I have had the pleasure of communicating with Caroline Starr Rose via blog comments and e-mail exchanges for several years, but to finally get to speak with her was a dream come true.

Caroline’s first novel, May B., which is written in gorgeous flowing verse, was released last month and in this episode of Behind the Blog Caroline and I talk writing, mothering, perseverance and following our dreams — and much, much more!

This show was recorded in January, 2012 and is just over 40 minutes long.

* * * * *

Caroline Starr Rose spent her childhood in the deserts of Saudi Arabia and New Mexico, camping at the Red Sea in one and eating red chile in the other. As a girl, she danced ballet, raced through books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and put on magic shows in a homemade cape. She has taught social studies and English, and worked to instill in her students a passion for books, an enthusiasm for experimenting with words, and a curiosity about the past.

She lives in New Mexico with her husband and two sons.
