Esha Gupta was original choice for Murder 3

However, Aditi was not the first choice for the film. Esha Gupta of ‘Jannat 2’ fame was originally offered the film. It is also learnt that Esha has signed a contract of three films with ‘Vishesh Films’. After ‘Jannat 2’ she would be doing ‘Raaz 3’.

Citing the reasons for roping in Esha Gupta, a source says, “Esha was the first choice of Bhatts for the film. The reason she didn’t do it is because her favorite writer Shagufta Rafique, who has written both her earlier films, is not writing this one. Also Mahesh Bhatt who has been involved in all the Vishesh films may not be able to mentor this one.”

When Esha was contacted for it, she informed, “I am busy with the dubbing of Raaz 3 and then the film’s promotions will start. Then I have to finish Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh. There was no way I could give hundred percent to Murder 3 and do justice with the role. Why to do something when you know you wouldn’t be able to pull it off. You don’t want to do things halfheartedly”.

Talking to a tabloid Esha said, “It is a de-glam role. I am playing an IPS officer. You will see me in the uniform, it is a different role. When you see the film, you will get to know more about it. I can’t talk much about it.”

The actress says that she has signed the film without even listening to the story of the movie. “(Director) Prakash sir had heard about me, casting director Shruti contacted me and said Prakash sir liked me in the promos and is interested in working with me. I met him and he was really impressed that I knew Hindi,” said Esha.

She added, “We did the reading and he was impressed by my Hindi, as I come from Uttar Pradesh. I still don’t know the whole script, but I heard Prakash sir’s name and jumped on to do it.”

Prakash Jha directs and produces the film whereas Abhay Deol, Kabir Bedi, Arjun Rampal and Kabir Bedi are in the pivotal roles. Slated for a November release, the movie has been filmed in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh.

Esha informs, “We have completed one schedule, it was shot entirely in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The second schedule will also be shot there.”

As of now besides the Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Jannat 2’, she has Prakash Jha’s “Chakravuyh” with Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai in addition to Vikram Bhatt’s “Raaz 3″ with again Emraan Hashmi in her kitty. That is more than enough for her as she says so.

Esha confesses that she couldn’t resist the lure of Bollywood like many others. Though she thought of not picking up acting as her career but ultimately she did so. She found herself attracted to the Indian cinema post her stint in Law College.

Esha puts it, “Now that I’m here, I’m going to make it.”

Esha says, “I have deeply admired Bipasha in “Jism”; I can’t shake of the image of her walking out of the water in a white dress with a chiseled body. But you will have to wait for a sexy me, till someone offers something sexy.”

Even Mahesh Bhatt praises the diva when he says, “What makes Esha unique is that she comes from Delhi, which is the Rajdhani. In this day, age and time, when you don’t find Indian girls in Indian films, Esha’s ethos is very Indian. She knows that sensuality is an essential attribute of the female animal.”

Further he adds, “Unlike most city girls who read a couple of books on feminism and become jean-clad, bra-burning women, Esha celebrates her feminine body and yet her ambition is rooted in real India.”

“I worked with her on “Raaz 3″ because Vikram felt that she had to measure up to the other professionals like Emraan and Bipasha or she will come across as weak. And, I found she has a high emotional quotient and the ability to respond when she is challenged,” she sums up.

Esha Gupta suffered from sprained ankles wearing high heels for the shoot. She was shooting for the film’s promo when she missed a step and ended up with a twisted ankle. As if this was not enough the model turned actress Esha had to shoot for a song for some other venture that very day.

Esha Gupta sprained her ankle during the promo shoot. Initially, Esha ignored it and continued working but she started experiencing pain. Yet she took it in her stride and managed to complete the shoot in her stilettos before slipping into a pair of flats.

By next morning, her ankle had begun swelling up and needed medication. But there was no way she could skip the song shoot as the dates had been fixed much in advance. She reported for the shoot and managed to do the steps resulting in a completely swollen ankle.

Following the injury Esha Gupta was advised bed rest and wear only flat footwear if need be. The beauty pageant winner and the Calendar girl has been keeping low profile till the release of her film. She has been asked to refrain from the media stares as media is anxious that her first look hit the theaters before the actress starts making public appearances.

Interestingly Esha Gupta is said to have replaced the Sri Lankan model Jacqueline Fernandez in Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Jannat 2’ when Jackie moved out of the film citing the issue of doing steamy scenes for the venture at the behest of her beau director Sajid Khan.

