Architectural study at the Thunderbird Resort

I’m currently with 9 other bloggers having been invited for a two night stay here at Thunderbird Resort, Poro Point, La Union. Of course, they’re hoping to tap new media via blogs as part of their promotions. Initially, I was hesitant of joining but having seen the Santorini inspired architecture, I decided to just join and do some shots. My first article and two images for Smart on the Epic Relay 250 published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, 6 July, at Lifestyle section. CLICK TO READ.

This is my first article that has been published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s top broadsheet!

Printed last 6 July, it is one of two articles that I wrote for Smart when I was commissioned to cover its two teams during the Epic Relay 250 in Subic. I documented them and later wrote two related articles.

Marlon, Epic Relay 250 runner, stretching

At one of the relay points, I was able to take images of Marlon of Team Smart preparing for his turn to run by stretching as part of the Epic Relay 250. This was taken near the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan.

I was covering the Epic Relay 250 race last weekend, a grueling 250 kilometer and almost 30 hours of shooting the runners from one point to another. But really, I was more than inspired to join in this kind of race in the future.

Arvin and Eric are from two teams that I covered for a corporate sponsor and fortunately, both, had awards. It was quite tiring but fun coverage.

My flagellant photo entitled "Nature Fashion" is included in the exhibition

Asian News in Pictures is an exhibition of the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University as part of its 10th anniversary.

The exhibit showcases the diversity of issues confronting Asia and are among the best single and photo stories in the portfolios submitted by students as a final requirement in the Diploma in Photojournalism (DPJ) course.

Here, my Gagamboys work (also published in Asian Currents magazine) and flagellant photo entitled Nature Fashion, part of my A Ritual of Faith series, is included. The exhibit is open to the public from 7 – 30 June 2010 at the MVP Center for Student Leadership (formerly Colayco Hall), Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City, Metro Manila.

My flagellant photo was wrongly credited to another photojournalist.

One thing that sort of disappointed me when I arrived before the opening of the exhibit was seeing one of my prized images wrongly credited to another photojournalist that I immediately called their attention. As a stop gap measure, they covered it with masking tape.Similar Posts:
