Don’t you just hate it when things sneak up on you? Well for the second month in a row I have egg on my face as I have been too busy to prepare for my monthly blog. I am rewriting a book for one publisher and filing out the contract and paperwork for a new novel with another publisher. Therefore, once again, I dove into my archives of blogs for a naughty but zany one. I hope you like it.

Hi everyone, I was going to post a blog on First and Third Person writing but I decided readers wouldn’t be that interested. Instead I took a blog from my Wordpress Blog, my second most popular ever and added some 9 Songs videos. This is a controversial post so only the liberal minded should read it. Thanks and I hope you like this journey into absurdity.

A Movie Review 4 U

WARNING: This is an informative and irreverent review about an explicit unrated movie. If you are easily offended, please don’t read it. If you do, please don’t complain about it.

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the initial edition of A Movie Review 4 U. Today we will be reviewing the British movie billed as an explicit mainstream movie, 9 Songs, written, produced and directed by Michael Winterbottom”

WARNING, DO NOT WATCH THESE VIDEOS UNLESS YOU ARE EIGHTEEN AND NOT OFFENDED BY EXPLICIT SEXUAL MATERIAL.

“With us, this fine Saturday morning, our regular panel members, the lovely, Bo Derek, who as movie stars go, has probably been filmed in the nude more than any other Hollywood actress. Hello Bo, I see we’re wearing clothes today.”

“Well, I am. I don’t know if I’d call your outfit, clothes, Jerry. Besides, I’m not sure I’m ready to show off my private tattoo yet.”

“And the gentleman to her left is of course, Mr. Macho, Bruce Willis, who also has an erotic scene or two to his credit. Bruce.”

“Good to be here, Jerry.”

“Bruce. What are you doing?”

“I’m just seeing if Bo will show me her tattoo. I’m a big fan of tattoos, especially private ones.”

“What are you doing Bo?”

“Bruce wants to see my tattoo. I’ve got a piercing too, but I can’t show you that, Brucie.”

“Really? Can you please show me? After the show, of course.”

“I don’t think so Jerry”

“Shucks! Last but not least are our two guest panel members, head of the 700 Club, Rev. Pat Robertson and Penthouse Magazine Publisher, Bob Guccione. Gentlemen, thanks for being with us this Saturday morning.”

“Good to be here, said Rev. Robertson.”

“Same here Jerry, but I’d like to say one thing to Ms Derek. I could provide a format for you to show the world your body art,” offered Mr. Guccione.

“Body art. You give that tripe a proper name? It’s defilement of God’s work!”

“Reverend, please calm down, we need to get on with the show.”

“I, of course, am you host, moderator and referee all rolled into one, Jerry Springer.”

“Our show will follow the system of our sister show, A Book Review 4 U. We’ll start with a comment from our resident opinionator, Mr. Dee and then we’ll open things up for discussion by our panel.

“We now have Mr. Dee on the phone to get his analysis. Good morning Mr. Dee. I hope it‘s not too early for you back in Arizona, after all it is six o’clock there isn‘t it?”

“Not an issue. I do most of my writing early in the morning.”

“I’m sorry. If I may get right to the point, what did you think of this movie, 9 Songs.

“I’ve read a few reviews on 9 songs and one thing they all seem to agree upon is that the movie has no story. I can’t disagree with them. There isn’t much of a story, but if you pay attention you do arrive at some interesting conclusions.”

“The plot of the movie can be boiled down to this, boy and girl meet at a, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, rock concert and go to his apt and f*ck. Another concert and another roll in the hay. With some small exceptions this is the modus operandi for nine concerts.”

“Matt is a scientist, a glaciologist and Lisa is a visiting American college student. Matt tried to keep up with Lisa, but I got the impression that he was overmatched, with Lisa, whom I thought was an excitement junkie. She was also more into experimentation. At one point, Matt went home by himself as she stayed with a woman.”

“I couldn’t figure out why the sex scenes seemed so well done - almost real. Then, as the movie progressed it became obvious. The bathtub scene with Matt and Lisa, the only actors in the movie, gave me the first clue. With Matt (Kieran O’Brien) leaning back on one side of the tub and Lisa (Margo Stilley) on the other, she uses her feet to massage his erect penis in full view of the viewers. That was about halfway through the movie and was only the beginning. Each sex scene thereafter, became increasing more explicit.”

