I believe the true artistry of a creator extends beyond simply crafting a piece of art; it lies in their ability to navigate the intricate emotional currents that flow through their audience. When the same design is presented to individuals from various backgrounds and cultures, it becomes a fascinating exploration of human perception and emotion.

Each encounter with the artwork reveals unique reactions, shaped by the viewers' personal experiences, cultural contexts, and environmental influences. Over the years, my observations have deepened my understanding and propelled me into an entirely new dimension of artistic exploration. Tour Article Number Five - Kanneliya

This article is about Kanneliya, a forest reserve in southern Sri Lanka. This forest corridor once has been linked with Sinharaja rain forest but has aparted later. This forest was named as a forest reserve in the year 1934 by no 8262 gazette paper. This forest which owns about 5305 hectares is categorized as a secondary forest. Those who visit should first come to Labuduwa, Galle. The start point can be reached by a vehicle after travelling about 14 km and tickets are issued at the entrance. After that you can walk into the forest with a guide and you have to pay a reasonable amount to forest department for that. The payment for the guide will be changed according to the route that you choose. Here are the different routes that you can choose.

Cave Trail - 1.5 km distance within 01-hour period of time.

Ella Trail - 2.3 km distance within 03-hour period of time.

Giant Puswela Trail - 2.3 km distance within 03-hour period of time.

Giant navan̆dagasa Trail - 5.2 km distance within 03-hour period of time.

Naran Trail - 5.2 km distance within 06-hour period of time.

Kabbalē mountain trail - 5.5 km distance within 06-hour period of time.

In 2005, when I travel the fees of Guidance for the routes having maximum three hours of period and maximum distance of 2.3 kilometers was 250 rupees per. Fees for every other routes Rs.500 of minimum fee was charged. In addition, the prize of the ticket was Rs, 30..

The forest has been named a “Man and Biosphere Reserve “by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Conservation. The forest consists of 5108.2 hectares of closed forest , 168.4 hectares of open forest and 29.3 hectares of cultivated forest. once there has been a pine cultivation for use as timber and also timber had been taken for made of thin wood timber, But now such things are prohibited legally.

It is said that the ground is consists of Khondalite rocks which is mixed with Charnockite rocks. In this forest, large number of endemic plants and animals can be seen. But if you want to see animals and birds, you have to behave yourself without making noise. Okay, now let’s move on to our itinerary into the forest.

On our way to the entrance of the forest from Labuduwa, we saw a cultivation of oil palm which is used to extract oil. This plant belongs to the Palm category. Though the tree looks like Palmyra palm tree, the sprig of fruit look different Fruits are much smaller than the palm fruit.

Soon after entering from the main gate, we were able to see a Lizard. After observing it we walked little bit slowly because one of our fellow member was unable to walk fast because he had faced to a operation. Then we come to the cave and it was scary to enter the cave because of the darkness of the inside. It was said that once the cave was a kingdom of bats and by the time we visit bat population had been decreased by a considerable amount. After visiting the cave, we went to see the Giant “Puswala“ . On our way we observed “Gondiwa” plant and large number of “Bandura” plants which is the famous Parasitic plant. Also we were able to see the vine called “Gonikee vela” whis is medicine plant. The guide explained that the “Gonike vela “ is medicine for the pain of the body and people who are beaten by the police are given the boiled water of “Gonike vela”

The Giant “Puswala” has a great history. It is said that the giant “Puswala” was there from 500 years. The stem has divided into two parts at the beginning.Now a large area has owned by the vine. If observed well, several ending points of the vine can be noticed.

When we travel passing the giant “ Puswala” , we saw a Green Vine Snake considered as poisonous bit sitting on bushes. I should mention here there is mithe telling that this creature jump to eye when it see someone. The guide acted immediately and caught the creature so that we can observe it. We asked him that isn’t this creature is toxic and he said now they have got used to it. Also he showed us toxic plants called “ Maha Badulla”, “ Kaha Badulla” and “ Kabara Badulla”. He explained that if we touch those plants that area will be subjected to ulcer. He said the even walking under “ Kabara BAdulla “ plant is dangerous. Also he introduced us the five types of “ Keena” plants called “ Domba Keena” , “Guru Keena” , “ Walu Keena” “ Batu Keena” and “Napath Keena”. Meanwhile, a snake called “ Haldanda” was creeped fast from “Miwana” plant.

Ella was there to look out anagimala. Got to know the unknown story about the coming season Venivel plant. It's Venivel plants in two different male and female as clearly different between the two species that pollinate take place should be near the two plants. We left that place to visit the “Anagimala” Ella. On our way we saw “ Weniwal” plant and heared a story that we hadn’t heard before that the “Weniwal” plants have two separate species for male and female. To pollination process two species of male and female should grow close by. Also we saw a “Naav” plant which offspring only once per life time. A died “Derana” tree was found with a big hole which had been used to extract oil. This “Derana” oil had used for painting works at temples to make the surface of the painting shine and for protection of art. When we reach “Anagimala” Ella our weariness was disappeared

Though it is possible to climb to the top of the “Anagimala” Ella during dry season it is very dangerous to try the same in rainy season. We climbed the waterfall to half way and came back because of our hunger. So we ate some biscuits with Banana at the bottom of waterfall. It was interesting to see that a crab was ran after catching a piece of Banana that we threw and we were curious what it is going to do next. Then I caught a prawn so that those who haven’t seen a one can observe it. But I didn’t kill it.

