By Kyle Orland

A recent Kotaku post cites "one reliable industry source" to suggest that the still-unannounced successor to Microsoft's Xbox 360 will somehow prevent used games from being played on the system. The idea remains an unconfirmed rumor, of course, but it's something that members of the game industry have floated repeatedly in the past. It's also a move that would likely find hefty support from publishers looking for a way to stop what they see as erosion of their profits thanks to used games (the reality is a bit more complicated than that, but we won't rehash that old argument here).

The renewed debate got us wondering, though: how might such a used-game prevention system actually work on a technical level?

Kill the disc

The simplest way to stop used game sales, obviously, is to prevent people from having a physical game to sell in the first place. That would mean a purely online marketplace for the next Xbox, building on top of the substantial groundwork laid by the current Xbox Live Marketplace—which already sells a wide selection of full retail games. In the aggregate, Marketplace customers don't seem to mind that they can't resell their purchases (the added convenience and generally lower prices compared to retail might have something to do with this).

But eliminating retail games entirely would totally lock out the substantial minority of Xbox owners that still don't have broadband Internet access at home—a 2010 study estimated that 27 percent of Xbox owners fell into this group. And even those with slower broadband connections might not enjoy being forced to spend hours or even days clogging up their pipes to download gigabytes of game data.

All hail the kiosk

Microsoft could also prevent used game sales while continuing to offer games at retail, but such a move would likely require an entirely new system of distributing those discs. Picture this: instead of a wall of "Xbox Next" discs towering over you at your local retailer, you're instead confronted with a line of interactive, touch-screen kiosks. Once you've browsed the selection and decided on a purchase, you insert a digital key cartridge that came with your system.

The kiosk then gets to work burning you a unique copy of your game on disc, encrypted to run only when that key cartridge is in the system. Using a portable, physical key has the added benefit of allowing players to take their games over to a friend's house, and the ability to continue playing their games if their original system breaks down. Such a kiosk could even print an instruction booklet and a disc case cover, for those dead-enders who are still wedded to their old ideas about what a retail game should include.

Sound crazy? Microsoft is already testing a similar, burn-on-demand strategy with Windows software kiosks in its Microsoft Stores, so adding a bit of digital-key-based encryption to the mix would seemingly be relatively simple. Actually implementing this kind of top-to-bottom change in the way Xbox game discs are distributed would be harder, but it would provide fringe benefits by revolutionizing the supply chain management for Microsoft and its publishers.

The up-front costs to manufacture and install thousands of these kiosks would be substantial, but in exchange publishers will never again have to coordinate the complicated, worlwide rollout of millions of individual discs to far-flung retail locations — just upload the code to the kiosk network when it's ready. Retailers would likewise no longer have to worry about ordering too many or too few of a specific game at launch, since the system's entire library could theoretically be available for on-demand burning from a few massive hard drives in the back room.

Build it into the disc

If messing with the entire video game supply chain seems too onerous, Microsoft could embed an anti-used-game solution into the physical medium itself. While rumor has it that the next Xbox will support Blu-ray discs (a possibility made a bit less likely because of Sony's financial ties to the format), the system could easily sport an entirely new, proprietary disc format designed by Microsoft.

Not only would the new format be theoretically harder to pirate, but the addition of a small, one-time-writable section on the disc would allow each new purchase to be "branded" with a unique personal identifier the first time it's loaded (this could easily tie in with the kind of physical key described above). Some sort of proprietary flash memory cartridge for retail games could work in a similar fashion, though such mass storage is unlikely to be cost-competitive with high-capacity discs for a while yet.

An entirely new format for physical game media would likely increase Microsoft's manufacturing costs, preventing the company from using off-the-shelf disc drives in the hardware or mass-produced disc standards for the software. Still, those costs might be worth it if they gave Microsoft the ability to say to publishers that its system is the only one where every game people play is one they had to buy new, straight from the publisher.

The endgame

All of these potential used-game-blocking methods would probably just be transitional, in any case. By the time the follow-up to the next Xbox is ready, a persistent, high-speed internet connection could easily be as common in the developed world as a land-based phone line was 30 years ago. At that point, the only thing stopping a console maker from tying each and every purchase to a unique user for all time is the potential player outrage over such a move.

Then again, if it meant never having to go to a GameStop again, players might consider it a fair trade..

It's not an insult to Konami to say that the financial performance of the firm were to say the least disappointing in recent years. The gradual decline of its flagship series - can think in PES - is obviously much. However, it is important to note that 2011 appears to have been profitable for the Japanese publisher, which is slowly head. To confirm this return to form and begin the renewal of a catalog a bit older, Konami NeverDead account, the game developed by the British Rebellion (last vs. Aliens. Predator) and produced by Shinta Nojiri, who has worked on such many Metal Gear Solid.

Demon Hunter talented Bryce was about his spirit and his imprudence when he's gone to challenge the most formidable monsters. If he could know in advance the consequences of his actions, he would also probably not engaged in combat. Still, the battle against the demon king was unsuccessful. We can even say that it turned to disaster. In the confrontation, our hero has lost his wife but also hope to forget this terrible fate. Indeed, cursed by his opponent, he finds himself a prisoner of his own body. Here he is immortal. The history of NeverDead begins 500 years after the tragedy. Bryce is now a member of the NADA, the National Agency to Fight against the demons. He thus continues his work but by demonstrating an incredible nonchalance. The very notion of motivation seems to be completely foreign. He wanders more than he saw. It must be said that he can die in any case. Which prevents it from feeling fear and to understand logically the danger coming before him. What irritating teammate, Arcadia, it is likely her skin every second in this terrifying world. The two protagonists are so constantly swinging pikes, thus clearly showing the difference in their character and point of view. A real work of the dialogue was provided for that humor is omnipresent. The self-deprecating shown by Bryce is a treat.

If the history of NeverDead based completely on the shoulders of the main character, so does the gameplay . Through a view in the third person very classic, the player controls Bryce (and only him), our friend demon hunter who fears nothing and nobody. Exactly, all the game mechanics based on the immortality of the latter. In this capacity developed in Britain in Rebellion, you should not consider as usual. Forget the old reflexes of other action games. Here, you do not try to hide to avoid the attacks of an enemy. Consciously, you can even darken on him to make you happily kill. Whatever is said, Bryce can not die. Never. However, his body is often found in pieces. It may lose its independent arms, legs and ... his head. If this happens, the camera focuses on the latter, as you continue to monitor through the level. However, it is sufficient to drive on the missing parts of your character, scattered around a room, so that it regains its normal appearance. The game takes on the appearance of a Katamari gore. If we wait long enough, Bryce can also reconstruct the whole body instantly.

Obviously, Rebellion and Konami have sought to exploit this concept to the fullest. Thus, for example, Bryce must consciously put your hands in power supplies to see his body split into several parts. With a single head, he can squeeze through very narrow air ducts and reach places inaccessible without this little manipulation somewhat bloody. As to fighting, you will also get experience points that allow you to buy skills. Some of them provide access to special techniques. Bryce may, for example off one of his arms and then use it as an explosive. A strategy that can be particularly effective against demons most animals. Those who rush without thinking about your arms to Becta. The suite is easy to imagine. This immortality is Bryce in different situations, all very strange. It can ignite his body in contact with a source of intense heat. Allowing it to fire bullets directly burning consuming the enemies as they pass through their bodies. Obviously, we could see a few of the possibilities imagined by Shinta Nojiri and its teams. But we feel that the powers of reflection on the character has been pushed far enough.

