Sunday morning, I wake up at 2am preparing for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009 which will be held in Dataran Merdeka. This is a very big marathon event. There are 12,500 participants in total.

2 days before the race day, I went to collect race pack during a weekday lunch hour.

It was a nightmare, as you can see, the queue is damn long. I end up have to go again on the next morning. This time, I only used 5 minutes to collect 7 race packs for myself & my friends, very big improvement.

Here is the running vest:

Compare to New Balance Run 2009 running vest, the quality is slightly lower.

My race starts at 5am, full marathon (42.195km) with a time limit of 6 hours. There is some small rain between 4:30am - 5am, but overall, it didn′t affect the race.

After 5 minutes the race start, my left stomach begin to feel pain, oh crap, not again during this important race. I try to adjust my body by running extra slow so that my pain will be gone after some distance. It works well, my stomach pain gone after I cross 8km.

From 10km on wards, my body feel fit & I think is time for some catch up with my extra slow start up. I start to cross a lot of runners one by one between 10km - 20km. And that is the biggest mistake I had ever made.

After 24km, I suddenly feel that my left leg having some muscle twitch, oh crap, my legs are not fit enough or maybe I am running too fast. I start to look for 100 plus, hope that water restoration can reduce my muscle twitch. But it didn′t work very well, I finally end up my first stop at 27km, begin to walk.

As my previous running experience tell me, when I start to walk, I might not able to run back so easily. Yeah, the theory work very well, I walk until the end for the remaining 15km.

I feel so disappointed during this 15km walk, although I feel like I am able to run for the last 5km after 10km of walking, but I didn′t feel like want to do so, cause 10km of walking is a shame for a runner. There is no different for 10km or 15km walk, I feel shame for both ways.

Well, I still pretend running for the last 0.195km, I cross the finish line at 11:15pm, which mean I took 6 hours 15 minutes to complete my 27km run, 15km walk full marathon.

A finisher t-shirt & medal still be rewarded.

Experience gained, mistake learned, I will do better for the next full marathon.

congrats!

1. the distance you ran was 42.45km. You did more than a marathon.
2. Any water shortage?
3. cut off time was 9hours, not 6. It was stated that the finishing area were to be opened until 3pm. They wrapped by at 1pm.
4. there were still runners coming in after 1pm but no one to go to.
5. timing chip fler wrapped up at 11.30.
6. police went off at 11am.
7. you can walk a marathon and still finish in 7 hours. i′ve done it before after after swimming 3.8km and biking 180km...can finish marathon in 7hours...no problem even if just walk.

again...well done!

Congrats and well done for finishing the marathon.
The time limit was 6hrs and not 9 hrs. It was stated in the marathon website. I think it is too short but for security reason I suppose the organiser has not much choice.

After 11 months when my first attempt to hike at bukit tabur east wing, I finally decided to go for my second attempt on last Sunday.

This time, I myself as a newbie organizer is trying to bring 11 people to conquer the most dangerous hill in Klang Valley for their "virgin".

The journey begins at 7:30am.

As usual, it is not an easy place for beginner.

I somehow see "heaven". (What a beautiful view)

We finally reach our final challenge, climb up to the peak.

This hill is a ′normal′ hill but it is dangerous. Maybe you should try hiking other more challenging hill/mountain like the G9.

They are more exiting. =)

New Balance Pacesetters 15km Run 2009 was held at Tasik Perdana Lake Gardens 7am this morning.

There is only 15km category, no other option available, the entry fee of RM45 for this event also not cheap.

However, I get a damn good quality running vest.

The running vest is perfect. I didn′t expect to get such a good qualify running vest from New Balance.

I was a bit late to reach Lake Garden this morning. Thanks to the timing clip system, my time only start count when the timing clip on my shoes crosses the starting line, it is nice that I having a fair timing count.

Race start!

I think I am rushing too fast in the first few km, I was like rushing to cross all the people in front of me, but I know it is impossible.

