A combination of regular nights and popular events managed to heat things up and get that clubbing feeling back after the summer lull.</p> <p>Hansj&ouml;rg-Frido and Edeltraud-Eva brought a bit of Munich to the ESCB so we could all enjoy Oktoberfest! Many clubbers got into the spirit by dressing up in their Dirndls and lederhosen and even the schlagermusik that rocked the club was a hit. Several Oktoberfesters complained of hangover heads the following day- a sure sign of a good event! Towards the end of October pumpkin carvers filled the club again, with many eager to create scary pumpkins to ward off nasty neighbors. Our creative carvers produced some impressive pieces again this year!</p> <p>We have plenty in store for November and December. The AGM will be held on 11.11.11. Make sure you come along to find out more about how the club is doing, and to have your say on who will be running the place in the year ahead. The admin only lasts around half a hour and the bar will be open as normal throughout. Insert December 16th in your agenda and join the ESCB Christmas party! Mulled wine and Christmas cookies will surely get you into the festive spirit! Bring your friends, family, Santa hats and Elf ears and come celebrate the festive season with us!</p> <p>We are grateful to all our members and friends for their efforts in spreading the word about us! Our member base has grown rapidly over the past year and we have you to thank for that! However, the miserable weather together with our<strong> Cocktail Friday</strong>s did well to lift the summer spirit at the ESCB.</p> <p>Between July and August, each Friday was Cocktail night! The drink of the night depended on the bar keeper, and while some drinks proved more popular than others, our members and guests seemed to enjoy this little injection of summer into the club. Another successful annual<strong> ESCB BBQ</strong> took place at the beginning of August. As usual, it was located in B&uuml;mpliz and even the weather cooperated to make the day great fun for everyone!</p> <p>We have lots in store for the coming months. Frido and Eva will bring <strong>Oktoberfest </strong>to the club on the 7th of October! So, dust off your lederhosen and your sch&ouml;ne Dirndl. For anyone making the effort to dress up for the occasion, make sure you claim your free drink at the bar! The theme of the evening is definitely: &ldquo;beer, wurst, pretzels, fun!&rdquo; Just in time for Halloween, we will be carving scary pumpkins again this year. On Friday 21st of October bring your favorite pumpkin to our <strong>pumpkin carving</strong> event for a radical make-over. This event is great fun and popular every year, so make sure you don&rsquo;t miss out!</p> <p>Looking a little bit further ahead on the horizon, we will hold our <strong>AGM </strong>on the 11th of November. From first time carvers to those with expert carving knowledge don&rsquo;t hesitate to join us, everyone is welcome! Bring all your special tools, or simply a sharp knife and a spoon, as well as any templates or creative ideas you may have. At the end of June, Chris P and Mischa turned the clocks back to the summer of &lsquo;69 with a popular peace &amp; music evening. The compilation of classics rocked the club and ensured it was an enjoyable evening for all. The feedback we received on the Woodstock event was very positive, so we can look forward to a repeat in the future.</p> <p>What do we have up our sleeves during July and August? For those not lucky enough to venture to exotic islands to sip cocktails by the pool, why not just pop down to the club? Between July 15th and the end of August, every Friday night is cocktail night. The drink of the night will depend on your barkeeper, so make sure you come to the club not to miss your favorite tipple! As usual, the annual ESCB BBQ promises to be loads of fun! Over the past two months, with the help of our members and friends, we&rsquo;ve really been getting into the spirit with retro themes and Easter treats and of course, a bit of spring romance...</p> <p>At the end of March we successfully hosted our first ever <strong>70&rsquo;s disco</strong>! Frido provided plenty of groovy tunes for our outrageously dressed disco divas! Our new disco ball was a hit, and it was great fun to see everyone boogying the night away. A fun night, definitely to be repeated in the future! In April, we had you working together to solve the riddles leading to the <strong>Easter surpris</strong>e! The questions were not easy, but in the end, the code was cracked! More importantly, lots of fun was had by everyone and again, we were pleased with the amount of new and old friends we could welcome at the club! Mischa injected a bit of romance into Spring with another successful <strong>movie night</strong>. The chosen film was a love story set in the romantic city of Prague (The Unbearable Lightness of Being) .</p> <p>Summer is just around the corner now! In June we will try to relive the summer of &rsquo;69 with a newly created <strong>Woodstock</strong> compilation. Make sure you come along to enjoy an evening of peace &amp; music with Chris P and Mischa! We also hope to organize some &ldquo;spontaneous&rdquo; outdoor events -- weather permitting-- so make sure you keep checking our web pages for information. And, of course our annual ESCB BBQ is one to look forward to.