A trade analyst informs, “Esha Gupta has just signed Chakravyuh with Prakash Jha which means she has been given the kind of flexibility that perhaps hasn’t been allowed for Sunny Leone. It’s a known fact that Esha Gupta too has a three film contract with Bhatts. It isn’t exclusive though which means she can do films with other production houses as well. However, Sunny doesn’t boast of such freedom because when Ram Gopal Varma expressed his desire to rope her in for a special item number in Department, he had to return empty handed.”

When Ramu couldn’t cast Sunny Leone for the item song of his upcoming movie ‘Department’, he signed the Brazilian model Nathalia Kaur. Ramu was all praises for Kaur after seeing her on screens. He also did not forget to take a dig at the Bhatts then.

“We were trying for Sunny Leone but by God’s grace it didn’t work out or otherwise we would have missed out on Nathalia Kaur. I thank God for that,” exclaimed Ramu.

While Sunny Leone had to satisfy with only one film, Esha moved on and signed ‘Chakravyuh’. An industry expert informs, “Who knows what really happened between Ramu and Bhatts? No one knows for sure whether they actually discussed Sunny’s contract at all or not. In fact much before Sunny’s name cropped up, Ramu was supposed to have already finalised Nathalia. All such talks about contract playing spoilsport may just be helping the PR exercise of both Sunny as well as Nathalia.”

Well, who knows the truth but Esha Gupta must be happy to do Prakash Jha’s film. It is too fortunate for her to share screen space with Abhay Deol and Arjun Rampal post being penciled in for two Bhatt camp films opposite Emraan Hashmi – Jannat 2 and Raaz 3.

But Esha Gupta who has signed a three films contract with Bhatts, has also signed Prakash Jha’s next ‘Chakravyuh’. But how?
A trade source informs, “Esha’s contract isn’t an exclusive one, allowing her to work on other films as well.”

However some deem it as a publicity gimmick to grab attention. “Who really knows what transpired between Ramu and the Bhatts? Maybe they never even discussed Sunny’s contract. All these talks about the contracts playing spoilsport may just be helping the PR exercise of the leading ladies here,” the expert says.

Well, we can say that Esha is just luckier than Sunny in that matter!

Esha Gupta, model turned actress had got a kick start to her Bollywood career when she was approached by the Bhatt’s for ‘Jannat 2’. She is opposite Emraan Hashmi in Jannat 2 and she is happy to be a part of the film.

Apparently Bhatts have finalized Sunny Leone’s name for Jism 2, but they were hunting for another female for the movie. Their search ended on Esha Gupta.

Yes! Esha Gupta would be in the film Jism 2 with Sunny Leone. Esha, the supermodel is more than excited for being part of the two projects from Bhatt camp. She is extremely confident that Mahesh Bhatt would give her meaningful roles in the movies.

When approached by the filmmaker, she readily accepted the offer without any second thoughts.

To make her feel even happier, she was recently made the Brand Ambassador for an international cosmetic line ‘Maybelline’.

Former Miss India International title winner Esha Gupta has bagged herself a role in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Jannat 2”. It was her sensual appeal that won her the lead role and that too over Prachi Desai and Paoli Dam who were already being considered for the film.

According to a source Prachi Desai had already been selected for the role when the film was announced by the producers, Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films. However, they reconsidered the decision as they felt that Prachi did not completely fit the glamorous look that the role in the film demanded.

Clarified the source, “Prachi was not very comfortable with the demands of the role so she spoke to the Bhatts and they mutually agreed to call it off. It was then that Mahesh Bhatt suggested the Bengali actress Paoli Dam for the role.”

However director Kunal Deshmukh was not happy with either of the two actresses and believed that it was Esha Gupta who had the sensual appeal required for the role. He was determined to have her do the role despite the fact that Mahesh Bhatt was interested in casting Paoli Dam in Jannat 2. “Kunal was positive that Esha fit the bill perfectly ever since he saw her, but it was tough trying to persuade Mahesh Bhatt and Fox Star about it,” said the source.

On being queried about it, Deshmukh answered, “I was certainly convinced that Esha Gupta was perfect for the role but it took a lot of convincing to get Bhattsaab and Fox Studios to agree to it, but I am thankful to them to acceding to my request.”

Mahesh Bhatt’s stand on this was that, “I was keen to have Paoli Dam do the role as she had the sexual appeal and the enthusiasm to do what was required of her in the film. She was ready to go all out for it, but Kunal stepped in and explained his viewpoint on the issue. He vindicated that Jannat 2 was not Murder 2. The latter was based more on eroticism and seduction while Jannat 2 is a romance. He reiterated that having Paoli do the role would only send a wrong image to the audience. Since he is the director and we back the director’s vision, I thought it appropriate to gracefully agree to his decision.”

With everything fallen into place and the decision resting in favour of Esha Gupta, the model turned actress has started shooting for Jannat 2 in Delhi this October.
