However, a poorly designed website can actually hurt your business, so when preparing for a redesign, avoid these common mistakes:

Copying your competitors:

Although you want to take a look at what your competitors are doing so you know what you’re up against, your site should be original. You want to stand out as being a step above the competition, rather than copying a competitor’s format or design. As you get inspiration from competitor sites, consider how your business is different and how you can show customers what makes your business a better choice.

Including time-sensitive content:

The main content on your website should be timeless so you don’t have to update it frequently. Save seasonal or time-sensitive content for your blog, where you can add posts on a regular basis to keep visitors up to date on what has been going on at your business. The content on your home page and other main pages should be able to last at least a year without any changes. And make sure you have at least two people proofread content before it goes live – a typo or misspelled word can potentially drive customers away.

Overcomplicating your design:

Your website needs to have a clean and crisp appearance, and there’s nowhere this matters more than on the homepage. When visitors arrive at your site, they need to be able to see the key points at a glance and figure out how to get to the information they’re looking for. Your navigation setup should be intuitive, and ideally, you should not have layers of menus within menus, which makes it difficult to find content.

Neglecting visual design:

Although you have a lot to say, your website shouldn’t be all text. Even when the content is communicating the main message, images complement it and visually break up the text so visitors don’t feel fatigued from reading all of the information. Plus, remember that there are times when a picture can speak a thousand words.

Forgetting about SEO:

People aren’t going to find your new website if you don’t incorporate search engine optimization strategies into the design. This includes putting keywords in the headers and page titles, getting your site indexed on the major search engines and writing your content with keyword phrases in mind. Promoting your site after the launch will also help you get visitors right away.

Designing and launching your new website can improve your volume of sales, but only if your new website is more functional than the old one. You don’t have to be an Internet expert to have a great website – let a company experienced in web design create your site, and listen to recommendations about what kind of content you should include.

As technology is evolving, various fields are getting benefited.

An HD media player has now become a must for each and every household. It’s a great means of entertainment and allows you to bond with your families and friends. The following are some tips that will help you to choose the best HD media player:-

Media Compatibility

It’s very important to ensure that the HD media player that you are buying supports various types of format. Usually the DVD movies, broadcast TV as well as streaming videos does not have 1080p. As having a 1080p resolution won’t enhance the quality of the picture any higher than one that supports only 720p, you must consider the ones that are latest and based on advanced technology like Blu Ray discs, which can support 1080p, thereby providing you real life experience.

Television

Having a brilliant HD media player isn’t enough, as you should have a compatible television too. There is no point in having a 1080p media player when your TV screen can only support 720p. Thus, you must upgrade your television before you purchase a HD media player.

Video on Demand

If price isn’t a major cause of concern for you, then you must buy media players that are ready for the next generation of streaming media. As majority of the online video services including YouTube and Yahoo are already set to roll out video streaming in 1080p resolution. You should buy the one which can be upgraded to the latest technology.

Wired Vs Wireless

This is a personal choice and will also depend on your budget. Usually, the wireless ones are slightly expensive than the wired ones. As HD media player pushes more data, you have to be careful in making your choice.

Storage Capacity

An HD media player isn’t about just playing the videos but also about the additional features that it offers. Blu Ray movies are heavy files and require lots of storage space and thus you must buy a HD media player that has got enough storage space in it. You will find some in market that use networking attached storage and helps to provide more expansion and flexibility.

The above mentioned tips will surely help you to choose the right HD media player for you so that you can enjoy hours and hours of entertainment with your near and dear ones. You will find many such good media players at hdmediaplayer.com.

As was mentioned before, keyword research is the backbone of SEO. And considering the fact that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is essential for getting people to “find you” online, which is where most marketers want to be found, you really can’t afford to be sloppy with this.

But what if you don’t know the first thing about researching keywords? Don’t worry! Many experts all over the web have shared some tips; and we’ve compiled the most basic guidelines for you so you can start you keyword research efforts right now.

Top Tip 1: Be aware of what you can give to your market

Choosing your keywords is almost like choosing your business phone service. You need to look at your existing resources, your potential gains, and an understanding of the costs of using one keyword over another.

This is why the first thing you need to do is to look at the content you already have on hand (or at least, the content you’re planning to release first). What topics do they cover? Can you expand them? How far are you willing and able to expand the scope of those topics? Answering these questions will provide you with the parameters you need to keep your keyword research focused. If you don’t do this, then it’s likely that you’ll become overwhelmed by the sheer number of options you’ll get from the next tip—which, by the way is…

Top Tip 2: Make use of the available free tools

Taking a look at the search engine results of the initial topics and keywords you’ve researched can give you a better sense of how popular the keywords you plan to use are. This is as simple as typing in the keywords on your Google or Bing search bar. Once you do this, you’ll get a basic idea of how many people are using those terms to search for information. You’ll also get a better idea of how many of your COMPETITORS are already successfully using them—so you’ll know how much work you’ll have to put into promoting your content.

