The Comforters Comfortable

Materials that are made from synthetic fibers, synthetic blends, and 100% natural fibers are used to create multiple types of comforters. Comforter fabric designs can range from simple to elaborate, depending on the present or future presentation of one’s home.

Comforters, which are polyester-filled, cotton-filled, or a combination of the two, are really the most popular options for bed comforter sets. The polyester- or cotton-filled are the most reasonably priced of the many types of comforters and that directly accounts for the popularity of the style.

For those couples with a little more robust budget find silk comforters to be well worth the extra cost. The silk comforter sets, although more expensive than those previously mentioned, possess a greater appeal to consumers for many reasons.

Typically, silk comforters tend to be allergy-free products, which is a fantastic advantage for those who battle with allergies on a daily basis. The silk comforter is also a relatively lightweight product: perfect for those individuals who get too warm at night! But for those who tend to stay chilly, never fear. The silk comforter, when pulled close, can also be warm and it is best known for its ability to keep body heat trapped close to the body.

The wool-filled bed comforter can be another great option for someone looking to invest in a new comforter. Generally, the wool-filled comforter will be manufactured with wool from the llama or alpaca. Like silk, it is typically an allergy-free product; again, a good bonus for many potential consumers. The wool comforter is considered by many to be a warm and cozy addition to their bed. And although filled with wool, these types of comforters will typically come covered in 100% cotton materials.

One of the more popular choices for someone, who is looking for a comforter or bed comforter set, will be one which is filled with down or feathers. These can be purchased in a light, medium, or heavy version, depending upon how warm the consumer wishes the comforter to be. The down and feather comforters can be an excellent choice, as they deliver nature’s warmth to the bedroom. Baffle box stitching even keeps the down or feathers from shifting within the comforter, as it once did in previous generations. While down comforters provide great natural warmth to its users, it is not very friendly to individuals who are prone to allergies.

Making The Final Decision

Determining which bedding and comforters to buy can be a difficult decision, but the comforter selected can make all the difference in the world to how well it serves its purpose of permitting its users to get a good night’s sleep.

If you and/or your spouse tend to have problems with allergies, then by all means, do consider a silk or wool comforter, to reduce the threat of allergies while you sleep. If allergens are not a consideration, then polyester-filled, cotton-filled or down-filled comforter sets may provide the perfect amount of warmth, during those long, cold nights.

If you live in the far North, then a heavier down will make more sense, but if you live in the Deep South, a lighter filling should be selected. In all cases, comfort should be the first and main consideration when deciding on a comforter set.

Once the right combination of materials has been chosen, then the aesthetic appeal of the comforter sets available should be considered. Does this set match the current style and flavor of your bedroom set? Or, does it match where you would like to go with your bedroom décor down the road? Your bed comforter will set the overall ambience and beauty of your bedroom, so take the time to make sure that you have found a design that will best suit your desires.

The best news of all is that if you shop around, you will find that the Internet offers bedding stores that deliver a wide range of comforter sets, using many different materials, presented in many beautiful designs, all at prices you can afford.

When a guest comes into your home, one of the focal points which immediately catch the eye is your garden. In addition to its aesthetic quality, a garden can also serve as your outdoor sanctuary where you can soak up the sun, enjoy the coolness of a moonlit night or use as a space to entertain your guests in.

This is precisely the reason why it pays to exert the extra effort in making sure that your garden is eco-friendly, well taken cared of, ecologically-balanced and beautiful all at the same time.

Enumerating the Things to do for Garden Maintenance

So what are the things that you need to keep in mind when designing and maintaining your garden? Take a look at the following list:

1.	Create a layout of what you want your final garden to look like.
Just as it is when designing a room in the house, you should also have a layout and a clear picture of how your final garden should look. Incorporate details like charming flower pots, trellises, garden furniture and have a layout of how the shrubs would be planted.

2.	Incorporate eco-friendly features in the garden.
Another goal that you should have in maintaining a garden is that it should be eco-friendly. When choosing the materials to incorporate in your garden, make sure that they were made with a sustainable manufacturing process. You should also incorporate eco-friendly features like a balancing pond or rainwater harvesting features. These two would basically collect flood water or excess rainwater and use it to irrigate your garden.

3.	Why not go organic?
When buying fertilizers or pesticides, make sure that they are 100% organic. This is especially true if you are maintaining a vegetable or herb garden – you don’t want the produce to be infested with chemicals when they are ready for harvesting.