“After about three months of steady rock concerts and sex, Lisa told Matt that she will soon be going back to America. Matt was crushed, so that afternoon Lisa cheered him up by … how can I say this? Blowing him! The viewer gets to see the whole shebang, just like a porn movie. She sucks on him for about thirty seconds and then the camera cuts away to a long view of Matt, ejaculating upon his abdomen.”

“On the day she is scheduled to leave, the spectator is presented a vision of the couple having intercourse including clear view of phallic penetration.”

“Speaking of the rock concerts, rock music fans, especially fans of British bands may be interested in the bands of the various concerts. I managed to dig seven of them out – they are:”

• Super Furry Animals
• The Dandy Warhols
• Franz Ferdinand
• Elbow
• Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
• The Von Bondies
• Primal Scream

Conclusion

“What one might get out of this movie depends upon what one’s expectations are. No, it doesn’t have much of a story, but I thought the overall product was entertaining and very watchable. The movie was realistic in everyway (not just the sex) and earthy. The acting by the two actors was really something to behold and so was the cinematography.”

“It should be pointed out that the writer, producer, director of 9 Songs, felt there was a double standard regarding reading material vs film. He thought, since many erotic and even mainstream books are extremely graphic, why can’t mainstream movies also depict graphic sex. In comparison to the present day trend of filthy degrading pornographic films, 9 songs must seem extremely tame. Still, it is a big leap forward in sexuality from the average boring, poorly done soft-core movie. Therefore, I’m going against the grain, Jerry, and giving the movie 5 stars.”

“Thank you for your insight Mr. Dawning. Now it’s time to get our panels opinion.”

“Let’s start with you Bruce, but before you start, I want you to consider a couple questions? Do you think it is proper to ask an actor to have sex on the screen and as an actor, would you have considered, such a part?”

“Bruce.”

“That’s a hell of a question, Jerry. I didn’t think you were that thoughtful. Let me talk about the film then I’ll go back to your question.”

“I thought, the film pioneered new ground. I don’t know if we’ll see more movies like that in the future but it certainly set the groundwork for them. I give the movie 4 stars.”

“As for your question. I’m sure, when you are first getting started you may be required to do parts that you could reject once you are established.”

“Fine, but what about you and is it appropriate?”

“I didn’t mention it but I interposed myself into your hypothetical equation. As for appropriate? If it’s in the script, it’s appropriate.”

“Very good. Bo. Bo! What are you doing?”

“I’m showing Reverend Robertson my body art.”

“I thought you said you couldn’t show anyone your piercing?”

“The Reverend said it’s okay to show him because he’s a holy man. Right Reverend?”

“Well, oomph. I didn’t quite say it that way. I said people think I’m a dweeb but their wrong. I’m wholly a man.”

“Okay, Sweetheart hurry up and put your clothes back on, before we get fined.”

“That’s alright Jerry, If you get fined. Penthouse will be glad to pay it. Ms Derek, I still want to talk about appearing in my mag –”

“That’s all right. I need to get Bo’s opinion of 9 songs. Bo did you hear my question to Bruce.”

“I think so.”

“And”

“Well, I liked the movie. It’s realistic. F*cking is what people do. I’d like to see more movies like that and I wouldn’t mind appearing in one myself. It would be my crowning achievement. I give the movie 5 stars.”

“Alright, Moving on. Reverend?”

“As you should know. There is no place in our society for dreck like this misbegotten movie and I certainly wouldn’t perform in a movie like that! 1 star.”

“I don’t think Jerry was asking you if you would screw on film reverend. Skinny old people don’t film too well naked.”

“I’ll thank you to keep your opinions to yourself, Mr. Smut peddler.”

“That’s okay Mr. Shyster. I’ll bet if I got Bo here to show her body art in Penthouse, you’d be the first in line for a co –”

“Bob, please. We may disagree but let’s do it with civility. Now what did you think of 9 Songs?”

“I loved it. It brought back memories of my randy movie Caligula.”

“Randy is right. That was pure pornograp –”

“Aw, so you’ve seen it. What other sex movies have you seen Reverend? How big a collection do you have. Huh?”

“Gentlemen please. We’re almost out of time. What is your rating, Bob?”

