Well, it’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

What have I been working on since we last spoke? My work on Good Vibes ended in November, so I haven’t really been employed since then. I have, however, been writing up a storm, and I’m now sitting on three original pilots and two spec scripts for HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, just to be used as writing samples. I found out a month ago that Good Vibes would not be picked up for a second season, and I’m still looking for work. I decided to try to update Eros while looking for work, if only to keep my writing up.

I’ve also been working on a web series with some friends of mine. It’s called “Mermates” and it’s about a man who moves in with a mermaid. He’s an everted mermaid: human on the outside, fish organs on the inside (and is further explained in the first episode, which premieres March 26th).

We’ve been posting two promos a week until the first episode airs, and I’ve embedded them below. Watch them in HD, if you can!

I wrote all the promos and the six episodes, and I’m immensely proud of it. If you wouldn’t mind watching them and, if they make you laugh, please share them on twitter or facebook or tumblr, I’d really appreciate it.

I appreciate everyone leaving comments here and the Facebook fan page regarding the comic. You all have such kind and awesome words, I’m sorry to keep you waiting so long.

Right off at the top, I want to mention that I’m officially closing the Eros Inc. store on January 1st, 2012. Everything in the store is now 50% off, so if there’s something you’ve always had your eye on, now’s the time to get it. Prints are $2.50. Comics are $2.50. Deals deals deal-y deals.

The main reason for closing the store isn’t the official end of the comic, so don’t panic just yet. The truth is that I’m working hard on a career in writing for television, and I don’t really want to worry about this stuff for tax purposes, etc. I will also no longer be making appearances at conventions.

Which leads me to the comic. I started Eros Inc. when I was working as a production assistant for a development company, a job that wasn’t very creative. This was my outlet. I didn’t really want a career in webcomics (though some success I wouldn’t turn away), but I did want practice writing.

As most of you know, I worked as an assistant on Good Vibes for most of 2011, which was the reason I put it on hiatus through most of this year. When I was working on the show, I was pitching jokes and ideas in the writer’s room (as well as setting up calls, printing scripts, proofreading, other menial assistant work) and when I was in that room, I got a taste for what I want to do for the rest of my life. And to be honest, because of that taste, the drive that I had when I started this comic has dissipated. My time at Good Vibes has ended for now (though I am occasionally live-tweeting as Mondo and Woodie on Twitter during the episodes), but I’ve spent my time writing. Applying for jobs. Making connections. Punching up friend’s scripts. Playing Skyrim (okay, forget you read that last part). And I’m satisfied.

I’m not officially putting it on hiatus, nor am I ending it with this comic featuring Obama. I want to try to get some more updates to you guys, or at least fast forward the full twelve episodes I had planned into something more manageable so I can give you guys an ending.

In the meantime, I highly, HIGHLY recommend you watch Good Vibes. Yes, I worked on it, but a bunch of my jokes are scattered throughout, and I actually do a voice or two throughout the season. The show is vulgar and definitely written towards teenage boys for the most part, but there are also an ton of very smart jokes, as well as a ton of heart. It’s clever about it’s vulgarity. And I think you guys would like it. It’s on Thursday at 10:30 on MTV, and a bunch of the episodes are available to watch online now. I tweet the East Coast feed of Beavis and Butthead and Good Vibes, so if you want to have fun interacting with Mondo and Woodie, tweet at me.

Okay, now to more fun stuff. My lovely girlfriend Nan Lawson got me a 3DS as an early christmas present, so it’s my new toy. In it, you can make Miis for the 3DS and Wii, so wouldn’t you know it, I made some Eros Inc. ones. You can now have Mot, Clue and Tomas hang out in your Nintendo device. If you guys like these, maybe I’ll make some more! Oh who am I kidding, of course I’ll make more.

Speaking of links, my friend Bailee draws a webcomic with a friend of hers called “PMS Adventures.” It’s a super-hero comic about ladies who get powers when they’re on their period. It updates five days a month, in a row, around the time Aunt Flo appears (or so I assume). You can catch up here!

Hey everyone!

What’s going on with me lately. Thanks to everyone for the positive words about GOOD VIBES. I’m super excited about it’s premiere! I think you guys will like it.

