Each user is unique and has an unique id in facebook. A facebook account id is the system generated numbers that is unique. It is automatically created when you create your facebook account. Facebook gives you the option to show your status updates to everyone or only your friends. You can further optimize Facebook so that your status updates are shown only to people you wish.

How to show status to people you wish?

Go to Privacy Settings by clicking the down arrow at the right of the top navigation bar and clicking Privacy Settings.
In the Control Your Default Privacy section, click on Custom.
Then, customize who you wish to show your posts under the "Make this Visible to Specific People" option and adding their names.

You can also hide your statuses from specific people by adding their name in the Hide from These section. You can also individually change the audience of your posts.

How to hide status to people you wish?

Go to the post whose audience you wish to change

How to Make Facebook Photos & Posts Private

Do you have private pictures of yourself or your family on Facebook which you don't want the entire world to see? This guide will help you change your Facebook privacy settings to only allow your friends or people you know to see your Facebook photos (and everything else you do). You can even customize the privacy settings of individual albums to share them with a small group of people like your co-workers or relatives.

There are three ways in which you can do this. Either, you can customize each post's or photo's settings individually, or set the preferences for specific albums or use a general setting for all posts and photos you have.

1. Choosing an individual post's or photo's privacy settings

While posting your photo or post, click on the down arrow left to the post button. Select Custom from the drop-down menu. Using the pop-up, select who you wish to make a post visible to. You can select if you wish to show a post to friends, friends of friends or specific people or a specific list of people.

Select Custom Privacy Options

You can even hide a photo from specific people or a list of people. This will be especially useful in situations where you don't want your colleagues to see a certain picture that makes fun of them or something similar. Normally, when someone is tagged in a photo, every friend of that Facebook user gets to know about it. So, if you chose to make a photo visible to friends and someone is tagged in that picture, all their friends will see that image. To prevent this, uncheck the Friends of those tagged checkmark.

2. Limiting the Audience for an entire album

This is much similar to setting the audience for an individual picture. Just go to your albums, click on the down arrow on the bottom right of the album whose privacy settings you wish to customize. Then select custom the from the drop down menu. The options Facebook offers are almost the same as those for an individual photo, however there is one difference.

All those people who are tagged and their friends would still be able to see the photos in your album. To prevent this, you will have to change the privacy settings of each individual photo.

3. Making all your Photos and Posts Private

This is the permanent solution against worrying about your Facebook content. However, it doesn't offer much customization options and should only be used if you are sure how you will use Facebook. This is a 2 step process and involves customizing the audience for your past posts as well as those you will make in future.

Step 1: Limiting Past Posts & Photos

Go to your Privacy Settings, and go to "Manage Past Post Visibility". In the pop-up, click Limit Old posts. This is a permanent change and cannot be undone. However, all those tagged and their friends would still be able to see your posts. To prevent this, you will have to change each post's individual settings.

Step 2: Limiting Future Posts and Photos

While in the privacy center, encircle custom under "Control Your Default Privacy". This will open a pop-up. In the pop-up, make sure to select friends if you only wish to share content with your friends. You can however, change this according to your needs but for most people, friends would be the best option. Also, uncheck the Friends of those tagged if you wish to further enhance your Facebook privacy. This will customize your Facebook settings to show your Facebook activity only to your friends and those tagged.

You can also select who gets tagged in your content to further prevent your content from unwanted eyes. To do this, go to your Privacy Settings from the down arrow located at the top right of the blue Facebook bar. Then, click Edit Settings located next to "How Tags Works". In the pop-up, select 'On' for 'Tag Reviews of tags that friends add to your posts'.

Facebook's privacy settings take some time to adjust but once you are done, you will never have to worry about your content ending up in front of unwanted users.

LOL!! What am I doing? I'm blogging about facebook, but then, I made up this kind of title. Forget 'bout it!! I will post it!! This is very important!! Hehehe..

"Facebook Influenceza" of today's students increasingly feltly. Although many students are not aware of the negative impact of facebook, maybe because his/her name was addicted to facebook. Just imagine, student keep on surfing (Facebook Wall Walking) in Cyber Cafe, till then, missed the courses/classes. What the ****?!!

Here are some of the negative impact of facebook for college students.

1. Reduced Learning Time

It looks at all to play facebook will reduce the time to learn students imagine a day in the cafe just plug the status, comments or just chat as acquaintances.

2. Wasting Money

Accessing facebook obviously effect on student finance. Dont believe me? Right, imagine if facebooking at cyber cafe to 2 - 5 hours when multiplied by days, doesnt it wasting time and money? And the cost of internet in KL tend to be expensive compared to others.

3. Personal Data Spread

Some Facebookers provide data about himself in details. They do not know the risk of spreading personal information on facebook. It is very dangerous.

