From the Steelers' official website I have no idea what a BLESTO scout is, but the position will now be filled by former Steelers defensive back/special teams captain/king of downing punts at the 1-yard line, Chidi Iwuoma. This is exciting news to nobody but me, because I own this jersey: Yes, I am that kind of hipster. Been working on some stuff about the Steelers' rookies this year, but I want to get that all done before they start publishing. The Pittsburgh Steelers first OTA session of the 2013 season got underway on Tuesday and we are finally starting to see some reports come in via Twitter from the media. Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Marcus Gilbert opened up as the starting left tackle with Mike Adams manning the right tackle spot. In addition, Kelvin Beachum worked as the second team center on Tuesday. Former Steelers Special Teams Ace Chidi Iwuoma Back With Team As BLESTO Scout

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Tuesday that they have hired former cornerback Chidi Iwuoma to the personnel department as a BLESTO scout and that Mike Butler will now become a college scout. Iwuoma was originally signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2001 out of California, but played for the Steelers from 2002-2006. While he never started a game for the Steelers on the defensive side of the football, he was a special teams ace and he served as the special teams co-captain in both 2004 and 2005. The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Monday that they have another one of their nine draft picks under contract as sixth-round linebacker Vince Williams has now signed his rookie contract. Williams, who was the second of the two players selected by the Steelers in the sixth-round, is out of Florida State and was the 206th overall pick in the draft .