If we put aside all these mechanical rotating about the impossibility of dying, we are faced with a GST a bit more mundane. Necessarily. Bryce uses including two guns (other weapons will be available later), one in each hand and a sword to get rid of his opponents. The fighting proved so much more classic, despite the possibility of destroying some elements of the decor. Pull a tottering wall or ceiling a little crumbly can destroy the demons in a split second. Overall, these monsters have not seemed especially bright. They attack frontally hoping you shred, which you arrange most of the time. An IA limited that night so the game is not inherently would however like Arcadia, which often accompany you during your adventures, be it a little smarter. If she is often effective, it also has tendency to jump into the lion's den without trying to understand. This poses a major problem since his death means game over live. Yes, if Bryce can succumb to the injuries inflicted upon, it is not the case with other players. So, when the life of the beautiful is in danger, it is imperative to rush to help or care if the situation is more serious. The alternative of game over is the main character. Certainly, his death is not known but the monster baby ground will however be happy to swallow his head if it wanders with impunity on the ground. Bryce will end up at infinity then digested by this vile creature on short legs. It will consider this risk when our avatar is in pieces.

Next up, we said, you can buy skills through the experience gained during the fighting. There are 70 different. They can be related to the use of body parts Bryce, or not (sprint faster, increase the efficiency of the sword, can temporarily switch the game on bullet time ...). The problem that arises is very fast due to the fact that each jurisdiction takes a different number of slots based on their effectiveness and that you only have 10 slots at the start of the game (16 at the end). We must therefore choose according to what interests us and forge his style of play and respect to the structure of levels, remains unclear at this time. The first table asks you to clean up in an asylum. Basically, kill enemies, some mechanisms to activate and trigger the following scripts as you go. It is hoped a little variety in the situations in the future. We know, however, already the game has a relatively rich content with a good dose of the multi key. 4 cooperation and competition will be the end of the game, again with the possibility to use most of the skills solo. Note that even when the image of the bullet time , some will obviously be banned.

Visually nice, but not Demonic either (not very clean textures in particular), however NeverDead has a pleasant ambience. We appreciate the sarcasm of Bryce, the contrast with the seriousness of his partner but the gore of all casual. Despite the fact that it was developed by Rebellion, one feels that the project is led by a Japanese. Unfortunately, a particularly negative could come to spoil the party. It concerns the handling of Bryce. Joystick in hand, the control is particularly laborious, at least when his body is intact. Excessive rigidity in movement that could really pose many problems on arrival in the fighting. Hopefully this is resolved by the game's release, scheduled for early 2012, without elaborating.

Hard to miss the phenomenon of Thrones. The romantic saga (A Song of Ice and Fire by VO) born from the fertile imagination of George RR Martin is more than ever in the heart of the news. If the books quietly continue their journey started pretty in 1996, especially the emergence last year of the TV series adapting the first of five volumes published so far (in the U.S. at least), which has a huge spotlight on this major work. To drive the point home, Cyanide in turn tries to impose the license on the video game market. After a relatively engaging RTS developed by its Canadian subsidiary, the French studio the day we deliver early 2012 an ambitious RPG. Winter is coming to paraphrase another.

Contrary to the timing of release of Game of Thrones game suggests, the interest of Cyanide in the work of Martin is not new. Far from it. By his own admission, the French studio has even fought from 2003 to 2009 to get the right to adjust the various novels in video games. And this time, developers have Ile enjoy. So that's nearly three years that the production of RPG Game of Thrones began. Of course, before starting the development of the game, the first step was to write a script that takes the road. And to refine the details for all fits perfectly with the novels. A long process validated by George RR Martin himself. A great sign of loyalty. By agreement with the author, Cyanide has not taken directly from the history books. Nor of the HBO series signed course since it only came to dance very recently. This RPG is, therefore, be a spin-off takes place simultaneously with the first two novels of the French edition.

The script tells the story of two characters: jaws and Aleste. The first is a veteran of the Night's Watch, which he joined for more than 15 years after disobeying Tywin Lannister. The second is a Red Priest returning to his family - he left behind fifteen years ago as well - after he learned of the death of his father. These two heroes are given a difficult task, means for them to slow descent into hell. This sauce Game of Thrones RPG is divided into chapters, so television series, and after alternately Mors Aleste until the fate of these non-intersecting. This writing fragmented should allow players to attend many twists and turns while breaking fatigue that can plague the control of a single character. From what we saw, we can at least be assured that the atmosphere of Thrones will be at the rendezvous. To summarize crudely, you should expect an explosive cocktail containing violence, sex, political intrigue and conspiracies of all kinds. All in a medieval fantasy black highly immersive. Finally, note that contrary to what was originally planned, Cyanide had to edit the title on late to incorporate elements of the television series since a contract was signed with HBO. This means the remodeling of some environments, the modeling of the face of the actors whose characters are involved in the game (Cersei Lannister in particular) and the integration of music in the series with the main theme.

Although the acronym RPG has disappeared from the title of the game, Game of Thrones is indeed a role play. Early in the game, he is establishing itself as such. If the backgrounds of the two heroes will remain fixed, the player must touch their statistics (attack, agility ...) and define their character traits, whether positive or negative (allergy, fear of fire before ...), to go on an adventure. He must also choose one of three available classes, different for each of the protagonists. For Aleste, it will be Water Dancer or Ranger or Spellsword. This gives you access to a first skill tree. A second is released at 7 (there are 15 in all), after you have made a crucial choice. One to specialize in your current class or opt for an additional second class. A total of three trees you will even manage to be quite complete. The last concerns the special ability of each of the two heroes. Jaws can indeed transfer his mind into an animal. In this case, a dog. As Red Priest, Aleste mania fire him. Via the third tree, you can upgrade the skills associated with these specific skills. Next progression system, Cyanide has seen the big picture.

To set the gameplay of Game of Thrones, the French studio speaks of strategic linear RPG. With these qualifiers, you must really understand that this RPG is fully scripted. Down to the side quests. It also means that your freedom is relatively small since the game requires you to follow the story of two heroes, alternating each chapter. Otherwise, it is still free to come and go in closed environments but large enough to solve quests and primary or secondary. A map of the world can join the various places of the game that too, Game of Thrones appears linear. But if this word often takes the form of a complaint, we can not say it's a negative here. Certainly, the path is traced, but many of our choices will change anyway the course of the adventure. A decision may affect 30 hours later according to the developers. If unfortunately you crumple a minor character in the first few chapters, it could return the favor when you request help. And in an unexpected way! Cyanide has a wheel and dialogues, as in a lot of RPG modern. If some responses will only serve to steer the conversation, others will therefore have a real influence in the future. Where the studio stands out from most of its competitors is that it was fun not to highlight the answers that could be important. No color code example has been used. The interface does not provide evidence, forcing the player to remain alert.

In the fighting, Game of Thrones is dynamic. Everything happens in real time with the possibility at any time using the famous active break. The confrontation then passes slowly, leaving you time to determine the actions that will make each member of your team via a radial menu on consoles and a different interface on the PC but still mysterious. It is possible to choose the next three special abilities that will launch his characters. Be careful because these consume energy. A gauge lets you know at any time where you are. The most picky of you have noticed that we discussed above team. Allies join you in effect temporarily throughout the adventure. Before, probably, to die, as in the novels of Martin. In the case of jaws, the dog can also be used to attack enemies. But it also has another purpose. At any time, it is possible to transfer his spirit into our little dog, very ugly appearance in the process. This allows, via a classic first person view, to play the infiltration. To sneak into the corridors without being detected. Consequence: we can eliminate the enemies quietly putting themselves in their backs and their jumping suddenly face to extract the carotid artery. A performance that makes her little effect. If on the other hand, your opponents perceive you before you to sort them out, one good blow of savate you back fifty yards away. Time to reconsider your strategy of attack, which was obviously poor. This dog definitely essential to our growth, may also follow a scent. This allows particularly easy to solve certain puzzles. The special power of Aleste is it a bit more discreet since he can use his vision R'hllor to reveal secret passages and hidden objects.