The tiny streams starts in this forest creates “ Kanneli Ela” , “ Nannekitha Ela “ and “ Udugama Ela” which feed “Gin Ganga” . Also the “ Hulandawa Ela” which flows through the reservation feed the “Nilwala Ganga”. We saw the largest “MIwana” plant in the Sri Lanka in this forest.

We were able to enjoy the tour a lot because we didn’t use alcohol or cigarettes. Also we didn’t harm the nature. You can also visit this forest and enjoy it. But do not destroy it and preserve it for future generation.

Tour Article Number Sixty Three - Nipponzan Peace Pagoda - Ampara

Nipponzan Peace Pagoda is one of the most peaceful and beautiful temple located in Ampara which is famous among people and a recommended place to visit.

In 1885-1985 time, there was a monk called Nichidatsu Fuji who was the founder of Npponzan Myohoji Buddhist order. And later when he met Mahathma Ghandhi in 1931, he started a project to spread the peace in whole world. It was started by building peace pagoda in 1947. It was build according to the mahayana Buddhist culture with Stupa, Bo tree and image house. By 2000, 80 peace pagoda have been built all over the world. In our small country, we have four Peace pagoda located in Ampara, Galle, Adam’s peak and Walapane area.

27th of February, 1988 was the opening date of Amara peace pagoda. The Ampara peace pagoda is bordered to Ampara tank from one side. If you try to reach this place from Ampara you have to travel 3km along the Ampara - Inginiyagala Road. There is a straight pathway to Stupa from the entrance of the temple. But we have to be careful while travelling along this path because wild elephants cross the road. Wild elephants are a common scene in this area because they come to tank for drinking water. So we must behave ourselves without disturbing to their life.

In the evening time there is a sermon and after that a Japanese monk distributes sweets.Therefore this place is very famous among children in Ampara area .The building structure of the temple together with the peaceful environment of the area create a beautiful image and if you want to relax your mind, then this is a great place for that.

Nothing is Impossiable if you have right tools

After some time because of the final exams here I am again on blogging. First of all i must say this article was created because I saw one video. That gets tears in my eyes. But when I saw that i feel and my mind remind me that the words I have always says. That is "Nothing Is Impossible If You Have Right Tools". In this words I have always used to say because it gave me the strength to to do everything what I have gain. First I would like to share that video. I think most of people may have seen it. But the words that they are saying must understand and the words that they do not use is also.

Most of my friends know that the term that I had used. What is it? This is the question. The term is only one sentence with a particular meaning. But do you ever try to understand it and do you try to use it? Then the answer will be NO. Why? Because you will never try to use them beyond your rules and regulation.

Now I must say most of you will Stop reading this because this is useless and waste of time. But if you are interested let me continue this.

Now, considering above problems I have great experiences with them. when I tell this term to my friends they were always ask what is that. I'm just said try to understand with your self. Then after they will ask what is this we can't understand. Same will say by you. that because you do not try to understand.

Now let me explain little by little. Fist the term says "Nothing is impossible". That is just like it says. Everything is possible. But in here conditions were applied as "If you have right tools". So for everything is possible we had to have right tools. so it is easy.

Then you will ask me another question. Like you now thought.That is "what are the tools?". Good question.

hmmmmmm

Simply I can say that tools are the things which makes easy your works. Here is the Definition of tools. "A device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function."

so tools can made by your self to get easier your woks. so to do something just you have to make your own tools and get work done. So after that you can say that Nothing Is Impossible If You Have Right Tools. For that you just need the knowledge to make tools only. So never tell that the things cannot be done. If it is because of your laziness.

Astronomical onbservation campaign in FAS

Faculty of Applied Sciences in South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, I do not have a chance to speak about it recently. Because of works and studies. Now here is a program conducted by me for the faculty. this is only a try to show stars to the Sciences Students. Astronomy is a vast subject than we thought. in that case i have decided to conduct a astronomical observation campaign. As a one undergraduate I cant do it alone. because our universities need verification for the programs. So I have decided to work with Students Union in Faculty of Applied Sciences.

I hope there will be hundreds of people but unfortunately there are nearly 80 people only. For astronomical observation we cant choose a date. we have to get a date that we have clear sky. So thinking about that point we choose 18th of July, 2013 at 4.30pm as our program date and time. I expect to invite Astronomer Dayasiri Perera as chief guest and conduct a lecture about Astronomy. But unfortunately he is unable to come here because of he was busy.

But Me and my crew who is in Astronomical Association was came here and conduct the program and we were listen to the questions they had. After the observation they ask questions about the things they have ever wanted to ask. and we try to answer all the questions as much as possible according to our knowledge. We are lucky to observe Moon and Saturn. But Venus was gone in that time because of the trees. Without any economical profit we conduct this because of the faculty was the my studying place. I like to thank for the ameture astronomer Anura Bandara. And also thank to the Mr. Senevirathna, Mr Darshana Tharanga and Mr. Chaminda k. Ganegedara. This program is conducted to give some knowledge about the things we can not see on our naked eye. I wanted to tell you that there are things beyond us. try to observe them.