4. Forgotten Assignment

This is very visible at all if day-to-day are in priority only on facebook so assignment of course given by lecturers had been forgotten. They just put the status of "Dizzy many tasks" how to not only put his status dizzy or comments that are not useful.

5. Health

Too much sitting in front of the monitor without doing any activity, with no exercise is risk for health. Disease will be easy to come. Late irregular eating and sleeping. Obesity (overweight), stomach diseases (gastrointestinal), and eye diseases are health problems most likely to occur.

6. Wasting Time

This is very obvious. Just same like "Wasting Money". Just imagine if its just sitting front of the monitor for hours every day just chatting, pairs of status, or just playing game like Poker, doesnt give any benefit the students.

Other online media such as Friendster/Myspace/etc are also vulnerable to fraud. Often times we hear the news that criminals are still in touch with social network such as Facebook.

It now allows you to download all your account information at the click of a button!!!!

Actually, this GOOD thing has been requested by users for years and finally, Facebook has introduced it.

YOU ARE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!!

The download will be in .zip file containing all of your profile pictures, wall posts and videos.

Your messages, friend list, photos, events, likes ( and almost everything you have ever uploaded on Facebook )also will be included in the downloaded zip file. Upon unzipping the downloaded zip file, you will find a simple HTML file of your profile with offline links to the above stated things.

Eventhough I'm not really a fan of the chat bar being at the botton of the page, then what if I've left Facebook?

Me, YES!!. I did!! Then, the alternative is, by using Firefox. You can place the Facebook Chat at the sidebar.

Facebook is a social networking site which enables people to connect with friends and people around. That's how Facebook is usually introduced but Facebook is beyond the requirement of being introduced as almost everyone is on it. But Facebook has one flaw, the default blue theme is really boring.

Some even consider it an annoyance while visiting Facebook. As Facebook does not allow users to change its theme like MySpace used to, users are left with no other option but to bear the theme Facebook wants them to use.

However, it is relatively easy to change the Facebook theme to a stylish one using a Firefox addon and custom themes which are available free of cost on the internet.

An example of the final outcome would be something like in the image.

Requirement: The basic requirement for this to work is to have Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or higher.

Steps to achieve this: The following steps should be carried out to successfully change Facebook theme.

Open Mozilla Firefox and install 'Stylish' addon.
Follow the basic steps to install the addon.
Restart Firefox after successfully installing the Stylish addon.

When you open Facebook, the first thing that you notice is the blue color it uses. Ever wondered why is Facebook so blue in Color and not upgrading its theme.

Ever since they started as 'thefacebook', Facebook has sticked with the blue color. Although major changes have been made in the Facebook theme since then, the major unchanged thing has been the blue color.

An exciting fact: In its earlier days, thefacebook.com required you to have an .edu email id to join.

Everywhere from its login page to Facebook groups, you find only blue.

The reason for this is that Mark Zuckerberg, the young founder of Facebook is red-green color-blind and blue is the richest colour for him which he confirmed in an interview with Leo Laporte in an online interview.

Another important commercial factor for using blue color is the fact that most colors tend to distract the viewers. Blue on the other hand acts as a transparent background to the main content as visible to the human brain due to which most popular websites tend to use the blue color. There are now more than 63 Million active users on Facebook with an average of 250,00 new registrations happening every day!

It is currently ranked No 7 in Alexa top ranked websites and every other headline seems to refer to Facebook in some context.

But what about you? Is Facebook really going to help grow your business?

Having launched myself into Facebook in September last year, I must admit even I swing back and forth on whether Facebook can seriously contribute to the growth of small businesses.

One week, several hours are spent proactively visiting groups and adding to the discussions and the next I am lucky to get a chance to click through on the email notifications that arrive in the in box.

But over the past few months, I believe that there are several points that someone needs to consider before deciding to use Facebook as a promotional tool. As I am sure anyone who has experienced Facebook will agree, it can be an absolute time-waster!

TIPS and TRICKS: 6 Points you need to consider before launching yourself in to Facebook

1. Think quality NOT quantity - Facebook is only one of many social networking sites out there. And online networking is only one of many promotional tools to use for your business. Having a presence on Facebook is desirable but not critical to your business success. Trying to do everything, all of the time usually means you end up with nothing (as well feeling a little insane at the same time!)

2. Keep Focused - It is too easy to waste hours on Facebook. The widgets, the virtual drink buying, the ranking of how hot your friends are. Remember that Facebook wastes millions of employee hours, which is fine when you are on PAY. But when you are self-employed, no one is going to pay you for the time you waste on Facebook. Know what it is you want to do and get out!