There’ll be maybe hundreds of video games planned to be released in February for North America, however, only a handful of them have been confirmed. Xbox 360 plays a very special place in the hearts of the Americans that’s why Sony’s PlayStation is always on the second place outside Japan and UK.

For American Xbox gamers, here is a list of confirmed video games scheduled for launch in February

Two Worlds II: Pirates of the Flying Fortress – this is the second iteration of the popular Two Worlds franchise developed by Reality Pump. It’s scheduled for launch on February 3rd under TopWare Interactive. It’s first episode, Two Worlds, was critically acclaimed with almost all gaming communities gave good reviews and high ratings.

The Darkness II – the first episode seemed to have left gamers hanging with its almost unfinished story, now we know why it happened like that. This second iteration will continue what Jackie Estacado has been started. Digital Extremes continued the development and it will be released under 2K Games on February 7th.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – this game seems to be promising as it combines third person combat with deeper exploration. The characters were developed immensely to catch gamers’ attention. Big Huge Games, the developer, could just make this game a hit. Electronic Arts will be the one to release this game on February 7.

Zumba Fitness Rush – what do you exactly expect from a fitness game? Well, for this you can expect 40 new cool soundtracks and hot choreography. It’s scheduled to launch on February 13th by Majesco Games.

UFC Undisputed 3 – perhaps, it could be the best in the UFC Undisputed series. Being the best-selling MMA video game really means a lot to Yukie’s Osaka that this iteration will simply add the things lacking in the first two iterations. It will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 14th.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 – this could just another hit for EA Sports. Grand Slam Tennis series is actually the most preferred tennis video games in the world because of its realistic properties. So, it’s safe to say that what you’ve experienced in the first iteration, you can double it for this release. It’s slotted for February 14th release.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend – scheduled on February 14, this game uses the classic 2D platforming which may be just appropriate for yet untested game. Arc System Works, however, has a history of developing really good games so it may be worth a try.

Syndicate – it’s not another Yakuza or Mafia game but the theme may be similar as you will be brought to an underground community without government where you will struggle to survive. It may just become a big break for Starbreeze and it will be published by Electronic Arts on February 21st.

Sledge Hammer – this game is developed by Maximum Family Games and it is just about crashing, bumping and slamming. Yes, if you’re good in doing those things then you could be a champion in this game. It is set to launch on February 21.

Outdoors Unlimited – it’s never another skateboarding or skiing game. Ironically, it’s about fishing, hunting and camping being made possible by role-playing game system. Mastiff is responsible for this game. It’s for February 21st release.

Heavy Fire: Afghanistan – when you read the title, what do you expect? Yes, it’s war and violence. But it may be worth a try to see if it’s faithful to the reality of what really happened in Afghanistan. Mastiff will release it on February 21.

Asura’s Wrath – CyberConnect2 goes fantasy. This game is about a god betrayed by his fellow gods, now he seeks revenge and that he will do with your help. Capcom publishes this game and scheduled it for release on February 21st.

Binary Domain – it is a futuristic game and you will be put in the middle of human-robot battle in 2080; the place will be Tokyo, Japan. But it’s no surprise as this game is developed and published by Sega and scheduled for launch on February 28th.

There could be more games to be released next month but as of now, these are the only games that have been confirmed with information available over the internet.

Minecraft could be first game to receive constant, quick updates on Xbox 360

Minecraft for Xbox 360 could spark some changes in the Xbox LIVE Arcade update process. Anybody who has played Minecraft for PC is probably aware of the fact that the game gets updated often, at least more often then the typical Xbox 360 game. So obviously when the Minecraft port comes to Xbox 360 something has to bend. Will it be Minecraft or Microsoft?

According to chief technology officer at 4J Studios Paddy Burns, the developer handling the XBLA port of Minecraft, it looks like it will be Microsoft changing their ways as Minecraft could be the first Xbox 360 game to do "constant updates".

"Microsoft knows that to do a similar thing that's on PC where they constantly update it, that's a very difficult thing to do on Xbox because you have to go through the full tests," Burns told Edge. "But they are quite keen to move towards that - they do see it as the future, so I think we might be the first to do constant updates."

The plan for Minecraft, Burns said, is to release a conversion of the PC's beta 1.6.6 version and then continually release updates to eventually catch up with version 1.0, the official "final" release of Minecraft on PC. Of course, that would require a more streamlined, quicker certification process - something Microsoft is not known for.

While the approval process could speed up, Burns warned that users shouldn't expect the Xbox 360 version to receive updates as frequently as its PC counterpart.

"I don't think it'll ever come to that," he said, when asked if 4J would be releasing updates on its own terms.
"I think that there will always be Microsoft testing involved.

"But the whole turnaround of that testing they're hoping to speed up, so we can maybe roll out very two months. We'll have to see how that goes … I'm really looking forward to it being updated with patches and new features after it's released."

As for the release date of the XBLA version of Minecraft, Mojang's Daniel Kaplan revealed, "Microsoft has said late winter, and I have to say the same. Late winter or early spring, something like that."

By Patrick Miller, PCWorld

The Xbox 360 is big for Microsoft this year, but it might not be so big for the devoted fans.

Microsoft sure reaped the rewards of the Xbox 360 and Kinect's success over the past year, and they're showing it off in a big way at CES 2012. However, very little of the Xbox buzz coming from Microsoft has to do with games. 2012 might very well be the Year of the Xbox 360, but not for many of the gamers that brought it so far.

Xbox 360: Your New Streaming Media Set-Top Box

Streaming media isn't anything new for the Xbox, of course--it was one of the first ways to stream Netflix Instant onto a TV without using a PC. However, Microsoft is doubling down on streaming media this year, aiming to have 100 streaming apps by the end of 2012. That's not 100 dinky Android apps, either--each app requires Microsoft to partner with the content provider to make sure that Xbox users are getting the best experience possible.

It hasn't gotten off to a great start. The highly hyped Microsoft/Ultimate Fighting Championship partnership, for example, started with a whimper when Microsoft promised free UFC streams via the new UFC Xbox Live app for the December 30th Overeem vs. Lesnar fight card, and failed to deliver minutes after the fights had already started. But Microsoft is learning from this experience, and I have no doubt that whatever streaming services they do add over the next year will be every bit as solid as its Netflix streaming currently is.

But what gives the Xbox 360 the edge over, say, the Roku, or a solid Google TV device? To start, you're more likely to already own the Xbox 360 than another set-top box or Internet-connected Blu-ray player, and the comparatively massive installed base of Xbox 360s undoubtedly makes Microsoft a prime partner for the various streaming media providers out there.

More importantly, however, the combination of Bing and Kinect give the Xbox 360 the exact Smart TV experience that Samsung and LG are shooting for in their new 2012 TVs. By now, everyone knows that the classic TV remote simply doesn't cut it in an Internet TV world. Why pay $2000 for a high-end Samsung Smart TV when you can get a good media selection and voice/gesture controls with a game console and an additional peripheral you probably already have? Considering Microsoft designed the Kinect technology that everyone at CES is trying to imitate, it's hard to bet against them in this one.

So what does this mean for gamers? Microsoft reported a 140% year-over-year increase in streaming media consumption on the Xbox 360 between 2010 and 2011, so there's no doubt that the existing owners are enjoying it. But it certainly doesn't seem like Microsoft is making any efforts to drive the development of Kinect-only titles that speak to their core gaming user base.