Tour Article Number Forty Five - Athamala Ella Falls

This waterfall was feet in height. There was an amazing story behind this name. Once upon a time this path across the river was an elephant path. So and so on one day one giant elephant was fallen down from the falls and came death. so since that day this falls is called "Athamala Ella". It means tha falls caused death to the elephant.

To visit this place we can use two subways. one is Pitabaddara - Siyambalagoda road and other one is Nilella Estate road. But those two ways join before 3km to the falls. This waterfalls creating by giant water stream in the Nilwalla river. and also creating vapory environment near the falls and big pond also. from through the small hole we can come closer to the falls. but I must say climbing waterfall is too dangerous.

Top of the falls is another way around. we can use another way to come to the top. there was old power house. but that was cast aside and now there is only ruins. First villagers create the power house to take electricity to the village. but then the responsibility goes to the provincial council. then they did it for few years. after that villagers got electricity my other ways. then powerhouse was cast aside.

anyways this area was amazing place to visit. Sound of birds and falling water creates amazing natural music to our naked ear and it will charm our minds.

Tour Article Number Two - Tour to Katharagama

This tour was arranged just for joy of our life. We try to travel from Ambalangoda to Katharagama by motor bikes. We hope to attend to the oblation at 12 p.m. on the Kataragama Dewala premises. We started our journey by tribute to the Sinigama Dewalaya on the way and then from the Dewndara. This tribute was a tradition and for aspiration for good luck for the journey. As we expected we have a long journey ahead. and we spend our time in few places because of tiredness. Then here we are in Katharagama and as we expected we were lucky to attend to the oblation at 12 p.m. in Maha Dewalaya.

After the oblation we wish to have a bath on Thissa wewa. But we heard that was dangerous on the wewa at those days. So we choose the channel from the wewa to have a bath. And after that we have our lunch from nerby boutique. That was a awesome experience in the water and we were tired enough to have a big plate for lunch. :D

Than after we went to find a cheap and good lodge to have some sleep. Because we wish to watch and feeling aesthetic of the Katharagama Perahara at that night. then we go here and there for a lodge and finally we found a place to rest. Nearly at 7 p.m. we found a place to have the ultimate experience of watching the katharagama Dewala Perahara. We have lot of fun from the perahara and that was awesome. nearly 2 a.m the perahara was ended from our sights and we walk to the lodge to have some sleep and we discussed about returning home.

And next day morning at 9 a.m. we went to Sella Katharagama and do our praying (not me :P) and then we turn to way home. An always at the police barriers my university identity card was helped me to get there work done quickly and on the way we went to the Hummanaya which is located on the Kudawella area on Mathara district. Hummanaya was a blow hole near the sea. In nearby there was a Kudawella habour also. At 9 p.m. we were again in Ambalangoda and we devided to our homes by keeping happy feelings about our successful journey.

Tour Article Number One - Nawagiyawa Lake

This article was about tour to the Nawagiyawa lake which is located in Ampara Gonagolla area. This was a place I visited a long time ago. From Ampara Mahaoya road turn left from the Gonagolla junction then road ahead to the Nawagiriyawa lake. On that Days Lake was drying. So we are able to ride our motorcycles on the lake. It was a fantastic journey. When lakes were drying, some people dig the lake and try to make bricks from that soil. But these poor people think we are from the government so they were scared. But one of my friends knows them and told that we aren’t from the government. Then problem solved.

After that we seek place to fishing. Sometimes we sink on mud with bikes. Then lift the bikes and takeout. It was too tired but by thinking of the journey ahead that was a nothing. So we go through the lake and fond some place. But fishing is not for us. We were catching two or three fish from the lake. After disappointed on the fishing we go to see the place that the lake was divided on the dry season. Unfortunately that was not succeeded because of the some rocks were ahead and we can’t go through. So we have to stop the journey today and one day I hope to visit this place.

And there were lot of tales about this lake I wont to seek but that was getting dark. So we end our journey and return to home. But that was amazing experience in my life on those days. But now that was nothing by comparing my journeys.

Tour Article Number Thirty Three - Morning Side

When we travel nearly 6 kilometers from the Suriyakanda to Deniyaya in Galle Rathnapura road we can see the direction notation to this area. This is uphill road which is very difficult to drive without motorcycle or four wheel drive vehicle. But we choose three wheeler to visit this place. But development projects were never seen this area. Sometimes we lift the wheels because of the mud. However we derived nearly half of the tour. Then we decide to walk to the top.

Feel the environment and through the jungle we were in our journey without knowing the end of the road. Sometimes my crew was tried to drop it and turn around because of tiredness and the hungry. But for me it gets mo curiosity to seek what is the end of this road. But from the jungle guava found from the road side was release our hungriness and gave another life to travel ahead. We walked nearly 5 kilometers from the vehicle parked place. But the news found from the Morning Side research bungalow is “This is the Morning Side and you can see Morning Side tea estate 2kilometers ahead”. From that we tried to stop our journey but it was just 2 kilometers so we continued our journey to the estate.