I finally notice my mistake when I saw a "4km" sign board along the road. "Crap, I had use off all my energy on my first 4km run, how am I going to continue my remaining 11km?"

So, the remaining 11km was a night mate for me, I keep my mind strong to not stop running, I don′t want to become a LEAVER. Distance from 4km to 10km is terrible for me.

Luckily I still manage to finish it & get the finisher medal.

The finisher medal is a New Balance shoes. Not bad for the creative design.

Looking forward my next run - 28 June 2009 Standard Chartered KL Full Marathon (42.195km). Hopefully I won′t make the same mistake again.

I am trying to format number in Apache Struts input text field.

First of all, I go to setup my Struts ActionForm.

Bean Taglib can format number easily with:

When HTML Checkbox is checked & disabled, there is no way its value can be submitted over the form.

Today I just register for Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009, Full Marathon (42.195km) Malaysian Citizens Men category.

You are right, this is not play play, and it is a 42.195km FULL marathon.

It will be held on 28 June 2009, venue at Dataran Merdeka. Time limit is 6 hours.

The route map is a bit blur. Overall it is almost cover the whole Kuala Lumpur.

My longest distance in a race competition previously is only 10km. This event is a BIG challenge for me. My target is to finish the race within 6 hours & get the finisher medal.

I just online brought a 16′′ Dell monitor on last Saturday. 16 inch? That is very small. Ya, I totally agree right after I receive it.

Left: My old 19′′ Dell monitor which had been struck by lightning.
Right: My new 16′′ Dell monitor which is very small.

Then I take my brother laptop to do some comparison, oh god ...

My new monitor might smaller than a laptop screen, crap ...

Now I feel regret. Why I want to buy a 16′′ monitor? Why I want to open my PC during heavy rain?

I just went to KL Tower International Forest Towerthon Challenge 2009 this morning at Menara Kuala Lumpur which is invited by meeeei.

I spend RM20 to register & get a t-shirt + "lucky" number. Some of my friends say the towerthon advertisement design for this year suck, so they not really like the t-shirt.

This is the entrance of the KL Tower.

This is my first towerthon experience. I would say I spent more time to walk than run due to the limited space on the Menara KL stair.

300 people running on the stair. Oop, no, they are not running, they are walking on the stair. The width of the stair is only around the size of 2 people. That only means, there are only 2 lanes. I had been force to walk on the stair due to the limited space & everybody block my way at the beginning few floors. By the time I reach half tower height, I already unable to run.

I am required to run approximately one kilometer uphill before climbing 2,058 steps to reach Tower Head 3 at 288 meter above ground level. There are 24 floors in total, but I would say it take longer time to reach 1 floor than any other building.

One of my friends manages to show her name in KL International Towerthon 2009 Individual Women Open Top 50. I am proud of her.

After the race, the organizer is giving bags & finisher medal to whoever can finish the race.

Overall, RM20 can let me visit KL tower & receive quite a number of gifts, I must say it is worth to join the fun.

Recently Google Adsense had implement a PIN verification of publishers mailing address.

I am glad that I finally received the PIN yesterday.

I request the PIN on 18 December 2008 & I received it on 19 January 2009, it is around 1 month. Now only I know deliver mail from USA to Malaysia require such a long period.

Seriously, I didn′t know Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) service is so bad until I experience it myself. It is really suck.

I am moving house & my TM Homeline is under my father name, so I want to apply for transfer name & address at TMpoint. I apply it on 16th December 2008, I actually ask for remain the TM Homeline phone number & remove my TM Dial-Up account. They said the process will be:
1) Cut off my TM Streamyx
2) Transfer my TM Homeline
3) Re-setup my TM Streamyx

I call up almost every weekend in order to know the status:
1st week: I call up they said my TM Streamyx had been cut off.
2nd week: I didn′t call up but I received a TM Homeline bill with my name.
3rd week: I call up they said my TM Homeline is transferring.
4th week: I finally received their call to come over to setup my TM Homeline at my new house.