“5 stars”

“Thank you, Bob. That averages out to 4 stars.”

“So there you have it, 9 songs by Michael Winterbottom. Buy it!”

“That’s it for now. Join us next week when our guest reviewers will be Paris Hilton and General Tommie Franks.”

“Yes, Bob?”

“I just wanted to mention to Ms Derek that I may have the vehicle to her crowning achievement, since I would make a sequel to Caligula if she would star in it.”

“Now that’s an interesting proposition.”

“I’ll bet you get all kinds of propositions. Talk about it after the show. What are you doing?”

“Showing Bob my body art.”

“Until next week this is Jerry Springer slugging … I mean signing off. Have a great day!”

This week, I was fortunate enough to attend a workshop intended for human services providers (more commonly known as social workers).

The official workshop title was something along the lines of “Providing services to the lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex and queer communities,” but the focus was on providing inclusive services to trans women. All too often, trans men and women find themselves with no place to turn because our social services sector is still struggling to accommodate the trans community.

I’ve been to a number of these training sessions, but no matter how many I attend I always manage to learn something new. Today’s new information was some terminology I never knew existed. That’s the thing about LGBT lingo: it’s in constant flux. It can be hard to keep up. Ever heard the terms CISSEXUAL and CISGENDER?

Me neither! Not until this week, at least. What do they mean? They are the contrast terms for the concepts of TRANSSEXUAL and TRANSGENDER.

CISSEXUAL – refers to people who are not transsexual and have only ever experienced their gender identity and physical sex as being aligned. (ie. A woman born with female genitals, who had only ever thought of herself as female.)

CISGENDER –refers to individuals whose gender expressions match the behaviours or roles deemed by society to be appropriate to that sex. (ie. A “girly” girl. There is a certain amount of cross-over here, though, as a passing transwoman who exhibits “feminine” behaviours and look would also be considered cisgender)

Until these words came along, we would express contrast by saying, “She’s transgender and I’m…normal…” but look at the opposition that sets up! It makes the trans person come across as abnormal.

So that’s the function of the terms cissexual and cisgender. They’re still contentious in their own ways, since terminology can never be perfect, and I’m somewhat doubtful these terms will catch on in a big way, but now we know they exist. By the way, the “cis” is pronounced “sis.”

End of language today’s lesson.

The thing I find most encouraging about LGBT workshops is that they’re taking place at all. The social services sector is addressing the fact that many of its professionals aren’t all that comfortable around all things transgender. If they’re walking on eggshells on transgender issues, imagine how they’ll react in trying to provide services to trans people!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th! While it’s drizzling here at the moment, they’re forecasting it will clear off and only get up into the mid seventies…which is beautiful weather. Yeah sure the grass might be a little wet but I’m not planning on sitting on it. We’re planning on grilling out on my new smoker grill. This will be the first time I’ve used it, so I hope I figure it out right. Smoked Iowa Chops, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, beans and crusty dinner rolls with watermelon for dessert, sounds like a good celebratory meal for the holiday.

I mentioned in my last blog about the flooding of a year ago, and I’ll be damned if it isn’t still affecting us. They aren’t going to have fireworks downtown this year again or at Ellis Park but out at the college. I’ve debated on whether or not to take my kids or not. But instead I think I’m going to go to my Uncle’s where it’s much less crowded and watch the fireworks there if we decide to go at all. Then it will be back home to do the sparklers and yell at the kids about sharing them and not chasing the dog. Yeah, chasing the dog. I have such little hellions.

So to all those who celebrate today, have fun, be safe and enjoy the fireworks, whether they’re in your own backyard or at a crowded gathering, and don’t forget why we’re free. God bless the American soldiers who can’t be home today to celebrate it.

It’s Friday again and time for me to blog… The problem? I’ve been so busy with my new book that I have no idea what to talk about.

The book I’m writing is an old story that I wrote last year. It’s novel-length, full of adventure and discovery, and the romance still makes me smile and sigh. But although readers I’ve shown it to loved it, when I read I can see that it’s not to publishing standards. Parts fall flat, dialogue has too many flashy tags (he spat, she cried, he roared *laughing*) During and since writing this story I have learned a great deal about the art of writing, plot, flow, *cough* and dialogue. And I really think that I can do it justice if I rewrite.