However we decided to visit the estate also. So when we traveled through the jungle road, we heard water flows, birds. But Elephant faeces on the road were gave us fear. Morning Side estate was nearly 0.2 hectare and planted on 2008. Time was nearly 3.30pm so we turn to our rest places. But for the sound come from waterfall was changed the route again.

That was very beautiful waterfall nearly 15 or 20 meters with height. But it was enough to remove our tiredness from our bodies. After the cool rest we started speedily come to the home. Like they said it was morning at the all time we spend there. That was amazing climate in that area comparing Deniyaya, Suriyakanda areas which are located around the Morning Side area. But for the travelers I must say that the journey to the Morning side was difficult because of uphill roads.

Tour Article Number Thirty Two - Kiridi Ella falls

Always we can see this waterfall from the Rathnapura Pelmadulla Road. In Sri Lanka this is the seventh highest waterfall with 116 meters. This falls was started from the Kuttapitiya mountain which is height of 940 meters. Turn to the Kuttapitiya road from the Rathnapura Pelmadulla road and travel nearly 5 kilometers, there it is. In there we can see the board and turn from there and take the narrow steps to the bottom of the falls.

Steps begin from the top level of the waterfall. Take nearly 450 steps to the bottom. But we have to be careful with these steps because they are slippery, narrow and sometimes we have to go over the slippery rocks. But when we come to the end of the steps we feel this is not the time waste. Because this falls was very beautiful enough to flow away our tiredness. We went to the very bottom of the falls and because of the rainy period this is full with the water. But careful, because in this area there are lots of poisonous snakes and also we can see endemic fishes.

There was another thing we seen, that is dead dog comes from the top of the waterfall. After we feel the environment and return to home. But when we seen the road ahead we were bored but we were done it. When we seen the main road again we have independently happy feelings, because we done this adventures tour to the Kirindi ella falls.

Go and visit these things make our country’s uniqueness from the whole world. You have to visit your own to these places to get those feelings. But I must say do not destroy the environment with polythene and also do not take drugs or alcohol to this places. Protect the environment and feel it.

Tour Article Number Thirty One - Buddhangala Monastery

Buddhangala Monastery lies in the thick jungle about 7 kilometers off Ampara. Monastery covers nearly 1200 acres. We can see remains of the ancient monastery covering 5 rocks. This area was belongs to Digamandulla Kingdom which was started by Dighayu in the 4^th century BC. According to Ven. Ellawala Medhananda thero, this monastery was older than the Digamadulla Kingdom.

This area was covered by thick jungle for thousands of years and in 1964 by a brave Bikku called kaluthara Dhammananda was cleared this area and again started the monastery. When the escalations goes on the original Stupa, they found the relics that believe that belongs to Saripuththa and Moggallana who is the chief disciples of Buddha. But here the real name was unknown.

When the terrorist era they were trying to destroy the monastery. And tamils and muslims try number of times to destroy the monastery and to build a tank called “Hijra”. Because of the rock looks like Buddha’s laying position the tamils and musslims used to called it as “Buddhankalei” and then Sinhalease also called it as “Buddhangala”. Inside the jungle there are lots of ruins. But in my travels I am unable to travel for these ruins. But I will give details later for you.

Tour Article Number Thirty - Pareiyan Ella

I visited my blog after long time because of the second year final semester examinations in the university . Soon after exams I traveled seeking a place called Katugahagalge. That is a temple which has a historical value. But that day I was heared that Minister was there so we abort the journey and went to see this waterfall. My brother and one of my friend joined for the journey.

This waterfall is located in Buththala Badalkumbura road before 4 kilometers to Badalkumbura town. This is the board put by the provincial ministry of tourism in Uva province. After turning from here and we went through the cultivated lands to reach this place.

This is a nice and calm place to visit. First we climbed down some steps and found a small waterfall, height of two feet. I thought what is this' But when we walked along the bank of river we found the waterfall that we were searching for.There, the waterfall is divided in to two. This is a nice place and I climbed rocks to reach the top of the fall. The view is fantastic and that was a just perfect place for see the waterfall.

However now this place is visited by lovers. But I must say don't do any undesirable things in here. Because sometimes these places will be visited by children. And also keep these places clean when yo visit. Welcome to see this places with great honer.

Tour Article Number Twenty Nine - Owagiriya Rajamaha Viharaya - Pelwatte

This is a Historical place which is located in Horabokka village. To visit this place you have to go to Pelwatte junction of Uva province and turn to Passara road. After traveling nearly 3 kilometers, you will find the place. History of the temple goes up to the king Dutugamunu period , that was 128 Cristian era. Yudaganawa is located only 6km away from this area. I will tell about Yudaganawa from another post. It believes that Yudaganawa was the battle field for the war between Dutugamunu prince and Saddhatissa Prince. History says that “Arahath” monks was meditating on this rock and they saw the war among the princes. Then they advised prices from here. In sinhala "Owa" means advice and "Giri" means rock. From that this place got the name as "Owagiri".

