I hope you got to eat some of that pig?! Great photos, although personally i could’ve done without the iron maiden photo.. Now I’m going to spend the rest of the day wondering what it would feel like to be trapped in one of those things. There’s a torture museum in Santillana del Mar, which I have steadfastly refused to go into, and will continue to do so in any future visits..

Yeah, but the night before a local lead us somewhere crappy, so we had a karma surplus.

Oddly, the coordinates for the non-existent place were within meters of the amazing restaurant. Sometimes Fate isn’t as stealthy as she should be.

It’d make a cool pen holder, wouldn’t it?

Some googling shows it to be called El Nadador (the swimmer) and it seems to be part of a set of sculptures. A couple more photos here and here. The little stick legs you can see in the latter photograph make it all the more creepy.

And here’s another one I took without Marga.

The artist is Francisco Leiro Lois.

It’s amazing how much you can discover about a statue with Google Earth and Wikipedia when all you know about it is that “it’s kinda close to the oficina de turismo down by the water in Vigo”.

I think that people focus on the cactus often enough that their brain rests enough to feel refreshed, therefore canceling the possibility that you get a headache or blurriness. There are eye-resting exercises, such as rolling your eyes in a complete circle 5x and focusing on one thing for 30 seconds for three sets for every 30 minutes that you are using a computer that are supposed to reduce stress in your eyes.