4.	Learn how to attract wildlife and maintain the ecological balance in your garden.
Another characteristic of a garden is that it is ecologically-balanced. Aside from the plants, there should be birds, bees, frogs, worms and other animals that would balance out the structure of your garden. You can attract these wildlife creatures by creating a compost bin; making a frog shelter; growing some ivy to attract birds and butterflies; and piling together logs to attract hedgehogs.

5.	Additional garden maintenance tips.
If you’re a beginner gardener, it always helps to learn about the ins and outs of organic gardening and garden maintenance – and apply the knowledge to your own garden.

By following these tips and expanding your knowledge about the subject, you can create an eco-friendly garden that is beautiful, sustainable and organic while you’re doing your share in saving the environment as well.

Many companies and contractors in need of acquiring new or used construction equipment often don’t have the financial resources needed to buy the construction equipment outright, unless it is a large corporation or some branch of the government. This is when the option of renting or leasing construction equipment comes into play. Deciding to rent or lease often depends on what the contractor or business manager feels most comfortable doing from a financial perspective after evaluating the many possibilities and deciding what suits their need from long term leasing to short term renting. The side of construction equipment rentals has met a positive growth since 2004, where nearly 50% of construction equipment dealers’ are offering heavy equipment rentals as part of their operation.

There are two ways most companies acquire their construction equipment, renting or leasing. Many contractors or business managers viewed renting or leasing as an opportunity to test out construction equipment at no extra cost and with no strings attached with the possibility of buying. Most often the rental would be converted into a purchase to avoid losing the invested equity. Most buyers would also take into account whether their business is flourishing or floundering, before committing to buying any construction equipment. In a case where a business has an uncertain future, the potential buyers may deem renting as the best way economically and then return the construction equipment to its owner when the job is done.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is the international trade and business development resource for companies that manufacture equipment, products and services used worldwide in the construction, agricultural, mining, forestry, and utility fields. The AEM has conducted a survey that predicted that in the near future, more construction equipment buyers will turn to the Internet for product purchases; as construction equipment buyers increasingly turn to the Internet for transactions, information and support.

Consequently, the rise of on-line auctions, sales, renting and leasing are made available by a variety of merchants who cater to the needs of companies and contractors worldwide. On-line merchants such as: Machine Mart, Rock & Dirt, Machinery Trader, Iron Planet, Contractors Hotline, etc. are only a few of the leading markets where companies and contractors alike can find nearly every piece of construction equipment they are looking for, from the top manufacturers such as Caterpillar and John Deere to many more. Many of these merchants offer the options of buying, selling, renting and leasing of new and used construction equipment to parts service and repair and machine maintenance. It’s always wise to investigate the background of any merchant before you place a bid or purchase any construction equipment, to ensure a good reputable stand point before entering into a contract with any dealer or merchant. It’s always wise to shop around and compare deals on construction equipment to other offers before committing to any deal.

This method of vegetable gardening is what I prefer. As you might have guessed, it doesn’t involve digging. This method is particularly suited to older people or people with physical disabilities. But I just prefer it because I think it’s better for the soil.

When soil is turned over it destroys the soil structure. When you create a no-dig plot you are not disturbing the topsoil at all, this means that the soil microbes, worms and creatures can continue doing what they do best in your garden.

For the best results in your garden, you want to aim for no compaction of the soil. Water, air and nutrients travel through the soil by pathways made by worms and plant roots. When soil is compacted these pathways are destroyed.

By designing you plots to be no more than say 1.25metres (4 feet) across (and however long you want) you can avoid having to stand in it. If you start with a small bed, (1.25m x 2.5m / 4’ x 8’) you can plan it so that you can expand when you are ready.

No matter what your location, no dig vegetable gardens are a great option for you. It means that it doesn’t matter what sort of soil you are starting out with as the layering of materials over the surface will continue to feed and condition your soil. Eventually you will end up with dark, nutrient rich soil.

A No Dig garden bed is made on top of the ground. It can be built over existing garden beds, lawns and even hard or rocky ground – even concrete. It should be situated in an area that receives at least six hours sun (preferably morning sun) a day and that has good drainage.
When preparing the plot it is not necessary to pull up lawn or an existing garden, you will be ‘smothering’ what is already there.

Building your plot

I like to install irrigation before building my plot as I find it saves me so much time and trickle irrigation (on a timer) is a far better way to water than by hand or sprinkler.
One thing to always remember when handling manures, soil or any organic matter is to always wear tough gloves to protect you from bacteria getting into any cuts. Then wash your hands thoroughly when you’re finished in the garden.