So you’re sitting there wondering why I want to rewrite an old story since it needs so much work. One reason: The sex is so god damn HOT!! I mean the story is fine, needs work but alright, but the real romance and excitement comes out in those sex scenes. It’s right there that he first sees his heroine as different to every other woman he’s met, it’s during sex that he discovers the kind of woman she is, the kind of man he wants to be, and the kind of love they could share, if he allowed himself to let her in to his life.

And I suppose that’s why I chose to write erotic romance. I can plug out an okay story if I want to, but it’s during the love scenes that I really sparkle, that my characters really come into themselves.

I mean the way a man touches the woman in his bed really does show a great deal about his character.

He flipped her easily onto her stomach, ignoring her indignant cry. Gripping her hips he thrust his cock home and exhaled loudly with the rush of intense pleasure. Fuck - he wasn’t going last long, already he could feel his climax tightening his balls.

*laughing* he may as well be with a blowup doll

He flipped her easily onto her stomach, a smile twitching his mouth at her indignant cry. Laying his weight over her smaller body he pressed his rock hard erection against her bottom and growled into her ear.

“Mine” He felt her shiver at the word and punctuated his point by running a line of hot wet kisses down her throat and across her shoulder. ”Say it.”

See the difference? I love these little differences. It’s during sex that we see our characters at their most vulnerable and using their most basic elements. If one charcter is a submissive that might not show in the general plot, but it will definately show during sex.

So what’s my point? Well no point really I just wanted to share.

Hey there,

I hope you like this short piece. I wrote it years ago and often wondered if I should write the story behind that one snapshot. Not sure if I ever will but…let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Em x

—

She watched him from afar, afraid to walk closer and disturb the quiet of the fading day. Twilight was showing on the horizon, making the dark blue of the sky fade into the deep blue of the ocean.

Nick had been there for hours now and she had been sitting in her car for the same amount of time, the radio turned off, the windows closed. Everything still and silent as she waited for him.

Waited for him to get back to the real world, away from his dark thoughts.
She didn’t know what to do: should she go to him and ask him to tell her what was wrong? Explain to her what he was going through?

She just hoped she could help. Except she wasn’t even sure she had the right to do that. Not any longer.

She sighed and watched the still figure on the shore, darkness engulfing him. Yet she could still depict the way his body was hunched, his head in his hands.
For once in his life, he wasn’t sitting in front of the ocean, admiring the view, feeling the water soothe him.

No, for once, it wasn’t working.

She had seen him take his shoes off to walk slowly on the beach, letting the cool water brush his feet. She had smiled at the sight, that was so…him.
But now, it was night and he was still sitting there, his shoes lying haphazardly at his side. And she imagined the cold sweeping his naked toes. But still he didn’t move. Didn’t put back his shoes on, didn’t shake from the cold.

No, he just sat there, unmoving, unwavering. His gaze lost in the sea.

As if in a trance, she got out of the car and walked towards him. Then she stopped, suddenly unsure. What if he rejected her? Again.
Shaking her head to clear it, she kneeled in front of him, blocking his view. His eyes blinked, she saw them blink but he didn’t say anything. Didn’t acknowledge her presence as if she was only a ghost or a figment of his imagination.

“Nick?”

A few minutes passed, the silence punctuated only by the sound of the waves softly crashing below them. Nothing happened. He didn’t move, she didn’t move. He didn’t respond.
She looked down at his feet and spied the now blue toes, making her gasp in pain. Pain for him, for what he was enduring.
Impulsively, she rested her hands on his feet, trying to warm the cold skin.

And that’s when he looked up at her.

“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice shaking. It was probably the first words he had said in hours, possibly days.

“Your feet were cold.”

He blinked again, confusion sweeping his face. Then something happened: he smiled softly and said, “Thanks.”

I never thought we’d make it to the knuckles.

But, then again, I never thought we’d try.

I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend Sweet read a fisting story I wrote called Slowly, Carefully. It’s flash fiction–we’re talking under 300 words, here–but despite its length, this story had a huge impact on Sweet. Just further proof that size doesn’t matter among transgendered lesbians… *grin*

Slowly, Carefully focuses on the emotional component of fisting. Me, I’m more of a “yeah, fuck me, baby, anytime, anyplace” kind of gal, but to Sweet, the feely has to come before the touchy. So, now that she’s read this story showcasing the bonding aspect of a particular sex act, of course she’s determined to try it.