It is said that there were three roads made with steps to the top of rock earlier and there was a “ Ektam geya” type temple building which was built on rock columns to be protected from the animals. But in here I am very sad about behavior of the people. First, the environment here has been polluted by people. Also some ruins which has a archeological value has been covered with jungle.and new buildings have been constructed on the old places. So these archaeologically valued places are destroyed without proper investigations.

I was heard that the people who developed roads destroyed a epigraph which was on the rock. and also there plants have been grown. some thing here. This plants will destroy the steps soon. But people put them in here recently.

However my university identity card helped me to prove my identity to the chief monk. If it was not there, definitely they could have refused to tell anything to me. because of the thieves. But this was not the first experience I have met with this kind of situations because of treasure hunters.

Tour Article Number Twenty Seven - Galabedda Biso Pokuna

When you ride from Monaragala to Ampara, after 10 kilometers you can see this notice and there was the pond located in.

This pond was belongs to Sugala Devi, who was a local princess in 12th century. The pond was made up on rock and there was a tunnel system to fill the pond. And there was a four Dragon mouths open to the pond to fill the pond. So because of these things this place was become as a very beautiful place. This was taken different art when we consider about the other ruins in this area.

And there was an ancient toilet which made from the rock caving. And this is also famous because of uniqueness. And there were signs for the rock columns around the pond.

This place is located in 6km away from Ampara in Ampara-Kandy road. we can see two boards beside the road. One for Cave temple and the other road is for Pirivena. But this two places were connected through the jungle. This place is famous as historical place in the area.

When we ask about history of the temple, there is no good answer for that. because all of the investigations by Department of Archaeology has been stopped in here at long time ago. But it has been said that the history goes to the era of King Saddathissa who was the king in this area.

There is a “Kataram” Cave with a Buddha statue inside it which is special for this area because of the different features that are not common to area . Ruins of Stupa, caves etc can be found here and there in the jungle area .There is a epigraph and it says “Nisimi” but I do not know what is the meaning of that.

In the cave there is a marble Buddha statue without head and hands. But there are signs that they were connected to the statue. The notices that has been published by archeology department were also now ruined because they have stopped visiting this place a long time ago. But taking care of this place is important.

And I must say that there are lots of places which have been neglected by the archeological department. But I am unable to search about those people because villagers do not trust strangers. And also I can’t describe and prove my ambition to them properly. So they do not like to say any word about the places and the history about those places. But I will try to do my best to give details about some places which can be done with my capacity. Awubovan….. !

Oh... Another Year........

Another year was almost finish. All the people try to have a party. I also. But due to studies I am unable to attend the party. Anyway be careful with all of those things.

Year is gone. We can be happy. But we have to say sorry for the past year. Because of the some things we have done in the past year. But most of the people says that the year was gone too fast. I thinks the same. For me 2012 January was like yesterday.

Today I have to do some little things like What I did in the past year. New friends, the things i got success. But there is also some things that I did wrongly. If I can correct them.... But it is impossible. I try to do the right things in the new year as much as possible.

Anyway this is the last post for this year. And I wish this will be a year that do not met with any kind of bad things for you all who join with my experiences blog. I try to make sure that my studies and the tours around Sri Lanka will be get more success in this year.

And wish your all thoughts may gone with Humanity and to make a world with good persons with Humanity.

Speedly on 18 bends road.....

All people who traveled from mahiyanganaya – Kandy road will go through the 18 bends road. In the mid of the 19^th centuary, British government build this road as a supply road. But now it was constructed and created with two ways. As my thoughts, it is a luxury way comparing with the old one.

In the past we have to spend 4 hours but now its only one and half hours journey. when the constructions goes on, one bend was removed. So there are only 17 bends from the old road. But when we travel we can count as a 18 because they connect another bend outside from the old bends.

After the opening I was traveled several times to kandy through the 18 bends. But the odyssey and the Happiest journey goes by my bike. Hero Honda Glamour-FI takes only 10 minutes to up and 9 minutes to down for the all 18 bends. Here is the video when I was traveled by bike to up and down. Tour Article Number Twenty Five - Buduruwagala

When we travel on the Wallawaya Thanamalvila road, we can turn from the 48 mile post and go nearly 4 kilometers then we can arrive to the Buduruwagala temple. This place was hidden a long time in the woods but now it is little bit open. In present days this is the statue that made on the existing rock. Main statue is nearly 46 feet high and there are 6 more statues. This rock is nearly 70 feet long.

This place was named as Buduruwagala because of this main statue what is made of stone. From there arts, we can say that this place was go to 8-9 centuries in the history. This statue shows demi relief manner. And from the main statue there are three bodhisattva statues for the each side. From the characteristics of the main statue, there is idea that this is a “Deepankara Buddha” statue.

To the right of the main statue, in the middle there is an “Awalokitheshwara” bodhisattva statue (25 feet high) with its left “Thara devi” statue (21 feet high) which shows “Thribhanga” style and with its right “Sudhana Kumara” statue (23 feet high) was created. According to “Mahayana Buddhism” that the “Thara devi” was “Awalokitheshwara” bodhisattva’s wife. So artist was shows the charm of the women that the statue he was created as “Tara devi”.

