One thing I love about having a blog is all of the fabulous products I get to try and share with my readers. I try lot's of different products and only share the ones I can truly support here on my blog.

My Review

Time for another fabulous find from Fabumom...

I Love Baby Wearing!

I can't say enough great things about Sleepy Wrap. It's comfy and oh so soft! We have the Organic Sleepy Wrap made with organic cotton knit with a touch of spandex giving it a slight stretch. Baby is secure but also very comfortable with a ton of support for the head and neck. It's great for keeping baby close, but still having your hands free. Especially when you have a toddler who also needs a hand from time-to-time. They really picked a great name, because my infant falls asleep within seconds of being placed in her Sleepy Wrap. Not only has it been comfortable for baby, but it's extremely comfy for mommy with the weight of the baby spread out evenly across your back and shoulders.

The Sleepy Wrap also helped us get out and about a little sooner then we would have otherwise, because baby is safely and securely tucked away. When I was packing for the hospital, I brought along a couple of my muslin Swaddles made by Aden+Anais. These muslin swaddles are so soft and the designs are just darling, I couldn't wait to try them out. I started using them at the hospital and received compliments from several of the nurses. The lactation consultant commented on how soft and breathable my swaddles looked. And, I've found the more you wash them, the softer they get! I can honestly say that I use these swaddles everyday. They are so soft against baby's skin. I use them to swaddle, as a nursing cover, stroller shield and as a baby blanket. They are ideal as summertime baby blanket because they keep baby covered, but don't cause baby to overheat. When my five week old is fussy, I swaddle her up tight and she usually calms right down. She loves it! Muslin is ideal for swaddling because the fabric is breathable and slightly stretchy so baby is not overly constricted or overly hot. My favorite products are useful and cute, these definitely fit the bill!

Swaddling is the art of wrapping your baby tightly so they feel more safe a secure. From the Aden+Anais website: Swaddling is said to be as familiar to babies as it is to thier moms because it recreates the secure and cozy feeling of the womb -- and using swaddles made of natural cotton muslin only enhances that blissful feeling. in 2002, the medical journal Pediatrics published a study that explained why babies who are swaddled sleep more peacefully by preventing spontaneous movements (called reflex motion) from waking them up continually during the night. The Graco Sweetpeace has been a godsend to us over the last six weeks. Not only is it just beautiful to look at, but it also comes jam packed with great features to help sooth and comfort baby. Everything about this swing is meant to mimic the comfort your baby receives from you. It's very soft, comfy and oh so soothing for baby. It's honestly the next best thing to being rocked by mommy (or daddy). The patented MomMotion rocks your baby just the way you would and this helps keep baby so calm and content. There are four seating positions and three recline position to mimic the way you would hold your baby. The Sweetpeace comes with a removable swaddling blanket that you can infuse with mommy's scent (they really thought of everything).

The Graco Sweetpeace was really easy to assemble and gives you the option of an AC Plug in or battery operation. It includes 15 songs and sounds to help sooth your baby (including womb and heart sounds). I love how the seat is removable so I can take my newborn into another room without disturbing her. Did I mention the removable seat is also a rocker? Alternatively you can place many types of car seats into the base. No need to wake baby after that car ride!

I just can't say enough good things about the Graco Sweetpeace. I can even plug in my ipod for a completely customizable experience. One last thing I'd like to point out is how easy it is to place baby into the swing and the security belt was obviously designed for comfort and ease of use. The design team at Graco really hit a home run when it came to the design and many features of the Graco Sweetpeace.

We recently started going to a new pediatrician and cant say enough good things about Garden Pediatrics of Redlands. We've had three visits so far and the wait times have been short, the staff friendly and the Doctor was very approachable. It was just like talking to another mom (who happens to be a pediatrician). They have both a well waiting room and one for sick children (this is very important to me). They have super cute, themed exam rooms(our fave was the Rock Garden). New Baby

The New Addition

Born June 1st, 2010

Ryleigh is here! I have a beautiful, brand-new baby girl. My second born arrived on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 (she was two weeks early). Ryleigh weighed 8 Pounds 8 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. We are doing great and adjusting to our new lifestyle wonderfully. Everyone is happy and healthy.

My three year old daughter (Skylar) loves being a big sister.

The delivery went well and we were able to come home after just one night in the hospital.

Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes and continued support of the Fabumom Blog! Watch this space for more adventures as I journey further into motherhood. My heart is full of joy and I'm so excited to begin this next chapter of my life...I love my girls!

Babymoon

We've returned from our babymoon and we had a fantastic time. It was our last trip as a threesome and was a truly memorable experience. We wanted to make this trip special for our (almost) three year old little girl as these are her final days as an only child. I heard about the Nickelodeon Getaway at the Renaissance Esmeralda just outside of Palm Springs. This sounded like the perfect way to make our daughter feel special but also give mommy and daddy a chance to relax before the arrival of our newborn baby.

Nickelodeon Getaway

Upon arrival we were greeted by Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer. This was the perfect start to our fun-filled weekend. Click over to view a short video of my daughter when she first saw Dora.

After spending some time with Dora we decided to hit the pool for some sun and relaxation. My husband and daughter enjoyed swimming and playing on the sandy beach while mommy enjoyed a (virgin) margarita by the pool. The resort grounds are truly beautiful with fire pits, palm trees and a poolside bar. It was quite relaxing!

We had just enough time for dinner before attending the mass sliming show hosted by Nickelodeon. Good times were had by everyone. Children were invited to compete in a game-show style competition culminating with the popping of slime-filled balloons over their heads. This was followed by a pool-side or "dive-in" movie. It was the perfect ending to a fun filled day!

We made it an early night and retired to our luxurious room. We arrived to find another surprise waiting for us. Dora had stopped by and left a special backpack loaded with a Dora themed items including a book, pillow case and photo album (Spongebob Squarepants themed backpacks are also available). My daughter was so excited to receive all of these extra special gifts. We read her a the good night story and she fell fast asleep.

The next day was our character breakfast with Dora and Spongebob. The food was great and the children really enjoyed themselves. While my husband took boo boo out for more fun at the pool, mommy was treated to the Mellow Mama Prenatal Massage at the Spa Esmeralda. This was the perfect way to be pampered after 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Needless to say, the whole family had a wonderful time and we plan to return soon.

Fun For Everyone

While our trip was primarily focused on fun for our daughter I'd like to share that the Renaissance Esmeralda does a great job of offering something for children and adults alike. They do a superb job of providing entertainment for children, but they also have so much to offer adults. There's a nightclub, Spa, Fine Dining, Family Dining, Sushi Lounge and more. The staff is very friendly and they really make you feel spoiled. The hotel has a brand new lounge area called "Stir". From Thursdays - Saturdays, Stir turns into a great place for tweens and older children your tween can enjoy all you can eat pizza and Wii gaming. After hours, Stir turns into a night club for adults.
