Good news, bad news

It’s been a long time since my last post. I have good and bad news for you.

The good news is: Swisscom launched the new Xtra-Zone website today. From what I’ve seen so far, it doesn’t look bad.

But what’s bad about it, is that SMSkyline no longer works with the new website. I don’t know if it is possible to do the same thing with the new website. I will look into this in my spare time. But right now, I can’t guarantee a new version of the widget.

New iMac 24″

For some reason, the flickrRSS plugin on my home page does not update my photos. Otherwise you would have seen my brand new iMac 24″ for a few days now. I ordered the same day it was announced.

I am totally happy with it. It’s incredibly fast and the screen is just awesome. For a long time I wanted a Mac Pro, but the prices were just too high for me. This iMac is the perfect mixture between a Mac Pro and the previous iMac model.

Also new is the completele redesigned Apple Keyboard. It’s really slim, but ideal for typing. The keys are the same ones that are used for the MacBooks.

Eventually I can say, that it’s another great product from Apple. I can’t wait for Leopard to arrive and be tested on my new Mac.

Far from home

One of my recent projects,Â Far from home, is now officially online! Actually it’s the blog of my sister and her husband, who are travelling around in USA and Canada for a year.

They started their journey yesterday in Zurich and first flew to Seattle. If you understand the german language, you can read their diary.Â

I also updated the portfolio with details about the project.

The new beginning…

This is the start! I finally managed to get online with my new website. As you may have noticed some time ago, the domain changed. You can now access my website through http://exquited.com.

A lot has changed in the content. I tried to bring the weblog together with other site contents and put it into the same design. I now officially call WordPress the best Blog software based on PHP. The template engine is really very good, so you can do almost anything you want do.

There is a lot of content, that isn’t online yet. So please be patient. In the next time, the website will be in a static change. I’ll have to try the best methods to present the stuff, so I’ll probably change alot. But it won’t go offline again – I promise.

So, I hope you have fun when you are looking through my website. Enjoy the stay!

Rethink – Reconstruct – Redesign

Tja, so in etwa das steht nÃ¤chstens an.

Ich mÃ¶chte diese WebprÃ¤senz neu aufbauen und ausrichten. Dazu muss ich mir erstmals Gedanken machen und so lange wird diese Seite offline sein. Es kann sein, dass sich der komplette Inhalt und die Zielgruppe fÃ¼r die neue PrÃ¤senz Ã¤ndern wird. Diese Phase des “Rethink” wird wohl viel Zeit in Anspruch nehmen.

Erst nachdem man sich Ã¼ber das Konzept im Klaren ist, kann man anfangen, eine Struktur aufzubauen. Und wenn diese mal steht, beginnt die Arbeit am Design.

Vorgesehen ist also, am 1. Mai 2006 offline zu gehen.

SMSkyline Statusmeldung

Die Programmierung fÃ¼r die Version 1.3 von SMSkyline dauert noch an.

Dem Problem, dass aufgrund der Cookie-Einstellung in Safari, das Versenden der SMS fehlschlÃ¤gt (siehe Kommentare des letzten Eintrags), habe ich mich auch angenommen. Momentan komme ich aber zu keiner anderen LÃ¶sung als die da beschriebene.

Falls jemand irgend einen Vorschlag oder sogar eine LÃ¶sung hat, kann er sich unter smskyline@drumside.ch melden. Danke!

SMSkyline 1.2

Version 1.2 von SMSkyline ist nun zum Download bereit. Die neue Version bringt nur kleine Ã„nderungen mit: Nicknames im Adressbuch werden nun auch unterstÃ¼tzt. Daneben wurden noch ein paar kleine Fehler behoben.

Das nÃ¤chste Update von SMSkyline wird deutlich grÃ¶ssere Ã„nderungen mit sich bringen. Vorraussichtlich wird es noch diesen Monat erscheinen.

Soeben wurde die Blogsoftware aktualisiert. Das Update erfolgte von Version 1.5 auf 2.0.1. Das ist die momentan aktuellste Version von Wordpress.

Ã„nderungen gibt es vorallem im Adminbereich, also im Hintergrund. Manche Teile beinhalten nun auch AJAX, was die Bedienung vereinfacht.