To the left of the main statue, in the middle there is a statue of the “Mithree” bodhisattva (25 ½ feet high) who became Buddha in the future. On its left “Wajrapaani” statue (22.4 feet high) and its left with “Manju Sri” statue was created. from the “Manju Sri” statue they token erudition and from the “Wajrapaani” statue, the sound of dharma and the protection. As result of the tight of the stone, mouth of the statue was rectangular shaped and the wrinkles of robe is also show the same thing because it was made from the chunam paste.

When we see these statues in the middle of the jungle our thoughts get peace for a little time. Result of the time the nature and the things were changed. So we are unable to recognize the things that the history try to say us. However these statues were still in placed in the original places having there all respects from the Buddhists.

Tour Article Number Twenty Four - Bogoda Bridge

Bogoda Bridge? What was that? We heard about that but do not know about that. Here about that bridge. This bridge is located in Badulla district. And this is a very beautiful place to visit but little bit difficult way to travel because of narrow roar. first go to Haliela then turn to the Etampitiya road few kilometers ahead you will find the Bogoda Rajamaha Viharaya. Bridge is also in Vihara premises. From the terrace to 100 steps down we can see the bridge and the cave temple.

This is a very special Bridge because of some reasons. One of the most important one is this is the unique bridge which has a roof. Before you come to cave temple you can see this roof from the steps. some of people thinks constructions of this bridge is goes to dambadeni period (1220-1270 ad) but some of them thinks it was kandyan period (1747-1780 ad) by Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe who is the king in that period. However this bridge is the one and only bridge which construct only from the wood. And it was 50 feet long and 6 feet with the width.

Another thing is this bridge has a roof with made by wood which is 8 feet high. And it has wooden engravings which is similar kandyan period engravings. Bridge was used to get a beautiful finish to the lebensraum. And here do not use any iron nails, only used wooden unions. Bridge was on two wooden logs. There is a banister to keep safe the passengers.

This bridge was joining the Maha Kumbura and Kekatiya Maluwa villages. And the bridge was still there vigorously. And there is epigraphs say that the cave near the temple was used to hide by the king Walagamba. And there is an idea that the residence places for the monks were constructed by the King Rajasinghe.

A Blood Donation Campaign…..

I choose the name as a blood donation campaign; because this is one of the different blood donations I have ever seen in my life. That is organized by us, students of the south eastern university of Sri Lanka faculty of applied sciences. This is our third time. In here I saw a rare thing that was our Muslims also given blood. This is a thing I have personally appreciated. Because they are usually do not like to donate blood. I think they do not know what is it and what are the benefits they got from that. That is the reason they do not like to give blood or there will be other things. Whatever I hope this is only a beginning. Now I will explain a little about what is the blood donating.

Normally human body contains 6 l of blood and in the donation of blood we take only 350-450 ml. That will use to save lives. As a Buddhist this is a meritorious deed. And there are people who think when they donate blood there will be disease affected to the body. This is a wrong idea. If the equipments are clean, donator is well healthy there is no side effect. Do not worry about that. But when the blood was take out there is little difficult at that time. Because the decrement of the volume of the body liquid. And also fainting, protuberance in the place that the blood taken. So we have to be careful for three days from the blood donated day. Do not try to do any tiredness things to the body.

What are the benefits from the donating blood? This is the important part of the blood donating. Because everybody asks for benefits before they start any kind of work. When we donate blood, new blood was creating. That is the main thing. This blood is very energetic that old blood. For that process our body gets nearly 120 days. Another thing was there that the all persons cannot give blood. The person who donates blood should have at least 50kg weight and 18-55 ages can only give blood. If the person affected with any infectious deceases or sexual deceases they are unable to donate blood. If do not pass 3 months when you face deceases such as malaria, hepatitis, mumps, chicken pox, etc. normally we can give blood the period of 3 months. But I recommended it as 4 months.

What did they do to you blood? They use them do give to the people who met with Accidents, and the people with lack of blood. Do you know that in the world one person request blood per every 3 seconds? And in the hospitals one person from the admitted persons need blood. This blood cannot make so it was very valuable. For a year 405million of Americans die because of come short of blood. The doctor who partook our campaign is said that they save three lives from that blood which given by donator. So give blood and save life.

Anyway donating blood is a valuable thing to do. For our campaign we invited to Kalmunei, Ashroff memorial hospital and Ampara general hospital. I would like to thank all doctors and others who came to the campaign. Also like to thank to police officers Sammanthurei and Air force officers in Malwaththa camp who came to donate their blood. And thanks for the brothers and sisters who donated their blood. Thanks for the all people who helped to success this work.

Tour Article Number Twenty Three - Hingurana Sugar Factory

Hingurana is located 12km from Ampara in the Ampara Siyambalanduwa road. If you want to go to the factory it is in 350m from the Hingurana roundabout. This is closed for some time but now the machines are working again. Now this is started as private factory join with the Gal Oya plantations. I have opportunity to visit this factory from my friend whose father is working in here. When I go to this factory, the machines are stopped working. However they helped me to know the procedure of making sugar. This is the things that I understood and the thing in my memory. The photos were linked because it takes long time to load.