3. Contribute, don't SPAM - There is nothing worse that having someone at a networking event thrusting business cards in to everyone's hands and talking about nothing but themselves. It is boring and downright rude, so there is no need to do it online either

4. Have a website with a purpose - Many people use Facebook to drive traffic to their website, which to be honest is a pretty good objective to have. But before you start leaving your web address everywhere for all to see, what is your website offering to your visitors? Is your headline compelling enough to encourage visitors to stick around? And is your call to action strong enough to encourage visitors to take the first step to become a possible customer? There is nothing more frustrating for you than having a website with high traffic for it just to bounce straight out again, never to return. What a waste of good social networking.

5. Balance your personal life with your business persona - Remember that Facebook was originally designed for college students and that many members are there to gossip, have a bit of fun, post photos and arrange parties. Many of Facebook's widgets and wall postings reflect this. Will the photos that you posted from that night out be seen by your customers? Will that video posted on your wall be watched by an interested client?

6. Introduce yourself when inviting a friend - You wouldn't go round at a networking event poking people in the back, leaving your business card in their back pocket. If you wanted to meet someone at an event, you would introduce yourself and explain how you came to learn of them, wouldn't you? Leave poking to the college students and take the time to explain in your friend request why you would like to be friends and how you have come across their details. You will build a far stronger online network by taking a little time out and consider relationship building rather than "collecting" friends.

Creating an event on Facebook is an excellent way to build your visibility and credibility in your niche. I have done this several times now and will continue to create new events on a monthly basis. Let me explain how and why this will bring you more profit that you could ever imagine.

The first thing you want to do after you join Facebook is to search for groups that have something in common with your niche market. There are now tens of thousands of groups on Facebook, so search through them by using your keywords. When you find a group that fits your target audience, join the group. Then begin to add the members of the group as friends so that you will be building a community of friends that have something in common with you.

The next thing you will want to do is to start your own group on Facebook. Think carefully about what you will name it, because keywords are very important. You can now invite your Facebook friends to join your group. You will also find that people will join your group on their own by searching through the groups with the keywords they are interested in.

Now it is time to create your event. A teleseminar on a popular area of your niche is best. Plan your teleseminar about three weeks ahead of time, to allow for lots of marketing strategies. Go to the events section on Facebook and click where it says to create a new event. Be sure to include the time zone you are in so there is no confusion.

You will now be able to invite all of your Facebook friends to this event. That it why it is good to have as many friends as possible. You are allowed to have a total of five thousand friends, so pick and choose your friends wisely, based on common interests.

During the first 24 hours people will begin to respond to your event invitation. Make sure your event is open to all members of Facebook, and not limited to just your friends. Wait for a day or two and send a message to the people you have invited. Send a different message to those you have said they will attend, those who said maybe, those who said no, and those who did not respond at all. This will give you an excellent indication of who the active members are and who is interested in your topic.

Continue to send out message to everyone until the day of your event. And also make sure that people must opt in to your list in order to get the call in details. Do this once a month, add more friends regularly, and you will be on your way to building a good sized, highly responsive list.

How to Disable/Turn Off New Facebook Photo Theater Viewer Mode?

Facebook has recently rolled out a new and “better” photo viewer which makes it simpler and faster to navigate between photos in Facebook, plus a beFacebook has recently rolled out a new and “better” photo viewer which makes it simpler and faster to navigate between photos in Facebook, plus a better photo viewing experience. A click on a particular photo will open a new layer with the photo in the center of your screen and a blank frame around the photo. Actually, we have a name for the photo viewer. We called it the Facebook Photo Theater Viewer mode.

Facebook users most probably noticed by now that there’s a new lightbox type photo viewer which gets enabled by default and which can’t be disabled (apparently). At least, Facebook didn’t provide the users with any option of switching that off. The feedback on this “improvement” is not great at all. That’s a polite way of saying so many users are discontent, so I think Facebook is going to give their members a switch-off solution pretty soon. However, that’s only my lucky guess. Maybe the Theater Viewer was enforced for a reason, so we might never be able to turn it off from a Facebook menu.

Do you want to get rid of it? Here are a few ways:

1. Disable the “Theater Mode” photo viewer directly from its URL address:
After you click on a photo in Facebook, look at its URL address in browser. It will be something like

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/photo.php?fbid=10150100833538099&set=a.472337743098.253837.162547318098&theater

Delete &theater from the end of that string and press Enter. You’ll see the photo as you used to in the old Facebook photo viewer. Now you can click Next and Back to browse through the photos in the album.

2. Open the photo in a new browser tab
Instead of using left-click to enlarge a photo, use Right-click, then choose Open in new tab. It will open without activating the Facebook Theater Viewer.

3. Reload the photo
After you click on a photo, right-click it in the Theater Mode and choose Reload from the menu. It will reload in the old viewer.

The same result will be obtained if instead of right-clicking, you press directly F5 on your keyboard to reload the web page in your browser.

I heard that there are some browser add-ons which you can install and which will get you rid of the Facebook Theater mode viewer for good, but I’m not so keen about installing things that might slow down my computer, when I can get the same result another way.

How To TAG People in Facebook Status Update
