We now list your scouts grouped by patrol.  You also have the option to filter the list by certain patrols.  In addition, you will notice that this page loads much faster.

Merit Badges
When we list merit badges in the app, we make it easy to filter between required and optional merit badges.

We also added the ability to see who has earned a merit badge and who hasn’t.

We have added a new section to the report called Rank Eligibility.  This new section gives you key information on what needs to happen for your scouts to advance.

Key areas:

1. When is the scout eligible for his next rank advancement?
2. How many merit badges are needed for rank advancement?
3. How much more time is needed in a leadership position?
4. How many service hours are still needed?

Here is an example of a First Class Scout who received his last rank on 9/25/2011.

At a quick glance, you will know exactly what is needed to help your scouts advance.  How many times has it happened when a scout slipped under the radar and could have advanced much earlier if you had all the information in front of you.
When parent ask what their scout needs to do to advance, you can refer them to this report.  It gives a clear picture of what needs to be done.

Please note that this new section will only appear for scouts that have earned the First Class rank or higher.

This new feature is easy to use. Our site will prepare the file you need to upload to ScoutNET to eliminate the double entry process. This will save you a ton of time and improve the accuracy of the data recorded.

Join Multiple Troops

Our first change allows you to belong to more than one troop at a time.  We have made it easy to switch between the different troops that you work with.  All you need is an invite from another Troop and then you will be able to easily switch between the two Troops.  LDS Troops can also use this feature to view more than one Ward at a time.  See below for more details.

E-mail address must be unique

All new accounts created on eTrailToEagle.com will use an e-mail address as the username when logging in to our site.  In the past, we had an option to create a username.  We are now going to standardize on using your e-mail address as your username.  You will not be allowed to register an account with an e-mail address that has already been used.  This was common when creating accounts for parents. Many users would use the same e-mail address for both parent accounts.

If you don’t use your e-mail address as your username, don’t worry, we will be asking you to update that very soon.

E-mail Verification

We have made it easier to invite leaders and parents to join you on eTrailToEagle.com.  When you create an account for a new leader or parent, they will receive an invite asking them to verify their e-mail address and then help them create their password.  Prior to this update, passwords were assigned to new users and their e-mail address wasn’t’ verified.

LDS Wards

LDS users will have the option to belong to more than one Ward at a time.  This is useful for those in stake callings.  You can easily follow the progress of each Ward using just one account.  You will not have to have a separate login for each of the Wards you want to follow.

When users would add a new activity that was either a meeting or an outing, the site would ask you for the number of hours. This was a bug and we have now fixed it. When you add an outing or a meeting, you will then be able to record attendance right away.

You can find this report in the Report center under the Activities section.

Now with one glance you can see the progress of the scout as it relates to merit badges.  From this same page, you can quickly change the Date Completed or update the Comments field.  The Comments field can be used to include information regarding the requirements yet to be completed.

In addition we are including the date the merit badge was recorded.  Now you can see which leader made the entry and when they did it.