First of all this machine is the lifting method of the load of sugar canes. It can lift 10 tons at one time. There are two machines like this. The machines put the load in to these plates and the chains on the plate will move them to this channel. For one time it will put 3 tons for the channel. In first wheel was arranging the sugar canes and burst them a little. After that the next wheel was chopped the sugar cane. Then cut in to pieces of the size of near one inch. These all happens on the moving plate and then it goes to inside of the factory.

Inside the Factory first those goes to allocating the treacle made of sugarcane. In here the chopped cane will grind from these machines. One machine has three sub units which has small channels on it. When cane goes through it, molasses will allocate to the tanks which are positions in the down of the machine. After the waste, was coming through moving plate. All the units in the factory use the steam power, which produces by this boiler. Wood takes for the start the boiler and then uses the waste cane. Long time ago they use the fuel for the engines but now only uses the wood. Then the heat produced was use in this press to make steam pressure to 250 pounds per inch. Then distribute all over the factory. There is a level to see the water level inside the press. Bottom of the boiler has a place to remove charcoal.

Then we go to see the power house of the factory. It’s also works from the steam turbine. This turbine was rotating 6000 rounds per minutes. Whole machines were working by these 440 volts electricity which produces form the power house. But sometimes it takes electricity from the Celon electricity board. But when the factory stopped working then the electricity was give to the Celon electricity board. And also there was a fuse to save the machines from the variation of the electricity. That is taken from old ship and present from the foreign county to Sri Lanka in the D. S. Senanayaka time. This fuse was keeping the Electricity in balanced level.

Allocated molasses will pomp to this big tank then mix the carbide to the tank. Carbide uses for the remove the mud and other colluviums in the molasses. When mixing carbide, they check the pH value by this machine. In the past, they use to this process slaked lime and the sulfur. In the tank the weight limit comes to the 1 ton, and then automatically releases the valve and pump to another place. And there is a meter to count the number of tons for the day. Then the molasses will pump to the steam burners and then heat for high temperature and then give high pressure such as 200 pounds per inch. Inside these burners has number of tubes, and they flow the molasses up and down to get the temperature quickly. And also the tubes were bend like this because to stop the beating of the steam flux. And this big tank use to clean the hard water. It’s doing for save the tubes from the chemical layers which corroded inside the tubes.

Then again there is another tank to collect that molasses. It is always rotating in small speed. In the tank the mud and the colluviums go to deep and clean molasses comes up. Different levels got valves and by the checking pump the clean molasses to another unit in the factory. Impure molasses clean by special machine. This machine was taken for that process. it was a cylindrical one which rotates touching impure molasses. And inside it there is a vacuum system to suck the pure molasses. And the outside of the cylinder has plate with tiny holes. And also when rotating it will clean the outside of the cylinder and remove the colluvium and mud. Load tයem outside the factory.

Then the next unit supposes to do the molasses in to pebbles. And then clean as a sugar. It is doing by given special conditions. And put some chemicals. Those chemicals did not collide with sugar but helps to increase the size of the pebbles. When it makes the pebbles in correct size it will pump to another level and other will go through again in this process. These molasses liquid is always mixing by using rotating axes inside the tanks. Next step is to remove the molasses and dry out the sugar. For that the molasses liquid put in to high pressure and spray through the heated air. For that it used a rotating cylinder. Inside this cylinder have lots of metalplates to increase the surface area. End of this cylinder there is a hole to collect the sugar and sugar dust will collected separately. Then again the sugar dust will use to make liquid and then again in to sugar pebbles.

There is some mechanism to stop the lumpish of the sugar. And then collect to big tanks. From bottom of the tanks there is automatically release 50kg at one time and collect them to gunny bags. Then after all bags goes to stores. And there is a mechanism to cool the water for the factory. That is a pond with sprinklers. One channel goes to factory with cool water and another channel goes to pond with hot water to the pond. If the heat of the pond increases the hot water channel will change and another cool water channel will open for the pond.

Girl’s life is a small world for her. It is started form her parents, changes with her husband and ends with her children. Now you are thinking that what is going to tell me today. Am I writing? First I’ll tell you why I’m going to tell this. It is because of my friends. Now a day’s most of people try to love someone to find there life partner. But in our old times it is not in our culture. First propose and then see horoscopes. If they match then the marriage takes place. But now it is changed.

Now a day’s most of my friends find their love. They even do not know how much of those will ends with the marriage. Because present people thinks love is as an only a word, only a fashion. They do not know the true meaning of love. Today they meet one they love that person then tomorrow another one. Some of boyfriends got several girlfriends. And mobile phones make this problem worst. They do not have any time to do useful thing to country or their future. They only try to talk hours and hours with their love one after another. Oh, I’m going to wrong direction from the story.

So when they become lovers, the boyfriend will put some regulations to girlfriend such as you have to eat like this, dress like this have to these places, do not do these things, etc. But this all the things are which of the things that boyfriend do not like. I have a question. Is there no life for a girl or do not he likes? Think a little. They suffer there life time which they have to enjoy. In childhood they do not have experiences about life so it was dangerous. So parents put some regulations. Then after release them to world when they can understand what is right and what is wrong. But when they got freedom from their parents, they want to have a boyfriend to feel their freedom. But that one also put the regulations and shows some colorful world. Then girl thinks this is the world i was imagined. But it is not. They think to become one, and then we will enjoy our freedom. After the marriage is there any time for freedom? They have to earn money for live and to build a place to live. After that they got children and their works. After all of this things they thinks “Oh god the time was passed for enjoy my life. Now there is nothing left.” then sorrow “I am unable to do those things in my life.” But then it’s all over.

