On Saturday night my friend, Emily, had on the cutest colorblocked tassel earrings. They were the perfect POC (Pop of Color) with her leopard print top and black shorts.

And the best part is the earrings are only $3.80 from Forever 21! I think we all need a pair!

Matchy-Matchy was the name of the game on Tuesday. When I bought these shoes I knew they would be great with this scarf belt that my mom gave me for Easter. For good measure I just had to add the necklace too. People must like matchy-matchy though because this casual outfit received a lot of compliments from my co-workers.

After watching the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday Night I was drawn to wear this cream blazer after being inspired by Julie Bowen and Miley Cyrus. I opted to be a bit more Julie though and pair it with pants and a tank vs. Miley's blazer only look!

I have had to completely replace my wardrobe - a couple of times - over the past year or so. I've been fine with this and have scored a lot of great items at good prices. However, one thing that is lacking in my new wardrobe in dresses. So many of the smaller size dresses are too short for my personal liking and feeling "work appropriate". So, when I discovered this Jones New York Dress at a local resale shop I was super excited. The dress fits like a dress, and in my opinion, is the perfect length for work.

Last Thursday, I headed straight from work to downtown Indy for "Happy Hour at the Symphony" with a good friend. We enjoyed lots of free samples of food and drinks before getting to enjoy the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra featuring Time for Three. It was an absolutely wonderful evening, and this dress was perfect to take me from work, to the Symphony, out to a bar afterwards and even a stop by the Fieldhouse to enjoy the Pacers win over the Miami Heat that night.

Hello, ladies . . . I really didn't plan on disappearing for a couple of weeks, and I'm not really sure why. Well, I guess that isn't entirely true. You see they are doing road construction on a major intersection I have to drive through every morning. The construction adds about ten minutes to my commute, and that 10 minutes is when I usually snap my picture in the morning. Sure, I could wake up a little earlier, but nah . . . I could take my picture after work, but most days I go straight to the gym and that isn't happening either. You haven't been missing much though. I have been wearing a lot of jeans and casual tops lately and enjoying the casual environment my office allows.

I feel like the date on the calendar is past the time of wearing tights. However, it was chillier today, plus I always freeze in my office. So, tights it was. I kept the colors fairly light to keep the outfit from looking too "wintery". It must have been a good choice because my co-workers were very complimentary (I'm lucky to work with such a nice bunch!).

Sparkles at work - yes please! I found this top a couple of weeks ago and love the small sequins with their matte finish. It still has sparkle without being too over the top (at least in my opinion). I was inspired to layer it over a button-up shirt based on the inspiration pic below.

Today was a special day at the office - no jeans allowed! I kind of forgot what it felt like to dress up. Don't get my wrong, I like to dress up, but given my casual office environment I have stopped buying "work clothes". So give me a day that I have to dress up, and I was left scrounging for some work clothes that still fit. Luckily, belting this dress worked out pretty well. Dave even said it was a "Mad Men" look, which in my opinion is a win!

Combo for an easy work outfit - new stuff + go-to black pants. That is what I wore on Tuesday to work. I scored this bright pink tee and black/white striped cardi for only $10 each. And I think I should have bought multiples of these pants because they are awesome! Good cut, comfy and look nice - perfect for a work day!

Not going to lie, I felt a bit like Superman in a cape today! This lightweight, silk jacket is so fun and flowy. I love it, and when I spied it across Goodwill a couple of months ago I knew it just had to be mine. When I discovered it was Donna Karan it made it that much sweeter!

Since the jacket is so fully I paired it with a slim tank and pants to balance it out.

This is just one of those outfits that is a whole lot of random pieces, but somehow it all works together (at least in my opinion and I did have a co-worker tell me it was a "sweet" outfit). I bought this neon striped shirt a couple of weeks back at Old Navy. I am still loving all things neon. As for this structured blazer - it is actually a Girl Scouts of America blazer (I am guessing for a leader). I spied it at a thrift store last fall. It was only 89 cents and at first I was going to buy it for the button alone. Despite the tag saying size 6 I decided to attempt to put it on and . . . it fit! It was super tight, but it fit. Fast forward a couple of months and it totally fits, so why not wear it!

This past weekend I went south to Louisville to visit fabulous friends. There was only one slight drawback though . . . I left all my tops in Indianapolis. I had three shirts on hangers that I totally planned on laying on the top of the other stuff in my overnight bag at the last minute to limit wrinkles. Well, then I got distracted and left all three of them hanging on the dining room chair. WHOOPS!!

I realized I had left everything up north with 90 minutes to go before our dinner reservation. Luckily there was a TJ Maxx 5 miles away and I scored a couple of shirts to wear that night and the next day. This orange sherbet shirt was one that I scored during my quick shopping trip. I wore it with jeans (half tucked in the front) and nude heels on Saturday night and decided to wear it to work with these black skinny crops today.

I borrowed this gorgeous lace top from Tina of T Minus T Plus last summer when we were in NYC together. Since then it has hung in my closet. I have always thought it was so pretty, but never wore it. Well, I changed that this past Friday by layering it over a white tank top and jeans. I loved the simple mix of the lace with denim and some pearls. It ended being a great outfit to wear to casual Friday at the office followed by dinner and a Pacers Game.