Kinect for Windows: Not for Consumers

When Steve Ballmer announced that Microsoft will sell Kinect for Windows for $250, it caused quite a stir--why charge an extra $100 for what is essentially the same product?

As it turns out, there's a pretty good reason for that--the Kinect for Windows isn't really meant for consumers in the first place. After all, there's not really a whole lot you could use it with in Windows, anyway.'

Instead, it's for the companies out there who want to use the Kinect to develop their own applications--for business, medicine, education, and so on--without having to wade through the community-made, open source SDK which doesn't fully support all of the Kinect's functions. The $250 price tag essentially covers the cost of the unit itself, plus more detailed tech support meant for enterprise purposes, and the official Microsoft SDK. This is great for making the world more like Minority Report, but it's not so great for making a Kinect game that doesn't involve Sesame Street or dancing.

Don't Expect a New Xbox Any Time Soon

There's no doubt that the existing generation of game consoles are starting to lag behind the PC. Blockbuster titles like Skyrim or Battlefield 3 simply don't look as good or play as well on an Xbox 360 as they can on even a lower-end gaming PC--and when you consider the high-end niche gamer who wants to mod their games, crank up the settings, or even live-stream their sessions via Twitch.TV or other video streaming sites, there's simply no contest.

However, that doesn't stop Skyrim or any other triple-A title from selling like crazy--which means that Microsoft has no incentive to come out with a next-generation console any time soon. And while PC gaming seems to be making a comeback, there's no question that many gamers out there are happy with what their Xbox does.

That's not hard to understand. Research and development on a new console is expensive, and when you're able to extend the viable lifespan of your console by turning it into a media-streaming set-top box with a cool user interface without charging your users extra for the privilege, it seems like a win-win scenario.

The dedicated gamers out there, on the other hand, may notice that their Xbox just gathers dust while they stick to their PC for the latest and greatest--except for when they want to watch Hulu on their HDTV.
By Marc Saltzman, Special for USA TODAY

The last year saw the debut of extraordinary games, from "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," "Batman: Arkham City" and "Portal 2" to "Battlefield 3," "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3."

If it's possible, the next 12 months promise to be even hotter.

If you're into sequels, here's a quick glance at some of the most anticipated blockbusters of 2012. Look for launches of high-profile console and PC titles, the continued boom of mobile and casual games or more mainstream adoption of indie hits like "Minecraft":

Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar Games has confirmed its development studio Rockstar North is hard at work on "Grand Theft Auto V," the next chapter in the best-selling, open-world criminal adventure series. The game will take place in the fictional city of Los Santos — the Los Angeles-like urban playground first introduced in 2004's "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" — as well as surrounding suburbs, beaches and countryside. Little is known about the story other than "the pursuit of the almighty dollar," but it will likely offer non-linear, mission-based "sandbox" play, memorable characters, online multiplayer and great music. No launch date has been announced for this multi-platform title.

Mass Effect 3

Continuing the award-winning space saga, "Mass Effect 3" from EA/BioWare will debut on three platforms simultaneously for the first time —Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PC — by March 6. The third and final game in the series looks to be the biggest and most ambitious action role-playing game (RPG) in the trilogy, with intense tactical action, three distinct game modes and stunning set pieces (including locations on Earth and Mars). Once again you'll climb into the boots of Commander Shepard, determined to protect civilizations from the deadly Reapers by unifying planets from all corners of the galaxy. Players with saved files from previous "Mass Effect" games will have the option to import their characters into "Mass Effect 3."

BioShock Infinite

Unlike its predecessors, you're not trapped in the underwater city of Rapture. Instead, the wildly imaginative "BioShock Infinite" from 2K Games takes place on a floating air city in an alternate 1912, as you attempt to rescue a mysterious young woman with uncontrollable powers. The stunningly detailed world, memorable characters and cinematic action sequences — including the ability to engage in first-person firefights and hop on a rollercoaster-like rail system to get around (often at the same time) — all add to the unique gaming experience. The single-player adventure is slated for a June launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and PCs.

Diablo III

Blizzard Entertainment's much-hyped sequel is an action-heavy fantasy RPG. Similar to its best-selling forerunners, this computer game (for PCs and Macs) will be played from an angled top-down ("isometric") perspective, in the dark world of Sanctuary, as you flex your mouse-clicking finger to hack, slash and wield magic against a number of dungeon-crawling foes. The game will offer an expansive single-player campaign (with a random level generator to enhance replayability) as well as deep multiplayer support via Blizzard's Battle.net service. While unconfirmed, the game is expected to launch sometime early in 2012.

Halo 4

Due out by the end of 2012 for Xbox 360, "Halo 4" from 343 Industries and Microsoft Game Studios marks the return of John-117 ("Master Chief") — a protagonist not playable since 2007's "Halo 3." Said to be the first of a new trilogy, "Halo 4" will take place quite some time after the events of "Halo 3." Once again it will be a first-person sci-fi shooter (but with a greater emphasis on mystery and exploration), along with multiple weapons, items and vehicles and varied multiplayer maps and modes. While the game will see the return of familiar areas and characters (such as Cortana), it will introduce new worlds, plotlines and foes.

Other games to watch for in 2012 include: "Max Payne 3," "The Last Guardian," "Far Cry 3," "Overstrike," " Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier," "Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City" and the return of "Twisted Metal," "SSX" and "Tomb Raider."

Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 were among the top downloads for various PC and game consoles during 2011.

Now that 2011 is in the rearview mirror, there’s been time to evaluate the year that was and see which projects generated the most buzz in a variety of markets — and that includes the illegally downloaded game market.

TorrentFreak has released a report of the most pirated games of 2011, and Crysis 2 tops the chart with an estimated 3.92 million downloads. Activision’s record-breaking military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 comes in a close second with 3.65 million downloads, and its chief competitor, Battlefield 3 hits the chart in third place with 3.51 million downloads.

FIFA 12 and Portal 2 round out the top five downloaded games of the year.

Downloaded games for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii occupied a much smaller — though still substantial — portion of the year’s pirated game charts, with Gears of War 3 taking the top spot with 890,000 downloads. Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 once again came in second and third, with 830,000 downloads and 760,000 downloads, respectively.

The Nintendo Wii was a much more attractive system for game downloaders compared to the Xbox 360, as the top spot in the Wii charts was held by Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was the subject of an estimated 1.28 million downloads. Mario Sports Mix came in second with 1.09 million downloads.

Excluded from the charts are any titles for the PlayStation 3, which receives significantly less downloads than the aforementioned systems.

What to do after you Download Xbox 360 Games? Okay. At this point your basicly confused as you could ever be wondering what to do after your download xbox 360 games. You have a big pile of rar files and no idea what to do with them, right? Dont worry Ill explain the process in more detail to help you along. Well to get started your going to need some basic software to get the process done.

So first thing you need to do with your download xbox 360 games rar or zip files is extract them, to do this your going to need winrar.

After you download xbox 360 games always use WINRAR to extract them

The download xbox 360 games files you have will first come in the form of one big file, so check the size of the file and if it isnt at least 4 gigabytes them you screwed up somewhere with an incomplete download xbox 360 games. Simply double click the file and it will open up in the winrar window, showing all the rar files inside. DONT click on any of them, as they are inside the archive at this point you will give yourself and error. EXTRACT the entire contents to a new folder somewhere on your desktop. Once its completed, close out of winrar and navigate to your desktop. On your desktop you will have the folder where you extracted the downloaded xbox 360 game files to. Open it up and you will see somewhere in the range of 50-70 rar files. If your seeing this, then so far so good.