My solution for that is, this is the time for enjoy your life so do it. But keep your things in your limit which is in your culture and understand your parents told you in your childhood. Another thing to think is that will that boyfriend give a freedom for your life in future which is now he did not give you? Meaning of love which I can understand is a something that the couple will help each other to solve their problems and work with better understanding. And they must prepare to face to the future. Love is not the wasting time for chatting only. Think that do you want person who do not care other things except love which they even do not know the meaning of that word?

Think these things in both sides. I have a request from Boyfriends; Give a pleasure for the small world which got your girlfriends. But do not destroy their life, with showing you doing it. And from the girlfriends; do not try to destroy your life to get temporary pleasure for your life.

What we are learning and what we want to learn?

This is the question when we are in-front of the border of the life. There is a simple answer for that. That is we are learning things that we do not want to learn but our parents do.

First of all I must say now a days the children who goes to schools, till the very first day of the school life they can hear only one thing. That is "You must become a Doctor" or "You must become a Engineer". fist starts with grade 5. they said "You must pass grade 5 exams to go to a better school which assigned by the government as a great school". For fulfill their wants children must go to extra classes and always they must study. Sometimes i have seen that the bags of little poor guys. that bags was difficult to lift us also. Because of books. Dear parents do you want them as coolie or else?.

Then after students will be on O/L classes. In that time parents says "My dear you must study hard to get high marks for all subjects in the exams". then again in the A/L, same scenario happens. But the truth is a small amount of students only can go to universities and a very little for medicine or engineering from among them. what about others? They will choose another paths which they never wants to be. Now we are in between several questions. Why was that? How could people work with a profession that field they do not have an interest. I think this is the main reason to get the name for our country as a still developing country.

Now this is my explanation for this matter. We should leave the child to catch their dream on there own. Until they get in to grade 8 or 9, they should have freedom to think with they small, creativity brain. They will recognize their profession and they will chosen by no one except them self. then they will choose their path and let them go with it. then it will create different people with different jobs and specialist for each jobs.

There is something important. All of you who reading this is knows that fire will burn you and it hurts. But I have a question. Did you ever thinks that how did you know that or how did you learn that?. In that moment some people will say "I heard it. So I know that." but get some small time and think a little. Don't you ever burnt. Then you will think and will say "yes!". That was the answer. You know that because you feel the experience. So my point is if you want to know what you can do, is try to do something . And if you want to get the goal for a task. then you should do nothing but everything. then you will be able to do something.

Think about this points and give your idea as a comments. Because I wanted to learn something from you. and that something will be much thing for all readers who reeds my blog articles. and also followers who are with me and who will be with me. Thank you...!

This article is for the travelers. But there is a thing that I want to tell you. There are people who wish to travel all around the world. But they never start it. If you want to climb a hill, you have to put your first step. Then only you can do it. In our people always got dreams which they never try to achieve.

I have my own terms to get success my life. You have to use them also. But there is no limits. One thing is "Nothing is impossible if you have right tools". Some times you were here about this. but I have a question. Do you try to understand what it says? Definitely your mind will say NO. but your mouth says YES. Because you are always try to act as perfect but you are not. And another thing is "If you want to do something you have to learn nothing but everything". This will lead your self to a perfect.

When you are finish some work, you feel that the work is not succeeded. Your fail to do it. But always think that was worked. That is my limit. And I will increase my limits. studying is never ends and do not waste your time for a one thing. Use your brain and try to do new things always. Then you can to be a proud man. And finally I want to say this. Please be use your heart and be kind to people who work with you. help others when you can.

The things what we can learn from the movies

The movies, this is a matter for some of countries because lots of students and children addicted to watching movies without purpose. And they lose their studies to watch movies and drama. But never learn anything. They know only the names of actors and actresses. Why these things happen.

And some sort of students knows the story what produced from the director’s multinational idea. But some of stories are about myth only. Now I am going to talk about lessons we can learn from these movies. And they show us that how the society is acts. For that you have to differentiate the story of the directors and the story of the Society. Now you will ask me a question. Is that possible?

Yes, Indeed. It is possible. In my lips always have a saying? “Nothing is impossible if you have right tools”. There are two movies that I can remind at ones. One says how to teach and other one says how to learn. First one is “Taare Zameen par” and the second one is “3 idiots”. Likewise there are lots of stories what had a meaning. But unfortunately lots of people watch movies for pleasure only. But there is a story on background which can’t change by director without using studio. The movie tries to show that the imaginable life styles and people that is not available in real world.

So I am trying to say is we need to watch movies but have to think what the things we can gain from the movie are. For an example I learn and improve my English and the Hindi language knowledge by watching movies. And most of woman’s who lives in Arabic countries can speak Hindi because of these Hindi movies.
