ESRI “Going Green” at Annual User Conference

Continuing its long-standing commitment to being an environmentally responsible organization, this year ESRI is taking several steps to make the User Conference more ecofriendly. For example, the attendee tote bag will be a reusable grocery sack that can be used all year long and organic shirts and hats will be available for purchase in the Spatial Outlet. In addition, conference attendees are being encouraged to carpool to the conference or to outings during the conference using GreenRide, a Web-based application powered by ESRI technology.

Attaching Your Resumé to the Online Application

We have found that a surprising number of candidates do not attach their resumé when completing their online application. You may feel that it isn’t necessary since you’ve included similar information in your personal profile. However, the advantage to attaching your resumé is that it gives you the opportunity to provide us with additional information that you may not be asked for when creating your profile. In addition, recruiters can conduct key word searches on resumés when seeking candidates for a particular position.

Once your resumé is in our database you do not need to re-submit it when applying for positions in the future (unless your information has changed). So be sure to attach it before you hit the “Submit” button!

ESRI Employees Leave Their Cars Behind

One of the things that ESRI employees enjoy so much about living close to campus is that they can walk or ride their bike to work. Nearly 100 employees recently participated in "Ride Your Bike to Work Day," an event started by the League of American Bicyclists. A special display was set up in the ESRI Cafe where employees dropped off pledge cards and received their choice of a mousepad, backpack, or other items. In addition, all participants were entered into a drawing for prizes including a Vons gift card, movie tickets, and Cafe gift cards.
