Even if you don't need a new pair of shoes (what woman doesn't?!) do grab a moment to have a look in the next LK Bennet window you pass ... if it's before the end of the Diamond Jubilee weekend you'll spot an Esther Coombs original hanging in the window! (It's also featured on their homepage online - check it out at http://www.lkbennett.com/). I'm really pleased with how this commission turned out - hopefully I've captured her essential 'essence' whilst still managing to make the image fresh and modern. However you're planning on spending the bank holidays, I hope you have a fantastic time.

Spring has most definitely sprung these past few days - we have had day after day of beautiful sunshine and even some heat!It makes you start to think there might be a proper summer in store for us all. Before that, of course, we have Easter and what better way to show off your Easter treats than on one of my cake stands. I think this one, 'Countryside', is particularly pretty with its dainty, spring coloured pattern. All it needs is some pastel coloured eggs and cupcakes and you've got a gorgeous centrepiece for your table.

Are you a keen knitter? Would you like to make a personal contribution to this summer's Olympic celebrations? A great group of people I have previously run mentoring workshops for, DAD (Dover Arts Development), are running a project called "Bunting Forever" aiming to make a mile's length of woolly bunting to welcome the arrival of the Olympic torch in Dover on 18 July 2012. Since the project's launch back in July 2011, over one hundred individuals have made thousands of pennants from donated leftover balls of wall or felt from unwanted jumpers etc.

The weather has been so crazy these past few days; we had torrential rain, driving snow and then glorious sunshine all within a few hours of each other at the weekend. It's a miracle that any plant dare peep out from beneath the earth! I thought that you might enjoy seeing some images of the beautiful area where my studio is based in Micheldever, Hampshire. In January our churchyard comes alive with large swathes of dainty snowdrops, which are quickly followed by golden daffodils.

Our "works outing"

We're planning a christmas "works outing" to visit the recently opened Lucian Freud exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery - a little late but better late than never, as they say! It promises to be a great treat with more than 100 paintings gathered from museums and private collections across the world. Here's a very small sample of what's on show ... if you're in London with time to spare before 27 May 2012 then pop along.