1. Form the outside walls of your plot. You can use logs, old planks, pavers, bricks, stones, sleepers etc. If you have disabilities you might want to get help with this.

2. Lay down a thick layer of wet newspaper (I use an old baby bath filled with water to soak the newspaper), making sure it completely covers the enclosed area. It should be at least 6mm (quarter inch) thick and overlap by about 75mm (3inches). This will kill off any weeds and more from growing. Only use newspaper and glossy, coloured paper has chemicals.

3. Lay down pads (or biscuits) of lucerne hay or pea straw, making sure there are no gaps between pads.

4. Add a 20mm (¾inch) layer of good organic fertilizer (chicken manure is great).

5. Cover with about 200mm (8inches) thick of loose straw.

6. Add another 20mm (¾inch) layer of good organic fertilizer (blood & bone etc).

7. Finish off with a top layer of compost, about 100mm (4inches) thick.

8. Water well and allow to settle.

9. Plant out seedlings after 2 or 3 weeks (not seeds).

Some of the benefits of creating a no-dig, raised plot include:

-	can be built anywhere, any time to any design

-	keeping your garden tidy, with easy access

-	stops birds from scratching your mulch everywhere

-	it mirrors nature by create a rich, organic environment for your plants

-	once set up, it’s virtually maintenance free

-	helps prevent destruction from snails, rabbits etc.

In your new garden the best veggies are potatoes, lettuce, brassicas and cucurbits (cucumber family). Root crops are better once your plot has matured.
It is better to have mixed plantings of vegetables and herbs, rather than long rows or a whole bed of one type of plant. Companion Planting benefits your garden in many ways, including pest and disease prevention and growing healthier, more vigorous plants.
Keeping your beds topped up with compost and/or mulch helps prevent weeds, retain moisture and promotes steady healthy growth.

Grounding the room with a colorful rug could be the perfect solution. Often the weight and visual interest a rug gives a room is enough to complete the look you’re going for. An attractive rug that catches your eye beautifies a space that is otherwise plain. But perhaps the best perk to adding a rug to your floor is the cozy feel under your feet.

Some of the hottest rugs to hit the floors lately are the casual and frolicsome pieces by Company C. The vibrant colors and soft plush textures of Company C rugs make them desirable while the high-quality construction and materials make them practical. The family-owned company began designing rugs in 1997 and fabulous new styles are released twice a year. Most Company C rugs are 100% wool, which allows them to look and feel beautiful for years to come. Whatever your style, the wonderful rugs from Company C can enhance your space.

Water fountains in indoor settings have become quite a buzzword among home decorators and owners like you in the last few years. This is not surprising, since indoor fountains give you a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, as the water quietly runs in the fountain. Stores can attest to the popularity of indoor fountains. A look at stores in malls and on the Internet results in a lot of indoor fountains being sold. But what happens if you can’t find your indoor fountain of your dreams in the malls or in the various websites? Do not fret. Actually, there are many of you that do not seem to find what they think are the right indoor fountains for them.

Having a beautiful and elegant indoor water fountain does not always have to be the same with what other people have just because you bought yours from a store or in the Internet. And, no, you don’t want to pay for a fountain with an extremely steep price just to avoid having a commonly owned fountain. Try doing it on your own. The sound of the trickling water from a fountain you did might prove to be more peaceful and relaxing than the mass-produced ones.

I. Build Your Own Indoor Fountain

If you can’t find an indoor fountain in the market that could match your personal taste, lifestyle, and uses, why not make your own? Making your own indoor fountain is cheaper than buying it in a store or online. Generally, making one would cost you around $40. There are a number of variations available in making your own water fountain, but the instructions in making one are very basic.

II. Materials

- for base, you could use a waterproof container
- aquarium pump that is submersible; easily available in garden centers or at fish stores
- copper pipe with diameter of half an inch
- easy-to-use pipe cutter that costs around $2.50 only
- silicone glue – when this dries up, the glue becomes clear
- two pieces of elbow joints
- reducer that goes on top of your pump
- t-bar
- a copper piece
- beautiful and appealing rocks which you will be using for your foundation to stabilize the fountain and make the foundation more sturdy

III. Building Steps:

1. Put the pump into your container

Since the pump hole is relatively smaller compared with copper fittings, you must add the reducer. By this time, you are prepared in putting the first arm of your copper foundation.