I’m young-ish, no kids, so my feelings around fisting have always been, “I’ve got a good thing going with this body. Why ruin it?” The increased appeal of fisting, for me, has come alongside the grounding of my sexual identity. If I’m a lesbian, what do I need a tight pussy for? Nobody’s going to be fucking it. *grin*

So, with Sweet and I firmly planted in the pro-fisting camp, the act keeps rearing its colossal head. We’re working our way there. It could simply be that I have an especially sensitive lover, but so far I’ve had no pain or tearing whatsoever. (Is that too much information? Sorry.) It’s a slow-going process, but well worth the time for the interpersonal connection fisting has helped us deepen.
My advice to anybody thinking about fisting is to take your time. Take a lot of time. For Sweet and I, it hasn’t been a one-time event. We’ve been working at it for weeks. Now, recall that my partner, as a trans woman, doesn’t share my dainty little hooves. Honestly? She’s got big-ass man hands. That’s okay, it just means the process takes a little longer.

I’m the world’s biggest proponent of petroleum jelly (or a strong water-based lube if you’re using gloves), but Sweet’s outlook is, “You get so wet on your own! Why use lube?” Right. Okay. So, we’ve been going the bare-hands-no-synthetic-lube route. Thank god she’s gentle. If she weren’t this process would not work.

Oh, another piece of useful advice: Take off rings. Yikes.

Today, we reached a new peak in the process: Four fingers to the knuckles. No synthetic lube. And when I say, “take your time,” I mean we worked at this for nearly two hours.

Fisting is not a mad passionate event. It’s more along the lines of tantric sex, at least for Sweet and I. There has to be a tremendous amount of trust between partners to achieve this feat. It’s a collective goal. I would say fisting has generated bonding feelings between us more than any other sex act…

…except kissing…

*smile*

Bright Blessings,

Today is a typical summer day in Iowa, hot and humid. It’s forecasted to get up into the low 90’s . Summer is officially here! This last Monday, the excessica anthology: Four Seasons: Summer 2009 came out. As one of the contributing authors for this, I was excited to write a hot summer read.

Since my thoughts were turned towards a summer themed story, I couldn’t help but think about last summer. Unfortunately my area was gripped by a massive flood in June of last year. Over a hundred blocks of my hometown’s downtown district flooded along with all seven of the street bridges which connected the south side of town and north side were under water. At eleven feet over flood stage even a train trestle with loaded train cars was lost to the flood waters. It quite literally shut the town down. With 10,000 people evacuated and several of our major businesses under water, namely Quaker Oats and Fire and Casualty and we could do nothing but find shelters for the displaced people and pray for the water to subside.

It was devastating and as writer I toyed with the idea of writing something about it but it was too hard for me at that time. But when I sat down to work on my contribution for this anthology, I felt the need again to write about it but not as a tragedy that was on going. Why not visit two survivors of the flood? Hence, Alessandra and Noah from A Moment Out Of Time came to life. Alessandra was a spunky fireworks expert who worked for a demolition and fireworks company and Noah was a sexy but protective firefighter and rescue worker. Setting the background was a challenge but I think I managed to blend a few flashbacks with the scenes set a year later. Including the train trestle collapse seemed to be a fitting even though as a writer I took the liberty of placing a stranded worker (Alessandra) on the trestle and Noah coming to her rescue. As far as I am aware there were no people near the trestle when it collapsed. The story is continued when they meet nearly a year later. Noah believing he’s lost Alessandra is unprepared for when he meets up with her on a routine inspection. He decides he’s not going to lose her again and as they say the rest is history.

By adding a bit of romance and undisguised passion, I hope I’ve set a fitting tribute to my hometown and perhaps even brought a bit of light to the tragedy. My intention was never to dishonor the people who are still recovering and trying to resume their lives even now, but to draw some attention to those who’ve survived the flood. I want to especially thank Selena for taking this story and adding it to her anthology. For those who might be interested I’ve included a link to a short video my local news station put together. Thanks all for letting me take this time to pay a little tribute to those who lost so much a year ago. June 13th is the official date for the one year anniversary of the floods.