Next you want to open the first .rar file – it will be noted this by the extension, if you cannot see the extension then go into control panel, folder options, and check the box to view extensions and hidden files or any other goodies you want to see. (if you dont see .rar, you may see .001, choose either) It will open up the entire archive – all 60-70 rar files and inside will show the .iso and .dvd files, sometimes it may show a folder and sometimes it may show just the iso file, if so thats fine. Extract again to your desktop into the final folder for your new game to be placed in. Once completed you can delete all other files. Ok now your half way there with your download xbox 360 games..

The next part of the technique is to ensure your xbox 360 game download is patched properly for live play. I included a video to demonstrate the extraction process in more detail below.

Once your games are extracted and ready to burn you must stealth patch your download xbox 360 games to be safe Dont skip this step – coming in next post for non members, members see advanced techniques, Stealth Patch Xbox 360 Games.

What are you waiting for? Download Xbox 360 games now!

After opening your Christmas presents, do you find yourself to be the proud owner of a brand new Xbox 360? Here's a few tips to change it from a game console into a home entertainment system.

Here at Digital Trends we love our gaming consoles. They let us do more than just play games, they have become an entertainment system, unlike anything that has come before them. This year Microsoft reported record sales during the week of Black Friday, so odds are many of you are now the proud owners of an Xbox 360.

With that in mind, we want to make sure that those of you who received a shiny new console under the Christmas tree get the most out of your new systems.

Below we’ve provided a few suggestions for people unfamiliar with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in order to take full advantage of what Microsoft is offering.

(When you are setting up your console, if you have an HDTV we recommend using an HDMI cable, which is not included with the Xbox 360. You can use the composite hook-ups that comes included, but it won’t have the same picture quality and you should consider an upgrade.)

Xbox Live

To really get into the Xbox 360 and all that offers you’ll need to sign up for an Xbox Live (XBL) account. A 12-month subscription costs $59.99. If the price seems a bit high, just consider that without XBL all you can really do on an Xbox is play games locally (and not online). That’s fine if that’s all you want to do, but if you want to do more than that you’ll need XBL. Besides, the Xbox Live service is what makes an Xbox 360 transform from just a gaming system into an all-around entertainment device.

XBL gives users access to the Xbox marketplace, streaming, apps, and the friends list which makes the Xbox great for online gaming. Using the friends list, players can jump into games with friends and see what they are playing, plus they can join a party and talk to them no matter what game or app they are in. It’s great for setting up impromptu gaming sessions, as well as keeping in touch with friends scattered around the world.

Make sure you check out the Live Marketplace to download games, extra content, demos, and trailers. We recommend looking for indie hits like Limbo and ‘Splosion Man, which are only available to download.

Apps

Once you have XBL set up there are several apps that we highly recommend grabbing for a variety of entertainment purposes.

Movies, Sports, and TV

If you like watching movies and TV shows at all, you’ll want to grab Netflix and Hulu Plus. You can stream content directly to your Xbox through both apps. Note that you will need paid accounts for both apps if you want them to work, but if you have a subscription to either, it will work on any computer, not just the Xbox 360. HBO Go will also be debuting on XBL in the next few months, which will give you access to all of HBO’s original programming, as well as a huge selection of movies.

In the last month, the Xbox dashboard received an overhaul which introduced live TV streaming to the 360. Currently this new deal only works for Comcast and FiOS cable TV subscribers, but more providers should be added soon. If you’re signed up with either company you can stream live TV from various channels to your Xbox, and the list of channels is growing. The update also introduced YouTube, and the movie rental service Epix among many others.

Sports fans should definitely grab the ESPN app. Not only does it update users with the latest scores, stats, and highlights, but you can also watch live streams of games. There are some holes in the programming, like ESPN’s Monday Night Football, but everything that’s on ESPN3 will be streamed to your Xbox. This is great for futbol fans, college sports, baseball, plus, whatever other sports that ESPN3 shows.

Music

The Xbox offers a variety of music services like the iHeartRadio app, which lets users stream from over a 150 live broadcast stations across the country or create custom stations. There’s also last.fm which is similar to Pandora in that it recommends songs and artists for you based on previous music that you’ve heard. The Zune music marketplace is also available for streaming and purchasing.

Personalize the dashboard

Like the Wii and its Miis, the Xbox 360 comes with avatars that players can customize and be viewed by friends in their friends lists. But unlike the Miis, Xbox avatars allow for a lot more customization.

An avatar store is available through XBL that lets users buy clothes, props, and even pets. There are even some games for the Xbox that allows users to play as their avatars, however, most of these are of the mini-game variety.

You can also change up the look of the dashboard with custom themes. Some of them are dynamic and move, while others just add a background image and change the look of the icons.

Media Center

To get really integrated you can turn the Xbox 360 into a media center. This means that you can stream movies, music, TV shows and other similar files from your home PC (or Mac) to the console.

You’ll need to do some set-up on the computer side of things to get this working but once it’s done you can play almost any movie or music file that you have on your PC on your 360. It’s great for home movies, photos, and any other digital content that you want to see on your TV.

For tips on how to set up the Xbox as a media center check out our set-up guide.

Kinect

To add some motion gaming fun to your system you can always get the Kinect. Some of the games for it are fun like the Just Dance 3, while others like the Your Shape: Fitness Evolved series offer more than just a game. Xbox has also heavily integrated Kinect motion controls into the system itself. You can use the Kinect to scroll through menus, start movies, and even Last.fm has some Kinect controls. There is also a voice activated Bing search that allows you to search for anything on the XBL network.

Parental Controls

We do want to mention that while you can access tons of great content with the various apps and store options you might not want everyone in your family accessing some of that content. The 360 comes with some pretty good content controls that let parents rate what games, shows, movies and content can and cannot be seen or played. You can block Live access and set up a timer that keeps track of how much the console can be played on a daily or weekly basis.

The indisputable fact that you have started studying this report exposes you as a satisfied Xbox 360 owner who is asking, “How am I able to burn Xbox 360 games to protect and keep the original safe?” Xbox 360 Video games are very expensive, and the costs appear to be going up. If, after you’ve purchased a game, you might want to make sure that the game disk would last for all eternity, that you would not have to worry like you do about damage from scratches, accidents, loss, or burglary. When you remember the price of games and the inevitability of damage or loss in these troublesome times to come asking, “How do I burn games on xbox 360?” is a shrewd question . You are likely asking, “Can I burn Xbox 360 games legally? ” Before explaining how I burn Xbox games, let me promise you that it is completely legal for you to make backup copies of any Xbox 360 games that you own. They are your property, and you are simply shielding your investment.

Duplicating games, whether they are yours or somebody else’s, for resale or profit is a contravention of copyright statutes. It is a transgression. Do not do it! Now – back to the business of learning the proper way to burn Xbox 360 games.

Copy & Burn All Your Games On Xbox 360

My opinion is that you have burned a music CD using your PC. Burning a copy of an Xbox 360 game is extremely similar. The one difference is the game duplicating software that you have to use and process you need to follow to patch it. The Xbox 360 games have a copy protection scheme that can’t be bypassed by the standard duplicating software that you would normally use for duplicating any music or videos. Special software, designed specially for copying Xbox 360 games, is available to go around the game’s copy protection, and allows you to burn fantastic backup copies exactly the same as the original one. After you’ve bought a copy of this special software, and installed it to your PC, you are prepared to start making backups. Learning to burn Xbox games could not be more easy. Once the software is installed, load the first Xbox 360 game into the PC and follow the onscreen directions to repeat the game files to the PC drive.

