What to Bring, Wear, and Prepare on Napolcom Exam Day

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) will conduct a nationwide PNP Entrance Examination and Promotional Examination as to the pursuant to its constitutional mandate to administer and control the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Aside from securing your applications and reviewing for the upcoming examinations, it also important to know the prescribed dress attire to wear and the important things an examinee must need to bring. This is also an essential aspect of preparations before the upcoming examination day that need to be considered. Not bringing those things could delay you and have the tendency for you to stay out of focus might as well failed the examination. Also, not following the prescribed attire could hinder you to not entering the testing center.

So, this page will be beneficial for you to be informed of the recommended things that strictly need to follow for all the examinees taking this examination.

WHAT TO BRING DURING THE EXAMINATION

WHAT TO PREPARE

Before every examination, if it’s a licensure examination or a school examination or even a job examination there is always a preparation for it. It is always the preparedness that might give us the “Big Shot” and can put us to the success we always wanted to have.

The following are only some of the many things to prepare for the examination day.

1. Know the location of your testing center. If possible pay a visit at least 2 days before the exam dates.

2. Be Punctual.

Don’t be just on time, maybe you could go earlier or one hour before the time of the examination.

3. Don’t skip your meal.

Every examination has its own time table and surely it is time consuming. Have yourself satisfied tummy that will help you to stay on focus and have an effective brain to work at best of its ability. It is best for you to bring some snacks for back up.

4. Prepare Yourself.

Know your needs, especially the things you need to do before the examination day. Best to bring extra pencils that are already sharpened to avoid sharpening. Always keep in mind, “Time is Gold.”

5. Be attentive to the test instructor.

Always pay attention to what he/she will going to say. Listen very carefully, for they will always instruct you the proper way to fill out and what to fill out. They will also tell you what subject you will take and what time you need to finish on that subject. Don’t open the Test Booklet unless the instructor will told you so.

6. Don’ Forget to Pray.

The Philippine Bar Examination is the professional licensure examination for lawyers exclusively supervised by the Supreme Court of the Philippines through the Supreme Court Bar Examination Committee and not administered by the Professional Regulation Commission.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Professional degree holder in law from an accepted law school in the Philippines.
Bachelor’s degree holder with academic credits in certain required subjects from distinguished college or university in the Philippines or abroad.

NON-ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Must be a Filipino citizen
At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Must be a resident of the Philippines.
Must have a satisfactory evidence of good moral character (usually a certificate from the dean of law school or an immediate superior at work).
No charges involving moral turpitude have been filed against the candidate or are pending in any court in the Philippines.

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS for Supreme Court of the Philippines

A. New Applicants (Without Cases)

1. Birth Certificate (issued by the NSO and Local Civil Registrar)

-Original or Certified True Copy

-Must be legible

-In the absence of a Birth Certificate, submit a Certificate of Late Registration

-In case of discrepancy in the entries in the Birth Certificate and Transcript of Records (TOR, applicant is required to submit a corrected Birth Certificate or corrected TOR as the case may be.

2. Marriage Certificate for Married Female Applicants (issued by the NSO or Local Civil Registrar)

3. Two (2) Testimonials of Good Moral Character executed by a Member of the Philippine Bar

Coverage and Scope

The Philippine Bar Examination includes the following topics and their associated subtopic, commonly known as the Bar Subjects. The eight bar topics are separately graded. Each topics contributes to the general average in the following percentage.

Passing Grade

The passing average fixed by law is 75%, with no grade falling below 50% in any bar subject.

“Poverty is not a hindrance to success”, this is a well-known proverb that every Filipinos can truly relate. Poverty is nothing if everybody has a sense of hard work and determination towards success.

Just like Erwin Valmoria Macua, a 38 year old Security Guard by night and a full time student by day at St. Theresa’s College in Cebu. He graduated as a Cum Laude in a degree of Bachelor in Elementary Education and as a matter of fact few hours before his graduation he was still on his duty as a night shift guard. He is one of the many Filipino’s who proves that despite of financial difficulties and age discrimination, it is not too late to pursue the dreams you always wanted to achieve.

Erween Macua is from Cebu and a father of three. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, Macua serves the school for seventeen years. He has been consistent Dean’s Lister since his first year in college way back 2013 despite of his working shift of from 7:00PM to 7:00 AM and keep a full load attending classes from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

His salary at the school has not been only helping his studies but as well as his family. His 17 year old eldest son is a Cebu City scholar, taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of Cebu. While his second child is a Grade 10 student at Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School and his youngest daughter is only ten months old. His wife manages a sari-sari store at their home in Kalunasan, Cebu City also to support the family’s finances.