Of course, if you want more comprehensive results, it’s always better to make use of some free official keyword research tools; the most logical choices being the search-engine based ones like the Bing Keyword Research Tool and the Google Keyword Research Tool. These have the added bonus of showing you similar, less competitive keywords that you might be able to use.

Top Tip 3: Test for conversions

You may have compiled an awesome set of keywords from your keyword research, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re going to work well for you or your brand. In order to see whether or not this will attract and convert people, you need to get some traffic in to see how people interact with your content.

The best way to do that is to invest in some online advertising. Use Bing AdCenter or Google AdWords to test how your keywords are doing (we’re assuming that you’ve already applied those keywords to your content at this point) in the context of getting people to “buy” the content. If they aren’t buying it, then it either means that you haven’t done the keyword justice in your piece OR people don’t feel that the keywords matched you and your brand.

Bonus Tip: Rinse and Repeat

This is, and always will be, an ongoing process. Search is not an exact science and, because it involves people, search behavior constantly changes. You need to stay on top of that by reviewing your keywords on a fairly regular basis and adjusting your mix as necessary.

Keyword research takes a lot of time and effort, but it’s something you can’t forego if you want major online visibility.

Corporate branding is one way of making your business known and attracting more customers. If you have a brand for your product, people will know about the seller and will cultivate trust towards your products and services.

In order to make your brand attractive and visible to your target market, you need to choose the right and appropriate colors and fonts to symbolize your business. You also need to pick a name that is easy to remember and an image that will set your brand apart from others. Choosing colors and fonts that fit your brand plays a vital role in making your brand image unique. You must carefully plan and layout your projected branding so that it will be easily marketable and recognizable.

The choice of colors and fonts will all depend on your personality and the kind of products and services that you are selling.

Some of the popular colors and their meanings

blue – authority, integrity, peace, loyalty, intelligence

orange – determination, force, success, vitality, productivity

green – growth, nature, optimism, youth, relaxation

red – passion, action, desire, power, love

yellow – happiness, warmth, energy, warning

purple – mystery, wealth, spirituality, royalty, ambition

pink – soft, tender, romantic, cute, delicate, happy, exciting, youthful, spirited, trendy

black – powerful, mystery, elegant, dramatic, strength, expensive

white – pure, clean, simplicity, clarity, airy, innocent, silent

Keep your color choices to a maximum of 2 colors. If your market is for baby clothes, you might opt for light blue and light pink. While if your target are professionals, you may choose dark blue or red.

With regards to the choice of font styles, it also plays an important role in making your brand more unique. After choosing the best name to represent your company, the font styles should also match the products and services being offered, and the type of target customers. Customers must receive what they want so they will keep on coming back to you. Choose fonts that are readable and look modern and stylish. Be consistent with your theme as you develop and create your brand’s image. You may combine serif and sans serif font styles to make it more attractive and pleasing to the eyes. You can also vary the weights and styles of the wordings so that it will not be boring.

Choosing the right colors and image should also be in correlation with your client’s inclinations and character. Be sure to give your customers their needs and know how to enchant them. If you are working with a web designer, you must be able to give a clear picture of how you want your brand to look like because nobody else knows your company better than yourself.

Corporate branding is a very important and useful step in making your brand visible and recognized. Choose the best fonts and colors so that you can represent your company very well, and people will be attracted to use your products and services. Doing this crucial step requires you to undergo a special process, and it will be quicker with the help of web designers. If you are able to formulate and develop a solid brand for your company, it will lead to establishment of trust among customers together with growth, success and profit to your business.

It has fragmented into many small pieces now, which makes it difficult to define.

If you ask people to talk about marketing, they might talk about TV ads, radio ads, social media marketing, or one of the other types of marketing commonly performed today. Nearly every letter of the alphabet can begin a phrase that has “marketing” at the end.

It helps to know your terminology. The most up-to-date terms for marketing include online, social media, inbound or outbound, and brand marketing. If you know any of these types of marketing, you know a small portion of marketing – but there are still dozens of other marketing tactics you might not know about. Here are some common types of marketing today.

Affiliate marketing

Many major brands today rely on affiliate marketing, which allows them to get traffic and customers without expending their own time and efforts. An affiliate promotes their products or services, and whenever someone purchases through the affiliate’s link, the affiliate gets paid. The company benefits from far greater exposure and the affiliate gets immediate income without worrying about the support and development issues that an online store or product developer would have to take care of.