Software Needed To Burn Games For Xbox 360

When indicated, take away the Xbox game, insert the blank disk, and follow onscreen directions to replicate the game files from the PC drive. When the copying process is finished, you will have a superb backup copy of the first game you can keep for everyday use, while storing away the first game for safety. If you’re bored with troubling about damaging or destroying any of your collection of valuable Xbox 360 games, and wish to scale back your possibility of spending your hard earned money on replacement games, it is time for you to procure a copy of good game copying software, learn how it’s possible for you to burn games on xbox 360, and begin backing up these expensive games on xbox 360 right away. As is obvious from the ease of the duplicating process given above, you don’t have to be a Pro or a total geek to backup and burn xbox 360 games. All that you need are the original Xbox 360 games, a fine supply of top quality DVD blank disks, a private PC with a DVD burning drive, and a good Xbox game duplicating software application. It takes little gear to perform backups.

If you are missing anything you need, it’s going to be readily available at a local office supply store. For the game duplicating software nonetheless, you’ll have better luck finding good downloadable software on the web.

The particular steps needed to backup info from the game disk to the drive and back to a blank DVD disk may alter relying on the game duplicating software used. Though the different computer programs could have different onscreen graphics, the general flow of the procedure will be quite like the procedures noted above. The software customarily is supported by a web tutorial giving step-by-step directions, but even reference to this lesson might be needless as the onscreen directions for many of these game duplicating computer applications are far more than acceptable to guide you through the method. You can start to burn games on xbox 360 right away.

Yes It Is Legal To Burn Xbox 360 Games And Backups!

If you have carefully read thru this article, your question, “Is It Legal To Burn Xbox 360 Games And Backups??” is answered. Now you know how straightforward it is to take backups of your Xbox games, and what quantity of cash you’ll save by not needing to replace damaged of lost games – go to it.
Exclusives don't matter as much as they used to, but if you have an Xbox 360, you should be excited to know that there are a few games you can't play anywhere else. With tons of Kinect titles, several big sequels, and some great downloadable exclusives, this was a banner year for the 360. Here are five games that stand a head above the rest.

5. The Gunstringer

Child of Eden may be the more artful and emotional experience with the Kinect in 2011, but since it wasn't an exclusive, Gunstringer takes the reigns with a game that's almost as good. The gameplay wore thin at times, but wondering what crazy thing would happen next made Gunstringer a hard game to put down. The use of FMV and the constantly charming storytelling made it a game that will go down in history as one of the more creative gaming endeavors of all time. It's like a mixed-media tapestry of new-age technology, long-dead graphics techniques, and garage developer charm.

Then there's The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles, an included DLC that adds a full FMV ode to Mad Dog McCree. A collaboration with Troma Entertainment (featuring Lloyd Kaufman in a starring role), this half-hour oddity is the craziest bit of pop-culture fan service you'll see this year. Like those old FMV games, Wavy Tube Man isn't very good, but you'll be too busy laughing to care.

4. Forza 4

In a lot of ways, Forza 4 is simply a refinement of what Forza 3 did so well. The approachable take on the car simulator, with options to tailor it to your own skill and play style, isn't necessarily new. That said, Forza 3's framework of accessibility is brought to an entirely new level when combined with Forza 4's stunning new graphics and driving model. The feel of tires on tarmac in this game is unparalleled, making for driving that's so fun and challenging that I actually raced more than I wasted time in the game's brilliant paint editor and auction house.

There is more to do than ever, and even more reason to stay on the track, with a new Rivals mode that makes ghost racing the multiplayer spotlight, rather than the actual 16-player bumper car madness the online races become. Beating your friends' times is addicting and rewarding – you'll even earn credits and level up while you do it.

3. The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile

Ska Studios have been the unsung heroes of Xbox 360 exclusives. With some of the best games in the Xbox Indie Games channel, including I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 and ZP2KX, the team is one of the few continuing to do anything special in that space. One of their games, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, was so good that it got the upgrade to a full XBLA release.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile took what was already great and refined it even further. The result is pretty much the only 2D character action game that can hang with the likes of Bayonetta, God of War, and Ninja Gaiden. The game is deliciously responsive, balancing out tight controls with quick and punishing enemies. The result is that same kind of hyper-concentrated action that made Ninja Gaiden Black such a masterpiece. Shank could only wish it was this good.

2. Iron Brigade / Trenched

Back when Iron Brigade was still called Trenched, the game was plagued with so much lag that I could make a sandwich between frames. Some people never had a problem, but the lag wasn't an isolated experience, and for myself and those I played with, the lag made the game one of the biggest disappointments of 2011.

So why include it in this list? The disappointment was so high because Iron Brigade was so ridiculously good. We could barely help ourselves from suffering through one laggy match after another. Now the game has been patched, and the experience is greatly improved. With its lumbering mechs, intense action, addicting tower defense formula, and that undeniable Double Fine charm, Iron Brigade has it all.

1. Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 may not be as emotionally powerful and perfectly paced as some reviewers made it out to be. Its story isn't the tragic and subtle conclusion it was praised as, but none of that matters, because those things aren't what make Gears of War 3 so good.

This third entry in the series has more substance than the first two, and a handful of genuine character moments, but the most beautiful and artful things Epic did with it are all in the moment-to-moment gameplay. There is a point where an entry in a series is so refined that it could almost be considered a reboot. Halo: Reach made this leap, and Gears 3 follows suit.

Every hiccup in controls, weapon balance, and combat has been nearly eliminated. The result is a game that finally fulfills the promise set forth by the first game's initial concept. This is a third-person shooter unlike any other, and an online shooter so good that it can sit alongside the best of the FPS genre. That's an impressive feat considering Epic never had a blueprint and dozens of other developers to copy off of along the way.

The right to bear arms does not extend into the world of virtual game console avatars.

Even though the Xbox 360 is the place to go for bloody shoot-em-ups and FPS games that push the M-rated boundaries, Microsoft is apparently against the idea of cartoony guns for your Xbox Live avatar.

The software giant hasn't officially announced this seemingly hypocritical decision yet, but third-party publisher Epic Games has.

The publisher's community manager, who goes by the name Raczilla, wrote in an official blog post that all gun items will be removed from Xbox Live's Avatar Marketplace in January.

The post was written to inform users that Epic's Lancer and Hammerburst items will be removed as of the new year. "A new policy goes into effect for all gun-like avatar items on the Marketplace, so get them while they’re hot," Raczilla wrote.

There are already some draconian restrictions on what player avatars are allowed to do. They can't smoke or inflict any kind of violence, although of course that kind of content is commonplace in most of the Xbox 360's hottest selling games.

The policies for Xbox Live are so strict because avatars, usernames, etc, are universal. They need to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Someone playing Call of Duty would expect to see guns and blood, but someone playing an innocent game like Kinect Sports would not.

So if you want to give your Xbox Live avatar a weapon so you can terrorize your friends, you better head to the marketplace and buy it stat.

Microsoft's Vice President of Interactive Entertainment, Chris Lewis, has said that the company will not follow suit as a reaction to the recent price cut announced by Sony for its flagship PlayStation 3 console. Lewis furthered assured the consumers that the Xbox 360's RRP (Recommended Retail Price) will remain unchanged.

In an interview with VG247, Chris Lewis clarified that the company had no formal plans to cut the cost of its popular Xbox 360 games console although there have been rumours of a similar price cut from its end.

"As you can imagine, we plan for these scenarios all the time," commented Lewis. "For me to sit here and say that was a big surprise would be a lie. Respect for what they do, of course. I love the competition, actually: it keeps us on our toes, and consumers benefit ultimately."

The cut was announced while Sony was in the midst of its GamesCom presentation.

