<p>What about layout? Avoid sidebars in bright colors, and make sure that the main text is black on a white background. The whole idea is to draw the surfer to the text and to keep him or her reading. Remember that, learn a bit of copywriting and you will be well away.</p>

You do not need to set up any type of payment processing system, nor do you need to worry about delivering the product of customer sales. Your only job is to refer people to the merchant’s site. Each time one of your referrals makes a purchase; you collect a commission that varies between 30% and 75% of the sales price.</p>
<p>But which affiliate program is best if you are just starting out. Although ClickBank is among the largest and most well known, there may be better alternatives for you if you want to make money quickly. Before ClickBank will send out your first check, they require that you generate sales from 5 separate credit cards. PayPal purchases do not count toward this total. In many cases, you may have to generate 10 to 12 sales before qualifying to get your first check. This could take you 5 to 6 months if you are just starting out.</p>
<p>If you have a PayPal account, a better alternative may be to use PayDotCom’s affiliate program. They have no minimum requirements. They will credit the money you earn directly into your PayPal account in the month following your first sale, regardless of the amount. If you need o earn money quickly, this is a much better alternative for you.</p>
<p>Although PayDotCom does not offer quite as many products as ClickBank, they offer a fairly large selection of diversified products. Their marketplace works very much like ClickBank’s. They give a numerical rating to each product so you can determine which products sell well.</p>
<p>Before jumping into the first affiliate program you see, investigate their terms of service. What appears to be the best program may not be the ideal program if you are just starting out.</p>

<p><strong>1. Headlines</strong></p>
<p>This is the most important issue for getting more bidders to your auction page. You must include words that people will search on eBay. And, you must make your headline enticing, so potential bidders will click it. If you are selling an antique make-up table a headline saying old vanity table would not pull in a lot of bidders. But, if you said something like &#8220;Vintage Vanity Table - Mint Condition - Collector’s Item&#8221; not only would you get more potential bidders to view your auction, you would also be using words people would search eBay for. Your auction title would appear in searches for Vintage, Vanity Tables, and Collectors Items. Therefore, allowing even more potential bidders to see your headline.</p>
<p><strong>2. Image</strong></p>
<p>You need to use an image on your auction page. Remember a picture is worth a 1000 words! Potential bidders will want to see what the item looks like before they make a bid. With digital cameras, being so affordable these days adding an image to your auction page is easier than ever. But, make sure the image is clear and well lit to show its detail or any imperfections it may have. Also, keep the image at a reasonable pixel size so your auction page doesn&#8217;t take too long to load.</p>
<p><strong>3. Item Description</strong></p>
<p>Not enough information or too much rambling of information will discourage people from bidding. So too will too many typos. Your item description must be clean and concise. Succinctly provide all the information required to describe the item sufficiently and create buyer interest.</p>
<p><strong>4. Auction Start/Close Time</strong></p>
<p>You must plan your auction start/close time around the bidders you wish to attract to your auction. If the product you are selling appeals to the working woman, the best time to start/end your auction would be in the evening or on the weekend. Always create a profile on your product and what group of the population you are selling to.</p>
<p><strong>5. Feedback</strong></p>
<p>One of the most important parts of your eBay Business. Feedback is a method eBay uses to allow buyers and sellers to record their experiences with each other. Then, others can check out the feedback of any eBayer they wish to deal with, to see if there has been any negative comments left. Therefore, it is extremely important to keep your feedback rating positive.</p>
<p><strong>6. Terms</strong></p>
<p>This could come under the heading Customer Service. If you have terms on your auction page that read something like this &#8220;Not Responsible For Item Once Shipped&#8221; or &#8220;Item Sold As Is&#8221; you will lessen the number of bidders for that auction. Be a responsible eBayer, have insurance on the item that your buyer can purchase. And be sure to have some sort of guarantee on your products.</p>
<p><strong>7. Item Condition</strong></p>
<p>You must let bidders know what condition your item is in. Is it new and in its packaging, or used but like new condition. Does it have any imperfections they should be made aware of.. Potential bidders will want to know what condition your item is in before making any bids.</p>
<p><strong>8. Reserve Price</strong></p>