Blackhat marketing

This type of SEO marketing is practiced by certain companies in order to fool the search engines. The aim is to trick search engines into giving them better rankings for certain keywords even if they would not naturally earn these rankings through the quality or quantity of their content. Search engines will eventually discover these tactics and heavily penalize or ban these websites.

Content marketing

Marketing can include article marketing, video marketing, and other types of marketing all focused around content. Content marketing is a useful catch-all term to describe these strategies. In this type of marketing, you produce as much useful, relevant content as possible in various forms so that people will share it with friends, like it, and become engaged with your company or brand. A reputable SEO company can take care of the creation or promotion of your content.

Drip marketing

This form of email marketing is set up through an autoresponder, an email service that sends certain emails to subscribers on specific days. It might deliver a course one day at a time, or a series of alternating content-heavy articles and pitches for paid products. Drip marketing is a hands-off technique when it is set up, but there has to be a signup form online and you need to get traffic to it.

Event marketing

If you’re running an event, you’re practicing event marketing. Some people have moved this online and might hold online conferences, while others still arrange “real life” festivals and seminars. Trade shows are a type of event common in the business world, and seminars can be group-participation events or speaker-led events.

You can continue working your way through the alphabet one letter at a time and come up with types of marketing that follow each letter! If you’re not careful, this can lead to overwhelm, so be sure you have an overall marketing strategy and unifying policies before starting to market your company, product, or service.

Ever wondered why the reader of offline magazine never bothers about the plain white background of the page!

Ever wondered why the reader engrossed in an online article cannot resist his fingers, jumping on to another website midway!

That is because, there is a vast difference in our perception of online and offline content. Rather, it is justified if it is entirely pushed on to the different ways the human brain processes the same content online and offline.

An Unlimited Audience Online:

This cannot be overlooked. On the web, there is a huge audience in search of the respective styles in which they wish to read the content. The attempt must cater the demands of the maximum readers possible, in order to retain them on your page. There are a few points to be considered while writing online, as opposed to the offline:

Specific Subject

The online reader does not care spending hours on the same page, especially because he is exposed to a whole world of wide unlimited web in front of himself. So, be sure to have content in place that can offer him what he was promised as in the headline of the topic. This means, being very precise and to the point. Length of the article should not be a concern while writing online and relevancy is certainly another important factor.

Impressive Theme

Unlike the hard cover book, where the plain white background does not matter, the online article needs to have a supportive theme, that merges well with the content. The most apparent reason may be the variation that an online reader demands from the article, but it is true that the pages with impressive themes work very well in attracting online readers.

Catchy Headlines

The headlines and titles have always been important, no doubt, in making an article turn extraordinary and giving it a stand out standard. In case of offline content, it is an incentive. Imagine an article whose headline does not show up in the relevant searches. Or the one that is amongst thousands of the rest already existing on the web. Does it even stand a chance to get viewed?

There is another reason to this. Sometimes a unique title compels the readers to go ahead and click, just in case there is an equally creative content that they do not want to miss!

Highlighting Key Points:

With a strong content, it can be guaranteed that the reader will find him willing to spare some time reading the article full, but it cannot be guaranteed that whatever he reads will be processed by his brain in entirety. A scientific study reveals that only 20% information of the read length is retained by an average brain, at any point of time, irrespective of the short or the long article.

Considering this, it is an excellent idea to highlight the pieces of information that are valuable and most informative. The complete article must be very informative as a whole, but a few points can still be figured out that prepare an abstract of the entire writing. Another alternative is bullet pointing of the main parts. This way, it is easy to grasp the subject point by point, rather than a huge chunk of information.

Image Insertion for Visual Appeal:

A graph or an image is a proven method of seconding the lengthy paragraphs in an attractive manner. For offline content, this may be an option to choose or ignore, but in case of online content, it is an integral demand, considering the fact that the reader seldom cares going through the entire topic. A graph is a fantastic option for scientific or mathematical propositions. An image may be inserted for a product review. It adds on to the visual mode of the article.

So, the next time you write a topic, visualize the demands of your online audience, and publish- You Will Be Amazed!

A robot is a kind of program or a computer application that is created to perform some specific task. In this post, we will discuss the search engine robots.

As an seo service, you must have heard of these terms very often. A search engine robot or spider is a computer program that is used by search engine to crawl and index a web page. To understand the concept of search engine robots, you must be familiar with the terms crawling and indexing.

