When Reality Hits

Truth is, I'm not sure if I can update as often anymore. As much as I don't wanna say this year will be a challenging year for me, I cannot help but think it will be. Just like everyone else who has gone through planning a wedding, now it's my turn to get all stressed up and worried. Well, not that I am now. We still have many months to go but I try not to be complacent as I'm aware lots of couples will make early reservations to avoid disappointment. Boy...how I want to make the reservations as early as possible. -_- But.... The fiance has decided to take on an overseas job offer. At first, I also thought "WTH? Of all the year....!" But when he explained to me the purpose, I just wanna be the fiancee who supports him. Of course I may not like it, but some things I just have to believe in.

So yeah...we will be planning this wedding long-distance. That's the challenging part. For now, we have the church and reception venues in mind. But we still haven't done any reservations as we're still expecting the confirmed date. Of course we do have the proposed date but it's still up to the priest to confirm it. We will only be able to attend the pre-wedding course in June. Dear God... please help us...

How I Spent My Christmas..

It was a nice and simple Christmas celebration these past couple of days. Being Catholics, it's only natural for my family and I to attend Mass at church for both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

We arrived one hour before the Mass began on Christmas Eve but the church was already packed. We had to sit outside and it's only by the grace of God that it did not rain. One of the miracles of Christmas.

After the Mass ended, a charity bazaar was held at the nearby parish hall. That's why you see me carrying a few plastic bags in this picture. I bought the blue maxi dress for my engagement day but in the end, decided not to wear it cos the colour wasn't the type of blue that I wanted. Guess it was quite a hurried purchase. So I just wore it that night and paired it with a white short-sleeves cardigan. Not exactly an evening colour but heck, I figured when am I gonna wear it.

So this is what I wore on Christmas day. Although I had the inspirations, deep in my mind I knew it would turn out different than the inspirations. Cos I was aiming for a dress with the right fit first and the cut, second.

After Mass, we headed on to our cousins' places for Christmas open house.

My family and I did the gift exchange in the evening after a simple Christmas dinner. It's always fun to see what everybody got.

But of course, we'll never forget the true meaning of Christmas.. :)

Evening Dresses

Now that I’m engaged, it’s time to gather some inspirations for the quintessential evening dresses from Goddiva. If you ask me, yes! Of course I’m excited. I can’t believe I’ve passed the first stage towards building our lives together. Although the big W is still quite many months away, I think it’s just a good time for me to start doing my search.

Personally, I’m always fascinated by Grecian inspired dress. I think with the right hair, makeup and accessories, anyone can look divine in it.

I love this Grecian Maxi Dress in beige. You can always put on a pair of dangling earrings for an added elegance.

This mint one-shoulder dress has such refreshing colour for a daytime wedding reception. A pair of dangling earrings and beautiful bracelets can make an otherwise simple dress, classy.

Or I can always go for the ever classic strapless evening dress similar to the one worn at the Royal Wedding.

I mean let’s face it. Women are spoilt with choices of evening dresses. We just have to look for one that has the right fit, colour, embellishment and most importantly within our budget.

I can’t wait to have mine.

Christmas tree and gifts

Just our humble mini Christmas tree. Those are some Christmas presents that I've prepared. There are a couple more but they're just quite big to be wrapped. My siblings haven't bought theirs. Hehe. I know it's not always easy to prepare so many gifts considering how much we are going to spend. But the important thing is to create a budget especially for the gifts and stick to it. You will feel more than happy to purchase them.

I'm excited to do this gift exchange. :)

Spending Time

Spent these two days with my fiance. We only get to meet once in a while cos he's just so busy working...and I mean day and night. So it's nice to just go out and make time for each other. I did some Christmas gifts shopping too! Mission accomplished.

Amazingly enough, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and forgot to put the bangle back on. So I went out bangle-less.

Guilty As Charged and some other stories..

Just like the title says.. I'm feeling guilty to my subscribers. Why? Because I'm reverting to my old domain. *Hides in the closet*
I know.. I know... Why do I do this?? All I can say is, I did some bad decision-making. As a result of this bad decision-making (yes, I'm emphasizing this), I saw my traffic fell apart and seriously... I thought I could deal with it. No, I just couldn't. I've maintained this site for quite a few years now. So it will take quite a while (and I mean years) to build it up once again. It's heartbreaking. I know it's just a blog site but I did lose some sleep thinking about it.

Why did I wanna change it at the first place? I think I'll keep the reason to myself. Some things better not to be told. Anyways, I'm reverting to http://fabfashionsense.com. My old domain that is. I've redirected the new domain which is stylefashionsense.com. to the old domain http://fabfashionsense.com. I did this for those who don't wanna go through the hassle of changing it again. So far, I've succeeded in redirecting stylefashionsense.com without the "www." It's also supposed to redirect www.stylefashionsense.com, with the "www". But somehow, it could not. I really don't know why. Maybe it's taking time or I don't know.. So, I'm really sorry about this domain name changes..

Ok, I wanna talk about a different story now. Let's just move on ya. Yesterday, my sister held this photoshoot session with my cousins. It's for my sister's own lil' project. She asked me to do their makeup. Let's just say, I became the reluctant makeup artist.... because I dreadddd doing makeup on other people. Truth is, other than playing makeup with my sis, I never did makeup to anyone other than myself! So, it was my first time yesterday. Here's me in action.

I think I bent too much till my back hurts. My sis wanted a natural look. But I didn't go all out for it cos we didn't have enough makeup stuff we can use for other people. Here's the final look.

I did the winged eyeliner on her eyes. But I skipped on concealer and mascara cos my sis and I don't have them for other people's use.

This is just to share of what I'm loving currently.

I do love makeup and beauty stuff but not to the point of hoarding them. It came to me that it's better to have a few things and use all of them than having so many things and not using most of them. So, believe it or not, I only have a few lipsticks in my keep. This one is currently my favorite because it doesn't come off as easy and I think the red color suits me well. It looks kind of pink in the picture but in real life it's almost like a deep red. It's called R42 Passion Red by Maybelline. It has some specks of glitter on it too and although it's matte, it's surprisingly moisturizing.

Well, the label doesn't show in this picture. It's actually New Complexion Loose Face Powder in Translucent #02 by Revlon. Truth is, I never really bought a loose powder but as I have oily complexion, I think it's just necessary for me. It cost RM50 when I bought it. A bit expensive for me but I figured it would go a long way. True enough, I love it for its matte finish and I don't even have to use much! I heard that translucent loose powder can make you look ghostly in pictures but I think the key is not to use too much of it.

This... I just bought yesterday. Haha! I was at the mall looking for a purse and this Giossardi caught my eye. I don't really know what to say about this. It's just love at the first sight. Hehe. Cost RM89.90 but got it with 20% discount. Year end sale anyone?

I've been carrying this Sacha handbag for a while now and it's a gift by my fiance for our engagement. I like it that it's more sophisticated-looking and he did let me pick. Hehe. Cost RM219 but got it with 60% discount much to my honey's delight. Haha.

When my honey asked me, what I want for our engagement, I told him I want a curling iron. Well, he did get a curling iron but with additional tools. Lucky him I'm not a jewelry person. Haha. Ok, so he got me a 7-in-1 hair tools by Empress. It's distributed by Cosway and cost RM160. I've only tried the curling iron cos I only wanted a curling iron in the first place, remember? The rest I will try at a later time. I like that it's equipped with overheating protective device. When it overheats, it will automatically switch off. It has tools for drying, straightening, curling and volumizing. I guess my hair tools are complete now.

I haven't blogged this long for quite a while. So this is really therapeutic. ^_^ Till then...