<p>Do your research on the price for your item. If you must use a reserve price keep it real. If you over price your item you will not get as many bids. And, while all good marketers know there is a time and place for the Reserve Auction, you may actually get more bids using no reserve pricing at all. Do your research to help you make this decision.</p>
<p><strong>9. Customer Support</strong></p>
<p>You must respond to all emails regarding your auctions. Yes, responding to emails is time consuming. But, if you don&#8217;t, that potential bidder will look else ware for the product and you will have lost yourself a customer.</p>
<p><strong>10. Shipping</strong></p>
<p>Always state what your shipping price will be. And, Do Not tries to rip off your buyers by inflating the shipping price to increase your profit. Believe it or not, people do have a fair idea of what shipping costs should be. If they feel you are inflating your shipping price they will not bid on your item and may not look at any of your other auctions either from fear of being ripped off.</p>

With other words, do a lot of research on choosing the keywords. Others will say it is not a magic formula: it is just a lot of hard work and dedication in your part. Yes, they are right, but it is not enough, the devil is in details.</p>
<p>I will review now tactics and practices that have been proven over the years with astonishing results.</p>
<p><strong>Use unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing.</strong> I know some people are not comfortable with buying a domain for each affiliate marketing product. But this way you make a visitor to focus on just one product. If you offer 50 e-Books on one Website it will be really hard to convince a potential buyer what to buy. And now, the domains are extremely cheap, there is no reason not to try this tactic.</p>
<p><strong>Always include product reviews on the website and testimonials</strong>, this way your potential customers will have a better understanding about your product and it will build trust. Use customers name and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.</p>
<p>A couple of beginners asked me, if it is your first own product, you have nothing to include because nobody knows you well enough. The answer is you do not jump directly to promote a product. Time and time again, those businesses which focus on a select group of consumers and learn how to meet and exceed the needs of that segment of buyers grow their businesses far more quickly and easily than those businesses which take a shot-gun approach.</p>
<p>Identifying a niche to market to is always more cost-effective and efficient than trying to break through the clutter of mass appeal advertising. Only those businesses with incredibly deep pockets can afford to spend money on mass market appeals. Since only the people who truly want or need your product are going to buy it, why do you want to spend money advertising to anyone else?</p>
<p>This is especially true on the internet. With the increasing sophistication of search engine technology and the explosion of targeted websites, ezines, and discussion forums, there is really no reason for a serious marketer to waste precious dollars on people who have no interest in their product. Any time and effort you spend determining the characteristics of your best potential customers will pay off ten-fold or more.</p>
<p>If you already have a product or service on the market, the best place to start in analyzing what your particular niche might be is to look at your current customers. Categorize them by age, gender, occupation, how they learned about you, what convinced them to make their first purchase with you, how often have they purchased from you, and any other data you can capture.</p>
<p>Think about your product and what might make it unique in the eyes of your buyers. There may be regional or geographic differences, or maybe your product appeals to one type of customer because of aspect A and appeals to another type of customer because of Aspect B. Take an online florist, for example. One online florist may have discovered that funeral directors in a certain geographic region were purchasing a particular type of arrangement at a certain price point, but they could not sell that arrangement to any other segment of their customer base. General florists were not buying it, general consumers were not buying it.</p>
<p>The questions for the marketer once this information is discovered would be these: Are there enough funeral directors to make it worth our while to continue to offer this arrangement and can we think of additional products to sell with these arrangements to make it the focus of our business? If the answers are No, then funeral directors would not become a niche to be targeted for that particular business. If the answers are Yes, then the marketing team needs to learn all they can about these funeral directors and start testing and measuring products, ads, and offers to verify that it is a viable market.</p>