The price reform saw Sony reduce the recommended retail price of its 160GB PS3 model from €299 to €249 and the price of its 320GB model from €349 to €299. This compares to Microsoft's current Xbox 360 devices, when paired with a Kinect the 4GB version of the Xbox 360 is available for €280 and the 250GB for €340.

Analysts have since speculated that Microsoft may come to regret the decision. Following the price cut, reports have suggested that sales of the PS3 have sky-rocketed, seeing a 65 per cent increase in week-on-week sales levels.

The news came as tech site MCV reported that a "reliable retail source" had confirmed to it that since the price cut was implemented sales of the PS3 had dramatically increased. If true, the news would mean that the cut had taken effect before Sony's marketing campaign had even begun.

"We think we offer great value now... We have better service provision than anybody. We attach more effectively than anybody. I think Xbox LIVE's enviable. What we've achieved with Kinect has given us growth that I think others would aspire to at this point in the lifecycle.

"We're happy with our position. While we're not complacent about the competition, I wouldn't trade places," commented Lewis when asked about the company's decision.

Now this is what next-gen gaming is all about! Gears of War is one of those titles that comes around every couple of years and raises the bar so high that it almost spoils every game released in the next six months. This third-person shooter thrusts gamer's into a deep and harrowing story of humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the earth. Gears of War rewards teamwork in a big way. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage cooperative play.

3. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - RPG

The game is populated with over 1,000 NPCs, each leading a fully realized life, following regular schedules according to their individual wants, needs, and positions. Players are encouraged to interact in the world as they choose, as noble heroes, greedy villains, or anything in between. The game's main story and its sidemissions provide plenty of fast-moving adventure. Advised one fan: "This Game Is Like Crack.

5. Tom Chancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent - Action

The bestselling Tom Chancy's "Splinter Cell" game takes on an entirely new direction. You play as a double agent for the first time ever in Splinter Cell Double Agent. You'll take on the dual roles of covert operative and ruthless terrorist, where your choices of whom to betray and whom to protect actually affect the outcome of the game. Experience the relentless tension and gut-wrenching dilemmas of life as a double agent. Lie. Kill. Sabotage. Betray. But above all, save and protect the innocent. As a covert operative, you'll infiltrate a vicious terrorist group and seek to destroy it from within. Carefully weigh the consequences of your actions--kill too many terrorists and blow your cover. Hesitate and millions will die. Do whatever it takes to complete your mission, but get out alive.

6. LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy - Action

Play through the original Star Wars trilogy -- Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi -- as all three movies are re-created using LEGO bricks. You can play as one of 50 different characters, ride in various vehicles and even ride on several creatures. Our recommendation: If you liked the first Star Wars game, this one should definitely be on your list. If you've never played the first game, then this one must be on your list! So really, there isn't any reason not to own and play this rewarding game.

7. Madden NFL 07 - Sports

With Madden NFL 07, innovative rushing controls allow you to control the running game like never before, with all-new jukes, cutbacks, and the distinct running styles of your favorite backs. For the first time, in a football video game, you can step up as the lead blocker to create a hole, and then take control of the tailback to smash through, jump over, or tear away from any would-be tackler as you head for the end zone. One fan raved, "Overall it was exactly what i was looking for, ... the new features are all fun, and the individual camera view for every position in superstar mode gave u a feeling of really playing as the character. This will be a great game to play alone or with a group of friends."

8. Dead Rising - Action

Dead Rising follows the harrowing saga of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist. In pursuit of a clue, he makes his way to a small suburban town only to find that it has been overrun by zombies. He escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety, but it turns out to be anything but. In the intense struggle to survive the endless stream of zombies, players have full reign of a realistic shopping center, utilizing anything they find to fight off the flesh-hungry mob.

The variety of stores in the mall offers players an endless supply of resources including vehicles, makeshift weapons and more. Players encounter other survivors along the way, and by helping them, acquire valuable clues as to what has happened and how to survive. I couldn't say it better than this fan: "Thousands ... of zombies to kill in a myriad of ridiculous ways; tons of things to see and try throughout the mall; great sense of style; a plot that manages to be intriguing without intruding too much on the action; and fantastic sound effects."

9. Saints Row - Action

Welcome to Stillwater, an open-world city with attitude, a city controlled by rival gangs, a city you are about to take over in Saints Row. As a low-level thug in the Third Street Saints, you'll do whatever it takes to get the money and build the respect and power you need to muscle your way to the top. Numerous vehicles are available to "borrow," pedestrians can be slugged or robbed at gunpoint, and there are an assortment of missions to advance the game's primarily storyline. Some features include: fun, responsive driving controls; excellent shooting action; impressive presentation, featuring amazing explosions and great audio; and a well-written, well-acted story to implement.

10. Hitman: Blood Money

Action On the run from rival assassins, Agent 47 hops a plane to take care of business in Hitman: Blood Money. Players will guide Agent 47 through a number of locales, including New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas as he performs hits. It's up to the player to determine the manner in which a hit is executed, but the "rookie training" mode can show amateur assassins how to help targets have "accidents," by pushing the victim over a ledge, for example. The amount of money earned from completed jobs varies depending on the cleanliness and professionalism of the hit. Agent 47's paychecks can be spent in a number of ways including bribing reporters, buying customized upgrades for weapons, or paying bystanders for information. Open-ended stealth action gameplay lets you sneak around, or run and gun; beautifully crafted mission set pieces seem appropriately big and complex; large variety of realistic weapons; and great combination of action and strategy.
Tips Revealed!

Every gamer would want to know the ways of backing up his Xbox 360 game discs so that he can protect them from being lost or corrupted. With so many variety and quality of games, it is quite natural that you might just get hooked to playing it again and again. It is not necessary that the disk get corrupted only when you drop it but even regular usage can damage it. Hence knowing how to backup Xbox 360 game discs becomes very important.

It is not at all difficult and all you have to know is about the right game copying program software. It is a specialized program that is used for making backup copies of large files such as movies, music CDs etc. It decodes the secret code that is encrypted into the gaming disk to restrict multiple copies of the disk.

Backup your xbox 360 game discs now.

Apart from having the right software you will also require other devices ready for the Xbox backup process to be successful. A fast PC and the latest version of the DVD burner including all the necessary features are a must for ensuring the process run smoothly. You will also require a good quality blank DVD to copy the game. Do not compromise on the quality of the DVDs as then you will end up making bad copies of the games which will not last long and eventually you will end up losing the complete data or the game.

You do not have to be a technical person in order to complete the Xbox 360 game backup process. The steps are quite simple and can be understood very easily. Just make copy of the original disk on your PC's hard disk and further from there just using a software burn it on a new blank DVD. The copy software will then make the mirror image of the hard driver on the blank DVD.
How To Download Xbox 360 Games For Free?

Look, if you're looking for ways to download free xbox 360 games, you can get it any where in the internet.

However, if you want to get step by step guidance, 24/7 support staff who could guide you how to download, burn and flash your xbox 360 dvd drive in order to play the downloaded games, you could check out on best xbox 360 games download sites to get the best sources of downloading your the latest xbox 360 games now.

So what's the difference between downloading free xbox 360 games online and from 360 membership sites?

Well, here's my opinion.

If you're a newbie who have a new xbox 360 and have no prior downloading experience, i would suggest you download the free xbox 360 games from membership sites. This is because you wouldn't be able to play the downloaded games without knowing how to burn your 360 games and making some small modification (flashing your dvd drive console) on your xbox 360.

These processes are a little complicated since the techniques are often updated and using the latest update could save you lots of troubles. Problem is, these information is flooded all over the internet, what you're seeing on the first page of google or yahoo may not be the latest update- This might end up frustrations on you because some techniques work while some do not.