Though we will not cover these two terms in this article, but for a general introduction Crawling is a process of reading a web page. As soon as search engines know about a new web page, they send their spiders to crawl i.e., read that web page and that is known as crawling. The second term is indexing. When search engine robots read a web page and find it informative, they add it to their index. A search engine index is a database where all the web pages are stored and processed. Each search engine has its index. A web page can appear in the search index only if it is indexed by the specific search engine.

If we talk about the processing of a web page, it starts with the robots. Search engine robots, by following the links or by any other method come to know about a new web page. Now, as search engines are always hungry for new content and information, robots go to the specific page and read it (Crawl it) to know about the page content. There are many things that a spider takes in consideration while reading a web page. These things include the Meta tags, image alt tags, keyword density, robots.txt file, sitemap, etc. In order to make your web page robots friendly, you must have all these things optimized properly so that crawlers can read it. Once the robot finishes reading the web page, it adds the page (the URL) to its index for further processing. This is the basic mechanism of a web page crawling and indexing by a spider.

Now, it is not always necessary that a crawled page will be indexed. Prior to indexing a page into its database, robots first check the database for an existing similar webpage and if they find that an exact page is already there in their database under different URL, they might consider it a duplicity issue and can take negative action against it. It is better to write only informative and original content as search engines want only new and fresh matter.

There is one another thing named as the Robots.txt file that I had mentioned earlier. A robots.txt file is a text file that is used to prevent the search engine robots from indexing a particular web page or multiple pages. This is the first file that a search engine spider reads on a website. This file tells the spider about the pages that we do not want to be indexed. These pages may include transaction or payment pages (for an ecommerce website), or any other pages. We can make changes in this file by adding or removing the pages.

This is all about search engine robots. It is a very important thing for quality seo services or companies so every person working in this field must be aware of this.

It was before smartphones invaded our life. After that all manufacturers started producing prolonged flat things with huge screens and minimal amount of keys. And today the main purpose of all mobile devices manufacturers is to release the thinnest smartphone with a screen close to the edges.

Does it mean that designers have given up on thinking about anything new? Well, I don’t think so. What designers need is to think differently. Here’re some interesting ideas that can be realized in future smartphones.

Transparent smartphone

Polytron Technologies has already created the first prototype of such smartphone. Most of its part are absolutely transparent. Battery, memory card and some other components are non-transparent, but they could be used as design elements until the researchers from Stanford University find a solution.

The main question about this concept is whether it is really useful. What does this transparent design provide apart from futuristic appearance? How will such a smartphone perform under the bright sun? There’re some thoughts that such a design will be useful for apps that use augmented reality. Is it true or not we shall wait to see.

Backside screen

After smartphones appearance a screen began to occupy the whole front panel. But still there’s a back panel which can also be used. Designers from Yota offered a pretty brave concept: the company has announced a smartphone that has additional e-ink back screen. It can be used both as a main screen (if you need to save the battery during the trip, for example) and as an additional one in order to get some important information. The static picture on such a screen almost doesn’t require any energy so in case your battery is down you see there the last picture that was sown on it (it may also be useful in some situations).

Dual-screen smartphones

Another possibility to add one more screen is to make a folding smartphone. This is what NEC Medias W has tried to do. In a folded position their smartphone resembles the one from Yota with the exception that the back screen is as colorful and sensible to touches as the main one. But the main peculiarity of the model is the possibility to fold both screens into one plane.

It may look unusual but there’re certain advantages of such a concept. For example, on one screen you may see the list of emails in your inbox while on the other one there will be the contents of the selected email. Also, the second screen may be used as a keyboard which will be significantly bigger and more convenient to use than a traditional one.

Right now this device is available only in Japan, and there’s no certainty that it will be released abroad. Nevertheless, this concept is worth paying attention to it as it may be copied by other manufacturers.

A smartphone with projector

Since the technologies allowed creating small projectors, developers try to insert them into smartphones. The most active company in this aspect is Samsung: in 2011 it released W7900 and in 2012 a more known Samsung Galaxy Beam was presented. But neither of these smartphones became really popular with users.

On the one hand, projector in a smartphone is a great feature. You may turn any wall into a cinema screen. But in practice there’re some considerable problems: you need complete darkness to get good picture, still the quality will leave much to be desired, and the question about battery life remains open.

But with the further development of projectors their quality will improve and then this feature may get another life.

Flexible device

Flexible technologies have improved significantly recently. Now it’s not a problem to create a flexible screen and some companies have already begun experimenting. For example, Samsung presented Youm concept device at CES 2013 which can be bent. Another device has a screen that is bent at the edges.

In 2011 Nokia presented Nokia Kinetic, a device where flexible screen has also its own functions as zoom.
