Valentine’s Dinner

Evansburg will host a Velentine’s Day Dinner on Saturday February 14th. We will gather at 5pm and eat at 5:30pm. Members should sign up to bring a side dish. Speck’s chicken will be the main course.

We are not a social service agency, but we work to meet needs in the community.

We are not a political party, but we stand for human dignity for all, love and truth.

We are a church. As followers Jesus Christ, and we want to grow together as a community of love and forgiveness. We get together to worship, learn and serve.

Matthew 25 Ministries

Evansburg supports Matthew 25 Ministries. This organization takes used pill bottles, cleans them up and sends them to be used in third world countries to hand out medications. We collect pill bottles from our members and then send them to Matthew 25’s wharehouse in Ohio. Please do not send us your pill bottles. We have enough of our own with which to contend.

Sharing God’s Love in our Community

Hats, Gloves, Mittens and Scarves – These items are being collected for distribution in several areas for men, women or children. A labeled bin is located in the Outreach area.

Coat Drive – On behalf of Tindley Temple United Methodist Church on Broad Street in Philadelphia, we will be collecting winter coats, sweaters, blankets and sweatshirts for men, women and children. As you look through your closets please consider what you may be willing to pass on to a person in need. There is a collection bin located in the Outreach area.

Hospitality—We go into the world in outreach and mission, offering hope through proclamation of the gospel, seeking, welcoming, and gathering as we offer (and receive) hospitality to (and from) those not yet in the body.

Offer Christ — We provide opportunities for people to commit their lives to God through baptism by water and Spirit and profession of faith.

Purpose — We nurture people in Christian living to help them find a true sense of purpose in life, learning what it means to live out their beliefs through acts of piety and acts of mercy, Christian conferencing, regular participation in the sacrament of Holy Communion, and other means of grace.

Engagement – Through engagement, we again offer and receive hospitality.