Membership sites have private personnel who can help you filter out all the slow downloading torrent seeds, bad techniques about burning xbox 360 game discs and flashing your firmware dvd drive.... In other words, it saves you tonnnssss of time now since you can download, burn and directly play any xbox 360 game you want without going through any trial and errors processes.

Learn where you can download free xbox 360 games with step by step guidance right away!

So how about the free xbox 360 games? Can you download unlimited full version xbox 360 games for free for the rest of your life?

My answer is- Yes... These games are usually hosted in good torrent servers. You must be wondering "Do they work? Are they safe of virus? Am I downloading free xbox 360 games legally?". Well, from what I've seen, many of these games have good download speed which you can complete the downloads within 1 day. These games might not be completely free of virus or malware, however comparing to the anonymous download sites, the chances of downloading xbox 360 games that contain viruses are definitely much lower.

Talking about legality. Downloading games or movies or songs online isn't a legal act you should know. There isn't any so-called 'free and legal downloads' as far as I concern unless you're downloading demo version from the xbox 360 site itself. So, what can I say? If you have no money, try exchanging games with friends, or buying 2nd hand 360 games from online.

However, if legality is and has never been an issue to you, then taking up the free xbox 360 games download service is a a good option since you could save tons of money and time trying out different downloading, burning and dvd drive flashing methods that could harm your pc and xbox 360 console by just following step by step no brainer ways to get your games downloaded and played in no time!
And why shouldn't it be? The XBox 360 is a popular video game player on the market, and Microsoft is continually updating, upgrading and offering more accessories and products for their device than any other manufacturer out there today.

However, even though the XBox 360 is the world's most popular video game system, that doesn't mean that you should simply run out to your nearest electronic goods retailer and pick up the first XBox 360 that you see. As with any vital purchase decision, research is the key to making an informed buying choice.

Even though the XBox 360 enjoys unparalleled popularity, there are certain things that you should bear in mind before you ultimately purchase your XBox 360:

IS THE XBox 360 RIGHT FOR ME?

There's the original XBox, the XBox 360, and the Xbox Online too. Each variation of the Xbox or Xbox 360 has different features and functions than the other. And while the new XBox 360 should be easy to locate in a wide range of stores, other versions might be difficult to locate if they are discontinued or sold out. You should definitely research exactly which XBox you want before you purchase it.

DO I WANT ACCESSORIES?

You can easily purchase a simple XBox 360 for your pleasure, but you'll then have to consider where you will use your XBox 360 and how you'll use it. Will you just keep it with you at home for playing? Will you take it with you to a friend's house, or even work and school? For each use of the XBox 360, there are many accessories that you can purchase to store and protect your device. You will have to ask yourself if you are willing to spend the extra money for the wide range of XBox 360 accessories that Microsoft has to offer.

HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH FOR ME?

Are you a video game fanatic, playing everything your eyes can possibly take all the time? Or do you have a limited amount of games that you absolutely love? If you're the former, then you will want to get an XBox 360 with the greatest memory capacity that you can afford. The larger the memory capacities, the more games you can download, store and play on your Xbox. But, if you are the latter, then you won't need to spend so much on an XBox 360, as you will not require an exceptionally large memory capacity.

ASK WHAT YOUR XBox 360 CAN DO FOR YOU?

We all know that the XBox 360 is great for playing games and movies. However, XBox 360s can be much more than simple video game system. Your XBox 360 can connect you online to the world if you want. You can shop for Microsoft and Xbox 360 items right from your console if you want. If you want your XBox 360 to be everything you need, then you should expect to shell out extra money for it. However, if you just want your XBox 360 to play games and nothing else, then you won't have to spend as much money.

No matter what kind of XBox 360 you get or how you plan on using it, you should do a bit of research before you make that purchase. It's never a good thing when you buy something you don t really need, or when you purchase something that does not meet your needs and expectations. However, when armed with knowledge, you will be certain to purchase the right XBox 360 for you.

Looking for advice and deals on electronics? Among all, video game is something that is more valuable than any gifts. Gone are the days when video games used to be ‘hot favorite' among kids, children and adolescents, in today's world, even adults cannot keep themselves aloof from this mesmerizing ‘pack of entertainment'.

Video games can be based on home computer systems but for the most part, these video games are operated on handheld game consoles having special devices and joysticks. It can also be played on different multimedia consoles or multimedia platforms. With the advancement and betterment in electronics, those devices that were having wires are not wireless and most of them are now working on infrared systems.

The earliest example for video games goes back in the year of 1947, where the idea for a ‘Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device' was thought by Thomas T. Goldsmith Junior and Estle Ray Mann. That first ever attempt for video game contained an analog device, which used to allow a user to control a vector drawn dot on the screen to shot a missile on the targets, which were described by drawings that were fixed to the display-screen.

The advancement in technology was obvious and so the craze for the video games among children. Revolutionary products like The Xbox 360 multimedia platform, PlayStations, the Nintendo DS created mileposts in the genre of video games and those video games were much better than just cartoons or flash designed tanks, bullets, arms and other video games characters. The software used there is hi-tech and capable enough to get you realistic flairs. The sound quality and graphics have reached their best and still there are chances of more betterment. Video games have different genres like action, arcade, board games, horror, movie-based games and many more.

Today, these game systems are equipped with wireless technologies and many of them feature USB 2.0 connectivity. Video games can be played with great effect of surround-sound or speakers could be built-in. Right from the mini-sized video games as we have in watches and cellular phones to big-sized HDTV screen mode games are always there to get you to another world of fantasies where you are the hero and you decide, how your world should be.

The Realism of Video Games

If you are aging nearly about 30s,do you remember the games you used to play with some cents paying on the counter and then getting a ‘video game coin' and then put it into machine and then, you favorite red or blue capped ‘Mario' is ready to jump on the ducks? You used to take crowns that appeared like mushroom to make you bigger and then taking flowers to fire that could bump on the ground!

Now, change the scene and look at your kid who plays with some PlayStation or Nintendo DS or Xbox 360 multimedia platforms with hi-tech gadgets on hero's hand with extraordinary graphics giving realistic appearance of the enemies and the sound of bullets making your heart beating faster. You really get afraid when you play ‘The Mummy' or ‘Undying' with lights off and sounds on! Video game manufacturers now do not believe that those ‘cartoon' character pleases today's advanced generation anymore and hence, they are in more idea that describes the realism of the video games.

The world is moving towards globalization and simultaneously, advancement and betterment in latest technologies is something like ‘never ending' story. Sky is the limit and you never know Xbox, PSs and Nintendo may come up with something that is more realistic than your own real world! The realism of the video games is not limited just to the action games; you now have realistic games having real players' and teams' names. You have real kings and pawns on the chess-board. It now really looks funny when you play oldest version of chess with flash-designed pieces with no note of 3D graphics.

Manufacturers are now aware of the surroundings that carry real news and those events can be utilized very well that can catch everybody's eyes and while children are playing, adults too get attracted. You can have the real Gulf-War or Afghanis fighting for their survival. Your hero also needs to fight against Nazis and rescue soldiers that are kept somewhere in the castles across the country.

‘Need For Speed', ‘The Medal Of Honor', ‘Spider Man', ‘Matrix' etc have either based on the real events, the movies or they are based on today's generations' passion. There are many techniques and theories as to the dearth of reality-based video games. The advancement of video game graphics can turn it easier to make real world wars, conflicts and issues appear that are much, more, real, on the screen with real sound effect.

Here is a fantastic video games download site where you can find the most latest database of games, Xbox 360 Games on the internet... have a look at it, i am sure you will like it

http://www.everything4360.com/