On the pipe’s outer edge, put some silicone. Then put together the pieces one by one. Before putting the top pipe over it, you must have some holes pre-drilled. You can pre-drill using a drill bit with a one-eighth-inch size. This will make your fountain have the perfect flow. You must remember all the time that the copper frame size should fit snugly into your container, allowing the water to freely circulate.

2. Check if its top part is aligned

The top part is aligned if the water perfectly flows right into your container. Expect that the final arm will be longer since the pump will elevate it. Place the joint first, as this will make the arm secured. Measure then the pipe. Cut down the excess part.

3. Keep it stabilized

Adding a number of beautiful and large stones should make the weight heavier. After putting the large stones, put some small river pebbles. And then add water.

4. Go From There

Now you have the basic foundation for your indoor fountain! From there, you can design it based on your imagination, for the look of your fountain is limitless and depends on how imaginative and creative you can get. For just starters, you could improve your fountain look by putting dried flowers and grasses. Arrange them. If you plan on installing a fountain right inside your kitchen, you might want this example. You could create your base foundation using a used or old copper pan. Flatten it using a hammer. Then suspend the flatware using copper wire.

I never dreamed that I would have a job that I loved as much as I love my job as a wedding planner. Many days I cannot believe that I am getting paid to something that I love so much. I enjoy my job so much for two main reasons. First, I enjoy it because I genuinely love helping people. Second, I love being a wedding planner because I love weddings and I love seeing people enter into lifelong covenant relationships. I enjoy helping to plan great themes and all the details to make a wedding day extra special. I have been suggesting a Japanese garden theme to some clients lately.

I have been fascinated with all things Japanese and remotely Japanese looking for the last several years, and so I think that is why I try to incorporate a Japanese garden theme into weddings as often as possible lately. Most of my clients are a little surprised by the idea, but a few have actually decided to go with a Japanese garden theme for their wedding and reception.

The great thing about a Japanese garden theme is that it is colorful and beautiful while allowing for great flexibility and uniqueness. I cannot stand seeing people choose a theme for their wedding and reception that has been done so many times before. So I love aiding people in coming up with unique themes that fit them perfectly. With a Japanese garden theme, there really is room to tailor the theme to many different styles, seasons, and degrees of formality for weddings and receptions. I can help a couple plan a Japanese garden themed brunch or a black tie evening affair.

So if you are looking for a great theme for your wedding or for a party of any kind, then think about choosing a Japanese garden theme. Do a little research and get some ideas of what is available in your area. See what kinds of foods, invitations and flowers you like that might go with a Japanese garden theme. Talk to a wedding planner or to any friends with a sense of style and planning to gather even more ideas. You might be surprised at what a perfect theme a Japanese garden is for many occasions. Especially if you are someone that likes to learn about and honor the traditions and customs of other cultures, a Japanese garden theme is something you should investigate carefully.

Increasingly, homeowners are looking to go with the flow-creating continuity from room to room with design elements that complement each other and tie the whole house together.

This has often been one of the greater design challenges, even for professionals. That’s because while some design elements offer an overall sense of unity, others-that may have plenty of “wow” appeal on their own-simply don’t work from one room to another.

Fortunately, spectacular new collections are helping create the sort of harmony that people desire. Known as the Architecturally Inspired Collections™, these simple-to-coordinate collections offer builders and homeowners the ability to blend a specific architectural design and finish seamlessly throughout a home. And with additional collections on the way, there will be plenty of options for beautifying the home.

The first two sensational lines consist of newly designed faucets, showerheads, door hardware and bathroom accessories that feature complementary styles and distinctive matching finishes. The traditional country-inspired Ashfield Collection is fashionable and flexible. This seemingly eclectic style brings together time-honored country traditions, while the sleek, coastal-inspired Avalon has a slight touch of the coast, aesthetically co-existing with any color scheme or decor. Plus, the exceptional quality of the collections gives consumers additional confidence in their design decisions; it’s like having an interior designer in the house.

“Today’s homeowners are looking for residential synergy, attempting to coordinate a wide range of products for their homes that blend a single theme,” said Sandy Vandall, vice president of Research and Brand Marketing for the Black & Decker Hardware and Home Improvement Group.

The Ashfield and Avalon Collections will be available in an array of elegant, richly detailed matching finishes, including Polished Chrome, Satin Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Rustic Pewter™, Rustic Bronze™ and Tuscan Bronze™. Each finish carries a lifetime anti-tarnish warranty. Additional finishes are available on selected products.