Sometimes he could not go home to be with his family just to finish his school works and projects. He always tried his best to get things done in order to be with his family during his rest day and Sunday.

Having a strong support system and understanding from his family especially his wife, he manages to balance his work and school duties and also his classmates gives him the helping hands to get through his studies.

After 4 years of hard work and struggling, the most awaited day had come with flying colors for Erwin Macau. All of it had paid off. His journey towards achieving his goals in life is very admirable and serves as a good example to everyone who wants to continue attaining education. It is the best gift ever when you work hard for it.

His story is a living testimony to many people that there is nothing impossible in this vast world. Let us treat every hindrances and obstacle as a challenge and make it as a strength to overcome it.

Gates of testing venues will be closed at exactly 7:30 a.m. The CSC urged examinees to have an ocular inspection of their assigned school at least a day before the examination day to familiarize themselves with the location.

Examinees are advised to check their school and room assignments via the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA). Those who are unable to access the ONSA should call the CSC Regional or Field Office where they filed their application.

On examination day, examinees must bring black ball pens and a valid I.D. card, preferably the same I.D. card presented during filing of application. If the I.D. card to be presented on the day of the exam is different from the I.D. card presented during application, examinees must present any of the following I.D. cards, which must be valid (not expired):

- Driver’s License;
- Passport;
- PRC License;
- SSS I.D.;
- GSIS I.D. (UMID);
- Voter’s I.D.;
- BIR I.D. (ATM type/TIN card type with picture);
- PhilHealth I.D. (with the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature and PhilHealth number);
- Company/Office I.D.;
- School I.D.;
- Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate;
- Postal I.D.;
- Barangay I.D.;
- or NBI Clearance.

The CSC stressed that the “No I.D., No Examination” rule will be strictly implemented.

If the I.D. card has no date of birth, examinees must bring their original Birth Certificate printed on security paper issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority or the Local Civil Registry. If available, examinees may also bring their application receipt with CSC official receipt and Notice of School Assignment generated thru ONSA.

The CSC reminded examinees to come in proper attire on examination day, which means wearing of sleeveless shirt or blouse, short pants, and slippers is not allowed.

Examinees are advised to access and read thoroughly CSC Examination Advisory No. 04, s. 2017 posted on the CSC website for other important details, including reminders for accomplishing the answer sheet.

The Career Service Professional and Sub-professional examinations are general ability tests designed to measure an individual's preparedness to enter government service. The Professional level lasts for three hours and 10 minutes, while the Sub-professional level, for two hours and 40 minutes.

The CSC said that examinees of the Professional level should review on vocabulary; grammar and correct usage; paragraph organization; reading comprehension; analogy/logic (i.e., word association, identifying assumptions and conclusions, logic, data interpretation); and numerical reasoning (i.e., basic operations, word problems).

Takers of the Sub-professional level should also review on the same subject areas except analogy/logic, in place of which is clerical operations (i.e., filing, spelling).

Examinees for both levels should also review on the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act No. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection, all of which form part of General Information questions, the CSC said.

230,000 + Examiners to take CS Exam on March 12 #CSE-PPT

Manila, Philippines - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will administer the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) to 230,736 examinees on Sunday, March 12, in 60 testing centers nationwide.

Taking the Professional level exam are 197,924 examinees or 85.78 percent of the total number of examinees, and the Subprofessional level, 32,812 examinees or 14.22 percent.

In terms of regional count, bulk of examinees at 34,827, or 15.09 percent of the total number of examinees nationwide, are from the National Capital Region. This is followed by Southern Tagalog (Region IV) with 32,654 examinees or 14.15 percent. The third highest number of examinees was recorded in Central Luzon (Region III) with 15,703 examinees.

Other regions of the country with considerable turnout of examinees include Western Visayas (Region VI) with 15,626 examinees; Bicol (Region V), 15,351; and SOCCSKSARGEN (Region XII), 14,227.

Passing the CSE would result in the conferment of either Sub-professional or Professional eligibility. Sub-professional eligibility is appropriate only to first level (clerical) positions while the latter is appropriate up to second level (technical) positions. Said eligibilities do not apply to positions that involve practice of profession or that are covered by special laws.

The CSC said that eligibility is a minimum requirement – along with education, experience, and training – for permanent appointment to government career service positions.

Another CSE-PPT is scheduled on August 6; the period for filing of applications will run from April 3 to June 2. Applications should be submitted at the CSC Regional and Field Office where the examinee intends to take the examination. Interested applicants are advised to check CSC Examination Announcement No. 03, s. 2016 (Nationwide Conduct of CSE-PPT for Professional and Sub-professional Levels for CY 2017) for details on testing centers, qualifications to take the examination, and application requirements and procedures.

Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) just released the schedule of the board exams for the year 2017 one of these is the Criminology Licensure Examination through board resolution no, 2016-1019 series 2016. This includes the opening of online processing of applications, target dates of release of examination results and Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE).

2017 CBE Schedule:

Exam Date: June 11, 12 & 13 (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)
Filing Deadline: April 28, 2017
Venue: Manila, All Regional Offices, Zamboanga

Exam Date: December 8, 9 & 10 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Filing Deadline: October 8, 2017
Venue: Manila, All Regional Offices, Zamboanga, General Santos and Rosales

According to PRC the filling of application together with the supporting documents, at the Central and Regional offices shall be in the period indicated in the schedule. Also noted that if the deadline of the filling application falls on legal or regular holiday and non-working holidays, the deadline shall be on the immediately succeeding working day.

3.Four (4) pieces 1.77” x 1.37” (passport size) pictures (attire w/ collar and sleeves) Front view/plain background w/ complete nametag (ex. DUMANDAN, GLORIO JR. O.)

The Civil Service Commission(CSC) is a government owned body agency with has the only purpose is to manage those qualified members in the PUBLIC/government service.

CSC emphasized the importance of passing the civil service examination, saying that it is a vital step toward entering a career in government. Passers are enabled to either the professional or sub-professional eligibility, which is a basic requirement – together with education, experience and training – for permanent appointment in the career service.

The Civil Service Commission offers two levels of Career Service Eligibility Examination, one is Professional level and the other is Subprofessional level. You can take these exams through paper and pencil (PPT) or a through computer-assisted test (CAT).

Let us by defining the difference between Professional and Sub-professional level. Most examinees are caught in confusion on what is the difference of the two, technically they are almost the same, the position you can apply for in a government office depends on the type of eligibility. The coverage of the exams also differs for the two levels.

The Civil Service Exam coverage, scope, passing rate and tips are discussed here. If you are taking the Career Service Eligibility Exam next year, either for professional and sub-professional level or Paper and Pencil (PPT) or Computer-assisted test (CAT), it is essential to be aware for the CSC exam coverage, scope, passing rate and tips so you know what you can prepare well before the examination day.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Career Service Professional and Sub-professional examinations are open to applicants regardless of educational attainment. The CSE-PPT for Professional and Sub-professional levels are open to Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of an application, regardless of educational attainment.

Take note: CSC has given info that any Filipino Citizen can file the application if he/she is already 18 years old even if you are not in college or any educational attainment.

Applicants for both level must:

1.Be Filipino citizens, at least 18 years old, and of good moral character;
2. Have no criminal record or have not convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
3. Have not been dishonorably discharged from military service or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and
4. Have not taken the same level of career service examination within three (3) months from the last examination taken.

The CSC clear up that there is NO MORE limit in taking the Career Service Examinations. An individual may consistently take the number of times failed, provided that the examinee takes the same level of examination once in every three months.

TIPS AND OTHER RELEVANT FACTS

You are not permitted to use calculator during the examination period but don’t be worried don’t need to become a math expert to be able to solve math problems but you must need to study, review and practice before entering the designated examination areas. For professional level examinees will only given 3 hours and 10 minutes to answer 170 items time starts from 8:00 AM to 11:10 AM and for sub-professional examinees will only given 2 hours and 40 minutes to answer 165 items time starts from 8:00 AM to 10:40 AM. So if you find one hard question to answer do not stay on it go back after if you have a spare time so that you can move on to the next question.

There are a lot of institutions and mediums of research that offers reviews and a lot of free Civil Service exam reviewers over the internet. You don’t need to stress or pressure yourself because there are many bookstores nationwide that offers CS reviewers if you have extra money to spend.

Passing the Civil Service examination (CSE from CSC) has never been easier. Civil Service Exam Latest Schedule and Testing Centers #CSE-PPT #2017

Civil Service Exam -Pencil and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Sub Professional Levels for 2017 was scheduled on March 12, 2017 and August 6, 2017. Civil Service Commission is observing First Come, first Serve basis in accepting applicants. Regional offices and Field Offices will have the tendency to close earlier than the given schedule of deadline if they already achieved the quota or target number of applicants for the said examination. So early filling is highly recommended.

For CSE-PPT on March 12, 2017, filling of application period was started last November 14, 2016 to January 13, 2017 and was extended up to January 20, 2017 by the CSC. For August 6, 2017 examination application period will be on April 3, 2017 to June 3, 2017.