Today, 16th January 2009, the TM Homeline had setup, NOT using the old phone number but using a new phone number & they said tomolo only can use. If tomolo not working, I will need to call them up again.

Fine, I not really care about what phone number as long as they give me a TM Homeline, I only wants to ONLINE. I failed to login with my TM Streamyx, ok fine, I still need to wait for this. Then I go to try login with my TM Dial-Up, it′s worked. I am now posting here at my new house with TM Dial-Up connection.

Thanks to them, I able to post this "TM Sucks". Do they really understand my English?

Today is my last day in my company, 2 years & 4.5 months employment period end here. Few days ago, I already prepare my farewell speech, I am waiting today to post it up.

Wong:
The closest working partner in this company, acted like my older brother. I asked him many questions, there is no doubt he having a great working experience, know a lot of things. The only problem he having is lack of motivation to try new thing, especially JavaScript, he totally give up. Most properly he had growed old. I think I might have the same behavior as him one day.

May:
Second close person in this company, she acted like my older sister lecturing me all the time. Maybe I didn′t have any older brother or sister, that why it make me kind of "enjoy" her lesson. She is one of the project managers that I like to work with due to her programming background. Maybe my explanation is not so good, it hard for me to work with other project manager, just like "chicken talking to duck".

PPY:
Sometime I had gone mad by her urgent request, but sometime I will feel pity on her, many rubbishes or shits will throw to her. Haiz, I also don′t want to angry on you.

KK:
I am a bit admiring him on his motivation to try new thing. Don′t put too much of your time on study & working, sometime human need to enjoy life also.

Andrew:
Your ability to work is strong, but your ability to express is weak.

Low:
I know NiuZeXui Commercial Centre (牛车水) is under your protection, but your programming skill needs to be strengthened, please put more heart on your work.

Alec:
Ability to work is strong, most properly will be my replacement, keep up the good work.

Chee Leong:
Gently age have good results, you are a talent. But you are a bit loner in Java team. Your speaking is arrogant, nobody willing to obedience you, leadership need to be strengthened.

Edwin & Keng Soon:
You guys are my only juniors in this company. Last month before leaving need me to guide you two new guys really not easy. Don′t know Java, J2ME, server & database, but you guys manage to finish the BlackBerry project, awesome.

I manage to leave successfully lo.

I had been trying to switch from DiGi Postpaid to Hotlink when Mobile Number Portability (MNP) came out. Yesterday I finally switched to Maxis successfully.

At first, I try to use Maxis MNP online to switch. But unfortunately, I key in wrongly on my first & only submission. I didn′t select my current service provider & remain it as default selection which is Celcom. Then it let me submit without showing me any verify my details page. After that, I want to try another submission since I know my first submission is wrong, but I failed to do so, it keep telling me that my mobile number had submitted previously. After 1 month fails retrying to submit the form, I finally give up & decide to go to a Maxis store to do switching.

Here another tricky story. The first Maxis store I asked said: "DiGi Postpaid only can switch to Maxis. You need to change to DiGi Prepaid first before you can switch to Hotlink". Then I go to a nearby DiGi store ask them whether I can change my Postpaid to Prepaid, their answer is: "No". WTF, how can I switch to Hotlink then? Ok, nvm, I try to ask another Maxis store, this time they said: "DiGi Postpaid can switch to Maxis or Hotlink, but you need to go to settle all your bills first". Hmm, both Maxis telling me different thing, after think for a while, I feel like lazy to go to settle my bill, just give the first Maxis store a try, and switch to Maxis lo.

In the end, it spends two working days to switch to Maxis. First day I received a SMS telling me that Maxis had received my switch request, then the second day I received few SMS from both Maxis & DiGi telling me both service provider are processing my request & give me an estimate time when it will be switch over. I am pretty happy with the fast process.