<p>For many marketers, a quick survey to existing customers asking them the above questions, plus some feedback on your follow-up and customer service efforts, will generate enough data that you can begin to see a pattern. If you have the email address for most of your customers, you may want to use a survey service like Constant Contact to query your customers. Or a short printed survey can be mailed to their home or given to them with a purchase. One suggestion: if you are going to send or hand-out a printed survey, you will get more response if you include a postage-paid reply envelope or give your customers some sort of incentive to reply, like a 20% discount on their next purchase or a $5.00 gift certificate to a local ice cream shop. The incentive does not have to be large, it just has to leave the customer with a good feeling about you and your company.</p>
<p>The second part of the analysis in determining what niche to pursue is often missed by marketers, but it is often critical to success: analyze the competition. If you do not yet have a product or service, this would be the place for you to start to come up with ideas on what types of products or services you want to promote. If you have a product, then buy the competitive products, look at their websites, look at their advertising. Talk to your customers to find out their impressions of your competition. If you can, try to talk to the customers of your competitors to see what they are doing to attract business. What do their customers like, and what don&#8217;t they like. If you are still looking for a product or service to promote, it&#8217;s usually best to start with an area or topic that you have some familiarity with, but it&#8217;s not mandatory. Keep your mind open to what you see in the marketplace and you will begin to see where you and your business vision can fit in.</p>
<p>One of two outcomes will generally occur when using competitive research to determine a viable niche. Sometimes you find an area of a market that is being under-served and can create a product or service to fill that need. This can be highly effective. This is the type of strategy that produced the cleaning shower sprays that grew to dominate the bathroom cleanser market in less than two years. Those manufacturers discovered consumers wanted a quick way to clean their showers on a daily basis and they created a product to specifically fulfill the desires of their consumers. If you can do this, and truly tap into a need that is not being filled, there is almost no way you can fail. But these situations are rare and take a lot of research and effort to find.</p>
<p>The more common approach is to look at the marketplace and see where the competition is greatest. Generally, when you find great competition, you will find great need and you can be successful by merely positioning your product or service differently. This is why you see thousands of &#8220;make money on the internet&#8221; sites, systems, and approaches. Those marketers know that the market is large enough that simple differentiation and positioning will allow them to make a profit. The trick to making money by trying to target a audience that is being targeted by everyone else is that you have to stand out in the crowd.</p>
<p>Standing out in a crowd is not as hard as it might seem if you truly do your research. Take the key selling points of three or four of the largest competitors, add your own twist, and viola&#8217;, you&#8217;ve created a unique approach. Remember, you may have the same service as the other guy, but no one else has YOU! <p>Every entrepreneur knows that running your own business goes hand in hand with long working hours (atleast in the initial days). In the start up phase the financial rewards you get from your company may not be very high…So it’s the passion that will keep you moving forward. If you are not passionate about the business, however determined you are to make your business a success, you will lack the drive to take your business forward. If there is no passion then you will be not be happy and your business will become just another J.O.B. Passion is the key…Your passion will inspire the people who work for you – This in turn will make them work harder. Passion is infectious. The first step in starting a business is to first find your passion and then build a business around it.</p>
<p>For some finding their passion is quite straightforward – these are the people who always knew what their dream job is and they go and build a business around it. For some it’s a bit of a long process. A long process it might be but it is a process with an end result. If you are truly determined to find your passion, you will find it. Make it your goal and work on it.</p>
<p>Close your eyes and think of what your dream job would be…This could be what you are passionate about – A word of caution though – If your dream job has absolutely no business potential then give it a miss. Be practical and reasonable when picking the business.</p>
<p>Sometimes you might be passionate about something and not even realize you have a passion for it. To discover what your hidden passion is – think of what you spend most time doing…Is there one particular topic that you do a lot of reading on…Is there something you always show keen interest in…This could be the answer.</p>
<p>If nothing comes to your mind straightaway – don’t despair…Pick up a pencil and a notebook and write down ideas – Look around the classifieds section in the newspaper for some ideas – Ideas are everywhere – Keep your mind open and you will find inspiration and ideas around you. Write them down…This is not something you should do in a day or two. If you do it in hurry then the chances of you picking the wrong business ideas are very high. Spend atleast a week. After you make a list of ideas, make a shortlist and research the potential of each one of them…Again a word of caution – a particular idea might have a huge business potential but if you have no passion for that idea then give that idea a miss.</p>
<p>Once you decide on what it is that you feel most passionate about, try and build a business around it. Research the market, study your competitors and then start your home business. You could even concentrate on a sub-niche of the market you pick. This might lessen the competition and increase your revenue potential.</p>

But first, I would like to let those that are not familiar with safelists learn a little about what they are.</p>
<p>Now, <strong>what is a Safelist?</strong></p>
<p>Safelists came into existence when Email &#8220;spam&#8221; became a big issue. Simply stated, Safelists are in fact nothing more than a group of individuals, who agree to receive and send email messages to each other.</p>
<p>The fact that they agree to receive email make these lists &#8220;safe&#8221;, hence the name Safelist&#8230; A Safelist can be used to advertise web sites, E-books, business opportunities, affiliate programs and so forth.</p>
<p>Safelists promote the hype that each member will get hundreds of targeted leads and earn thousands by submitting to their safelist. They continue the hype by promoting to the unwary that their ads will be seen and their sites visited. Certain types of sites like this can only marginally come close to making any sort of guarantee of visitors. Most of these types of safelists operate a credit based system that awards viewers credits when they visit other member sites. Once they reach a certain credit threshold they, in turn, can send out their own message.</p>
<p>The other version of this site does not offer credits, but only says that you won’t be accused of spamming by other members in the safelist. In both cases, the member must have a valid e-mail account to stay a member.</p>
<p>The two main problems arising from this type of system come from the sheer volume of e-mails coming to the member’s e-mail box. Many e-mail box services will simply start filtering them out, thus eliminating any possibility of them being viewed. The second comes from the fact that no one has time to read each email that comes into their box. Many e-mails will simply be mass deleted. Even credit based safelists have suffered from these problems.</p>
<p>How many people actually take the time to read your e-mails and view your site with any real intention of buying? It is important to remember that members of these safelists are trying to sell you their product. They are not interested in buying from you, and likewise you are trying to sell your product and are not interested in what they are offering. So, you have sellers selling to sellers for the most part and it just won&#8217;t work. Even credit based systems cannot guarantee sales. So, with all of this in mind, is it safe to assume you won’t make any money from them? If you do make any money here it is from newbie marketers who have been told to use safelists and Traffic exchanges(I will give my take on TE&#8217;S another time)and it won’t be as much as other proven methods of promotions.</p>
<p>In reality, the only &#8220;responsive safelist&#8221; an Internet Marketer can have is the one he or she generates thru legitimate means. For example starting a newsletter or through the use of lead generating squeeze pages.</p>

<p>Most affiliates will ask why they should brand their own business and themselves when they are not selling their own product. You will need to understand that customer will only purchase product from people or brand that they can trust. The main reason why you will need to brand yourself and your business is to gain credibility so that the customers from your market will have more confidence in purchasing the products from you.</p>
<p>If you are promoting a certain affiliate products, there will be many others who will be promoting the same products too. When there are so many affiliates promoting the same product, you will have to do something different so that you will be able to get the customers to buy the product through you.</p>
<p>When you have put in the effort in branding yourself as a credible person, who is interested in helping people, your customer will be able to feel it. The best approach to brand yourself is to start building your own profitable customer list so that you will have a portion of the market mindshare.</p>
<p>When you have a big list and you constantly put in effort in helping your customer, you will be building credibility and this will certainly improve your branding. You would want the customer to know that you are the one that recommends the product to them so that they will remember you, not the merchant.</p>
<p>Treat all the affiliate products that you are promoting as through they are your own affiliate product and focus on branding yourself. You will see the improvement in your business once your own branding is strong.</p>