Architecturally Inspired Collections is an innovative combination of the trendsetting designs of Price Pfister and Kwikset, two leaders in the home-improvement industry that are working together to help create continuity of design. More collections, including the upcoming Modern Collection, are planned for the future.

Accessories You May Purchase For Your Stairlift Product

You know how cars are always adorned by all sorts of accessories, right? Men go ga-ga over the bling-blings for their wheels, almost the same way women go crazy over belts, brooches and the sorts.

Well, for stairlifts, the primary purpose these accessories serve is safety and comfort and not design. Stairlifts may already be costly as they are, but it would still do you good to purchase accessories to ensure the well being of your loved ones.

Frame type Sit And Stand – If the stairlift product that’s to be installed at your house would be used by more than one person, perhaps it’s better to purchase a sit and stand frame for your stairlifts, especially when neither have the same health problems. With this type of frame for your stairlifts, the user or passenger may be able to either sit or stand while he/she climbs up and down the stairs.

Seatbelt – Yes, just like when you’re riding a roller coaster or your ordinary Ford truck, it’s always advisable to wear a seatbelt…just in case anything happens. You can choose between a seatbelt that would be wrapped around your lap – the manufacturers describe it as an inertia reel lap harness – or one that would strap both your shoulders – this time, referred to as static type, 3 point fixing over shoulder harness. Either way, as long as you have a seatbelt for your stairlift, the chances of risking injury are less likely.

Hinged Rail – In a small or compact sized house where there’s little space available, stairlifts with hinged rails are quite ideal because you could fold the lower part of the rail when it’s not in use. This is also ideal if your stairway is right next to the doorway and the lower part of the rail of the stairlift just serves as another obstruction.

Power Folding Footrest – Let’s just say that you have a mighty big house and even with the dough rolling in nonstop, you still prefer to install stairlifts instead of an elevator, no matter that there’s about twenty feet worth of stairs to climb up and down.

Wouldn’t it be nice for the passenger to have a footrest while they’re traveling from the East to the West Coast? But seriously though, the footrest for the stairlifts can also be handy for users or passengers who have problems bending down.

Power Swivel Seat – This is more for the comfort of passengers as they enter and exit the stairlifts.

However, softwood producing trees such as the Cedar contain just two types of cell and have few water conducting vessels meaning it stays dryer in wet conditions than other conifers such as the Yew or the Cypress tree. They commonly reach 1500m in height and are 30 to 40m across. In their natural habitat, Cedar trees are exposed to mountain and monsoon climates, which mean that they are adept at surviving snow, drought, heavy rainfall and temperatures as low as -25?C.

Not only are Cedar trees aesthetically beautiful, but they produce wood which smells and looks lovely when crafted into furniture. This type of wood is ideal for outdoor furniture as it is resistant to decay and is protected by its own natural oils and resins that prepare the wood for harsh weather conditions. However, many cedar garden furniture items (particularly those used outdoors) are stained or treated every two to three years in order to give the wood those few extra years of protection against the elements. If left untreated, Cedar wood gradually ages and develops a greyish-silver colour. This looks good but means that the wood will not last as long as it would, had it been treated. An additional advantage of Cedar is that it is sparse (has a low density) and while it attempts to equalise the moisture within its wood and the air around it, it does not warp or crack as many other woods do. Cedar wood contains small pockets of air, which means that it doesn’t conduct heat as well as some other woods. This is ideal in summer when the air is warm, and the cedar furniture remains cool despite the weather.

Cedar wood is often chosen by carpenters and furniture manufacturers because of its low density and weight. It is easy to transport and very versatile, along with its weatherproof qualities and aesthetic appeal which makes it an ideal wood for outdoor furniture.

Western red Cedar wood is often chosen for furniture because of its attractive look. It has a straight grain and an almost terracotta shade. Unlike ‘white’ Cedar, its natural oils also repel moths and other insect pests such as ticks, fleas and termites which make it well suited for outdoor dog and cat pens or houses and small huts such as beachhouses.

It has also been tested in the US for its flame spread rating in order to determine how fast fire will burn through the material. The lower the rating, the slower the wood takes to burn, and Western red cedar wood’s flame spread rating is 98 which is considered low. So not only is red cedar wood perfect for outdoor furniture and structures, but it is very suitable for interior displays, wall panels and furniture too.
