Green tea yogo at the cat

I got curious with Coffee Cat after having read many Facebook status message from Cebu bloggers and some local runners who are actually hanging out and coming back and again. The establishment is a Davao based cafe that just opened there branch in Asiatown IT Park in Cebu.

Having visited twice, I do like the frozen yogurt and the cafe’s green tea flavored dessert is highly recommended. Their coffee rum cake is another interesting fare but I just don’t like the feel and taste of the unsweetened chocolate shavings incorporated at the side. Their turnovers are, however, disappointing as the puff pastry is rubbery and it becomes a struggle to slice off a piece.

Interior lighting is just okay and wifi is free. The unusually shaped chairs though are not as comfy as I expected.

I'm just amazed at the lines, curves and spaces of the architecture of the main building.

I looked up the dome and was just surprised to see this view while at the Thunderbird Resort at Poro Point, La Union together with 9 other bloggers. I like the architecture’s simplicity, the white and blue dome as well as the arches and spaces.

Replacement SIM just arrived!

With my phone lost at the LRT the other day, my replacement SIM finally arrived this afternoon. Now, I’m quite relieved that my line is back!

It was a loss alright. Not that I bought that phone but it was memorable as it was the prize for the Best Photoblog in last year’s Philippine Blog Awards. It was beautiful and had an elegance in it.

Unfortunately, with a packed LRT station in Buendia, I never felt that my phone got lost. When I arrived at Central Station, it was already gone.

Was it lost or was it stolen? Either way, it’s gone for good. And so are some of my recent contacts in the last two months that I wasn’t able to backup due to a foulup with my laptop’s bluetooth. Gone too are important calendar events that I’ve set and so are the pictures that I have taken including book covers and some personal stuff.

No, I don’t want to linger on this and worry.

I got my first Team Manila shirt

Finally, I got me a Team Manila shirt!

I missed the freebie before, offered to bloggers via their online store but this time, I said to myself: “get one.”

The shirt was from their SM MOA branch and initially, I wanted the red Barangay Maligaya design but unfortunately, there was no more size that will fit me. I got the next best thing, Lungsod.

It’s comfy, hip and cool.

Time to retire my well worn, well used pair of Pony shoes which I liked very much. Now tattered after two years, this canvass shoes really lasted long. I now have another pair of Ponies

12 days before the national presidential elections and its really time that we solidify our choice. I’ve long realized mine and it is for GIBO. Why? Despite the low rankings in surveys, he is the only one with a clear vision, clear platform and clear solutions. He knows what he is talking about without promising the impossible just to win votes or go down mudslinging.

If you want to be president, you have to want it. You have to be prepared, not being thrust to the limelight because one’s mom died. If you want to be president, you don’t have to consult the sisters and go on retreat. If you want to be president, you have to be credible and not invent and lie about your supposed humble beginnings to win the hearts and minds of people.

This is something that I should watch! The 1st Russian Film Festival in Cebu will be held at Ayala Center featuring classic and contemporary films including one by the great Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky, The Mirror. And the best thing? ITS FREE!

The Russian Film Festival is a major cultural event that brings to the Philippine audience the best of Russian Cinema today as well as real masterpieces from its glorious past.

Presented by Mosfilm Studios in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Film Development Council of the Philippines, Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Ayala Center Cebu and the Philippines-Russia Friendship Society, Inc., the Festival will feature five (5) classical and contemporary films produced by the biggest Russian filmmaker, Mosfilm Studios.

To commemorate this 2010 the 65th anniversary of their victory in the Second World War to which the Soviet Union made tremendous contribution, a photo exhibition will also be mounted for the duration of the festival.

The Russian Film Festival 2010 is one of the biggest events being implemented in preparation for the 35th anniversary on June 2, 2011 of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the republic of the Philippines.

The Festival is offered free to the public on March 26 & 27 at Ayala Onstage on a first-come, first-seated basis up to maximum theater capacity. The Films will have English subtitles.
