This is actually true somewhat. Kate guest starred on Ricky Gervais' "Extras." In that episode Kate Winslet says "Holocaust movies always guarantee an Oscar." She also talks dirty, which is hilarious.

Check it out and see Kate Winslet's Alter Ego
test

YTV of the day

The premiere episode of "United States of Tara" from Showtime.

Suburban wife and mother Tara Gregson (Toni Collette), juggles her family and career while suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder.

I was a little skeptic when I first heard about it but it was actually pretty hilarious. Not only did the strike go through the new year, in the fall, fewer shows premiered.

Sport
The Olympics. The Opening was fantastic, it passed my previous favorite, the opening of the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics. How could anyone surpass ski jumping with a torch? Well, Beijing did just that. Michael Phelps had us all watching closely.

Headlines
One thing we can't forget is the long but historic election, and everything that came with it (e.g. Sarah Palin, ??Joe the plumber??)

Celeb
Looking like Sarah Palin might be a bad thing, but for Tina Fey was definitely a good thing for her career. Winning huge at the Emmy Awards (Edit: and the Golden Globes) this year for her show ??30 Rock,?? Fey kept the buzz with record breaking ratings for ??SNL?? for resembling Palin, and the hit movie ??Baby Mama.??

Movies
Fun ride in movies this year.

First, there was the lovable movie ??Juno?? which struck in way ??Napoleon Dynamite?? did in 2004. It may have premiered December 25, 2007 but it spread like butter in '08. Starring Ellen Page, ??Juno?? raised the roof. Especially the quirky phrases that was introduced.

Then the musical ride started. With ??Hairspray?? starting the dancing in 2007, ??High School Musical 3?? (I have not seen this) brought musicals to a whole new level in '08. Then there were the Chihuahuas in ??Beverly Hills Chihuahua.?? (this neither.) Animation got a new name with ??Wall-E.?? People went crazy for ??The Dark Night.?? And finally, young readers had a new obsession with ??Twilight.??
test

Fav "Daily Show/Colbert Report" Moments of 2008

(5) The writer's strike - Jon and Stephen go on without a script
(4) Bush's Legacy - What more can the bush administration screw up before they leave?
(3) Former President Bill Clinton is a guest on Daily - Bill is very touchy
(2) Jon Comforts Bill O'Reilly - O'Reilly is scared about an Obama administration
(1) Jon and Colbert join forces for live election day coverage - Jon announes that Barack Obama is the next President, while Stephen shed some tears.

*There are many more Colbert Report moments but when I wrote this it was about The Daily Show, I just added a little.
test

<media:rating>adult</media:rating>