My girlfriend Nan Lawson is out of town until the end of the month, so I’ve been spending my time writing, playing video games and re-watching AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER, which has become a tradition when Nan goes out of town for long periods of time. I love that show.

My friend Chris Yule and I just finished playing Portal 2 co-op. Holy gods, those last few levels were a brain-f$#k. And that ending! So good. I’m motoring through Zelda: Twilight Princess and it’s pretty good I guess. I feel like I’d be enjoying the experience more if I played it when it first came out, instead of playing all these amazing, new, well-written games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Portal, etc. It’s hard to go back to the thin storytelling and “puzzles” with familiar game play that I’ve experienced a billion times. The ball and chain is fun though.  Next, I’ve got either Assassin’s Creed 2 or Half Life 2 (Orange Box) to work though. We shall see!

I’m going to D23 next weekend, thanks to my awesome friends Eli and Melissa. Very excited to go both days, I’ve got my whole schedule planned. What? I ain’t no nerd, yo.

Some announcements: I will have Eros Inc. prints and originals up at the WE LOVE WEBCOMICS show in San Francisco, at the Double Punch Gallery. I will be in attendance opening night, which this Saturday (August 6th) at 7pm. Can you make it? I’ll be signing comics and prints, as well as bringing some Eros Inc. buttons and such. Work has been insane! We’re finishing up mixes and final edits for our show “GOOD VIBES” which will premiere on MTV October 27th! Pretty exciting! We premiered a new trailer last Friday – take a look below. It’s a little vulgar, but this trailer shows off a lot of the second half of the season, which I’m especially proud of.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of comics lately – my job on Good Vibes has blasted into extreme post-production in the evenings, leaving me little time to do anything else but job stuff. But here is a comic regardless.

Are you going to Comic-con? If so, the show I’ve been working on GOOD VIBES is going to be showing the pilot episode, as well as a panel featuring most of our actors – Adam Brody, Alan Tudyk, Tony Hale, Debi Mazar, as well as Exec. Producers Mike Clements, Tom Brady, David Gordon Green and Brad Ableson. Tom Stack, who writes for EW, will be hosting the panel. It should be a lot of fun and the show looks AMAZING. Don’t miss it! It starts at 6:30 on Saturday.

As for my own schedule, if you’re in Los Angeles this weekend, I’m going to be selling prints and comics at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chinatown! That should be fun. Also, I will have prints and original artwork up in the San Francisco show “WE LOVE WEBCOMICS.” I’ll be at the opening night event August 6th, I hope to see some of you guys there! It’s going to be really awesome.

Hey everyone.

Saw Super 8 over the weekend. It was pretty good! Not as good as the Game of Thrones/ The Killing finale, but still good. We’re also trucking through The Wire and holy balls it’s so good. There is so much great character stuff on top of the cop drama I am so in love. We are midway through Season two – no spoilers please!

What else what else – we’re seeing Super 8 tonight I think, we didn’t see it last weekend due to hating theaters on opening nights. We went to the Tim Burton LACMA exhibit which was, well, Tim Burton-y. Cool and worth doing once.

Are you guys following E3 at all? Man, I’m super excited about some things. Like Bioshock Infinite. That looks crazy awesome. WiiU looks interesting – but much like the 3DS, it’ll be good when GAMES COME OUT FOR IT. New games. Not games I played in the N64. I still have LA Noire, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2 to finish, so the prospect of new games puts fear into my soul and wallet. Thankfully, Bioshock Infinite isn’t coming out till 2012, so I have time to save up.

What else… I saw X-Men: First Class. Dug it! Was super fun. The X-Men movies are weird – they stay in continuity but only when they feel like it.  The cameos were amazing though.  We watched the mid-season finale of Doctor Who and HOLY BALLS. I shall not spoil a thing since this episode technically premieres this Saturday, but MAN. Crazy good. We started watching “The Killing” and we’re pretty addicted! It moves so slowly, but I love the mood of it.

I’ve been wanting to do this comic for awhile, so I hope you guys dig it! If you’re a little lost, go back in time (excuse the awful art) and read the second chapter of Season one. This will make way more sense.

I also have to apologize for the lack of Wednesday’s comic. I really needed to get some writing done, so I just hunkered down and got to work. I was able to finish (and subsequently clean up) a brand new draft of an original spec! Very happy with how it turned out.
